You can have all oracle home with the same user.

Hi,
I am trying to configure Coherence-Web on Weblogic server on Unix. But when i try to start the server getting the below error.
I am tried with Coherence 3.7.1 but say Bad class version so then tried with Coherence 3.6.1
And i used the below commond to run the server.

Uninstall J2ee Dialog instance on UNIX environment
HI Everyone,
I am trying to uninstall J2ee Engingine Dialog instance. I saw the procedure on the install document and it talks about deleting the files manually and also i have this not 871523 which says removing dialog instance from database after uninstallation.
I am searching for unistall tool. uninstsap script in Unix. Can someone guide me where i can find it. I am using Was 640 sp 12. Thanks for your help in advance.

Error when starting oracle instance
Hi,
today, after a lot of trouble, I was able to install oracle 10.2.0.1 on redhat as 4 upd 2 x86_64.
This link helped me so much http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle10g.shtml help.
I met a link error because of binutils version. After I installed binutils-2.15.92.0.2-15.0.0.0.2.x86_64.rpm (my version was binutils-2.15.92.0.2-15.0.0.0x86_64.rpm), I did retry and the install problem was solved.
Then during dbca I met another error (ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact) because of libaio. I had 32 bit version instead of 64 bit. After the package update dbca run successfully.
I'm facing the following problem during instance startup:

i have the same problem with OLAP, when i start an instance i have got error messages in alert_log, and a lot of objekts a invalid, i can not recompile the objekt, oracle will it automatic, and ends with this errors:

Auto start Oracle instance in linux
Can I configure oracle to auto start an oracle instance in linux environment ?
Here are the steps to enable the oracle service start automatically during the system boot
Login as root in Linux box to execute the following steps
1. the flag set to Y in /etc/oratab file with the respective instance
2. Copy the oracle script in /etc/init.d folder
3. change the permission < chmod 755 <script filename>
4. add the service <chkconfig --add <script filename>
5 Put the service auto on <chkconfig <script filename> on >
6. To verify the oracle service startup automatic < service <script filename> stop > < service <script filename> start >

How to start ASM instance at boot time - RHEL 2.1

I'm not able to get the ASM instance (not RAC) to start at boot time. It seems that the ocssd daemon does not finish starting until after all rc* scripts, including rc.local, have finished executing.
Patch 3458327 includes a new dbstart with header notes that are in conflict. The notes says that dbstart can't be used to start ASM until AFTER all rc* is finished. Then it continues and states that ASM instance startup should be put in rc.local.
As soon as I get logged on, a ps -ef|grep ocssd shows the daemon running. I can then manually start the ASM instance. There must be a way to get the ASM instance "auto" started at boot time.
Ideas?The cheapest and administratively easiest way for me was to start Oracle instances (ASM and data) by "at" command :-) from rc scripts. Something like:
....echo "oracle start" | at now+2min....
Additionally the deferred startup has some additional advantages in my environment, so I am not motivated to look for better solution.

I have to plan, present and implement the XI system on to the Clusters, now, i know that if you do it on windows you have 2 nodes and you do some configuration on both the nodes. But on the other hand when we do it on Unix we dont have any nodes there. We only install it on a primary node and the systems admins do the rest. My issue is i have to do a homogenious migration of our present XI on to the clusters, Can you please help me on this how to approcah this, the question here is once you migrate your present XI system what will you do with the present XI system do we bring it down or can we still keep it running and if we still keep it running wht will be the confilict. How do we do thins in a step by step sequence. As far as i know we export JAVA stack first and then we export ABAP stack and when we import we import ABAP stack and then java stack. but my question here is when we install XI we install central instance and database instance and then after that we do some configution through visualadmin then after we install the other three adapter engine and .... on to finish the XI installation. but what happens when we do a homogenious migration?

I had the same issue using Eclipse. I just tried to run the
ant script outside of Eclipse and it worked fine.
This is an Eclipse-Ant Class Loader issue.
In order to make it work in Eclipse, You have to :
1. Open the External Tool Run Configuration.
2. Select your Ant script.
3. Select JRE Tab.
4. In Runtime JRE section, choose Seperate JRE.

How to Start Oracle weblogic in UNIX

I was reading a document in which they explain we can create windows service for Oracle weblogic and after that we can start/stop that service.
but in unix environment i have to keep open command shells to start weblogic. Is there any option to run oracle weblogic in background?
Currently i have to keep open command shell to keep running oracle weblogic and if i close them weblogic will be close.

How to compile form orginal file(*.fmb) in UNIX environment
These days, i encounter a problem, i create a form application in Windows2000 or WindowsXP environment, then i compile this .fmb file to .fmx, then i transport this .fmx file to Unix environment which is our Application Server, the Oracle Application Server is in this Unix environment, i put this file in the directory which is directed in the Forms_Path variable, however, when i started to run this application by entering a valid url, the message shows that this fmx file is not runtime file, someone told me that i should recompile the orginal file under unix environment, so i transport the orginal file(.fmb) to unix environment, then i want to use the f90genm tool to compile the .fmb file, however, it shows that this command can not execute, it shows that can not open a lib file under:/project/.../../..,however, this directory does not exist at all, what case this error? i also use f90gen command, it shows: can not execute/finish creation, i want to know, how to use the two commands and what parameters i should set before using the commands? thanks
If you are talking about forms 10g then here is the method
1) run x windows interface on your machine
2) login to linux server
$ export DISPLAY=<IP address of machine>:0.0
$ frmcmp.sh module_type=form module=myform.fmb userid=user/password@connectstring compile_all=yes

When you Stop/Start Webi, the BCA is normally restartes (Process BcsWatch & BcsScdul)
I'm working in AIX and it works. don't you ?
If you find another solution to stop/start automatically just the BCA, I'm interesting to know how, because
i have pb with actually. the .rep doesn't refresh at the morning, i stop/start the BCA with the Admin Webi console.

Hi ! I am trying to create a .pdf file of a Smartform containing Arabic characters. I tried the code given in thread 'SX_OBJECT_CONVERT_OTF_PDF' but couldn't proceed much. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Ashok.
