Start and stop time differ from iPod to computer

I joined 2 .mp3 together using a music edtion program (the first song was 4:30 and the second one 3:40) making one long sound file. The stop time for the song in iTunes is set at 8:10.
When I play the song on my iPod, it comes to a complete halt at 4:30 and my iPod turns dead, then moves on to another song after a few minutes (without playing anything in the meantime.)
The same song played from iTunes on my computer doesn't do that, it plays till the end (8:10).
Can anyone explain this?
Do I need to edit the .mp3 files in a text editor, find the code (stop time reference) that causes the bug and resave it (what should I look for if that's the case?)
Thanks

  • My ipod nano 7th gen. won't save the changes I make to a song's start and stop time. How do I fix this?

So I have a few songs that I don't like the intro to or the end of it that I had cut to where I wanted on my previous ipod. When I try to do the ame thing with this one with the start and stop time, it will work for awhile and then randomly start and stop where it had originally. I have done it like 4 times now for some songs and I can't seem to get it to stick. Suggestions?

If you use the Sync feature in iTunes, then it needs to be done to the song in your Music Library, then synced with the iPod.  If you do not use the Sync feature and are performing the changes to the song on your iPod specifically, then the setting may be getting overwritten when you drag the song that's already on the iPod back onto the iPod.  It will overwrite all local settings for the song on the iPod with the settings in your library.
Try performing the changes to the song in your music library, and then dragging it back over to your ipod (or Sync your iPod if you use that feature).  This will make sure that the setting are consistent in both your library and iPod in-case you were to ever overwrite the song once more.

  • Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes?

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track.  However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone.  I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone.  I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets.  I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything.  I hope we can find something.

  • Starting and stopping a VI from another VI

    Hello
I have to write a VI for starting and stopping a vi from another vi. I browsed the forums for an example but couldn't find one. If anyone has an example it would be of great help.
    Thanks
    Ankit

I may be throwing myself into a pot of boiling water here, but...
I don't think this method is called dynamically calling a VI. Going through the LabVIEW help says this about dynamically called VIs
"You can dynamically load VIs instead of using statically linked subVI calls. A statically linked subVI is one you place directly on the block diagram of a caller VI. It loads at the same time the caller VI loads.
Unlike statically linked subVIs, dynamically loaded VIs do not load until the caller VI loads them with the Open VI Reference. If you have a large caller VI, you can save load time and memory by dynamically loading the VI because the VI does not load until the caller VI needs it, and you can release it from memory after the operation completes. You also can use the VI Call Configuration dialog box to configure when to load the subVI."
    and:
"Create a strictly typed VI reference to dynamically call a VI using the Call by Reference Node. The strictly typed VI refnum identifies the connector pane of the VI you are calling."
It seems that the advantage of dynamically calling a VI you can call DIFFERENT VI's with the same function on the block diagram as long as both are strictly typed to have the same connector pane. So say you have a VI that has a voltage input and a time input and calculates the rate of voltage change, could be replaced by a VI that takes the same inputs, but does something else with the data. And both VI's could be called by the same function depending of the reference passed to "Call by Reference."
I think the method of calling a VI and not caring about when it finishes is just an Invoke Node method.

You don't need to upgrade your software.  But if you're struggling with Spry, IMO you should cut your losses and switch to something better for the longrun.
If you have a budget to work with, I highly recommend Project Seven's Pop-Menu Magic 3.  It's easy to use in DW CS4, 5, 6 or CC.  More importantly, it's bullet proof and works in all devices.

If you don't have a budget to work with, you can roll your own menus with jQuery plugins.  A bit more effort on your part, but they perform better than Spry.

  • In Month View, showing start and stop times for appointments

Hi, I want to show both the start and stop times for all appointments in my iCal Month view and have not been able to figure out how to do that. Any suggestions? - Dave

I would also like to know how to do this if possible. I want to print month-view schedules with start and end times for events. Thought I'd bump this up to see if anyone has any ideas.

  • Printing event start and stop times

In month view, is there any way to have both the start and stop times for an event show when you print the calendar so you can see the duration of an event - thanks.

You might be able to use this script to reset the start/stop times to zero.  Try with a small selection and see if it works for you.

  • Reset song start and stop times

Resetting start and stop times for all songs.
Hi. I recently trialled a DJ BPM matching software product and unknown to me, it scanned all my songs and in the majority of cases, put new start and stop times (in seconds) so now when I play my songs in iTunes, they either start to play early and/or stop playing before they are complete.
I can go and reset these parameters manually but I have 5000 songs so wondered if there was a utility or a file I could edit that would do this for me as its really annoying that the DJ software didnt reset these when I uninstalled it at the end of the trial period.
    Thanks

  • Starting and stopping timer using external inputs interfaced with labview

    hello,
I have trouble finding how to start and stop the timer using external voltage or current pulse. we are interfacing a circuit to labview. so for that we need to count the time it takes between the two external voltages. We have to keep on comparing the voltages to some reference voltage. And when the external voltage crosses the reference voltage we have to start the timer and again we have to stop the timer using tha same logic. We need it for time calculation between the triggers.
    hope you can help.

https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-23334 is agood example to start. You need to modify it to include stop trigger.

  • HT1349 cant change start and stop time on aac file using PC

I am trying to create a ringtone for my iphone.   So i created a AAC file of the song i wanted as a ringtone.  And I am doin exactly what the videos say.  So when i click Get INfo on the AAC file, it says i am supposed to be able to change the start and stop type. but it doesnt allow me to do so.

Set the start/stop where you want. Then right-click on the song in your library and choose "Convert Selection to mp3." This creates a new shorter file, files it by artist/album, and adds it to your library. It will play correctly inside or outside of iTunes.
After you've confirmed the new one plays OK, you can either keep or delete the longer original, as you wish.
Note that the above assumes that the source file is unprotected, which is true in your case, since you are starting with an mp3.

  • Starting and Stopping a Timer in Java Card + GSM

    Hi,
I seem to not be able to start a timer that my applet has
    allocated using the PRO_CMD_TIMER_MANAGEMENT
pro active command. I want to for example set the timer
interval to 5 seconds and I understand from the gsm
specs that the TLV value should then be {(byte) 0x00,
(byte) 0x00, (byte) 0x05} as the hour is zero, the minute is
    zero and the seconds = 5 .
The command qualifier I set to 0x00 to start the timer and
I set it to 0x02 to stop the timer. The start and stop I
control from two menu items. From the GSM spec the first 2 bits
control the timer and the remaining 6 are RFU (reserved for future use),
now I assume I can then set the RFU bits to 0.
I then have a EVENT_TIMER_EXPIRED in my processToolkit which then plays a tone.
The tone proactive command works but I dont seem to be able to start the time or
    stop it ?
    HELP ?
is there any suggestions or any error in my reasoning here ?

I tried your solution but it seems to have no effect (?)
This is the log entry of the comms during sneding of the timer start
    command:
(Notice that where you have the Timer Identifier tag = A4, here it is
24 and where you have Timer Value Tag = A5, here it is 25 - these tags and the APDU's are generated with the GSM java card libs in the development kit I'm using.....) It seems to go through but the TIMER_EVENT_EXPIRED never happens....Help ? Have a look at the source code I included (maybe I'm doing something wrong)....

  • Starting and Stopping Instances from Netweaver Administrator does not work.

When we go to our http://<host>:<port>/nwa and navigate to Systems. We see our instances, although we see status and UNKNOWN.
Also, when we click down to see our server nodes, and try and restart them or stop them...we enter our user/pass for Unix and but it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone know what is involved to get this functionality to work? We're not looking install CCMS or anything like that, we just want th ability to start and stop our cluster from the central instance web administration screens.
    Thanks,
    -Tim

Just works for us, without needing any config.
If your running unix the alternative method is to use a tool called JCMON, much better than NWA.
log in as <sid>adm onto your host.
    jcmon pf=/usr/sap/PEP/SYS/profile/PEP_JC00_xxxxx
    for our production portal for example;
Which allows you to do admin on your java instance only.
    use the menu options 10 - 21.

  • How do I stop Time Machine from backing up Aperture thumbnails?

    Hi,
My 2TB backup drive recently became full, and I became curious as to what was filling it up. I wrote a perl script to analyze the Time Machine backups, and I noticed that over 50% of my backup was filled with AP.Thumbnails and AP.Minis from the Aperture project directory. In particular, the AP.Thumbnails files in the backup consumed 737 GB of disk space!
The problem with the thumbnails files is that they are a single file that contains all of the thumbnails for all of the 40,000 photos I have in Aperture and it is now 20gb in size. Every time I add a new file to Aperture, the thumbnail file changes, and I get a new 20gb of data added to my backup. I add photos often which means that most of my backups have 20gb of Aperture files (which are easy to rebuild and don't need to be backed up).
I decided to try and stop Time Machine from backing up these files, and there seems to be no way of doing so (without telling Time Machine to skip backing up my entire Aperture project which I don't want to do). In Finder, you can do a "show package contents", but the Time Machine GUI doesn't allow this.
I tried to tell Time Machine to exclude the files via the GUI, but Time Machine sees the Aperture Library as a single package and won't let me exclude individual files from within the package.
I googled around, and found the attribute that Time Machine puts on files to exclude them from the backup. I used xattr to set the attributes:
    xattr -w com.apple.metadata:comapple_backupexcludeItem com.apple.backupd <filename>
I also used this command on the iPhoto thumbnail files.
I used spotlight to find all of the files with this attribute using this command:
    sudo mdfind "comapple_backupexcludeItem = 'com.apple.backupd'"
This command returned the iPhoto files, but did not return the Aperture files.
However, if I run "xattr" on the Aperture files, the attribute does exist!
During my next time machine backup, the iPhoto files were skipped as I wanted them to be, but the Aperture thumbnails were backed up again
I thought that maybe time machine was looking at the aperture package as an atomic unit, but iPhoto is stored as a package as well, and the attributes worked there on files inside the package.
Does anyone have any idea why time machine is still backing up these files? Is there any way I can get around this?
It seems to me to be an incredible oversight on Apple's part since both tools are Apple. The thumbnails files are very expensive to backup, and they are not necessary for backup since the are easy to rebuild from the original photos which are also backed up.
    Thanks,
    Ron

No need to write your own script for that. there are a couple of already made nice GUI tools for this - TimeTracker http://www.charlessoft.com/ and BackupLoupe http://soma-zone.com/BackupLoupe/
and I noticed that over 50% of my backup was filled with AP.Thumbnails and AP.Minis from the Aperture project directory. In particular, the AP.Thumbnails files in the backup consumed 737 GB of disk space!

I don't have aperture but I think most people exclude the whole thing from TM backups and back it up separately. but if you want to exclude a subfolder in a package that's easy too. just select the package in finder, control-click on it and select "show package contents". in the resulting finder window drill to the folder you want to exclude and drag it to the TM exclusion list in TM system preferences->options.
I googled around, and found the attribute that Time Machine puts on files to exclude them from the backup. I used xattr to set the attributes:
    xattr -w com.apple.metadata:comapple_backupexcludeItem com.apple.backupd <filename>
I was not aware of this method for excluding stuff from TM backups. could you provide a link to where you found this?
I also used this command on the iPhoto thumbnail files.
I used spotlight to find all of the files with this attribute using this command:
    sudo mdfind "comapple_backupexcludeItem = 'com.apple.backupd'"
This command returned the iPhoto files, but did not return the Aperture files.
that's because Spotlight never looks inside packages unless you start a search inside a package directly. iphoto seems to be the only exception. I don't know how it's done.

  • Start and stop a loop automatically subtracting at each iteration

    Hi there,
I know that there are some topics about it, but I could not find any solution, especially because I use the version 7.1 and cannot open new version files.
    My problem is as follows:
I need to charge a tank from 6 to 10 in the morning, every day during 3 days. The process must start and stop automatically, which means, no bottoms to start or stop. The start and stop conditions come from the hour.
I start with a big loop of 72 iterations, which corresponds to 72 hours.
The tank must start at level 6 every time it starts.
After the start, 1 unit must be subtracted in each iteration. Which means, that at 6 am the tank has level 10, at 7 am level 9 and so on. In the end, at 10 am the tank level is equal to 2.
In the next day, the process must start again and the tank must start at level 6.
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

While this may work it can be improved significantly. This really isn't a state machine. This is basically the same as your flat sequence with the exception of using a While loop with a Case statement to implement each frame.
You should define what your actions are and create a typedefed ENUM naming them. State names of 1 through 24 are meaningless. Not to mention in your code many of the cases are duplicates of others. That would mean that all of those can be one state with logic to determine what action/state comes next. A properly defined state machine would not need the outside For loop. Without knowing your specific needs some examples of reason state names would be the following: Start, Stop, Exit, Error, Initialize, Get Tank Level, Fill Tank, Drain Tank, Idle, etc. Can you see how these are easier to understand than 1 through 24.
There are lots of examples of state machines here. Try a search and take a look at some of them.
