Standered business package for BI reports with SAP EP Integration

Hi Friends,
I want to know is there any standered business package for integrating BI content with SAP enterprise portal.As i heard the business package come up with predefined iview and which can be customized as per our requirement .
I have worked on Cognos business package in my previous project .but current requirement is i need to dispay the BI Reports strucuture in Portal as folder heirachy with Icons.
I am using BI and EP portal version as 7.0.
please share the package name ASAP.

Hello Navakanth,
There is no need to upload any business package for standard BW reports.
You can generate BW reports and display them on portal by making BW iView.
Business packages are basically predeveloped contents, say template provided by SAP to save development time and effort.
If you want to use them then you need to have those Business packages.
Otherwise it is not at all mandatory for developing standard reports.

Need a Business Package for Vendor Portal with ECC as backend ?

Hello,
We are looking for a portal business package which can talk to backend ECC system and has the functionality to create/change/display POu2019s, Invoices, Inventory and reporting functionality. All this functionality needs to be available to Vendors via an External Facing Netweaver Portal.
I have gone through the list of BPu2019s available at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio and found some BPu2019s available for Buyers which has the above required functionality, however it has exposed ECC transactions directly via Transaction iViews which we cannot expose to Vendors.
Also there is one Business Package called Supplier Collaboration which delivers the required functionality, but unfortunately we do not have SRM/SUS components in the project.
Please let me know if you know business package to implement or if not best practices to achieve the functionality.

We have a reqt to install BP for ESS MSS compatible with ECC EHP 4 and identified below versions

BP ERP05 BUYER 1.41
BP ERP05 HR ADMINISTRATOR 1.11
....few others
Queries below -

Should we upload the above BP before we deploy main packages like ESS 1.41, MSS 1.41 and HR Admin 1.11?

3 - Installation sequence to be followed is PCUI_GP followed by Common Parts?
4 - I am unable to locate any proper installation guide for BP.

Problems with user mapping to download ESS Business Package for EP 6.0

Hi,
I am trying to download ESS Business Package for EP 6.0 but facing problems inspite of reading the SAP document on downloading Business Package. Here is my problem:
I start to download the package and to map the user ids. I am mapping the SDN user id to a SAP Service Marketplace user id as mentioned in the SDN website. But the download option is not working and gave an error when I clicked on the 'Download' link after user mapping.
It would help me a lot if anyone else who tried to download BPs after user mapping gave their feedback.
Can someone please clarify about the user ids and describe how can I download the ESS Business Package?

from the description you provide I can't tell what the problem might be, so to determine the cause we need more information on this. Screenshots of the error message would be ideal.
In general, the following needs to be done:
- you need to be signed in at SDN with your Service Marektplace s user id
- the user mapping for the data source 'Service Marketplace' needs to be maintained

Reports available in the Business Package for MSS and ESS

Hi,
I have searched sdn.sap.com throughout looking for a comprehensive list of reports available in the business packages for both MSS and ESS, i got a little bit of joy and found some of the MSS reports but not all on sdn.sap.com, can anyone please advise where i would find such information on both these packages, just to re-iterate, i am looking for a list of reports these business packages offer? any help much appreciated.

(1) ESS- We built our own custom PORTAL role/workset in which one of the worksets we created is called "Tools and Forms". Under that workset, we placed various pages/iViews that either are simple URL iViews that link to external documents and such (like vacation request forms since they do not do online leave requests yet) as well as a couple ot t-code iViews that run reports in ECC for the employee. Nothing very mind blowing there. Just some content creation on the portal side.....oh, and some config on the backend to create a Homepage Framework Area Page and all for it (I liked that part!)
(2) Wow....talk about perfect timing...I just had to document the way MSS sees the MDT reports in it's "reporting" area yesterday! haha Here goes the quick explaination....in configuration for MDT, you have various "scenarios". These kinda determine which "groups" of reports will show in MDT. For MSS for the Reporting webdynpro/service, the scenario is RPT0 (in ECC 5.0, at least). Soooo if you look at the function CODES assigned to RPT0, you will see several for Training and one for Accounting (Cost Centers)...you can reference the function CODES listed back to the "pool"/library of function codes a bit up/previous in the same config area for MDT(I think it is called "Define Function Codes"). However, there is one more piece you will see listed under RPT0....it is a DIRECT call to function MODULE "HR_HIS_READ" (this was a bugger to find because I could not find the "Maternity" report listed in the function codes and had to figure out where the heck it was coming from! haha). Anyways....what the function MODULE actually does is call the HR Information System (HIS) passing it the RPT0/MSS scenario. This returns the particular reports for Employee Data and Time&Attendance. You can see this if you run the HR_HIS_READ function directly and enter RPT0 for the second input value (first and third are not needed or you can just enter "*". Sooooo that is how the "magic" happens. Hope that explained it. From there, you can simply config you own scenario/reports to add into MSS if you like.

Business Package for Communication with NW04 and Exchange 2003?

Hi, we are evaluating opportunities to realize a groupware integration in the SAP Portal EP60SP2. A upgrade to Netweaver is planned, so the possible solution should work with Netweaver too. Our Exchange version is 2003.
I'm thinking about the standard SAP Groupware-Integration in combination with the Business Package for Communication.
Has anyone expirences with the Business Package for communication, Netweaver and Exchange 2003, yet?
I know, it's not officially supported, but maybe it works.
With the OWA-iViews we've got problems to implement our Styleguide and to devide into different iViews. The informations shown in the iViews of the Business Package are adequate and we would save ActiveX.
Is there another solution that works?
Are there other iViews from 3rd party developers, that show Outlook informations? Has anyone realized something like this in a project yet?
I would be grateful for any ideas.

Hi Sandra,
Please note that the Business Package for Communication was only available for SAP EP 5.0. Newer releases of SAP EP contain the groupware (GW) functionalities and some GW iViews automatically as soon as KM is installed with the EP. The integration with MS Exchange 2003 should work. If you look for iViews such as Send EMail, Create Appointment, Show availability and Room Calendar, you can use the iViews shipped by SAP. If however you need the EMail inbox or the personal calendar and tasks, then the native OWA iViews are the way to go. Is it also possible to use some of the functions of the Business Package for Sales for connecting to an SAP system 4.6C? I want to use the standard ITS webgui and hope there are some developed templates which I can use.

standard installation procedure:
- get instguide + relevant sapnotes
- check & apply prerequisites
- as for oracle: install database software oracle (using runInstaller) and apply patches
- install central instenace using r3setup and template r3central.r3s
- install database instance usind r3setup and template r3database.r3s
- perform post-installation actions..

Search documents with Business package for CRM 4.0 in EP

Hello!
I configured the business package so that I can browse through the different crm folder, but I can not add them to a trex index. When I add the folder "sapcrm" (described in the install guide) to an index, no documents are found.
I am using Business Package for SAP CRM 4.0 60.2.3

Business Package for SAP SRM

Hi experts,
We have installed SAP ECC 6.0 with SRM addon on 2 differents mandants.
Does someone knows if this configuration allows the use of the "Business Package for SAP SRM" into the SAP Portal ?

Hi Jean-Philippe,
as far as I know, the business packages and the portal integration can only be
used in a full SRM environment. The addon is restricted to several scenarios,
specifically for Self Service Procurement.
If you want to use all the features, you need to go for a full SRM Implementation.

Business Package for SAP Best Practices for Enterprise Portal

Hi,
We are implementing EP for ECC 5.0 and we have to web enable some FI transactions like FB50/fb60 etc. We want to use standard business package for this. The only business package that caters this requirement is "Business Package for SAP Best Practices for Enterprise Portal 60.1". When i checked the data source for this business package, the specification is for "SAP R/3 4.6B and above". Does this work for ECC 5.0 as well? In general does the R/3 specific business packages work for ECC versions? Please let me know. Thanks for the help. I promise rewards.

For EP 7.0, you would have to go for BP for Learning 1.0.
