  • Why to save standard texts in customization requests only?

    Hi Experts,
I have copied standard text of SAP SCRIPTfrom one system to other development system through the report RSTXSCRP.But I want to save the standard text in Transport Request.
I have tried to do it by using report RSTXTRAN.But Its asking for customization request.
Is it mandatory to store the standard texts in Custimization requests itself? Is it not possible to save it in workbunch request?
    Thanks in advance
    Harika

    Hi Harika,
No we can save Standard texts in BOTH  Workbench request and Customizing request. It will work.
But in to save a Standard text in a Workbench request, the Sub task type has to either Development/Correction or Repair
    Thanks..

  • Enforcing free text in Transport request

    Hello Experts,
I would like to inquire if there is a possible way to restrict or control the Short description of transport request? We have a naming convention but users are not adharing to standard standard name convension. Standard naming convention is a necessity so that we can identify quickly the ones that needs to be transported, or the ones that needs to be deleted during clean up activities. This should be strictly followed by users, instructors, trainees and developers. This naming convention needs to be strictly followed by developers to avoid their asset objects to be deleted in the system.
For example, Our Standard name convension is <string><md><c><9999999>FREETEXT
String = 2 char alpha numberic charactor
    MD = Module
    C = One charactor
9999999 = Incident or CR number
    Then free text
we want to restrict this. so if the end-user named the TR with anything else that does not follow the naming convention we have established, the end-user should encounter an error stating the he/she must change the name of the TR and follow our naming convention before he/she could proceed.
Looking for good solution which can be easily implemented.
    regards
    Kishore

    Hi,
Double click the request and change. There is a documentation tab. Enter the text there and save.

    Hi,
In order to assign a standard text to your request. You should be the owner of the request. Though you have a task on your name under that request, it doesnt allow you to assign. You will be getting the error which you got now.

  • Transport req for standard text.

    Hi All
How to find out the Under which request number standard text elements are stored in the smartforms.
    Thanks

    Hi,
As Vijay said the way you attach the standard text to tr. request is different through the program RSTXTRAN. If you want to find out under which tr. request the text is attached, go to SE09 which will display the tr. requests pertaining to a user and you can look under the tr. request.

  • Calling standard text to script

    Hi,
I created standard text using so10. How can I call this text to my script program??
Is there any other way to acheive this??
    Thanks,
    Ravindra

    Hi Ravindra,
By using INCLUDE command you can insert the standard text in script editor.
please go throught the help command for include command and it will explain you in detail.
One more thing regarding that, when you have to transport your request to QA system,  you have to include the standard text in your request otherwise your standard text will not be visible in the QA.
To include your standard text to your request in DEU, run  program RSTXTRAN.

  • 2 Transport Request for a report

    Hi Experts,
I am having 2 Transport requests for the same Z report (classical report).
I have transported both of them to quality on after another with different modifications in both of them.
Now i want to transport it to Production.
I want to know do i need to transport both the requests or do i need to transport only the last
    Transport request to production ?
    Please help <removed by moderator>.

    Hi,
As per SAP Best practice there shouldnt be any floating TRs in Quality system which are not moved to Production. Which means all the transports which move from Dev to Quality should be moved to Production. If there is any unwanted change which is moved due to a TR, then a correction request should be created & released to subsequent systems.
Hence in your case move both the TRs in the same sequence to Production.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,

  • Number range for transport request re-initiliazed

    Hello,
We use CTS+ to manage non-abap system transport request (in our case : portal content request).
We just change the domain controller and now the new domain controller begin to generate the transport request number from 0 (the first ONE is SIDK900001). AS you can understand we want to continue the transport request with the immediate following number from the last transport request generated in the old doimain controller.
How can we achieve that ?
Is there a number range to change in the new domain controller or anything else to customize it ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Mathias,
Honestly, I am not sure for non-abap transports.
    For abap transport:
The number of the latest transport request is stored in field TRKORR
of table E070L. You can change this number using database tools.
Be aware that problems will occur if requests from another system with
the same <SID> are transported to this system, as they could have the
    same range number.
    Check also the following notes:.
106911 - Transport system: number range filled for requests
12799  - Old correction numbers reassigned after recovery
Hope this helps also in your situation.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • Assign standard text (SO10) in transport request

    Hi Experts,
How can i assign the standard text i've created in SO10 to a transport request. Thanks!
    Best Regards,
    Kurtt

    Hi,
Refer note 3355 in OSS for a complete explanation. The SAPscript objects that should be transported must be written in a transport request.
    The entries are as follows:
R3TR FORM NAME (NAME = Name of the layout set)
R3TR STYL NAME (NAME = Name of the style)
    R3TR TEXT OBJECT,NAME,ID,L
(OBJECT = Text object, NAME = Text name, ID = Text ID, L = Text language)
If you want to transport a number of texts, you can use report RSTXTRAN to insert the individual text keys into a correction. The transport request must be entered and released via the transport system.
