Star Ratings disappear after ACR and saved as jpegs

I apologize in advance if this topic has come up before and I've somehow missed it. I've recently experienced an anomaly regarding the star ratings that I apply to our RAW files in Bridge CS3. Generally we'll star the RAW files while the client is still on the set to get their favorite picks. We then will batch process all of the files and save as HiRez jpegs. The client's picks then go into a "Favorites" folder and the rest into one we call "More" just in case the client finds that their picks don't jive as well as they thought they would in their layout. So, that being said, recently we've had two occasions where "some" of the ratings didn't make it through to the processed files. We're running both a G4 with Tiger and a G5 with Leopard. Both systems have the latest updates. The most recent occurrence happened on the G4, and I believe the other time it was on the G5, though I can't be totally certain. We use both machines to batch process the images.
Any help or insight would be extremely appreciated!

It could be possible that the cache had no time to rebuild, have you tried to purge the cache for folder using the tools menu. Also whenever something is behaving other then before in Bridge you should also try to refresh the preferences with holding down option key when restarting Bridge. After this don't forget to reset the prefs to your wishes.

I click open in photoshop and choose my raw image from folder. I edit colors, clarity tones sharpness etc from the pop-up.Then click open image. It opens in photoshop. What JPG quality settings? What JPG colour format? Will another picture viewer show better? Are the display options in the picture viewer which might make it worse?

I've created a "header" in Illustrator. When I send it to someone to be used in a report.. it comes up "blurred" or, with a white background. I tried opening in Photoshop and saving as JPEG, but get same results. What do I do?

Can anyone give me suggestions .. after creating a "logo" or a "header" to be used by someone else in a presentation or report.. I can't figure out how to make the background transparent, and keep the image clear. Created in CS6 Illustrator.. tried opening in Photoshop and saving as JPEG.. no luck.

Have you tried exporting for MS Office?
You could also try exporting as transparent PNG with 144 ppi.
On top of that: don't scale it in Office.

Artboards disappear after closing and reopening a file

My coworkers and I have been running into an issue when we use documents that have multiple artboards. After we do ouer work, we save and close the file. When we go to reopen the file, all but the first artboard have disappeared. Looking in the Artboard panel, the original artboard counts up after every save.
For example, say I were to create a new file and add a couple artboards. After saving, closing, and reopening the file, the additional artboards would be gone, the artwork on those boards would still be there, and the original artboard would be labeled as "Artboard 2". If I were to add the missing artboards again, the same issue would occur and reopening the file would have the first artboards labeled now as "Artboard 3".
I am using Illustrator CS6 and saving the files as an .ai with the default settings.

Are you saving locally? Over a network? Mac or PC?

Third party AU audio units disappear after archive and install

so after an forced unfortunate archive and install, my third party AU have disappeared from DP and Logic. they run fine in standalone. how can i get them back into logic?

Move them back from your old archive, or reinstall.
When you do an archive and install, your old system gets removed and a new fresh system put in place. If you had plugins in the system components directories, obviously they aren't gonna be there on a new fresh system.

I've got many static XFA forms, which does not behave the same way after filling-in and saving in Acrobat. Mosto of them updates the XDP datasets entry inside the XFA, but some of them does not. The result is, that after extracting the XDP from the pdf Form, the datasets contains just the default values and not the filled-in values.
Are there any rules for updating the datasets entry shen saving filled form?

Star ratings disappearing

For some reason, the star ratings I have given to themes in
the 'highest rated' section keep disappearing - only that
particular section of kuler... any ideas?

Unfortunately no. I believe there is a petition floating around this board that you can sign for that (I believe I did as I would really love this feature).

Many of my ratings disappeared after upgrade

I recently upgraded to the latest version of iTunes for Windows and many of my ratings disappeared. There is no detectable pattern to which ones are gone, but more than half of them are no longer there. I'm running version 5.0.1.4

However, I wanted to share some additional peculiar behavior. I have started going through my 1500+ songs that have to be re-rated and I am seeing really strange stuff. While rating one song, the previous rating will suddenly reappear on the song below the one I am listening to. Or, occasionally, the rating reappears on its own as I begin to listen to a song with a disappeared rating. This makes me wonder if the ratings have actually disappeared, or if some glitch is keeping them from showing. Any ideas?

Both my CD drives have disappeared after Nano and iTunes install...

My girlfriend has installed her new nano and itunes from the install Cd that came with it, immediately after install both her CD drives have now disappeared from Explorer and disk management.
Anyone had this problem and knows how to fix it? Urgent help is needed!

Why do I get a loss of quality video when placing titels or grading in FCE. Even after rendering and saving to the final product? The video starts to get shaky

Whenever I place a title in my video in FCE, the part where I placed it losses its quality. Its getting shaky and blurred.
Even afther rendering and saving it to the final end product. The same problem occurs when I'm collor grading. I use the internal tools for titels and grading of FCE.

Signature is invalid after signing and saving

Hi,
I've been messing around with this problem for days and I don't find a solution.
I've a PDF document I created in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2. This document will get populated with data from an XFDF file. After that, user can input data and data will be retrieved via Webservices too.
After finishing, the user has to sign the document and then it will be saved back to the server with a submit function.
When I reopen the signed document (or even after I click "save" without sending back to the server and reopening it), the signature is invalid. When I click on "Compare signed version to current version", I get the report "The pages are identical" and when I close the report, the signature isn't invalid anymore. Acrobat then writes: "At least one signature requires validating".
There are some JavaScript functions in the document which may cause the problem, but I already eliminated most of them, with docReady events, so they won't be executed on start.
Is there a way to debug the PDF document?
I've found some debugging hint on the internet from 2003 or 2004, but I can't even find the menus right now, so I think, there must be a new way for this in Acrobat 9.
I hope, someone can help me, this problem really drives me crazy.

In the interest of full disclosure, I got the answer to the problem from one of my distinguished colleagues, I'm just the messenger in this case.
The problem is that the form adds some items to the Arzneispezialität / Zusatztext combobox which are there during signing but the form doesn’t remember that it did this on the next form open.
Since this field is included in the MDP+ signature and the field has changed in the re-opened version vs. the signed version, the MDP+ signature becomes invalid.
XFA has a feature that remembers these kinds of things for you but it is turned it OFF. Please open the attached screen shot to see the control in question.
So, you can either (1) turn this feature ON (Automatically), or (2) write some script to clear the combobox items prior to signing or (3) write some script to repopulate the combobox items on the subsequent open to match the items that were there during signing.

After archiving and saving, still re-encodes everything

G'day. All I want to do is be able to save a finished product, after I have burned a couple of DVD's, then later reopen the project and just burn another disk. Every method I have used to do this; save, archive, .dmg'd ; when I reopen the project ( and not changing ANYTHING ) and go to Burn, iDVD re-encodes everything all over again. Is there a way shy of just telling Toast to duplicate an already burned DVD to have iDVD just use the already saved, or archived or dmg'd and not re-encode the works? I just have to be missing something..

You can also copy previously burned iDVD discs with Disk Utility...

By the way, the archive feature of iDVD is not meant to save all the encoded assetts. Instead it is meant to pull all the source files needed by a project in order to be able to reencode another version later on.
See when you create an iDVD project, the project is not very large, a couple megs, since it doesn't retain source files but instead knows where to get them. For example, your iMovie project might be 20GB. When you open an iDVD project for that iMovie project, the iDVD project simply knows that the source files are over in that iMovie project. If later you moved the iDVD project to another computer, you would lose that link to the other source files and woulodn't work anymore.
The archive function is meant to pull all the source files from where ever they exist on your computer into one project file. So now that iDVD archive file will be 20+ gigs. Now THAT file/folder you can move to other computers because it is all self contained now. But the process of encoding your assetts would have to be done again.
