Start up application automactically launches IWeb?

All of the sudden when I turn on my macbook pro lap top, running tiger os x 10.4.9, I find that a program named IWeb has launched. No big deal but its annoying that I have to close it first before I continue. I have tried to research how to turn this off but my computer skills are on the fringes of a beginner. Could someone tell me what this is called so I could look it up or maybe just tell me where you go to change this? Thanks so much in advance.

Have you looked in System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items?
If iWeb is there, highlight it then click the - button to remove.

Start automator workflow upon launch of application

I'm brand new to automator, I don't know why I never used it before because it seems like a powerful tool!
Is it possible to have a workflow triggered only when a certain application is launched? I have a workflow that I saved as an application, and I added it to startup items. But I need it to start after the application is launched and I don't want to add the application to startup too.

Wait, before I forget..... I actually have two different actions on two different finder items. Is there a way to make the workflow do them one after the other? So, I would need it to open the application, run one workflow, then run the other. I was assuming that the workflows needed to be two different ones since the actions are on two different folders, if I can tie those together too, that would be great. Sorry, like I said, I'm new to automator!

Can't start VC application in Portal 7.3 tc~wd4vc~launcher error

we are trying out visual composer 7.30 with Portal. After developing in VC and deploying to portal I can't start the application. In the log-files there is the following message:
Application sap.com/tr-gruppe_impl cannot be started. Reason: it has hard reference to application sap.com/tcwd4vclauncher, which is not active on the server because application is not deployed. Probably refering application sap.com/tr-gruppe_impl declares runtime but no deploy-time dependency to the referred application which is wrong. Deploy the component sap.com/tcwd4vclauncher or contact owners of application sap.com/tr-gruppe_impl to check their references..
I have read several threads that tcwd4vclauncher doesn't exist in portal 7.30, but these threads don't offer or describe a solution which fits my problem.
Do I have to deploy the missing component? If, yes where can I get it?
Please, does anybody have met the same problem and solved it?

How to start an application in the background using "oscmd" on windows

Is there any way to launch a windows application using oscmd without suspending xmath?
From a "cmd" window one can use the start command:
> start notepad
Which starts the application without suspending the "cmd" window.
From xmath command line, one may use:
> oscmd("start notepad")
This starts the application. However, the user cannot interact with xmath as long as the application is running.

You can build a similar program into an executable and since the Parent

How do I tell which hard drive an application is launching from?

Hello. I am first time user of the support communities here. I have searched the forums prior to posting, but haven't been able to find an answer.
I have a 2011 model Mac Mini (purchased 12/2011) running OSX Lion. A couple weeks ago, I started getting a pop-up error telling me that I was running out of startup disk space. I did a check through "about this Mac" / disc utility and found that I was indeed very low on space on my stock 500GB HDD. This machine see light use, but serves as primary storage (wirelessly backed-up through Time Machine to a NAS (1TB WD MyBook World Edition) attached to my AirPort Extreme, for photos (iPhoto) and music and digital copies of movies associated to iTunes, along with back-ups (through iTunes) for 4 iPhones and an iPad for our family.
Anyway, I searched online and found that since this model had eliminated the optical drive, I could add a second hard drive. For this application, I valued space over blazing performance, so I opted for a Seagate 1TB SSHD (hybrid drive) to add to my existing 500GB drive. I was able to install the second drive just fine following these instructions and the following YouTube video as a guide. I erased / initialized the second drive through disk utility so it was mounted / usable. I needed to set the drive with available space as my startup disk, so I then installed OSX Lion (recovery USB key) on the second drive (volume "untitled") and followed the migration steps to copy all of my settings, applications, documents, etc from the stock drive (volume Macintosh HD) to the new one. That all went fine.
I seem to have the same data on both drives according to the usage shown on About this Mac > Storage. The drives are in OSX Extended (Journaled) mode. My question is that I want to free up appx 498GB of space, if possible, by removing the duplicate data from the original 500GB stock (no longer "startup" drive). Is there a downside to doing that? Is there a way to determine which drive my applications are launching from to make sure I don't have applications reading from one drive and writing to the other, or something. When I clicked "about" in a couple of sample applications to check, I can't tell... It starts the location context with /users/Matt.........iTunes.app for example. I can't tell which drive it's actually launching from / accessing right now when I open it.

Some applications absolutely must be in the main Applications folder. Others can be put pretty much anywhere but they will use preferences stored in the user's directory on whatever drive that is, and use Application Support on the boot drive. I think it would be wise to keep applications on the main drive and store only data on your other drive. However, I do occasionally end up with applications on two drives, or multiple copies of a few applications so I can process two files at the same time. Some applications tolerate being renamed and if you need/want two copies then you can perhaps label them as to the drive on which they are located.

Android Emulator get hangs on starting the application in debug Mode

I have deployed the application on Android Emulator in debug mode but on starting the app it get hangs. I have set the Java Debugging to true in the cvm.properties file and also started Java debugger from JDev before launching the ADF Mobile app on android emulator. Can any body help me to figure out the problem why the emulator gets hang on starting the application in debug Mode.

Hi, after setting the debugging = true, you would also need to start the JDeveloper debugger and configure it for remote debugging. Shay has a blog article that should help.

Finding out which jarfile that is starting the application

Ok the thing is, i need the JarFile which started the application.
With javaws, it seems like they change the name of the jar file when you deploy it with jws, so how can i in the main() method of the Main class get the instance of the JarFile which it is started from?

May i know which app you are talking about.
If you are talking about IPC then, you can generate the trace of the Product Configuration web page and in the source code you get, you can see which scenario was chosen.
If you are talking of ISA, then you can either see this in the URL that launches the app or in the XCM setting page, which scenario has been set to the default one.

Are you sure it's crashed and not 'temporarily-frozen'?
I'm having this issue with Acrobat 9, in which it launches and runs long enough to page down two times and then stops responding for about 30 seconds.

Where is my application support for iWeb? I find no Library folder in my User area at all.

I need to transfer my iWeb site to my new Macbook Pro but cannot find any "Library" folder in my User area, hence no application support for iWeb and no domain.site to transfer. How can I transfer my site? Any help is appreciated.

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.

WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Cannot Remove Start Up Applications - Followed Steps - Frustrated

Just got a new MacBook Pro with the latest 10.8.4. laptop is pretty awesome, but programs randomly launch upon startup. Sometimes I can start up and nothing launches, other times, everything re-launches. I've followed several steps:
-Looked in Users & Groups --> Login Items, there are no applications on the list - everything's been removed.
-Right clicked on all the items in my dock and none have "Open at Login" selected
w-t-f so annoying. Anyone know if there is something I'm missing? b/t this and my monitor working intermittently with a VGA connection, I'm not impressed with the new model or OS and second guessing the $1500 I just spent :-/

Hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Log out/in or restart. If it works okay, delete the plist(s) from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist(s) to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

Start javaws application just with X server

Hello!
I hope someone can help me to get my javaws application started without any window manager just by using a x server.
It works by starting xterm (xinit /usr/bin/xterm) and then stating my application in xterm by "javaws http://url".
Is it possible to get my application started directly? (Without xterm...)
Do I understand it right? Before I can start the application, X server has to be running? After that start the javaws command?
How can I get this managed?

There must be *some* foreground process to keep the connection with the xserver - in common setups a window manager will serve this purpose, but it could be anything else.
If the javaws call is backgrounded (is this mandatory / can you override this) then you need some other process.
One way would be to launch it from your xinitrc, then get the PID and wait for that PID to close. The simplest implementation of this would be with the following in your xinitrc:
javaws httpp://...
wait $?
EDIT2: The second line should be something like:
wait $(pidof javaws)
Actually, after rereading `man wait` the $? which speicfies the PID may not even be necessary.

I get "ordinal 5 (and at times 18) is not found when trying to start the application? Using windows Vista Business.

when starting the application I get the following message "ordinal 5 ( and at times 18) can not be found in the dynamic link libray" I'm using a Lenovo x300 with "Vista Business"

Have you tried to put the Main-Class under a package (e.g. move LaunchSimulator to org.jyothi.sunke.LaunchSimulator or something)? I'm not sure but it's possible that Main-Class can't be located in the "root package", because the JAR launcher can't address it.
Always put your stuff in a package, otherwise it can't be addressed by other packaged classes.

Hi Ive just started the 30 day trial in photoshop and this may sound like a silly question but how do you get into the actual application?

Can you at the very least tell us your platform, Mac or Win, and the version of Photoshop you downloaded?
You need to extract the download, install the application and launch it. In order to guide you, a lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.
