  • Split transfer order on the basis of Storage Unit type(SUT)

    Hi,
I got one problem and want the solution for that immediately.the problem is as follows:-
The transfer Order needs to be split by quantity according to the quantity per Storage Unit Type.
I have to do this making chages in the SAP standard user Exit EXIT_SAPLL03A_12 in the program SAPML03T.
    Eg.One scenario is provided
•Scenario 1:     Perform transaction MIGO with a movement type ‘101’ for Outbound Delivery 80000201. Enter a quantity of 15 kgs.
the result should be as follows:
•Scenario 1: Check TO’s created by going to transaction LT22. Enter Warehouse number 200; Storage type 902. Select the Dynamic Selections button and select ‘Transfer order Item’. Double click on Material and enter the material number (W075006). The SUT is 5kg so the expected result is for 3 TO’s to have been created.
Means one TO got splitted in 3 TOs.
    Please provide me the help.

    Hi Vinay,
This can be done purely through customizing. Please check IMG -> Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Activities -> Transfers -> Processing Performance Data/Split. You will need to define a sorting profile for TO split in where LETYP (storage unit type) can be used as sorting condition. The sorting profile should then be assigned to defined TO split.
    Hope it helps.
    Have a nice weekend!

  • Storage unit labels along with pallet labels in wm

    Hello,
could you please explain how to generate storage unit label along with pallet label in wm. for example if 1pallet contains 4 boxes and each box will have20 bottles then we need to print pallet label for 4boxes and unit label for each box with 20 bottles information.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Pavan Kumar

    Hi Pavan,
Based on your requirement and as far as standard SAP are concern there is no form which will help to generate the label in the above format. You need to take the help from development team who can design the format using SMARTFORM functionality as per your requirement. once the form is ready you can assign the print code and the SU lable form to below mentioned node. which will print the label on the printer specified
SPRO ---LE---WM ---Storage unit ---Define print control
additionally have a look on the below mentioned SAP standard link which will give you an idea about the printing of SU

  • Need Ideas For Storage Units Data Storage Capabilities - Special Attributes? History? 2 Ind-UMs

    Hello experts,
The company I'm working for is looking into permanently-storing pallet level information (keep a history of the pallet movements) and use RF-scanners to move product in the warehouse. They have made a decision to implement Warehouse Management's Storage Unit Management functionality. They looked into Handling Units as well, but they don't want to use HUs for many reasons.
They would also like to store 2 units of measure at the Storage Unit level without activating "Catch Weight Management" because that would require them to run parallel systems for a while and also deal with CWM functionality restrictions. Keep in mind that most of the products they handle are catch-weight products, so UM conversions don't work for them.
    Solutions I have in mind:
For storing 2 independent UMs: Store the quantity of the 2nd unit of measure in a custom table at the Storage Unit level and use custom RF-scanner programs to "receive, issue, scrap, and move" goods in the warehouse. These custom RF-scanner programs would update SAP standard table with 1st (base) UM and also custom table with 2nd UM.
For permanenlty-storing SU history: Use custom table to to store Storage Unit History. The custom programs created to handle the SUs would update this custom table.
Last time I checked, the history of a Storage Unit is not recorded in SAP, correct? ONLY in Handling Units, correct?
OR are there any documents/tables that permanently store the Storage Unit number so they can be queried after the Storage Unit is consumed/issued?
I know SAP keeps improving its applications with every release, so I'm just looking at my options here.
Does anyone else have any other ideas on how to approach this other than Using Handling Units & Catch Weight Management?
    Thanks in advance!

    For storing 2 independent UMs
Can you please explore the LS26 option there also system is allowing you to change the parameter"Unit of measure" and displays the stock on different UoM, hopefully this will solve your problem and you need not design a custom table to store the value at different UoM level
    For permanenlty-storing SU history:
System store the storage unit related value in table : LEIN however the moment you do any consumption or movement to non SU the entries goes off from this table hence i think the approach taken by you seems the only one approach  to store the historical data. (Make sure you are taking into consideration of the archiving activity as you proceed further the size of database will get bigger and time to generate any report will take longer then expected

  • To print transfer order and storage unit labels in lt31

    Hi SAP Gurus
1>Is it possible to print Transfer order and Labels simultaneously in tcode LT31(At a time when LT31 is executed
If yes please guide me the selection parameter in Tcode LT31 and if any configuration required in the background
2>Is it possible to print Transfer order and storage unit labels automatically when MIGO is posted.what are the settings required
My client raised a query that before he was able to print both once Migo is posted .But now only trnasfer orders is getting printed but not SU.
Requesting to help in this issues
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    chandu

you need to define the print control parameter in the customizing and whether you can print both(SU & TO) is depend on the print code which you specify in the setting under
    LE----WM---Activities-----Define print control
After MIGO are you transferring the stock to SU managed storage type , as per STANDARD SAP stock goes to 902 which is Non SU managed so here you need to tell us the flow and the storage type where stock goes after MIGO also is that storage type is SU managed or not

  • WM Replenishment and 2-step picking with storage units.

    Dear Colleagues,
I am attempting to use SAP standard fixed bin replenishment and implement it as a 2-step picking process. Generally, the process goes as follows:
    - Generate replenishment pick tasks
    - Place the picked products onto storage units in an intermediate storage type
    - Put the products away from storage units into the respective fixed bins
I have setup the necessary parameters to get standard replenishment to work. I can run LP21 and generate all TR's, and subsequently TO's. The product moves from respective reserve bins into the fixed bins based on strategies that I have setup.
The issue i am experiencing is when I try to introduce the intermediate storage type to place the product into, before it goes into the fixed bins. Additionally, the intermediate storage type needs to have SUM enabled, so that the product gets placed onto pallets. This way, the warehouse personnel will be able to track the physical product movements before it is put away.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,

    Hi,
I'm not sure your scenario is viable in (standard) SAP.
    As I understand (e.g.):
    - source storage type: productA 10 pc, productB 20 pcs, productC 30 pc
    - intermediate storage type: SU1 (productA 2 pc, productB 17 pcs, productC 10 pc), SU2 (productA 8 pc, productB 3 pcs, productC 20 pc)
    - destination storage type: bin1: productA 2 pc, productB 17 pcs, productC 10 pc, bin2: productA 8 pc, productB 3 pcs, productC 20 pc
Please notice that SAP determines the to be removed quantities (~corresponding to SU1 & SU2 but not as SUs) when you remove the goods from the intermediate storage type ("allocation") and not when you place the goods into it.
Please also notice that automatically you cannot create storage units (palletize) with different products on it (I'm not sure this is requirement in your case or not).
Please check this link where it is explained where to carry out customizing for 2-step picking and how it works:

  • When to introduce Storage Unit into a warehouse business

    Hi all,
I am new in storage unit and I did read up a couple website about the storage unit and know how it work.
However, I am wondering if you can share your experience with regards to following questions.
In what kind of warehouse operation setting best suit to use SAP storage unit functionality? Does the warehouse business process require to meet some basic pre-requisites before a storage unit process of SAP is consider feasible and not overkill or will provide value added to the whole warehouse operation?
Is there any concern or remification of introducing SAP SU into a warehouse operation (both from system and business perspective). In another word, impact to other module as a result of SU.
    Looking forward to your feedback.
    Regards,
    Daniel

Hello Daniel, there are a number of reasons and scenarios for introduction of storage units.
I assume you want to use / are using - RF devices for WM...
From the aspect of warehouse operations if your products don't have printed material bar codes, then you would need to print them at some point in order to be able to scan your materials during transfer order confirmation. When you have batch management too, in bulk storage types everything gets more complicated since if you don't have storage unit management, and have batch managed materials, you also need to scan batch number in addition to scanning your material bar code. Ok, now you need to have that batch number bar-coded too. This gets a bit tricky, scanning two bar codes, printing 2 bar codes... Then why not introduce storage unit management and kill a couple of flies with one hit?
What storage unit does, is keep all the info stored in itself.
SU keeps track of material inside it, batch number, etc. So when you are picking from bulk storage type, by simply scanning SU you want to pick, you are actually specifying all the info from that SU, like material, batch, etc.
Someone will argue that material bar-code isn't mandatory to be scanned and yes it can be switched off, but it leaves you with a lot of room for mistakes, so if you don't have SU management, you need to scan the material + batch.
Also, it is easier to perform physical inventory with RF and storage unit managed warehouse. If you are having batch management that is.
From business point of view first we can think of traceability (not in the meaning of standard batch traceability) => like having the information of which exact pallet went to which customer.
When you scan storage unit for picking to customer 1234, you will have the information where did the exact pallet go, if you need that kind of info.
You can also have some sort of functionality like that without SU management, because you can actually store more information in one bar code, like scanning once and having all the info in one long number (by parsing the number you can assign that info to the appropriate fields in RF transactions).
And that's one good approach too if you don't want storage unit management but want to scan only once, but this requires some modifications to RF programs to be able to parse the scanned data into multiple data fields. Storage unit does something like that with just a bit of customizing.
Actually there are a lot of good things SU introduces in your warehouse, but sometimes it is overkill indeed, if you don't really need it then don't implement it, sometimes things are good to be kept simple, although I seem to thing about SU management to be the simplest way of operating WH.
If you need any further clarification or question about SU, feel free...

    Mihailo

  • Storage Unit multiple length conversion

    Hi Gurus
We have multiple plants and warehouses in our system and for our business reuirements HU and SU are both active
One warehouses use SU conversion length as 10 digits  ( pallet numbers with 2 leading zeros)  and other use 18 digits
I have a requirement to use different length conversion for SU in different warehoses
For enabling 18 digit SU numbers we have maintained SU conversion length as 18 but this is defined at system level
so for 10 digits SU numbers also system is asking to enter full 18 digits , thius is causing problems in RF transactions and manually in LS33 as well
Let me know if you have come across same thing or any other pointer for changing system to make it understand 10 digits as well

  • Storage unit Length conversion tcode OMNN

I have a requirement to use different length conversion for SU in different warehoses
HU and SU are both active, Some of the warehouses use SU conversion length as 10 digits and others use 18 digits

In OMNN I will use SU conversion exit value as 3 and then through CMOD I will create and activate a project
I will be using first two components of exit MWMK0001 , I am struggling because I can't put break point in this exit .I am new to ABAP so need help Does anyone ever had similar requirement and how it was solved

  • Destination storage unit number on LT03

    Hi friends,
When we create a transfer order, we need to fill "Destination storage unit number" (LTAP-NLENR), with a value from delivery (we manage the "Destination storage unit number" with external number range).
Have you any information how to do this?
    Please help me
    Thanks & Regards
    Alessandro

I had the following response from SAP Service:
Unfortunately, the documentation of Enhancement MWMTO01 in SMOD clearly
    says:
The user exit in the program is function module EXIT_SAPLL03T_001. In
order to be able to use the user exit, you must create Include ZXLTOU01
and activate the enhancement with transaction CMOD. As parameters, you
can use the TO header (import parameter I_LTAK_VB) and the items (table
parameter T_LTAP_VB). All database changes due to the transfer order
have already been performed. The transfer order is created.
With this user exit, you can update your own tables or trigger follow-upactions. Although changes made to table T_LTAP_VB do not have any
effect, they should still not be made.
Customer enhancement MWMTO003 is available for customer-specific stock
placement strategies though you should check carefully whether it meets
your exact needs. The enhancement is documented in transaction SMOD.
This could be used to determine specific SUs into which addition to
stock should take place but if you want to assign NEW SU numbers during
putaway then this is not possible in the standard.
Sorry I cannot provide you with a better answer. However I hope the
above information is useful to you. If you have no further queries,
kindly confirm the message at your earliest convenience.

  • Process of Clearing WM Data at Storage Unit Level

    Dear All,
I have an issue where our client has decide to temporaryly halt the WM function which was implemented for past three weeks. Now i have stocks in the new warehouse storage locations both in IM & WM. Presently the users are executing the IM Function but not the WM (Storage Unit ) part. They do not want to execute storage unit level process due to practical concerns. How do i go about clearing the WM part of the stock, since the storage unit level information is wrong at present.
I might have asked this question before this, i would appreciate if you could provide me a detailed procedure, on how i have to go about clearing the WM Data, and enable the user to procedure with the IM Process as before.
    Thanks & Regards
    Shabeen Buhary

    Dear Frenchy,
Thanks for your response. That is exactly what i am doing at the moment. Transfer the stocks at roll level to 999 storage type.
I am also looking into the possible of using LI21. But my concern is at the present moment i do not want to maintain any stocks at storage unit level (since the users have stopped using the WM Module due to technical & practical reasons). So storage unit level info is not important for them they want to only execute the IM Part, is there a possibility where i could just remove the storage unit level stocks without affecting the IM portion (since the IM Portion is correct). Any standard transaction, movement type to exexute this.
And alternative option i presume is to transfer the stocks from the warehouse storage location to non warehouse storage location.

  • Assigning storage bin type to storage unit type

    Hello guys,
I would like to know the purpose of assigning the storage bin type to storage unit type in the storage bin type search table.
    Thanks,
    Maxx

    Hello Maxx,
First let's understand what is the meaning of "Storage unit type"
Storage unit type is type of pallet i.e. big pallet, small pallet, industrial pallets etc so all this pallets have standard sizes.
Now let's understand what is the meaning of "Storage Bin type"
Storage bin type the classification of storage bin according to their characteristic /size i.e. 1 meter bin, 2 meter bin , 4x2 bin etc
Now if you have requirement that 1 meter bin should allow only small pallets not big pallet becuase it can not be fit in 1 meter bin so you can restrict this by assigning storage bin type to storage unit type.
Hope this will help you to understand the concept for assigning Storage bin type to SU type.

  • WM- Printing Storage Unit

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem while printing Storage Unit from another :
The material is entered in the warehouse number as Pallet in a storage type.
This step generates a Storage Unit number.
From this Pallet and this Storage Type, I place the material in another storage type (box) with another Storage Unit (box).
The movement i'm using is a copy of the 501, and the system does generate another Storage Unit Number for each box from the Pallet.
The only problem is that it does not print the Storage Unit Forms as it does for the first storage units.
The customizing is the same for the movement and the printing parameters, and I don't understand why it does not work.
If someone could help me with that...
    Thank you very much.
    Remi

    Hi Vittu,
In order print the labels, you need to have a label program.  You can even use the standard SAP label program.  This you may have to work with a developer.  If you have your label printing program is set, then you can assign the label print form according to your need.  You can either setup the label form based on the Source/Dest. storage type or based on the movement type or for the entire warehouse.
This can be setup to print automatically  when the TO is generated.
Hope this clarifies your question.  Please let me know if you need any specifics.
    Thanks.
    with regards,
    Muthu Ganapathy.

  • 2-step picking vs storage unit

    Dear All,
We'd like to use '2-step picking' for production supply and we use 'storage units' (pallets) in our WH.
There might be different sorts of goods (with different part numbers) on one pallet.
The problem is, that during '2-step picking' the system wants to deliver the whole storage unit from the storage bin to the interim storage bin.
Is it possible to 'break' the SU and pick only the necessary item (and necessary qty)?
    (e.g.
There are materialA, materialB, materialC on palletA. I need only materialB for production, but the system wants to move the whole pallet with materialA&B&C.)

  • Creating mix storage unit at id point

how can I create mix storage unit at id point. When I do gr of purchase order TO is created & confirmed automatically for id point. so I want to create mix pallet at id point. How can I create it . I checked LT09 but there only one storage unit I can enter in initial screen.

is this pallet number known into the system (is the warehouse HU managed) ?
if it is a SU managed
As per standard SAP flow the stock first comes to 902 storage type and then it goes to physical bin location.
in your case since  there are 10 different material document are there 10 different TR will be there and against each TR you are supposed to create the TO now another complexity is that physically all the material is on the same SU whereas none of the TO is confirmed yet so the SU number is still in runtime. at least one TO should get confirmed so that you can use the top up logic by using the same SU
Looking at the complexity and other operational issue (during picking) I don't suggest that you should go with this approach however you are free to design the system based on your business requirement by taking into consideration of all the pros and cons of system as well as physical operation
