Start the Browser Hidden

I'm trying to automate FF using Autoit , and im not able to find any way to startt a browser session Hidden
I need to schedule tasks on the users desktops that I dont want them to interact with.
The standard commands to make windows hidden seems to be ignored by FF.
Any ideas ?

I need to be able to go to several different URL's with the browser hidden, grab the results from reading the HTML and then make decsiosns based upon the results of the HTML

Updated to FireFox 11 and I keep getting "checking compatibility of add-on" when I start the browser.

I just updated to FireFox 11 and whenever I start the browser, I get that annoying window that checks for the compatibility of add-ons.
I have looked around for solutions and have tried the following:
1. Deleting several extension files from the profile folder.
2. Going to about:config to disable the extension:checkcompatibility (does not exist there).
None of these worked.

Did you try to delete the file prefs.js?

Why Firefox 5 opening the "What's new" page every time I start the browser?

I have Firefox betas since version firefox 4 beta 1, so when it's updated to version 5, I uninstalled firefox, and install the clean version 5 with my saved settings.
Everything went okay, started the browser and it searched for addon compatibility, opened up the What's new page. But now it is for every start, so it's very annoying.
I tried clean the mess but nothing changed.

I desperately would like to update Firefox to version 10 from version 9 but each time I try, I am stuck with FF10 checking addons for comparability and the Welcome page opening every time I start the browser.

Sorry to be a while getting back! Tried all of that with no sucess so this AM, bit the bullet and deleted the FF folder from programs and downloaded and installed FF 10.01. Still was plagued with the same problem. Went into the appdata folder and there were two sessionstore.js files. Deleted them both, restarted the browser and no compatibility check for add-ons was done at start up and the extra tab for Welcome to FF was no longer opening Everything seems to be working as it should and I did not loose any of my settings.. Thank you for trying to help and I hope my solution helps anyone else who might experience this in the future. Here's hoping the next update goes smoother!

At starting, the browser looks darker(blacker) all it, and that is it to the end. Nothing is seen, and so it can't be used. Help!

I have used the browser since I started surfing the web; I love it. However, it's been a month now since it started showing me a darker screen that couldn't let me anything. Yet the trademark that usually appears on the left angle is no longer shown whenever I open the browser on my PC. I currently use Maxthon browser as it seems somewhat reliable than IE.
Likewise, a lot of crashes on my desktop computer. Firefox is always stopping to respond and to restart automatically.
I have not seen this before, please help!

I have an Ipad2, I didnt have problems to connect wifi in general , except at one library where they asked me to accept terms and conditions and then re start the browser. I tried to close safari with the close gesture but didnt work, wouldnt connect.

I want to use my ipad in a public library.
How can I re start a browser session with safari? I need to do this to use wifi in the library. After accepting terms and conditions it ask me to restart all the browser sessions. But with Ipad it doesnt seem to close totally the application.

Try a force quit, I don't know if it closes the sessions but it's worth a try...
When in the app, press on the sleep/wake button until the shutdown screen appears, then press the home button until the app quits.

Why is the error console is opening now when i start the browser. It has a series of entries in it.

I am getting an unable to connect error messagen when I start the browser. The setting is set to "no proxy" and my internet connection is working fine. What can I do to fix this?

I opened up my firefox browser yesterday and it crashed. Since then I get an error message that says "unable to connect" every time I try to load the browser. The setting is set to "no proxy" So it should be connecting. My internet explorer browser is working fine. So I know it is not my internet connection. What can I do to make the firefox browser work again?

What's going on? I upgraded to Firefox 4.0, but it still looks like I've go ver. 3.6.??? When I start the browser, it takes FOREVER to respond at all. I'm using IE 8 to send this. The previous version worked fine.

The browser responds very slowly if at all. All I did was upgrade, or so I thought.

Hi there - I'm having similar bold text issues with a customer's instance of Firefox 5.0.1 running on Windows 7, Home Premium, SP1 on a Lenovo laptop. There are two issues to be exact:
# text that is supposed to be normal weight appears bold
# some text has an incorrect amount of spacing (padding/margin) around it
These symptoms appear only on this one machine and appears to be fine in Firefox 5.0.1 across at least 3 other machines running Win 7 as well as all other browsers (IE, Chrome, Safari) we've tested in across a variety of platforms.
I've attached an image with a side-by-side comparison of the normal view next to the broken view as it appears on this specific machine.
I've tried unchecking the hardware acceleration option and restarting Firefox - did not work.
I've also tried running Firefox in Windows XP compatibility mode (as suggested here: http://www.groovypost.com/howto/how-to/repair-the-google-and-gmail-bold-font-issue/) - did not work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Firefox 4 opens TOO many empty windows on starting the browser!

Every time I open up Firefox 4 a BUNCH of empty windows load up with my LAST 'remembered' tabs. SO I have ONE window with all my tabs intact.. and then like 13 EMPTY windows and this happens EVERY time I start up firefox. I have tried everything from using the about:config and changing that one browser tab setting to 'true'... I took out the mimeTypes.rdf from the Application Basics section I even tried UNINSTALLING and REINSTALLING firefox.. I'm SO tired of all these empty windows does ANYONE know what could cause this? I also ran a 'malware' check and I have NONE. I have honestly done EVERYTHING to try to fix this... just wondering if anyone ELSE is experiencing this and if anyone else has ANY other advice! I'm about ready to switch to Google Chrome.. I don't want to! So ANY help/advice would be appreciated! Thank you!!

I keep getting "The MSN Toolbar has encountered an error. Please close all browser windows and start the browser again(Error code: 400)"

This error pops ups after I have mozilla loaded for a few minutes.

I tried installing (again) Premier Elements this morning after starting up my Win 7 PC. I did install some Windows (optional) updates and deleted several files suggested in "troubleshoot" when I got the same error mesage. The files/folders I deleteed before trying the install again are Cache, PDAppFlex.swf, and PDAppFlex-app.xml.
This lastest installation attempt resulted in the name error message I have gotten a dozen times, "The installation has encountered an error while installing. Please restart system and try again". The hangup always occurrs around the same spot while installing shared technologies. Maybe this info helps?

When Firefox quits after I close the last tab, that last tab is *always* restored the next time I start the browser, which isn't what I want.

This has been happening over the past 10 days. I've done nothing to change Firefox and see no option under options/tabs that will solve my problem.

EDIT: You can also double check the General tab of your Options to make sure "Show my windows and tabs from last time" isn't selected.

I have downloaded 4.0 and now when I start the Browser it does not go to my homepage on My Yahoo. I have to resign in everytime. This did not happen in 3.5 or 3.6 Can I solve this? Help.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site. Note: this is likely to log you out, so finish up whatever you are working on first.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache

On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
Some sites appear to be incompatible with Firefox 5. The difficulty is tracking down the problem. To see whether it is caused by the new stricter HTML parser in Firefox 4+, you can turn that off. Please save any unfinished work first.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it should turn bold).
Then return to the problem page, reload and try again. Does that make any difference?
Here's the process to roll back if needed:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 5.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

Firefox won't start. After starting the browser, it shows that it's running in task manger for a while, but then it disappears.

It works in the safe mode with networking though.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
