Contact Toshiba service provider. They have access to Toshiba database and list of all used and also list of all compatible parts so I believe they can help you with this.
Y opinion is that nothing can be exchanged, especially on this specific product.

  • Help to pick-out a new windows 8 touch screen laptop

I Don't need to most expensive or the cheapest. I guess I want the most bang for my buck. I am not up-to-date on my PCs so I need your help. Just reply with your thoughts and ideas. I've always had Hp but it has been 3 years since I have bought a new laptop. I have a few android tablets but no new laptop. The main one I use now is a 64 bit windows 7 with 2.2GHz duel core 17" screen and 4gb ram. It still works just fine but I'm thinking about a faster PC and want the touch screen like my tablets. No resistive touch screens if they even make them anymore.
    Looking for the following
    windows 8
    touch screen
    i7 or same in amd
    8 gb or more ram
    not sure about the rest
Please give me your opinion or advice. if you could buy anything at best buy, which ones and why? PS I game on the PS3 (soon on the PS4) but not on the PC and I don't like lag or buffering in any way.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

hmmm, from what you are telling me, I would suggest this laptop:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+15.6%22+Touch-Screen+Laptop+-+8GB+Memory+-+750GB+Hard+Drive+-+Bla...
I would suggest because I am an asus fan myself, I have always used them as my go to manufacturer with my motherboards on any custom built PC i put together. They are a very reputable name, and are very well made. It should meet all your needs, has 750 GBs of hard drive space (gives you enough room for all the HD pictures and videos!) as well as plenty of ram and an i7 Processor. The ONLY thing i see that might be slightly better is a couple of the sony vaios have solid state drives, and that is a nice plus. Faster boot times, faster read/write speeds. But as you said you didn't want something to make you spend more if it was not a big difference and while it would be a difference, I don't see it being THAT big of a difference for yourself. If you can find a local best buy that has that Asus, I would suggest going in to check it out if its on display. Get a feel for it and see if you like the keyboard. That is a big MUST on buying a laptop, making sure you like the keyboard!
I hope this helped! post any other questions if you like!
Even though I work for best buy, my posts and thoughts are that of my own and do NOT represent best buy in ANY WAY.

  • 5800 touch screen life

What is the expected life of 5800 touch screen.
Is it "4-wire" or "5-wire" resistive touch screen?
Here is a comparison of touch screen technologies in short:-
    http://www.softtouch.co.in/compareTouch.htm
So as you can see life of the two types of resistive touchscreens is very different.
Also how much does "a milion touches" translate to in real life?
Should i be playing BOUNCE on 5800?

It seems only 4-wire Resistive touch screens require caliberation.
Since 5800 has caliberation settings the screen must be 4-wire Resistive touch screen.
    Thats bad  :-(
So I can't play bounce.(don't want to lose the  screen)
And Global Race was never playable at its horrible framerate.

  • Mapping unused Touch Screen Area to Soft Buttons / Commands

    Hello,
I've got a resistive touch screen, where the touch area is larger than the display area. I'd like to map "soft buttons" (e.g. ESC or num block ENTER) to the area outside of the screen -- similar to androids [BACK], [HOME], [MENU] buttons at the bottom.
On the linux-side, the device is handled by AD7879-i2c driver -> /dev/input/mouse0. Using xinput_calibrator (creating some X rules), I can calibrate the mouse to the "display" area.
    The two main questions are:
    * can xorg (or modules / w/e) still see the absolute coordinates, that are outside of the screen? (Compare to "a window that's just outside of the screen is not clickable")
    * is there a module that can map virtual hardware buttons to mouse-click-locations?
I'd love to do it in X because the calibration process using X and xinput(_calibrator) is very straight forward for the user.
    so long..

  • Touch Screen No Longer Works After Windows 8 Install on X220 Tablet

I was previously running Windows 8 Preview and did not have any problems with the touch screen.  I have tried two separate clean installs of Windows 8 Pro, and the only thing that will not work is the touch screen with my finger.  The pen still works, but not the finger touch.
The driver installation for both the pen and the multitouch fails with and error saying "A supported tablet was not found on the system."
    Help Please.

  • Touch screen mouse clicks

Hi, id firstly like to begin by saying i am only learning Labview at the minute so i appeal for some patience,
I have done the relevant searchers also but i am unable to find an answer to my question.
Ok i am using a 17.5" resistive touchscreen to track the path of a ball which is placed on the screen..I want the screen to communicate the x-y co-ordinates to an x-y graph on the front panel of my program. In my attemp at doing this i have used a previous labview example which uses a mouse click event structure. However this means the touchscreen acts as a second mouse. My problem is that the touchscreen is not communicating with the graph directly as it is controlling the entire pc screen meaning it can interfere with the program.
I have included a two page word doc with screenshots which hopefully can explain better what i mean. One screen shot is the display result of the Labview program, the second resembels the path of the ball on the touch screen
Page one of the doc shows the ball tracking when only the first quadrant of the screen is used.
Page two of the doc shows the result when the full touchscreen is used. as the touch screen acts as a mouse it is only able to track the ball when it is in the same locating as the graph on the screen.
I have found it difficult to explain my problem but i hope you gurus can understand and provide me with a solution!
I am hoping someone can give me an answer that will allow the touchscreen to communicate with the labview x-y graph only.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Please do not embed screenshots inside of Word documents. Not everybody has Word, and even if they do, most people don't like using Word 2007+. Attach the screenshots as PNG files. DO NOT ATTACH BITMAPS OR CHANGE THE EXTENSION OF BITMAPS TO GET AROUND THE BAN ON BITMAPS. Don't worry I'm not screaming specifically at you. It's just my normal scream sentence.
As for your issue, there's a couple of things that are unclear from your description. Before offering a solution it's better to understand the objective here. The example you are using was specifically designed to only track mouse movements over the graph. However, your description seems to imply that you want to draw on the graph regardless of where the mouse is on the screen. Is this correct? If so, then you need to use the Input Device Control VIs to poll the position of the mouse, as that returns the mouse coordinates globally (search the examples for "mouse" and look at the "Basic Input Demo" example). Second, why an XY graph? Are you drawing a bouncing ball over some graphs? I would think you'd want to use the picture control.

  • Touch Screen Support for OS X

    Hi,
I am fairly new to OS X, recently making the jump from Windows.
And I haven't looked back and don't think I will!
I have come across quite a few problems during the transition when it comes to hardware, but usually it came down to my error with configurations.
I am struggling with one issues and hoping someone in the apple community has overcome this and can maybe share the knowledge?
    Here goes:
I have an AOC e2239Fwt multi touch monitor, works exceptionally well for a cheap touch screen with windows 7.
However it hardly fuctions at all with MAC OS X, I have tried numerous touch screen device drivers with a glimmer of hope it may make mine function correctly.
But they didn't, I have tried imtouchbridge, eol and 3m drivers non of which have worked!
It recognises its a touch screen but I have to put 2 fingers on it to show the mouse cursor, but then its as if I have left click held down and it also is about 2 inches away from any of my fingers!
If anyone can help it would be massively appreciated and if you can't, thank you for taking your time to read and consider.
    Thanks in advance
    Paul

unfortunately, the two drivers above are basically the same TPMon TouchKit drivers. I have used these with a resistive screen I had but the AOC doesn't appear to like them.
Running parallels, the drivers from the AOC site are working perfectly. unfortunately i haven't been able to callibrate the screen as of yet so that is a little annoying but it isn't far off.
In Mac os i am yet to find any useful drivers.  I did read on one site that touch-base have some drivers that can handle the AOC but they charge £180 for a single license and i dont know if i can justify that for the gimic of touch screen in mac.
of course, if anyone out there knows of a similar driver to the touch-base one i would be only too happy to try it. i believe the have a gesture recognition package that can be run along side the driver to open up a few more features.
sorry this isn't particularly helpful but hopefully it opens a few doors to ideas in people.
I'm keen to see how this all turns out and if anyone manages to get the monitor running.

  • N-Series NEEDS a high-resolution touch-screen!

    Dear Nokis,
If you only do one good thing in 2008 please let it be an N-Series S60v3 phone with the following specifications:
    *Larger, higher resolution touch-screen.
    *Alloy casing, not all plastic.
    *5MP camera with Xenon flash.
    *640*480 30fps video recording.
    *Integrated GPS.
Hell, basically all I want is a phone which has all the features of the N82 but with the larger, higher resolution touch-screen. I use my N82 for internet when I am out of the office and even with Opera Mini browsing is a complete pain in the **bleep**. A touchscreen would help with browsing so much it would completely change the way we use the phones, and a higher resolution would make it so much more practical.
If you need to make the phone bigger then so be it, just PLEASE give us a higher res touchscreen!

  • N97 mini Hang-up, sudden reboots, touch screen non...

Malfunctioning started 5-6 months after purchase.
At first few times no any possibility to answer a call - sliding on screen when keys locked or touching answer screen button, or green button after display/key unlock did not worked.
Only possibility to talk with caller - call back immediately (it works) an excuse for that problem.
Lately phone started to reboot after ending calls or after (or while) using as internet connection modem. Or sometimes rebooted by itself just standing by on table...
Sometimes keyboard does not work, working only screen.
Then become next problem - or touch-screen does not respond or respond awkward or totally different as should.
Then touch-screen malfunction together with keyboard not functioning.
After a month spent at sellers repair first 3 days - everything worked as should. I started to believe - problems gone, but that happiness was only for three days..
Question - is this model is most buggy faulty or so? Nearly 400 EUR for top series N class disaster is quite a big money... How nokia thinks to solve this problem? As I understood I'm not the one and only with that big list of problems for 400 EUR...
    Nokia 1611, 2210, 3110, 5110, 6210, 6310, 6310i (up to these models totally satisfied)
Then don't remember model, then E50 (mostly happy), then N97 mini - phone with briliant keyboard, but poor touchscreen, then business phone E07, phone that can not make a photo of contract, invoice or business card. poor design of usb port and 5 months at service did it - my nowadays phone is Apple. Company gave me Asha 300, so frustrating, that I use my old E50 instead...

Yesterday evening I gave back my faulty item to repair center. They said that, previously service center most likely couldn't find the cause of problem and just renewed the firmware.
Strangely - Yesterday morning talk with Nokia Customer care center figured out, that there were NO ANY registered repair or update action made by authorized service (and must be  registered). May be nothing was done or service center is not so "official".
Thank Good, yesterday the phone showed up the malfunction and guy said - most likely it is resistive touch sensor problem that should be replaced, because it after some time wears out or is tended to bend or so - so it becomes malfunctioning and should be replaced...
Strange - if the phone costs ~400 EUR the touch-screen sensor should be more wear-tear, bend or any problem resistant to average phone use conditions. To face this problem every 3 to 9 months - doesn't seams to be fair offer for that price...
Today I was promised to have a call from service - within what time phone will be back to me at working order... Still waiting.

  • Please do me provide with software which can support flipping and sreaming page on 27" iMac touch screen display

Please do me provide with software which can support flipping and sreaming page on 27" iMac touch screen display

    IakovM,
See below for a few links.
You should ask the people at Troll Touch if the have a software to create a user interface.
Usually, the maker will provide programmers with the programming codes and a interface guide line on how to program the different gestures.
I know that PQLabs as a SDK for their touch screens.
With the programming codes in hand, any good Flash or HTML 5 programmer can setup a web site that will take advantage of the touch screen.
One thing I can tell you is that with touch screens based web sites, when it comes to links or buttons to push, everything needs to be bigger than on a standard web site. People will be using their fingers to do the clicking.
A finger is a much bigger pointer than a mouse pointer!
So links or buttons that are too small or to close to screen edges will be hard to click.
You can look at these for possible solutions:
TUIO is an open framework that defines a common protocol and API for tangible multitouch surfaces.

  • IPod Touch 16GB 1st Generation - touch screen area stopped working

Hello there, the last 2 days I'm experiencing a problem with my 16GB 1st Generation iPod Touch. One cm under the top of the touch screen and for about 10mm height, the screen is not functioning. I noticed this when I was on the AppStore and tried to buy an app. Exactly at the "Buy" button and on full width the multitouch screen doesn't work at all (touch/scroll/zoom etc.). I use OS 3.0 and I've installed it from my PC with the latest iTunes. I use the latest OS since it's release day and only yesterday the problem appeared.
The iPod is protected with silicon case since day 1, also has a screen protector and it's never dropped, scratched or anything that could cause this problem. I believe the problem/bug/dysfunction it's software related, even tho, I've restored the iPod erasing all it's data to the factory settings with the last OS, the problem remains.
Do you suggest me to downgrade back in version 2.0 and see what happens? Do I have to to downgrade to version 1.0? Please advise cause here in Greece the service doesn't exist as in the rest European countries and as in the rest of the world who has official Applestores.
I use both Mac and PC with my iPod Touch, so you can suggest solutions for both platforms. (Leopard/Vista)
I'm waiting for a response as soon as possible, thanks in advance and please advise me as an experienced user
The iPod Touch is bought from US and brought here in Greece on January 2008. It's the iPod with the January Update in case you're wondering.
    Thanks for your time,
    Vangelis Makridakis.

Seems that the problem isn't software related.
I've downgraded to 2.2.1 from 3.0 and nothing happen.
I can't buy apps from AppStore, I can't join a WiFi network and much more...
Apple made *faulty digitizers* (touch screens) cause as I've searched on the internet, many others have the same problem. Since it's out of warranty, Apple is covered... BUT customers should know that even if they don't drop their device or if they protect them, no matter what, one day they won't be able to touch some random areas of their screens.
As a customer _I demand answer_ and also a replacement program for faulty digitizers since will be confirmed that the customer never dropped or scratched the faulty device.
Also, since in Greece (where I live) we don't have Apple official representation as the rest of the European countries, I probably will have to pay A LOT to Rainbow S.A for a digitizer replacement and also to wait about a MONTH to get my device back.
Thank you Apple for making perfect products with the chance becoming lemons instead of apples.
    Vangelis.

  • How to best clean your (my) iPhone touch screen?

    Hi all,
I've had a total of two touch screen mobile phones in my life: a Samsung Jet and my current iPhone 4, and with the former, keeping the screen clean was quite an ordeal, as it acted like a magnet for finger marks, but at least when I wiped it clean with a soft microfiber cloth and a soft detergent, it indeed looked clean. Not so my iPhone, which, as I understand it, has a special hydrophobic coating on the screen. Said screen looks clean enough when I'm done cleaning it, but I see some tiny droplets of cleaning fluid remaining on the screen for several long seconds after I'm done wiping it with the (clean...) microfiber cloth, so I'd like to know if there's a better method for keeping my iPhone relatively clean, aside from exhaling on the glass and wiping the condensation immediately, of course...

You've got to be sure not to grind any dirt particles into the glass, as these can leave scratches in the coating or even the glass. The glass is scratch resistant, but not scratch proof.
I've had every iPhone since the original, and have always gently wiped the screens with a damp (not wet) cloth. No solvents or alcohol, just damp from ordinary tap water. Then, a light buff with microfiber to finish it off.
I've never scratched a screen using this cleaning method.

I have purchased the Lenovo - LI2341T 23" IPS LED HD Touch-Screen Monitor.  When I purchased it, the salesman told me that other "brands" of monitors were better due to dust build up along the edges of the monitor might block something causing the screen to jump and waver.  When I got home I compared the lenovo to the others brands and do not see any difference in the specifications.  So I investigated further and found various methods of touch screen sensing.  Can a lenovo staff member tell me which is used in this monitor.  From what I gather there is Resistive film,  Capacitive, SAW, Infrared optical imaging, and Electromagnetic induction.  Which one?
