Standard webdnpro component for employee search using using last Name

Can anybody please let me know Is there any SAP standard webdynpro component for the last Name of the employee.
My Requirment is i have field called Last Name i will give may lastname and serach then it should give the employee no and employee name..

SSO to SAP EP6 (for Employee Self Service) using WebSEAL

Hi SDN friends,
We are about to embark on a SSO implementation using IBM WebSEAL for SAP EP6 ESS (Employee Self Service) connecting through to an SAP R/3 4.7 server. Since the ESS solution for 4.7 still uses ITS services, this means that we have ITS iViews in the EP6 portal.
We have managed to look through the whitepaper 'IBM Tivoli Access Manager - Single Sign On for SAP NetWeaver - September 2005' described at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/ibm
We have the following queries, if anybody has a simple answer to these:
- Is it absolutely necessary to configure an SNC connection between ITS/EP6 and R/3 server to achieve SSO for the portal?
- Given that SAP EP6 references ITS IAC iviews, is it necessary for us to configure both ITS and EP6 for SSO, or can we simply configure EP6 for SSO? If so, is it also necessary to configure both for SSL?
- Otherwise, how easy is it to set up SSO in this scenario without SSL (for demo purposes)?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hello John,
regarding your questions:
ad 1) no. SNC is only mandatory if you use X.509-based SSO to R/3. You can also use SAP logon ticket-based SSO from EP to R/3 or usermapping that do both not require SNC.
ad 2) yes, you have to configure both EP and ITS at WebSeal.
ad 3) you can always omit SSL. However for production use, it is recommended.

BSP with F4 for employee search criteria ?.

Dear All,
I am new to BSP need your feedback for below requirments.
(1). I need to create a BSP page with input button to fill employee number - already done.
(2). Employee input button needs a F4 help that will pop-up new page to search employee ?.
(3). The pop-up page should be able to search using "search criteria for employee" ex: lastname, firstname, username. The result list that is shown, when double clicked should select the employee name into the input field in (1) ?.
Could you please give steps,samples for 2 and 3 ?.

I implemented this same same code,but in popup i am displaying the data in table view.Everythign is working fine,but in table view I made VISIBLE ROWCOUNT = 25, When I click on next page I am not able to see the next rows.
Is there anything i need to implement.I am using the tabel view for first time.

Custom search criteria for employee search in CRM Web UI

Hi,
I currently have some functionality in an implementation of enhancement spot BADI_CRM_BUPA_IL_SEARCH_EXT so that I can influence what search results are returned in component BP_HEAD_SEARCH.
It seems that this BADI is not called when looking for employees in BP_EMPL_SEARCH component.
Does anyone know where i can implement similar functionality as i have for the corporate account / individual account search, is there another BADI for this?

If a BADI is not getting called but you need it to be called then you can also call it in your custome code on component method.

Search contacts by last name

I have recently deployed a new BB Pearl 9100 to a user that is attached to a BES server w/ MS Exchange 2003. This is the users first blackberry coming from a Nokia device. They are used to viewing their contacts by typing in the first character of the contacts last name such as "S" for 'John Smith" and all contacts whose last name starts with "S" are displayed.
On the current BB 9100 I can change the sort option on the phone by going to Contacts | Options | Contact Display and Actions | Sort By: Last Name. But when the user searches the contacts and types the letter "S" for 'John Smith' on the Blackberry, the user is shown all contacts that contain the letter "S" (first name, last name, or company). I know that you can type"SMI" to narrow your query but is there a function on the device or a BES policy that can be applied to display/search for contacts in the manner that they are used to?
Any help is appreciated.

the 6233 does not search Contacts in both first names AND last names. It only searches only in what come first.
Exemple : searching for "Paul" does not find "Smith Paul"
Do I need a firmware update to fix this ??

Based on my knowledge, there is no related method to enforce all users using More Columns as the default search option in Outlook Address Book. We can just change the search option for individual Outlook user by remembering the last search using as I mentioned
above.

Search PhoneBook by Last Name - Feature available ...

Hey all,
I want to buy a new Nokia phone for my dad, he's been using his 6600 for the past 2 years and very satisfied with it.
The main feature that I'm looking for is to be able to search through the phone book using the first and last name.
Eg. If the name is TOM HARRIS, I can search using Tom or Harris, as need be.
Is the feature available in S60? If so, what is the cheapest S60 phone I can buy? I'm thinking of 6303 as of now.
If not, what phone would I find this feature in?

Thanks alot for the suggestions.
Although, the phones mentioned here fall heavily out of my budget. I can still consider 5320, which also has the S60 OS.
My dad def wouldn't like a touch phone, since he's more of a rugged-handling-user.
I'm kind of in a tussle now, since the phones are falling out of my budget. Are there no other cheaper phones from Nokia that have this feature? Doesn't have to be S60, just needs to have the feature to power search through the phonebook.
I'm looking for the most basic features, just the option to search through the phonebook. My dad barely SMSs anyone, just uses his cellphone for making calls and at times snapping a pic or two.

Need to search contacts by last name

I need to know how I can only search the contacts by last name. As it is right now, it search last name and first name. I only need the last name.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure I understand you? Do you mean when using the search function (Option key and magnifier) or when using the lookup function in the Phone, SMS and MMS applications?
In the case of the Lookup function, I described how to use last name only in that context.
In the case of Find, you cannot limit the field to which the search applies. You can only control the order of application databases to seach. It will search the database of the currently open application first. If you need a more advanced Find, I recommend www.intelligentfind.com.

Looking for simple search example using SELECT

Can anyone link me to an example of how to create a basic search page where the search criteria is selected in a drop-down list (<SELECT> in HTML)?
Here's where I'm coming from so you have a better idea of what I'm trying to do. I've created a search page by creating a method in my App Module java class using setWhereClause(), then dropped my view onto my web page as a read-only table, and finally dropped the method and parameter as a command button and input text field, respectively. This works fine, but I'd like to replace the input text field with a select box so that the users will not have to type in their search criteria. I'd like to populate the drop-down with data from a table, which will then be sent as the argument for the method.
I can create a ViewObject that contains the data I need, but I'm not sure where to go from there. I don't know how to create the drop-down list or connect the command button to the list. (Ultimately, I'd like to have the search text submitted when the drop-down changes, but I'll settle for pressing the button for now). I've fooled with using the LOV component, but without any luck.
Step-by-step would be great, but if you can point me to an example, some documentation, etc., that would be great too.

Standard text entry for Service line items using BDC

Hi,
I want to enter standard texts for service line items of RFQ created using BDC, if it is a line item i can pass RFQ_number+line_item number as TDNAME in SAVE_TEXT function module, but for Service line item what value we need to pass in TDNAME.
Is there anyway we can capture the package number in BDC of ME41?

Third party component for zipping and unzipping using password

I am working on a project wherein i have to zip and unzip a file using password .I downloaded a java component ,but was unable to efficiently unzip my zip files using password.
Can any body suggest me a java library/component that will accept a file and do zipping and unzipping with a password.
I will also be really grateful ,if somebody suggest me a component that would do the same above functionality using Streams.

Standard variable exist for calendar day that uses current working day

Is there any standard range Variable that exists for info-object calendar day that uses the manual entry for the lower limit and upper limit as current working day .

There are a number of standard variables 0n 0CALDAY - of processing type SAP exit, Input Allowed, Select-option or Range. You will have to check whether they give the default value of current date though as that will have to be looked up from documentation or user-exit code (or from the name of variable).
To shorten the candidate list, SE16 on table RSZGLOBV where
OBJVERS = D (Delivered version)
IOBJNM = 0CALDAY
VARTYP = 1
VARPROCTYP = 4 (SAP Exit)
VPARSEL = I, S (Range or select-option)
VARINPUT = 'X' (Ready for input)
It should give you about 6-7 variables that you can explore further. It is likely that none of these default to current date. Some of these are

I see that you are looking for current 'working' day as default. Very likely the answer is 'no' in such case.

Standard SAP Report for Vendors to dispaly Vendor No, Name and Balance

Can any one help me to display Vendor Report which contains Vendor No, Vendor Name and Vendor Balance from SAP Standard Reports (Not Customized Report). I have checked with all SAP Standard Reports, It seems that all SAP Standard Reports displays with only Vendor No not with Vendor Name.

MSS Employee Search WebDynpro Component

Hi,
Has anyone tried to change the WebDynpro component for Employee Search.
We need to change this component in order to register an event into portal when an employee is selected (the link for an employee is clicked) so that this event can be subscribed from WebDynpro ABAP iView placed in the same page. Has anyone done this change. Please suggest.
