Start forms and start transaction?
Hi friends,
I am new to workflow, and can anybody just explain me the concept of start transaction and start forms in the basic data of the workflow definition?
Thank u,
PoOrAnI
hi Poorani Davidraj .
start form mean , whenever form( eg : absence form ) as has been accessed workflow will be triggered .
forms can be created on u r own .
steps for creating forms.
1) define a wf container element withe a structure for which u want to create eg: ekko.
2) goto basic data > start forms complete the form wizard .
3) when ever the form will be accessed , wf will be triggered .

Difference between Receipts form and Receiving Transactions form
Hi People,
I have a doubt about two dorms. Firts I have created an Inter-Oranization Transfer generating the Shimpment num 1111.
Then using Inventory Responsibility, I navigate to Transactions -> Receiving -> Receipts and find it withou any issue.
But when I navigate to Transactions -> Receiving -> Receiving Transactiond, I am not able to find it. Why?
Which is the difference between thos forms? Why I can see the transaction in one form but not in another?
Thanks,
Facundo.hi
receiving can be configured to be a two-step process: first receive it in receving bay (using receipts form) and then deliverying to some storage area within warehouse (using receiving transaction form).
on shipping network form, we can specify if we want to do receiving as 1-step (direct routing) or as 2-step (standard routing) or 3-step (inspection routing).
in your case, there r two options:
1. its a direct routing, so receiving transaction has already taken place...see receiving transaction summary form..
2. receiving txn has gone to error status or is pending for processing. use receiving transaction status form to review if it is in pending/ error status.
in case of pending...launch receiving transaction processor conc program....
please check and set profile RCV: processing mode appropriately.
thanks,

What is the diff b\w open form and start form in scripts.
Hi,
can any one tell me what is the diff andb\w open form and start form in scripts.when we should use open form and when start form.Hi Friend.
I have understood some usefull information and would like to share with you.
Within one transaction, you can open and close several layout sets using OPEN_FORM and
CLOSE_FORM, however not simultaneously. You can use parameters in the OPEN_FORM to control
whether the output is stored in the same print request. But also the SAP spool decides,
depending on several plausibility checks, whether new output is appended to an existing
print request or whether to create a new print request anyway.
CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
CALL FUNCTION 'CLOSE_FORM'
CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
CALL FUNCTION 'CLOSE_FORM'
You cannot combine ABAP/4 list output and SAPscript output in one print request.
START A LAYOUT SET AGAIN
Usually a print program does not print only one urging letter or one account statement, but
several layout sets for different customers. To have the output for each customer begin with
the start page of the layout set, you must start the current layout set again and again.
To start a layout set again, you must first end the current layout set and then open the
layout set again. Within one print request, first call the function module END_FORM. It
executes the final processing for the current layout set. Then start the layout set again
using START_FORM. Output then begins again on the start page of the desired layout set.
CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
CALL FUNCTION 'START_FORM'
CALL FUNCTION 'END_FORM'
CALL FUNCTION 'START_FORM'
CALL FUNCTION 'END_FORM'
CALL FUNCTION CLOSE_FORM
Hope your obstacle is cleared.
If not do ask me again? -
Start transaction, form transaction
we can execute the workflow manually and automatically
if we executing manually,
we can execute it directly or by start transaction or by form transaction,
i cant understand the start transaction and form transaction
can u help me
thanks in advance.Hi,
to start a WF you can use the function SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT and SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW. The Transaction available are SWUE (working with event) and SWUS.
In SWUE you raise an event for the Obj of your WF and set the binding to event container. (it works only if your wf has a triggering event)
In SWUS you must define the WF container and then start it manually.
The function works with the same logic of the transaction.

Can we use Perform statement in start routine ,Form and endform.
Hi,
Can we use Perform statement in start routine ? Then write the ABAP code between Form and Endform.
Example : Can I use Perform ABC in start routine. Then define ABC at the end of start routine.
Form ABC,
......<ABAP> code .....
Endform.Hi,
In BI 7.0 we have start routines defined using Class where you might be able to create your own performs, but in case of BW3.5 Start routines are defined using Form so there I don't think it will allow you to create one more form.
But you can surely try both the approaches.

I just started a free trial of the Adobe XI product that allows me to create an editable PDF. I'm done creating the form and ready to export it. When I click Export PDF from the File menu, it says Adobe encountered an unexpected error. What am I doing wrong?
Good to know — there is no such application as "Adobe XI".
"Adobe" is the name of the company.
"XI" is indicative of the use of either Acrobat XI or Reader XI.
Neither Acrobat XI Pro (for which Adobe provides a free, fully functional 30-day trial) nor Adobe Reader XI (the free to download and use PDF viewer that Adobe provides) have an "Export PDF" entry under "File".
"Export PDF" only is present in Adobe Reader XI over on the right on the "Tools" panel.
The "Tools" panel provides a way for a user of Adobe Reader XI to connect to various By Subscription online services (gotta pay eh).
Export PDF is one of these. A subscription lets you send a PDF file to the online internet service (aka "cloud" service). The service then exports to a supported file format (Word / Excel / ...) and the user selects / directs where the output file is to be saved on the user's local machine.
Of course to use any of the online subscription services one must have an active (paid up in full) subscription to the service.
So ---- As described the puzzle pieces don't fit eh.
What specific Adobe (the company) applications are you using?
Acrobat XI Pro? Adobe Reader XI? Both?
Be well.... -
How To Start Forms and Reports From Start Command
Hi All,
How to start Oracle Forms and Reports in Oracle8i My OS is Windows 2000.Please tell the procedure to get into forms and reports.
Otherwise we have to install other software for Forms and Reports.
Thanks
SujanSujan,
what does the database have to do with starting Forms and Reports ? If you are on Wondows2000 then navigate to the \bin directory if the Oracle Home you installed Oracle9iDS to. Type ifbld90 for Forms and rwbuilder for Reports design environment.
If your ability to start Forms and Reports from the command line is your only exit criteria in evaluating software for a project , how far will you go with it?

Can i start oracle forms and reports 11g services in linux with opmnctl ?
Hi:
I am so confused with weblogic and forms 11g that i don't know nothing at all looll :)
Someone told me that to start oracle forms i need to this
[oracle@biz ~]$./startManagedWebLogic.sh WLS_FORMS
This scripts asks for a password and that's annoying... and it just stays waiting there.. i mean does not stay running in background... So if i finish my ssh session it will shutdown...
Today at oracle support they told me that i still can start forms with OPMN using opmnctl as we use to do in 10g... Is this possible? Does anyone here have a startup script for forms and reports 11g under linux? How do you guys start forms and reports?

with just opmnctl we cant run Forms I believe, we need to have WLS_FORMS also running ..
Forms requires ohs or wc to be up and running along with WLS_FORMS , thats is what is my understanding .. -
Not able to start a Forms and Reports Services on Weblogic
Dear All,
This is very urgent issue, we are facing in the Production server.
We have installed a Weblogic Server 10.3.6 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit. Then we have installed ADF runtime 11.1.1.6 and Domain creation, then applied patchs 14582286 and 14582309. After this Step we have deployed a ADF application and its working fine. Then we installed a forms 11.1.2.1. Now when we start a FORMS_DOMAIN service we are getting the below error.

There are 1 nested errors:

When the Admin Server for Weblogic (ADF runtime) is Up and running. Now we have started the Node Manager.
Its shows <Secure socket listerner started on port 5556>
Then we have started the Admin Server for Weblogic (Forms Domain) and its also Started and in RUNNING mode. Now when we start the Forms Service we are getting the above error. Same is happening for REPORT service
Please help us to solve this issue.
Note : We are trying to start a service from a user who is having a admin rights for that machine. With the same user we installed the WLS, ADF and Forms.
Also after all the installation we have changed the server name.

Balaji MHi Balaji,
What happens if you only start Forms Domain and then Forms and Reports Services, do you get the same error ??
Could you paste here the content of CLASSPATH and PATH operating system environment variables.

Starting/Stopping Application Server Forms and Reports
Hello,
Are there any scripts (like dbstart and dbshut for Oracle DB) for starting and stopping "Application Server Forms and Reports". If not, any special suggestions?
I must automatically start this application on Unix. I know that during starting some steps must be performedy by the root user (export DISPLAY env variable and issue the "xhost +" command) and later the oracle user must do some things( export ORACLE_HOME and DISPLAY and issue the "opmnctl startall" command). Does anybody have scripts like that?
Regards,
TimIf you're on 10.1.2, there is a script (requires an X Windows session). It's called runstartupconsole.sh, but you've got to update the install type to Portal in the ias.properties file if I remember right. It looks cool, but a shell script works better.
Here is a shell script that does some of those things. You still need to run xhost+ after running a display if you're using something that requires a DISPLAY to start. Someone may have a better one, but this one works.
We actually use one that starts all the different components individually except for Reports in rc scripts. That is the only thing we have that needs a Display set to start. So then xhost + is run & at the same time, the Unix sysadmin runs a script that start Reports from opmn.
I hope this is useful.
Cordially,
Steve

R12-oafm, forms and oacore not starting up after IP adress change
Heloo my friend;
I had problem while i changed my server IP...when i start adstrtall.sh script its end wiht :
adstrtal.sh: Exiting with status 3 and adoafmctl.sh: exiting with status 204 ...soo my login page doesnt come to explorer and it gives HTTP 404 page not found error
So here is the solution:
Cause
The OC4J lock files contains the IP adress, after the ip adress change the lock files includes the wrong Ip adress which caused the OJ4J to fail
Solution
1 - open a new shell and set your apps environment
2 - cd $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME
3 - adopmnctl.sh stop
4 - check if it is really down: ps -ef grep grep opm
5 - delete the following:
rm -fr $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/j2ee/oacore/persistence/*
rm -fr $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/j2ee/oafm/persistence/*
rm -fr $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/j2ee/forms/persistence/*
6 - adopmnctl.sh start
7 - check if the issue has been resolved: adapcctl.sh status
I hope its helpful

I want to scan in an existing form and make it typable.
Many may not be familiar with that product on this site.
Can Open Adob perform an OCR action?
Does Open Adob have a form design module?
You can use OpenOffice.org to create a form in Write along with form fields and then Export to a PDF and keep the form fields. Any scripting for the form fields will not transfer to Adobe JavaScript. -
