Star trek digital copy disapeared from itunes impossible to reload
I recently wanted to install on my ipad the digital copy of StarTtrek. I found out it had been removed from iTunes and I was enable to install it back.
Any suggestion?
Here's what worked for me: I had to click on the "store" menu at the top of the screen, click "deauthorize computer" (meaning disconnect my itunes account from this computer) then when it had been deauthorized click "authorize computer" and the movie started playing. I also had to download Direct X but that was because I had no sound..
Hope it helps. I know how much of a pain it is to scroll through questions exactly like yours that nobody's answered.

Mac ejecting Star Trek digital copy
Hi--I've just purchased the Star Trek 3-Disk edition containing the digital copy. I've tried inserting the digital copy disk a dozen times and it seems to try reading and then ejects it. I've tried other disks and dvds and they work fine. Grateful for any help/advice.
No difficulty here loading the disk. Once loaded the only way to get it to play is to open iTunes and click 'Star Trek' in the sidebar under 'Devices'. You will be asked to enter the code printed on the insert slip, then the film should be transferred to your iTunes library (I haven't tried this as I've no wish to clutter the library up). The digital copy is standard definition, stereo only.
If the disk won't load it may be scratched or damaged in some way. Can you try it on another computer? -
HT1539 Can't restore my digital DVD copies from iTunes or from DVD
I downloaded the digital copy DVDs to my computer. About a year later the hard drive crashed and I lost all my data.
After replacing the hard drive, I was able to re-download all the iTunes purchases except I could not restore my digital DVD copies from iTunes. When I try to copy again from the DVD, it reads "this code has already been used. codes can only be used once." Even though I am logged in with my Apple ID, which should be linked to the code that was used and I am on an authorized computer.
It seems I should be able to restore the digital copies to my computer even though they are single-use codes...dspedersen wrote:

You are not attempting to restore a digital copy. You are attempting to redownload the digital copy.
Did you make a backup of this file along with the backup of all other important files on your computer? -
When copying playlist from itunes to nano3rd message comes saying 9 of songs can't be copied to ipod cos of file type. These 9 are all from same album, all ACC and all copied fine when I copied the album itselm some weeks ago. Rest of playlist was ACC too. P.S. album is a CD-R copied version-is this an issue? I never laughed in all my life. Here I was, inserting the cd Dance with Me, thinking it's not going to copy the whole thing. yeah, right.
Sure, it prompted me, Do I want to replace the songs, so of course I said "no, don't replace the songs". and guess what it did. It copied the whole cd (at least I got my two songs).
I went into the itunes library, and sure enough, all the songs were there twice. So what did my intelligent brain think of? I just unchecked the doubled songs and stuck my ipod into my computer and it synched up and I got what I wanted.
Now what did I do wrong when it prompted me. I clicked on "don't replace" and it replaced them anyway.
Am I dumb? or is itunes stupid?

Itunes 10.6.1.7 problem: when I change the file "media type" from 'Music' to 'Podcast' the file disapears from ITUNES. I do this via (1) right click, (2) select 'Get Info', (3) select 'options' tab, and (4) change media type. What is the problem?

Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.

it's been a while that Im unable to copy music from itunes to my iphone. I updated my device to the latest version of IOS 5.1.1 and made sure no jailbreak is installed but still not working. please assist.
Assuming you are not manually managing your music, verify the following:
You are using the latest version of iTunes
On the summary tab of your iTunes sync settings you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos"
In your music library you have checked all the songs you want to sync to your phone
There are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
You have authorized your computer for all Apple IDs for purchased music you want to sync to your phone (in Store>Authorize this computer)
You have checked "Sync Music" on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings
When everything looks correct, sync your phone. -
Import/copy music from Itunes to imovie doesn't work
I tried to add Music from my Itunes libary to Imovie (open Itunes/add to libary) but when i click Itunes or Music in Imovie there is no Music shown, with garage band it's the same problem.

I do - always - Copy out from iTunes to an Standard Audio CD (as this is plain .aiff 16-bit 44.1kHz)
And the files on this CD I use in my movie projects - AND have near to ZERO problems with the Audio at least.
NO .mp3 or other strange format - all is converted one way or another to .aiff.

Trouble watching digital copy movie in iTunes
I transferred a digital copy movie to iTunes. When I try to play the movie on my new MacBook Pro, I get a message, "This movie cannot be played on this computer." I was able to transfer and watch a different digital copy movie. Help!!
Okay, but being "checked and highlighted" does not cause media to sync.
Do you manually manage the content on the device or use the sync feature as designed?
If manually managing the content, can you "drag and drop" the media onto the device?
If syncing, go to the Movies (or video) tab and select the video there, then sync.

Deleted items from Ipod Nano to make room for new. Emptied trash. Still getting error message when I try to copy items from ITunes to Ipod. What should I do now?
If you delete songs (and other items) from the main iTunes library, yes, you need to empty the Trash because iTunes puts the song files into the Trash. When deleting items from an iPod, the items are not being deleted from the main iTunes library, so nothing should end up in the Trash.
Hopefully, you are not deleting items from your main iTunes library, just to sync those deletions from the iPod. If you are, there is a better way. You can post back if you want more info... -
Im canadian and recently bought THG dvd in the us, but when i went to download the digital copy into my iTunes is would't let me. Is there any way to download it?
Probably something to do with Apple/iTunes cross border copyright !
Only thing I think you can do is to try and appeal to Apple's better nature and explain what has happened, I would not hold your breath though.

If you drill down within the iTunes folder to the "iTunes Music" or "iTunes Media" folder you'll see that iTunes has the songs organised by artists. If you want a particular album, you'll have to know who the artist is. There's also a folder named "Various Artists" for complication albums. And as for me, I don't use a USB drive to back things up, I use an external hard drive, which can hold more data. If you don't have one, I recommend getting one.

I transferred a movie from a digital copy to iTunes and tapped Hide by mistake in the Downloads. How do I unhide the movie? It said to do this in account info, how do I do this on the iPhone or computer?
The movie is from iTunes. You would think that a download from iTunes to a MacBook could be watched on an HDTV using Apple TV without any headaches bit this does not appear to be the case.

Can anyone get their digital copy codes from LOTR extended blu-ray to work on iTunes Mac?
Bought LOTR extended edition combo pack back when they first came out, but never used the digital copy codes. Now my 13 year old wants to get them on his iPad, but the codes appear to be expired (6/26/12). I see talk online about WB extending the expiration of codes, but I still can't seem to figure out how to get these to work. Can anyone help?
