  • Standby Database Progress Summary

    Hi you all, a couple months ago I installed and configured Oracle Cloud Control 12c, every thing it's working fine, except that I can't see the standby progress summary chart on Availabilty -> Data Guard Administration, it's not showing any data like it used to on Grid Control.
    What I am missing here
    Thanks.

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B12037_01/server.101/b10822/gui.htm#i1018803
    Please try above link , it has complete information what you are looking for.

  • Discoverer and Standby Database Summary Tables

    Are there any known problems with Discoverer attempting to write to read-only Standby database summary tables? Has anyone been successful running Discoverer against a Standby database?
    Regards,
    Chad

    I have not used synonyms in our system, but they can be accessed by creating custom folders in admin. In general, Custom folders are created to build complex query using advanced SQL which cannot be handled by discoverer end user editions. Custom folders can use tables, views, or synonyms.

  • Error when I click on the Crawler Progress Summary

    When I click on the Crawler Progress Summary button when the Primary Schedule is in the status of "executing"
    I get the error:
    Oracle Ultra Search Error
    ORA-20000: Oracle Ultra Search error
    ORA-01843: not a valid month
    ORA-06512: at "WKSYS.WK_ERR", line 179
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    if I click on the Crawler Progress Summary button when the Primary Schedule is in the status of "scheduled"
    I get the error:
    Oracle Ultra Search Error
    Failed to retrieve past statistics. Crawler may have been shutdown unexpectedly.
    Can anyone assist please?
    Thanks in advance, Sarah
    ps
    In the logs I get the results:
    =================== Crawling results ===================
    Crawling stopped at 20/05/02 14:45
    Total crawling time = 0:0:35
    Total number of documents fetched = 71
    Total number of documents updated = 70
    Total number of documents deleted = 1
    Total number of unique documents indexed = 64
    Total data collected = 678,608 bytes
    Average size of fetched document = 10,603 bytes
    Total indexing time = 0:0:2 for 678,608 bytes of data

    The crawler log file should have a bit more information on this "ORA-01843: not a valid month" error.
    Without looking into the log file my guess would be one of the URLs crawled contain an invalid timestamp string which
    cause an insertion error as oracle expected the date information to be in some format.
    Did the crawler shut down before finished crawling? Check the log file to see if the URL queue size is 0 before it terminates.
    If not then the crawler shutdown because of this ORA-01843 error.
    Because the statistics is reported by the crawler when it terminate normally, there will be no statistic data if it is a
    first time crawl and the crawler terminate due to the above error.

  • Monitoring physical standby progress

    Hi,
    On standby database:
    SQL> select max(sequence#) from v$log_history;
    max(sequence#)
    643
    SQL> select max(sequence#) from v$archived_log;
    max(sequence#)
    647 ---> This is the same as from primary database.
    SQL> select max(sequence#) from v$archived_log where applied='YES';
    max(sequence#)
    ----> Blank
    What is the meaning of blank result in the third query? What is the right method to check whether Standby database is in sync with primary or not?
    Database version: 9.2.0.1.0

    Are you sure, managed standby is turned on (alter database recover managed standby disconnect from session)? Obviously you receive archive logs from the primary,but they are not applied.
    SELECT PROCESS, STATUS, THREAD#, SEQUENCE#, BLOCK#, BLOCKS
    FROM V$MANAGED_STANDBY;
    This query shows, are apply processes running.
    SELECT ARCHIVED_THREAD#, ARCHIVED_SEQ#, APPLIED_THREAD#, APPLIED_SEQ#
    FROM V$ARCHIVE_DEST_STATUS;
    This query shows the relationship between received and applied (if any) archivelogs.

  • Errors in Ultra Search crawler's log file

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to configure Ultra Search to do advanced search on a set of attributes of my Portal items.
    After executed Synchronization Schedule in the Ultra Search Administration Tool, I found these in the Crawler Progress Summary:
    Documents to Fetch 0
    Documents Fetched 284
    Document Fetch Failures 0
    Documents Rejected 0
    Documents Discovered 284
    Documents Indexed 59
    Documents non-indexable 225
    Document Conversion Failures 0
    The number of non-indexable documents are 225 while the indexed documents are only 59. Then I looked into the Crawler's log file and found that all the almost processes tried to index Portal items got errors. The errors look like:
    http://winas10g.tinhvan.com/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwsbr_srchxml.execute?p_action=generate_item&p_thingid=276935&p_siteid=753&p_result_lang=en: Portal server returned an error message.
    Documents to process = 0
    Error message returned from Portal server is: User-Defined Exception.
    The successful processed documents look like:
    Documents to process = 186
    Processing http://winas10g.tinhvan.com/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwsbr_srchxml.execute?p_action=generate_item&p_thingid=276386&p_siteid=753
    Total documents successfully processed = 86
    Documents to process = 185
    Then when I performed search, I just can find the text that appear directly on Portal pages with URL address format: http://host:port/pls/portal/url/PAGE/pagegroup_name/page_name.
    Is there any error with my Utra Search configuration here? How can I index all the Portal items along with their attributes?
    Thanks,
    Vietdt

    Liya
    The log file for the crawler schedule should be explicitly listed in the information for the schedule. Please check the information for that schedule.
    This log file will be located in the log directory that you've specified in the "crawler" tab.
    Please locate the log file and let us know what you see in that.
    thanks

    Asked on the Aria2 forum: pending the "--async-dns=false" option and it worked.

  • Crawling table on 9i db and 9ias 1022 on NT

    HI All,
    I have installed 9ias and 9i on NT and I am trying to configure
    a database table source.
    The table is a 2 column table (id = number, details = varchar2
    (100))
    I have entered some text into the detail column like "Hello
    World";
    I have then set the search up to include the details column and
    then executed immediately the schedule.
    On searching for "Hello" any web sources and files are found but
    the table content is not found.
    Any ideas?
    Also, other than the standard logging when a schedule is run,
    can I up the logging level to see what is going on or are there
    more detialed files of what is happening during indexing
    somewhere.
    Thanks from a very bemused consultant ;-)
    Joel.

    You might check the following items to see if the table crawling
    is successful.
    - Is the 'Content Column' set to the column 'DETAILS'? If not,
    then the text in the column won't be indexed and you won't get
    search hit on the table record 'Hello'.
    - Check the status of the synchronization schedules to see if
    there is any error shown in the error log.
    For the second question, you can check the crawler log file to
    get more details on the indexing and crawling. The filename of
    the crawler log is specified in the 'Crawler Progress Summary
    and Log Files by Data Source' section of the synchronization
    schedule status page.

    I made this standby on October 2010. Today it is update, last archived redo logs are applied. But when I execute this query:
    select * from gv$archived_log where name='standby' and applied='NO';
    I see around 50 archived redo logs that appears as not applied, these archived redo logs are of November 2010. I don't know why they are registered on control file if standby is sincronized??
    How can I resolve this??
    Thanks a lot.

    I can recreate your situation if I stop apply on my standby for while
    and then issue this query on the primary :
    select SEQUENCE#, DEST_ID, applied from gv$archived_log where name='STANDBY';
    SEQUENCE#    DEST_ID APPLIED
          2474          2 YES
          2475          2 YES
          2476          2 YES
          2477          2 YES
          2478          2 YES
          2479          2 YES
          2480          2 YES
          2481          2 NO
          2482          2 NO
          2483          2 NO
          2484          2 NO
    SEQUENCE#    DEST_ID APPLIED
          2485          2 NO
          2486          2 NOIf I restart apply and issue this on the standby :
    select process, status, sequence#, block# from v$managed_standby;
    RFS       IDLE                  0          0
    RFS       IDLE               2487     132894
    MRP0      APPLYING_LOG       2483      92130I get the "APPLYING_LOG" as the standby catches up.
    If I wait a few minutes if I issue the query again
    select process, status, sequence#, block# from v$managed_standby;
    ARCH      CONNECTED             0          0
    RFS       IDLE                  0          0
    RFS       IDLE               2487     133052
    MRP0      WAIT_FOR_LOG       2487          0The message changes to "WAIT_FOR_LOG" as expected.
    So no November 2010, no gap, just logs that are behind it seems.
    So do you have a network issue?
    I set a delay on my system
    SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2='SERVICE=stdby DELAY=240';
    System altered.
    SQL> show parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2
    NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
    log_archive_dest_2                   string      SERVICE=stdby DELAY=240And it still shows "WAIT_FOR_LOG"
    And
    select SEQUENCE#, DEST_ID, applied from gv$archived_log where name='STANDBY';Does not show archive numbers backing up
    My best guess is you have a network issue. I would test by using SCP to send a file
    from the primary to the standby and timing it.
    Best Regard

    maybe
    Your "LOG_ARCHIVE_MAX_PROCESSES" is set too low. I have mine at 30
    This is worth be a look :
    Logs are not shipped to the physical standby database [ID 1130523.1]
    And this
    V$ARCHIVED_LOG.APPLIED is Not Consistent With Standby Progress [ID 263994.1]

  • ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress on mounted standby

    Hi we are using Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0
    We have seven different databases on different machines.
    Similarly we also have standby database for all databases on different machines.
    The standby databases are opened as follows:
    Startup mount;
    Alter database mount standby database;
    Alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session;
    When we tried to connect on standby database as Non-SYSDBA user we received following message (that I think is correct)

    Output for btsouth is correct,when connecting as non-sysdba user. On btnorthn obviously it is tried to execute a query. Is it possible you have sqlplus startup scripts (login.sql and/or glogin.sql) on btnorthn but not on btsouth?

  • I have the "5 gigs" of other data on my I-Phone Summary, if I do a system restore do I lose my In Game Progress on games like Cut the Rope and Angry Birds?

    Hey guys,
         I am having the issue where I have 5.5 gigs of "other" data appearing on my Iphone summary, I've seen a bunch of posts where people say you'll need to restore to get that to disappear, my question is when I restore do I lose my progress in games like Cut the Rope and Angry Birds? My girlfriend will kill me if she has to redo all those levels again, if anyone can shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it,
    have a great day,

    You can try a restore from a backup first. That should have no affect on your data. It is when you do a restore as a new device that you will lose all of your data, game data, etc.

    If I understand the second part of the question correctly you can use DBMS_SERVICE to create an alias on both servers.
    Then depending upon the ROLE they are in you can just connect.
    First an entry need to be added to the client tnsnames.ora that uses a SERVICE_NAME instead of a SID.
    ernie =
    (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
           (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = primary.host)(PORT = 1521))
           (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = standby.host)(PORT = 1521))
           (CONNECT_DATA =
           (SERVICE_NAME = ernie)
    )Next the service 'ernie' needs to be created manually on the primary database.
    BEGIN
       DBMS_SERVICE.CREATE_SERVICE('ernie','ernie');
    END;
    /After creating the service needs to be manually started.
    BEGIN
       DBMS_SERVICE.START_SERVICE('ernie');
    END;Several of the default parameters can now be set for 'ernie'.
    BEGIN
       DBMS_SERVICE.MODIFY_SERVICE
       ('ernie',
       FAILOVER_METHOD => 'BASIC',
       FAILOVER_TYPE => 'SELECT',
       FAILOVER_RETRIES => 200,
       FAILOVER_DELAY => 1);
    END;
    /Finally a database STARTUP trigger should be created to ensures that this service is only offered if the database is primary.
    CREATE TRIGGER CHECK_ERNIE_START AFTER STARTUP ON DATABASE
    DECLARE
    V_ROLE VARCHAR(30);
    BEGIN
    SELECT DATABASE_ROLE INTO V_ROLE FROM V$DATABASE;
    IF V_ROLE = 'PRIMARY' THEN
    DBMS_SERVICE.START_SERVICE('ernie');
    ELSE
    DBMS_SERVICE.STOP_SERVICE('ernie');
    END IF;
    END;
    /Check the status using lsnrctl status
    /home/oracle: >lsnrctl status
    Service "ernie" has 1 instance(s).
    erine is from the Oracle example, you can add whatever you want and then if you do a switchover or failover it is transparent to your users.
    See this for more details

    Hello;
    Script has to be run from auxiliary.
    Great details, but what I don't see is how you connect in RMAN.
    Example
    Start RMAN
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=sys/@recover2 auxiliary=sys/@reclone
    Recovery Manager: Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production on Wed Feb 22 14:50:31 2012
    Copyright (c) 1982, 2009, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
    connected to target database: RECOVER2 (DBID=3806912436)
    connected to auxiliary database: RECLONE (not mounted)Nothing in your tnsnames or listener jumps out as wrong. I copied them into my text editor and compared against my working ones.
    Generally for active duplication I start the future standby on a pfile NOMOUNT.
    Auxiliary Instance Initialization Parameters Needed :
    DB_NAME
    CONTROL_FILES
    DB_BLOCK_SIZE
    ( add extra parameters like DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT and LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT instead of using the SET command - clean up standby spfile right after duplication )
    Then start RMAN and finally run a single line duplication command.
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=sys/@primary auxiliary=sys/@standby
    RMAN>duplicate target database for standby from active database NOFILENAMECHECK;Best Regards
