"Start Slideshow" Font

So I change my website background to black (from white)...The "Start Slideshow" text on the slideshow is also black, and I can't figure out how to change it. Has anyone figured out how? As of know I am entering in my own text and placing it on top of the button - it's a decent workaround, but I'd rather not do it.
Thanks

Perhaps use the Black Templates rather than the White ones?
Then just copy paste everything from one page to the other, the themes are predetermined.

  • Is it possible to start slideshow from current picture?

    Hi,
is it possible to start slideshow from current picture?
Slideshow in Aperture always start from first picture in album.
There is possibility to select bunch of images and than start slideshow and slideshow will use only selected pictures but this is not what I want:
I want it to start from photo that I curently viewing in full scree.
    I *do not want* to:
    1. exit full screen
    2. going to browser
    3. than selecting rest of photos
    4. than hitting shift+S for slideshow
I just want to hit shift+S and to slideshow starts right from picture that I curently looking.
I hope I was clear enought
    Thanx in advance!

If you mean on the phone (like J2ME apps on a cellphone) then the answer is no. However, if you can run the application on the server, then of course.. you just need a way to send a request to the server (e.g. a softkey button which makes a call to http://your-server/path/yourApplication) which triggers the application and does god knows what.

  • S in aperture starts slideshow

Is anyone having the problem of when making a slideshow in aperture  and choosing a music with the letter s in it the slideshow automaticaly starts it is realy anoying.

I just ran into the same problem. I was going to switch to Aperture completely until iPhoto went from 5 to 6. It has a lot of the new features that Aperture has but there are still some awesome features in Aperture that I can't live without. One thing Aperture is missing is that it doesn't check for duplicates when importing pics. So what I decided to do is use iPhoto as my importer (whether from a camera or folder), and then use Aperture's import menu to import the rolls or pictures I want. If you haven't tried it out yet, do so. It is really awesome since it lets you select the rolls as they are saved in iPhoto and gives you a preview of each picture.

  • Auto-Start Slideshow

I would like a slideshow to automatically start when the page with the slideshow is navigated to. Is this possible?

    Bill Hamilton wrote:

Bill ~ If you create a QuickTime movie slideshow, in iWeb's Inspector > QuickTime tab, you can set the Autoplay option. Here's an example of a fast loading, looping embedded QT slideshow (not mine):
    http://www.heese-cadieux.com/Home.html
    ...and done like this:
iPhoto > select photos > File > Export... > QuickTime tab ...set width and height, etc.
Then iWeb > Media button > Movies tab ...drag in your movie created above by iPhoto.
Then iWeb > Inspector > QuickTime tab ...settings (such as Autoplay).
Note: The above generates a QT slideshow of small file size and thus appears quickly in a web browser.

  • "Some photos need to be prepared to view them at full size" message when starting slideshow

I'm pretty new to iPhoto so I'm sorry if these questions are obvious to you, but they're not to me!
From the "Photos" section on iPhoto, with no photos selected, I accidentally started a slideshow with all my photos by pressing the play button on the keyboard and got this message:
"Some photos need to be prepared to view them at full size. Do you want to continue using the current size or prepare the photos so that only full size images are used? This may take some time." With these options: Cancel / Prepare Photos / Continue Playback.
I pressed "Esc" on the keyboard and it clicked "Prepare Photos" instead of "Cancel" as I expected, it started the process and I clicked "Cancel" to stop it, and the slideshow started. When the slideshow was playing, everything froze, I pressed cmd-alt-esc, no window appeared and iPhoto quit immediately. Could it have caused damages to the library? Could it be a reason to restore the iPhoto Library from Time Machine? I didn't get any error message when I reopened iPhoto.
Not to leave the process incomplete later I decided to start another slideshow and this time I clicked "Prepare Photos" and let it complete the process. Now when I start another slideshow I don't get that message anymore.
I have no idea what this process did to my photos and couldn't find an answer anywhere. This library is very important to me, so I'm wondering if I should restore the iPhoto Library from a Time Machine backup.
Could canceling the process the first time have caused any damage to my photos?
What is this preparation? What did it do to my photos? Have my photos been resized, or somehow modified?
    Thanks

Ok, thank you very much. I still don't know exactly what the "preparation" did to my photos but now I guess that nothing bad happened. Thanks

  • PowerBook won't start, possible font issue?

I was having a problem with the fonts on my PowerBook. Several fonts in my web browser were showing as gibberish. I figured out that a sub set of my times font was loading (I think it was times symbol or something like that). So I deleted my times in fontbook and left it in the trash can. The correct font loaded in my browser and all was well. Until I shut it down for a few hours. When I restarted it, it loaded up to the user login. After I entered my password, it loaded my wallpaper and just the Spotlight corner of the top tool bar. Then it just sat there. It won't finish loading. I suspect that by moving the times system font (or even part of it) into the trash, the system won't load.
I recently got a LaCie firewire external HD. I installed the SilverKeeper back-up software and ran it so everything from my PowerBook is now sitting on my ExtHD. However, I can't start the PowerBook up and I don't know how to restore from the ExtHD.
I've tried booting up from the install DVD, but it only gives me the option to reinstall or run the Disk Utility.
What I want is to boot from a CD or DVD that will let me access the PowerBook's HD and put the fonts back in the system folder. Or run a restore from the ExtHD.
I know I have an option to reinstall the software from the install DVD, but it's 10.4.0 or 1 and I have 10.4.7 on the PowerBook. Will that screw with any of my settings if I restore back to the early version and then update to 10.4.7?
And is my font theory even right? It's just the last thing I remember doing that might have caused this.
One more resource at my disposal is my Mac Mini that I'm on right now. Can I force the PowerBook to load in firewire disk mode just as a disk and not as a networked system?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jake

Greg, thanks for your suggestions. I did try to boot up in safe mode, but it froze on the system loading screen and never made it to login. Restarting after that just brought it back to the original problem.
I was using FontBook to locate and delete the Times symbols sub-font.
Is there a way to make a CD or DVD on my MacMini that I can use as a start up disk on the PowerBook and access the hard drive? The system installer DVD won't let me touch the HD when I boot from it.

  • Unable to start Slideshow

    Hi,
Working on iPhoto 8.1.2, OS 10.8.4 on an Intel Mac.
In iPhoto, when I sart a slideshow clicking on the icon "play", then most of the bottom icons are greyed out and nothing happens, the slideshow does not start. Then, when clicking on ESC, then it goes through a black screen (like when leaving a slideshow).
Thanks for help on this topic.
    JH

As a test  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
If it doesn't then you need to repair your current library. apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Start slideshow from manually chosen slide

There are 50 slides in my project.
How can I manually choose any of these slides and begin the slideshow there (e.g. choosing slide number 14 and beginning the slideshow from there)?
I can do this easily in iPhoto, but it doesn't work in Aperture - when I select, for example, slide 14 and try to start the slideshow from that slide, it always begins only from the beginning (i.e. slide 1).

Have you considered to export your Slideshow as a High Definition Quicktime movie for the presentation? Then you might use iMovie to add chapter markers. However, exporting takes a long time for rendering and will need plenty of aditional disk space.
But if you still have iPhoto that will be the best option for your needs.

    Léonie

  • Inserting 'start slideshow' in blank page with photo block

I made a blank page and copied a block of photos from another page to it. I cannot insert slideshow button from the insert menu. Starting from photos page is not an option. Why is iWeb so limiting?

After further investigation, I have found that I am able to run forms using the basejini.htm, but get the blank page as soon as I change the formsweb.cfg to use webutiljini.htm. Both of these are unedited copies of the files from the Oracle Forms and Webutil installs, respectively.
I have looked at the files and see nothing that jumps out as wrong with my webutiljini.htm file.
Has anyone run into this before?
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Crashes iPhoto 8.1.2 when starting SlideShow

Thanks for your info re crash reports. I have to my ability tried to read the crash report based on this tutorial. At present, in spite of the valuable help from Old Toad I don't know how to find further guidance of how to solve the problem with iPhoto 8.1.2 crashing when a slideshow is to be produced from an album.

From the tutorial: If eip is equal to the exception address, the exception was caused by fetching instructions. Typically this means: you've called a bogus function pointer (or, equivalently, called a method on a bogus object) or you've returned to a bad address which, in turn, means that you've corrupted the stack.
This is also in line with the first lines of the report: reason: *'launch path not accessible'*
So my question is: is there a way to find out the possible root of this crash from above from somebody that has more knowledge?

  • Please help - simpleviewer slideshow and text link to start that slideshow

    I have iweb 1.1.2
I have made a simpleviewer folder (done from a CS4 script on the simpleviewer website).
I don't like the horrible "start slideshow" button, and would rather have a text button/link (e.g., "start slideshow" in a font of my choosing) that begins the simpleviewer slideshow, not the default iweb slide show.
Can anybody teach me how to do this in very simple english, like you're talking to a 5 year old, because that is the intellect of my web experience?
    Thanks so much.

    Anyone? Please help?

  • Starting iPhoto slideshow automatically on boot

    Hi all,
I have a Mac mini that will be used in conjunction with a point of sale display screen and I need to start an iPhoto slideshow automatically. I have iPhoto starting automatically currently but I need a slideshow to start without any user interaction (there won't be a keyboard or mouse connected when it goes live).
    Thanks,
    Dave

dahvyd - thanks for that it works!
I'm trying to make it so it plays a slideshow which I've made so I've done this:
    tell application "iPhoto"
    activate
    set mySlideshow to "test1"
    select mySlideshow
    select slide 1 of mySlideshow
    start slideshow
    end tell
But when I try to run it says "expected end of line, etc. but found number" and highlights 1
Any ideas? It puts a title before the first slide. So I tried changing 1 to a 0 and 2 but still no joy
If I delete that line it says:
error "The variable mySlideshow is not defined." number -2753 from "my slideshow"

  • Slideshow won't start-Blank white box opens up

I have 4 separate image galleries on my website.
On all 4 pages, I can successfully open up the slideshow on both my Mac and my PC.
However, on only one of these 4 pages, my mother in law gets a white box that pops up instead of the slideshow when she clicks the button. The other 3 pages work correctly. She has a PC.
Any idea why this might be happening?

I think I found the problem of why I can't access your "Start Slideshow" button...
It looks like there is a textbox or another transparent shape on top of it. The textbox extends from the "Christmas with the Schiros" heading down to just below the level of the "Start Slideshow" button and the blue bar (maybe halfway between the blue bar and the start of the thumbnails). Maybe you can check inside iWeb for this object. I clicked just to the right of the "Start Slideshow" button to find it.
Still doesn't necessarily explain why your MIL is getting a blank white screen. Perhaps she doesn't have javascript turned on in her browser...but then the slideshow window shouldn't even open up.

  • How can I auto start a slideshow?

Is there a way to auto start a photo slideshow? I'd like to skip the index screen and go directly to the slideshow.

iweb1 slideshow can be directly linked, so if you have iweb1; you may like to try that.
now to the bad news, iweb2 slideshow can be directly linked, only if users' browser allow pop-up windows. however, most people DO block pop-up windows.
here is example - please disable your browser's pop-up windows for it to work:
    http://hdl.50webs.com/Direct_SS/Photos.html
that because iweb2 slideshow requires two open windows: photo page window and slideshow page window. slideshow gets the photo from photo page, while photo page is opened. slideshow will stop working when photo page is closed.
in my example, there is one added line of javascript in the photo page ,js file to start slideshow (five seconds after the photo page loaded):

  • IPhoto 7.0.1 freezes when trying to start a slideshow

I have a rather frustrating experience with iPhoto. Everytime I try to click the start slideshow play button (bottom left) the whole iPhoto freezes and I have to force quit it. In order to be able to open iPhoto again I have to repair permissions first, otherwise it says that my photo library is locked.
I tried rebuilding the library, but it didn't help.
Funny thing is, that slideshow plays fine when I acces it via the combiantion Create Slideshow (optional button, which you can reach through the view menu and toolbars submenu) and then hit play slideshow button in the create slideshow view. I could bring iPhoto to freeze agian via the music button in this create slideshow view though.
So what I did next is rebuild the iTunes library. It didn't help as well. I don't know what else to do.
One last test I did was trying slideshow as a different user. And guess what? Logged in as another user slideshow played fine. This user account has a different photo library and no music at all.

First try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, from your User/Library/Preferences folder. If that doesn't help, try the following:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences
Go to HD/Users/Your_name/Library. Move the Preferences folder (in its entirety) to the Desktop and make a second copy of it so you have Copy A and B. Now try the the process again and determine if problem is fixed.
If the problem IS fixed, then go to the new Prefs folder that the OS will have created and open it up.
Open Copy B on the Desktop and select all of the items inside. Drag them into the open new library folder. When the Copy window comes up check the Apply to All check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here. That will keep the new files created and bring back all of the others.
If the problem is NOT fixed, trash the new Prefs folder and move the intact Copy A folder back to the Library folder .
Sometimes it could be another application's preference file.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
