Star icon missing in contacts

I cannot find the star icon in the contact list that allows you to identify the contact as a farvorite. What am I not doing or what is wrong?

Well, I finally found the answer and I knew it would be simple. If you are in easy mode and that is what the person did that set up the phone for my wife and I the star for favorites will not show up. In normal mode the star shows up but not in easy mode. Was only looking for the answer half the day and found it myself. Thanks

My HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw screen is frozen on hp logo and energy star icon. It has only printed the test page, and will not print otherwise. I have tried unplugging for 60 seconds, and even uninstalled it and reinstalled it with the latest download - still no change. None of the other icons outside the screen work either (home, help, etc.) about all i can do is turn it off and on. Also, I obviously cannot make copies etc since I cannot access any of the functions. Please help! and thanks in advance!

Hi , I read your post and see that the printer is frozen on the HP Logo and Energy Star Icon. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
I have provided some steps to try to see if we can resolve this issue. Disconnect the USB/Network/FAX and power the printer on Standalone. Check and remove any packaging material inside the printer and toner. Do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation. If the issue persists, perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and in case of a power switch keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power chord. Update the printer's firmware, make sure you run this through a USB connection. It may not detect the printer in this error state though. Software and Drivers. Select Option 2 and wait for the page to load and then select the link for firmware. I can send a private message with some another step to try.

Airplay Icon missing from iTunes 11.0.2.26 (PC) and Genius Sidebar

After upgrading to iTunes 11.0.2.26 my Airplay icon is missing. I've tried the simple fix that reportedly works where you switch to mini player, see the Airplay icon and then it stays when you switch to normal mode.
Firstly the icon does appear but it is grayed out and only pops up a volume control. It does not detect, display, or allow you to select output devices, Second, it is still missing from the normal size window.
This has been tried with and without restarting iTunes as well as reinstalling iTunes. I'd go for a downgrade but then it fails to work with the new iPads at all. I discovered that with my first iPad mini where it required an iTunes upgrade.
Genious Sidebar
I figured Id just downgrade to 10.6.3 to get the genius sidebar back afterwards. WRONG, it will not synch or do anything without the newer versions of the iTunes software. Genius sidebar was the best thing about the software and they kept taking it away, brought it back for a few versions, then took it away again. It was and remains my favorite way to shop for new music. The remaining so called genius functions are just plain lame.
Airplay Icon Missing from Itunes on PC
I can hit my Airplay devices such as Apple TV and Zeppelin Air with iPads, iPods, and iPhones. Just not from the PC Console where is previously enjoyed it the most. So I know the devices are fine. They are all on the same physical wired and wireless network. Even when I put the Zeppelin on the wired LAN there is no Airplay icon in iTunes on the PC.

NOW! i can tell you in my case it was nothing to do with your router or antyvirus ip connection.
my pc is auto updating every sunday and icon has disappeared on monday i realized this fact and i have started uninstalling windows updates one by one after each uninstall i have restarted PC each time always run itunes and check if airplay icon is back. AND THER SHE WAS fiew windows updates uninstalled and icon is back in itunes
Now i can not remember what Update it was KB28 ..... something i didnt wright it down at the time i hope this will help someone.

As I understand it, it seems like a part of the screen isn't visible at the bottom. I would start by quitting all the running apps on the iPhone:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
I would next check to see if an Accessibility option enabled making the screen larger with iTunes:
Use Accessibility features in iOS
Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to any computer with iTunes installed.
In iTunes, select your device.
From the Summary pane, click > Configure Universal Access in the Options section at the bottom.
Select the feature you would like to use and click OK.

Why is the Edit and + feature missing in Contacts?

Since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 the "Edit" and "+" feature is missing from Contacts.

Already tried that and it did not fix/repair the issue. From other similar posts I gather it might be that the Contacts on my iPhone are ONLY on my iPhone. I do not sync them with my home computer (no longer an option especially in that iCloud is not supporting Windows XP) and do not sync with my work computer because I prefer not to have 600 contacts on my iPhone. The problem only appeared after updating to iOS 5, so I am surmising it has something to do with that and the features of or expectations that everyone will migrate to iClould. Sort of BS if that is the case because it appears I am being given no choice but to upgrade my home computer to Windows 7 (or a Mac) and put everything on the cloud.

Friend with 3G iPad no FaceTime icon in my Contacts?

Unlike other Apple contacts/friends and family, Deb (who has a 3G new iPad) has no FaceTime icon in the contact info for her on my WiFi iPad 2 but does have that icon in my iPhone 4 contact info. Why?

Make sure she has registered her apple ID with the iPad and that she has FaceTime set up on her iPad.

I had the same problem. It also caused some issues in CS3 with the selection tools.
Remove Nik software if it's present in your plugins folder. For me the specific folder that fixed it was named "penpalette." Once I deleted this the icons came back and the program worked much better and more smoothly.

As you can see, icons are missing not only in the gnome menu, but also
in firefox (gtk app). Therefore, I think the problem is more related to GTK?!
Yes, I tried serveral icon themes and engines, no success.

[Solved] Gnome 3 Shell - Icons Missing After Update

After my last update session, some icons went missing in Gnome. Even more unsettling, only some are missing. From what I can tell, my application icons haven't gone anywhere, but things such as minimize, restore, close, etc. are 404. I searched the forums, but all of the other problems seemed to be different problems (e.g. application icons were all bunched up/missing, desktop icons "missing", etc.) I feel like I should probably have more icons in the folders, too, but I haven't looked in there before the problem to be sure. Also, Alt+F2 "r" doesn't make a difference, the shell reloads but the icons are still AWOL. If anyone has any ideas, I am all ears.

I ran gnome-shell --replace to try to get some logs out of it. Apparently, it doesn't know how vector files work any more.

Nokia Maps Icon Missing?

Good day everyone.
i have just bought this new Nokia Asha 303 phone and i thought the software installed in the phone is incomplete because i cant seem to find the shortcut for nokia maps. I installed the nokia suite in my pc and check for software updates and it is up to date. I already tried factory reset, but nothing, still the same. Is it possible to restore the missing icon? thanks for any help.

Right after having my new phone I started exploring its possibilities testing applications from Ovi store. At some point I got some problems with an application so I decided it would be a good idea to try a reset... I first try with an app settings reset to defaults (from the s40 Configuration menu, not the Restoring Factory Defaults menu)... right after that I realized I didn't have Nokia Maps icon in any of the lists of installed applications, nor I could found any loader in both file units, phone and memory card, for it... I was not 100% sure the icon vanished after settings reset, but I supposed it, so I thought something went definitely wrong and I decided to try reset to factory defaults as I just started testing the phone so I hadn't any information saved there to lose... what I could not expect it's that a factory reset will not yield the software at the same very state as what I received short time before. In addition to not getting back the Nokia Maps icon, I noticed another difference in the system, I have an Introduction icon in the list of default applications, that triggers a video playback showing the phone basics... now when I push that button, the playback starts but only for the audio, and instead of the video I show a black screen with a NOKIA logo in the center, the same very screen I see when boot up the phone. Short icons missing - in Win & for easy DMS 7.0

Hi SAP Folks
When we intalled easy DSM ver 7.0 (unicode) in Windows 7 , what we found out was the shortcut icons missing like create folder, create document .
It was possible only with right click option of mouse/keypad
When in Windows XP for the same easy DMS version 7.0 it is visible
Request to help in letting know what is missing .

Anubhav is right. But at the moment EasyDMS 7.1 is in the ramp-up phase till march 2011. Afterwards it should be available in the SAP Service Marketplace.
