Standards data migration process from Hyperion Enterprise to HFM 11.1.2.1

Client currently has HEM and we are implementing EPM v11. I am wondering if there is any standard process to migrate historical data from HEM 6.5 to HFM 11.1.2.1?

First you need to migrate to v9.3.1 HFM (Fresh implementation of HFM) and then upgrade from 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.1

We are planning to upgrade our system from Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.0 to HFM 11.1 and would be very grateful if you can help us in answering the below questions as I am novice in Hyperion.
Current Environment:
We have one Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.0 server and Hyperion 6.5 client is installed on two Citrix servers. We use Citrix servers to publish Hyperion client which users can use to access the Hyperion application. I have been planning the Citrix upgrade for Citrix servers and due Hyperion 6.5 incompatibility with Win2008 R2, we are also planning to do Hyperion upgrade to either 6.5.1 or to HFM.
Having no knowledge on HFM, I found out that HFM is web-based application and users can access HFM application through browser unlike Hyperion 6.5 which is accessed by Hyperion client.
I have following question if you can help me, please:
1. Do we need any client to access HFM or all the feature are web based?
2. If it is web-based, do we need any web-server or IIS can be used to provide access to HFM application to users?
3. How many servers (application, web-server, database server etc) would be suffice for 270 users, any estimate?
My questions might be very dumb for this forum but, I would really appreciate and thank any kind of help provided.

You should not proceed without expertise in HFM. The installation and configuration requires a much greater technical knowledge and support than Hyperion Enterprise does. Also, you should not perform a straight migration of Hyperion Enterprise to HFM since you have to consider the differences in dimensionality. I recommend you engage someone who has already done such a migration and has good experience with HFM.

Hi,
I assume the decision of changing software is due to some specific requirements regarding the information for the actual customer. So the question should probably focus on an analyse of what kind of information the new system should cover and how to provide it, rather than having a focus around a technical solution. If you just migrate to another software you will not take in to consideration the new specific advantages in that new software.

The easiest is using HAL (Hyperion Application Link). I have used HAL to extract data, organizations, account, subs, entities, etc.

As far as LSMW is concerned, BDC and LSMW both are use for loading data into SAP system. The difference is ,LSMW is loading tool by SAP where you can use various methods to upload, massage data or cleansed your data while loading into SAP from legacy system. The method can be BDC, BAPI, Idocs or SAP ABAP codes. Usually in BDC the user has to write an ABAP program or use other utility to load legacy data.
LSMW has been developed mainly for the Functional people who has no knowledge of the technical aspects of report or BDC in ABAP because its very user friendly and handy to use. So, simply they can upload the master records using LSMW.

I am in the process of planning a migration from on-premises Exchange 2010 to Exchange Online in Office 365. The on-premises Exchange environment is using Symantec Enterprise Vault v9 for archiving emails older than a certain number of months.
I am planning to use the cutover migration method to migrate mailboxes to Exchange Online. What is the best way to migrate email from Enterprise Vault to Exchange Online? Will the E-mail Migration Tool in Exchange Control Panel do the job or will a third
party tool need to be used?

You have a few options ...
a/ Export all the mail from each archive to a PST file, and then import that in to Exchange, or Office 365.
b/ Export all the mail from each archive back to the original mailbox.
c/ Use a third party tool, like Archive Shuttle from QUADROtech which can migrate directly to Office 365 from Enterprise Vault.

FireWire cables are dirt cheap and that's how you should be doing the migration. You might have to start over, wiping the new machine's HD, and restoring the software as described in the Everything Mac manual that came with it. See Best Practices and Setup new Mac for more details.

Confirmation on Date = Standard Date migration

Our 1st test upgrade from 11.0.3 to 11.5.9 is underway and I'm trying to understand the "Convert flexfield Data and DateTime value sets" step. This step deals with the Date format to Standard Date format in relation to Flexfields and/or Concurrent Pgm Parameters.
First off there appears to be two reasons for this:
1. Standard Date allows for individual personalization re: Display/entry format for date
2. Date format becomes obsolete in version 12 (of Apps)
The report used to list candidate Flexfields, Parameters and Value Sets lists 137 reports and 23 different Value Sets.
The documentation (11.5.9 Upgrade Manual, Category 4, Applications Technology, System Administration, Step 4) suggests that replacement Value Sets would be seeded and that custom Value Sets need to be cloned to utilize the new format. But, I only find one "Standard" Value Set (Standard Date).
Questions:
1. Should there be "seeded standard date value sets" ? Or, do we just clone the 23 identified ?
2. How are people dealing with existing Value Sets with a maximum size of 9 ? Standard Date format will NOT the size to be modified.
3. How confident can I be that Oracle has modified their programs to accept the new format as a passed parameter ?

Error when extracting data from Hyperion enterprise 6.3.1

I extracted data and at the end it's returning me an error for 2 entities. The problem it's extarcting data from an entity that doesn't exist. Any idea why?
There is no journal posted to it.

If you are sure the entity doesn't exist, trying using the purge entities feature. Go to the Entities module, from its main menu select Task->Unowned Entities and run the Unknown entities report, if the entity that is causing the problem is there, run the purge unowned entities task. Make sure you dont purge other entities that you may need.

Migrating reports from Crystal Enterprise 8.5 to BO Enterprise 11.5

We have an application configured on Crystal Enterprise 8.5 that uses unmanaged url reports method. Now we have to migrate the application to Business Object Enterprise 11.5. We are done with the installation of Business Object Enterprise 11.5 and configured the application on the new server, but the reports are not working. When we access these reports using URL http://HOST_NAME/VirtualDirectory/Report_Name.rpt?Init=ACTX:Connect we get the message "The page cannot be displayed".
I am are not able to find the exact reason behind this behavior. We have also checked the mapping of extensions in IIS and found that the every extension (i.e. .rpt, .csp ect) of crystal is mapped to aspnet_isapi.dll, where as in Crystal Enterprise 8.5 these are mapped to wcsinsapi.dll. Is there is some issue with the installation?

But to implement this we have to change the architecture of our existing application as presently we are directly accessing the report in URL to run the report. I was not able to found any solution that implements this architecture.
Does Business Object Enterprise 11.5 still supports this architecture?
If we use the architecture specified in the above URL for URL Reporting for Crystal Reports then how we can migrate all our reports to BOE 11.5? We have to use the Publish Wizard for that, to get the ids for our reports?
There was a parameter APSTOKEN how can we get a token. Can it be a static token that can be used by all the users to access the reports?

Automate the migration process from BW to BI

I want to automate the process of migration from BW to BI. Currently as we know this is done manually. I studied the program that is generated at runtime. How is this program triggered?
Is it possible to combine all the steps of migration into a single step where a user can input the details and then the migration takes place by itself?

How are you going to let your program decide what to do about a corrupt table etc?
The upgrade may stop at the active-table of a DSO for example.
IMO the upgrade is already highly automated.
An upgrade without human interaction is very risky.
If you are talking about migrating queries and workbooks, that's a whole other issue.

Data migration issue from 10.2 to 9.2

When oracle data is migrated from 9.2 to 10.2, there are new features in 10.2 like new tablespace called SYSAUX available and many new features. how to export data from 10.2 to 9.2 with manual export/import commands?? I have tried using 9.2 export utility to export data from 10.2 and imported in 9.2. But import tereminated with error sysaux tablespace not available in 9.2.

good documentation you can find in the transaction KCLJ

You also can find some documentation in the IMG:
=> Loans Management
=> Tools
    => External Data Transfer
      => Transfer Categories
         => Loans Master Data and Conditions
         => Loans Flow Data
You could use transaction KCLJ to upload the existing flows. For this you need a sender file with the flows you want to upload. This file you can create manually or by a report in the old/legacy system that writes the file in your file system.
The sender structure must be defined in transaction KCLL and you could use transaction KCLT to create or change a file to test the upload program.
You will also find some information in the online documentation.
Please be aware that the upload of flows must be tested very exactly. Iif you take over 'wrong' flows, this could cause serious problems in the future when you work with the contracts.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the mentioned products? I know both of them are used for Financial Consolidation. Just looking to understand if our company should stick with HE or move to HFM.

HFM is the next generation Consolidation product. It was built from the ground up with the latest technology to remedy some of the issues that faced Enterprise like scalability, centralised deployment via the web, and reporting improvements.
It is a completely different product to Enterprise in that it uses the dimensionality concepts of OLAP to enable a much lower level analysis. There are 12 dimensions to the product. 8 of these are fixed like Account, Entity, Year, etc while the remaining 4 are customisable based on the requirements. These custom dimensions essentially replace the Sub Accounts used in Enterprise and enable a far greater level of detail to be captured within a smaller Chart.
The decision the migrate to HFM would need to be made based on key pain points you are feeling with your current Enterprise application. What are some of the issues you are facing at the moment?
