Start page address without restoring it as a default

I want to add the new Firefox 13 home page to the group of start-up pages. I do not want to do this by restoring it as a default and then having to add the current one afterwards. This seems such a simple matter to me - you just need to give me the address of this page. Without the address I just won't use it.

Thanks very much madperson, it worked very well. Just copied the address to the clipboard, opened a new tab, pasted the adress into the address box and voila! the page appeared in 0.25 seconds. Went to options menu under General and selected "Use Current Pages" and that was that -all done. Would have been handy if the update routine had put that address somewhere handy though.

    # Question
    I can't stop the Firefox Start page from opening - in addition to my default page - each time I open Firefox

    Is this the Firefox branded Google page? If it is, Firefox can store multiple home pages and you may have 2 home pages set. Follow the instructions to set a single home page in this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
    If it is the Firefox has just updated page that keeps on appearing, there may be a different problem, for details on fixing that see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox

  • When I launch Firefox/Mozilla it comes u; with a Yahoo Search window. My older Firefox versions opened with MyEarthlink as my start page. Even designating Mozilla as my default browser still brings up Yahoo. What gives?

    Downloaded 3.6 and when I clicked on Mozilla icon, it loaded with Yahoo Search page and not as my previous Mozilla browser. To get to Earthlink, I have to type the URL in the Yahoo search window; same with any other URL. Before, I had a URL window above the browser page. Both the 3.6 and now 4 beta are painfully different.
    Running Win2000 SP4.

    If you can't see the View menu item, hit the '''Alt''' key.

  • My Mozilla Firefox Start Page has changed

    My Mozilla Firefox Start Page changed without me doing anything to change it. I had the old style that said "you are not on the latest version of firefox" and I liked it. Now, I cannot get it back. What do I have to do to get it back?

    Install this extension to reset your homepage to the default.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
    It will do the "reset" and then disappear from the Add-ons Manager.
    BTW, "you are not on the latest version of firefox" message sounds like the Firefox Home Page from Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions. So if the "default" isn't what you want - See - [[How to set the home page]]

  • How to Restore pinned tabs without 'firefox start page'?

    i have 2 pinned tabs and firefox is set up to 'Show my windows and tabs from last time'.
    for some reason, every time i start firefox it starts with my two pinned tabs in the background plus the 'mozilla firefox start page' up front.
    how can i start firefox with only my pinned tabs?
    thanks in advance!

    zer0nix,
    Please update to the most recent version of Firefox:
    *[[Update Firefox to the latest version]]
    In order to start Firefox with just the two pinned tabs, it is possible to change from "Show tabs from last time" to "homepage" and to list the two pinned tabs from the home page.

  • For some reason I have a full page opening screen and cannot get it to go back to normal without restoring it to an earlier time. Is there a fix for this?

    My computer would not start this morning, when it did start after repairs, I had a full screen and cannot get it to go back to normal. The toolbars don't show up, nor does the Firefox. I cannot get it straightened up without restoring it to an earlier time.

  • What is URL address for Mozilla Firefox start page

    When I click on Bookmarks, then scroll down to Mozilla Firefox Start Page and click on this, I receive this notice:
    "URL is not valid and cannot be reloaded."
    When I go to History section "Restore Previous Session" is not "highlighted".
    How do I "reload the URL for the Start Page??????

    '''<u>Firefox default home page</u>'''<br />
    If you are referring to the Google/Firefox home page with the Google search, a new version has been built-in to Firefox; it appears that Google is no longer maintaining their old page since the new built-in version is available in Firefox.
    To get the new built-in default home page, change your home page to '''''about:home'''''
    *See --> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page
    EDIT (Added): You can also type '''''about:home''''' in a blank tab to get the new page; you can then Bookmark that page, if you wish.

  • Once I access email either on start page or from email page, I can not back up without restarting Firefox, Mac OS 10.4.11

    Email from start page won't open more than one time, once I go back it won't open again no matter how many times I click on it.
    Email from email page won't back up once opened. It only goes back to start page after multiple clicks. Running Mac-Mini with OS 10.4.11.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == After last "MANDATORY" update.

    re "Apple should have the control panel report the proper IP address"
    On clicking Personal web sharing, you get information to the effect:
    View this computer’s website at http://10.1.1.4/ or your personal website at http://10.1.1.4/~user/
    This is wrong to a user. Others could not enter this URL and get access to the website using this information. This is what I meant by "wrong"--its NOT the IP address that the user should use to view/use the web site. The software already knows its using DHCP, etc., so it should know to present the modem's IP and from memory in the past it did. As a wrote earlier, I used to be able to just copy the IP address given.
    What Apple probably need are two statements:
    To view this computer’s website from the local network use ...
    To view this computer’s website from the internet use ...
    Even, then I'd question the use of 10.1.1.4.

  • I need the actual address of the Mozilla start page. It is not the default in my Firefox options.

    I am trying to convert to the Mozilla (Firefox) start page for my home page. I cannot follow the instructions given because my default home page in options is Yahoo. (I don't want that.) Can you give me the address of the Start page? I know how to make it my home page after I have navigated there.

    Hello mclapp, type in the awesome/location bar '''about:home''' .
    and set '''about:home''' in Firefox button > Options > General > Strtup > Home page.
    be sure you have also set When Firefox starts > Show my home page
    thank you

  • Restore old firefox logo to firefox start page & lose crazy tail fox logo

    Within the last few days my regular firefox logo appearing on firefox start page changed on my desktop (windows xp), and two laptops (windows 8 & windows 8.1). The logos all changed around the same time. The normal logo (orange fox holding blue globe) is now an orange fox (holding globe) with a crazy out of control tail that wildly circles around the globe a couple of times. No longer cute & compact but instead takes up a lot of space & really bothers me. Firefox was one of the few browsers I allowed to do automatic updates, but I will modify those settings since I have had so much trouble trying to change the logo back. My update history shows update 32.0.3 was installed 9/24/14 & update 32.0.2 installed 10/30/14, which seems odd to me since 32.0.3 would seem to come after 32.0.2. (There is no cartoon character saying "click me" nor are there any snippets, and I do not wish to block the regular brand logo, just want to get rid of this crazy tail logo).
    I appreciate your help on this as this crazy tail logo is driving me crazy! Thank you very much.

    Alternatively you can use these steps to disable the snippets on the about:home page:
    * Set the <b>browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl</b> pref to an empty string on the <b>about:config</b> page
    * Open the <b>about:home</b> page in a tab
    * Open Web Console in this tab (Firefox menu button > Developer or Tools > Web Developer)<br>https://developer.mozilla.org/Tools/Web_Console
    * Run this command via the command prompt of the web console:<br /><b>gSnippetsMap.clear()</b>
    * Close the tab with the <b>about:home</b> page
    * Close and restart Firefox
