Start executables on server using webforms

Hi,
I was wondering how to start an exacutable (for example MS Word) on the server an manipulate with it on the server and save it on the server. I will start the exacutable from webforms.
I am using forms6i version 6.0.8.12.1, jacob and
Oracle 9iAS version 1.0.2.2.2a on MS Windows 2000.
Regards

You can do this using OLE2 - this will work on web deployed forms in a similar fashion to client server except the code is running on the application server. Normally people ask about doing OLE2 onthe client machine, but in the case it should be pretty straight forward.

Is it possible to remotely start a CMS server using a shell script which starts an SSH session and runs the startservers command asin the command below:
    ssh -o ConnectionAttempts=2 -o ConnectTimeout=10 -l boadmin huxd0226 '/opt/BO/boxir2/bobje/startservers'
The command securely logs into the server (huxd0226) and runs the command described in single quotes.
the CMS server actually appears to start but then dies inexplicably and displays no errors in the trace logs. The full log file is displayed below:-

This is exactly the same as a normal manual startup of the CMS server except it dies at the loading of the db2databasesubsystem section.
Business Objects is patched to Fix Pack 3.6 and is clustered in a HACMP environment. It is a requirement that when the DB2 database fails, shortly after restarting it can automatically start the Business Objects services remotely.
SSH will work if the command is entered manually from within a secured session, but it is only when automated that the failure occurs. Does anyone have an idea on why this is happening and whether it is in fact possible ?

  • Starting the sap server using startsap program .

    Hi ,
    platform AS400 R3/DB2
For manually starting the sap server using startsap program .
    startsap sid(c44) instance(44) profile('/usr/sap/c44/sys/profile/what profile?)
I want to clear my doubt in  the above command, which profile can be given for the above startsap command?
    please help.
    Regards
    Hany.

    Hany,
Is there more than one instance of SAP running on this server? Usually a 'startsap' or "startsap R3" - if the db is started already - will work.
Otherwise, you'll want to use the instance profile of what your attempting to start. Remember there are 3 profiles in the folder - Default, start, and instance.
Try to start with the instance profile.

  • Starting Weblogic server using Telnet/Putty

    Hi,
I have Weblogic server(9.1) installed on a unix box.
I open putty, login to the box and start the weblogic server using the command
    ./startWebLogic.sh
It all starts fine and things work properly.
But as soon as I close the putty window, the server too shuts down?
    Can I avoid this scenario.
Is there any way I can keep the servers running even after closing the putty window.
Is there any settings to be done on the unix box?
Is there any settings to be done on putty?
Should I use the command ./startWebLogic.sh in some different way?
Little urgent for me. Appreciate your help.

  • Starting WebLogic Server using Console

This is a simple question. I am trying to start the WebLogic Server
using the WebLogic Console. It seems to be starting the wrong WebLogic
    server.
When I monitor the log information in the console I see it starts the
    server with a 32ms and a 32mx whereas in my startWebLogic.sh script I
have specified 128ms and 128mx. How do I make my startconsole.sh script
read the correct startWebLogic.sh script ? This is on solaris.
When I ran the script startWebLogic.sh it was able to start up
    completely.
    Thanks.

    Ted,
Thanks for the reply. Just another question on this-I have added a lot of jar files to the
WEBLOGICCLASSPATH in my startWebLogic.sh script. I presume since I am starting the server using the
console I need to add this information(the WEBLOGICCLASSPATH variable) to the startConsole.sh script
and try running the server again.
Currently its reporting that its unable to find the server classes which I wrote.

    Aswin,
Sorry for the confusion. When you start the server in the console, you get a dialog window. There
is a button labled "Advanced..." Click on that and set the "Java Heap (MB)" to 128. That will do
    what you want it to.

Did you edit your startConsole.sh? The last line in that file should set your ms and mx.
    It should say something like:

  • Urgent-Starting Server using Console(Unix)

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to start a WebLogic server using the console
on Solaris 2.6. I am unable to figure out where it gets the classpath
and weblogic.class.path from when starting the server using console. I
want to be able to add some jars to the classpath and
weblogic.class.path before starting the server. On WinNT there is
wlconfig which could be used to change the values in the registry but
for Unix is there a way..
    Thanks a ton.

    Ted,
Thanks for the reply.

    $JAVA -ms16m -mx48m -classpath $JAVACLASSPATH weblogic.Console
Changing the ms and mx values here should have the affect you're looking for.
