STAR TREK moving stars effect? Plug-in or tip how to do it

I need to create the classic STAR TREK moving stars like seen in the original series and/or STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN. Is there a plug-in ready-made for this or is there a secret?

Creating an effect - sort of Star Trek-like tractor beam effect

I'm trying to come up with a way to make a particle effect that sort of looks like a tractor beam effect from Star Trek.
I want a line or thin rectangle to be the particle. The particle itself wouldn't spread out or have any speed itself, but I'd like one end of each particle to all be at the same point, but the opposite end spread out in something like a 10-15 degree arc. Each particle would have a very short life....only .5 to .75 seconds each.....to give a feathery random energy beam-like effect with a origin at one point but spreading out to cover an area.
Does that description make any sense? Is there a way to do this?

Being a lover of sci-fi this game came to my attention and being a recent convert to mac's I was wondering if anyone more knowledgeable then I (most everyone) has tried to install and play this. If you have or you have any suggestions or warnings for me then I greatly appreciate your help.

Can you be more specific please. There are quite a few Star Trek games out there for Macs if you do a Google search. There is one at the App Store called Star Trek D-A-C. Items listed at the AppStore are specifically for Macs from qualified developers/manufacturers.
Is that the game you are talking about? If not, please list the correct Star Trek game and the link from where this game came to your attention. Did you read the reviews from the site you saw this game? It's system requirements?

I want to buy season 4 of Star Trek: Enterprise on iTunes, but it appears as if episodes 1 and 18 are missing. Does anyone know what is going on there?

Yes, the old album art view is gone, bu you can see the album art for a song that's playing by clicking on the art image and it will open a bigger view.

You don't say which film you're struggling to download, I had problems with a-team and I ended up emailing the address on the leaflet, turns out they had a lot of problems with people's codes, they then gave me a new code to use! I have now managed to get the film downloaded?

But utlimately it's the TV studios choice, they are the people who will have to grant Apple a license to have it in the Australian store.

Star Trek Event Failure, At Least I Have Best Buy...

I had tickets for the Maple Grove, MN Fathom Event: "Star Trek 25th Anniversary Celebration" today.
It did not go well.
Tonight's event was not acceptable in any form:
They kept the lights on 20 minutes into the start
The audio was not synced up.
They had error messages on screen during the episodes.
The bottom 5-10% of the screen kept "re-painting" itself.
Audio was full of static and jumbled and the compression show huge accounts of artifacts during the presentation.
Whole scenes and minutes were lost.
I expected more for the 25th Anniversary Star Trek event. I drove 1.5 hours each way to be able to get to this theater to sare this event with my father. I was really looking forward to this event. At least I can still watch the Blu-Ray Season One set that I ordered at Best Buy tomorrow:

Hi,
One of my ex-colleagues has installed a NI-DAQ 6.5 in our system. [And I do not see any other naitional instruments card in the CPU of the computer, may be he removed it] I deleted the account and all his files in the system. When I am trying to install version8.0, its not getting installed and giving me a message that I should uninstall the previous version by going to Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
I tried doing that, but the "Change/Remove" button does not seem to work...[There is no response and so unable to install the new version...]
Any idea how can this problem be solved?
It is a windowsXP operating system with SP2 installed on a machine with P4 processor.

Just bought Star Trek Into Darkness & won't play on my 1st gen Apple TV

I just bought and downloaded Star Trek Into Darkness. Now it won't sync to my 1st generation Apple TV. I went into my Apple TV settings in iTunes and chose Into Darkness to sync. I then click Apply and Sync, but it doesn't sync. It doesn't give me the error triangle saying it won't sync. But it also doesn't give any status bar showing it is syncing.
I tried to select Into Darkness in iTunes and create an Apple TV version, but that option is grayed out. What's going on? Why can't I get this movie onto my Apple TV?

I'm having the same problem. If Apple fixes it, how do we find out it's been fixed?
Actually, is the root of the problem that the 1st generation Apple TV doesn't run a recent enough version of OS X?

I've been watching the show and noticing the titling is similar to what's available in Premiere Pro. I've been googling it and it seems they do but I am not exactly sure...Does someone know?

Star Trek ID 1/5 iTunes extras "Movie Cannot be Played"

I recently downloaded my digital copy of Star Trek into Darkness.
The movie plays fine, the Extras work.
Except for extra feature "Brawl by the Bay" which gives me the dreaded message "Ths movie cannot be played on this computer."
This is odd to me as everything else in the files works fine.
I'd prefer not to redownload these extras, as I have a very slow internet connection, and this is the only one that does not work.
Does anyone have any idea why it would be doing this, or how I could fix it?

I really don't think there is just "some setting" that you need to change, to get this to work.
What does sound unusual to me, is that you say you are downloading the same product twice -- direct to the phone, and direct to your computer. The normal procedure would be to download it once, to either device, then do a "sync" between the computer and the iPhone to get the product installed onto both devices.

Star Trek: TOS Remastered-Where is the rest of season one?

I bought a season pass for TOS Remastered and there hasnt been an update in forever, there have been plenty of season 1 episodes that have aired and have not appeared on the Store. Is there anywhere i can email Apple and complain. I would use feedback but i dont know what to choose. If anyone has details when the episodes are gonna be added please post back.

Seriously, 24 hours. I've been reading reviews on the store and people were saying that the 11 same episodes have been there since before March, i wouldnt consider this a "minor" delay.
