Start up drama

First attempt at forum, could not find thread relating so here goes!
Board in question K7TPro2-A(MS-6330).
Problem: When turned on at power point machine starts but Led display stays all red, that is 4 red. By turning on at power point and depressing computer power on button at a millisecond after power is on we get the Led's to do their thing and all go green. This is a two hand operation that does not work all the time and is frustrating, (don't ask how I time a millisecond).
To date I have pulled down machine swapped over connections @ JFP1 all seems to be in order. I am thinking it is a Bios / software start up setting.
Please suggest remidy software wise !!

Power supply AOpen model AXT-250T
If that model number means it is a 250W rated PSU, that could very well be the problem.
Please read the info printed on the PSU's label, and post those numbers here. Surely someone can state whether it is really capable of running your machine.
My guess is, it's either too weak, or about to give up.

  • Issue with my ap 1231

    Hi to everybody,
i have a cisco aironet AP1231G-E-K9 and as you are expecting it does not work. The problem is that it has not installed it´s Cisco IOS, the status LED´s are red-green-red which means no ios image. We had it working propertly in a client´s placement and suddenly it stopped working. We don´t know what´s going on with it.
When we attemped to enter through console access it does not make any type of response, and the same when we try through ethernet conection. It seemed like it has dead ports. The fact is when i press during 20 seconds more less the mode button at startup, it try to obtain a new ios image from a tftp server, but as there is no alive port it can´t do that.
So, please anybody can help me??
    Lots of thanks in advance

    Hi,
first of all thanks a lot for your quick response. Yes i configured my laptop ethernet port with the ip address 10.0.0.2/24 and it does not show up, that´s exactly my problem :).
When i turn on the AP, i can check that the amber and green leds of the ethernet port just switch on for a second and then they switch off for ever. Do you know what this mean?
And, i don´t know if that could help, but i write here the steps my AP make when it starts up:
    - DRAM memory test                (Green, -, Green)
    - Board initialization test           ( -, Amber, Red)
    - Flash memory test                ( -, Blinking Green, Blinking Green)
    - Ethernet initialitation test           (Amber, Green, -)
    - Association with at least one wireless client device  (¿?)    ( -, Green, -)
    - No Cisco IOS image file      (Red, Green, Red)
Look that i am from Spain, and the green led seems so much to yellow, so i obtained a fantastic spanish Cisco AP
Lots of thanks, i appreciate so much your help

  • Mistery around Intel Fortran/C compilers and my Macbook

    Hi all,
First post here. I do not want to write a long post here but I really need some enlightenment about a strange problem.
My Macbook came with Tiger and Xcode 2.4. Being a Fortran programmer, I installed Intel compilers without much hassle. Then Leopard arrived but I decided to not upgrade until receiving the green light from Intel (for months their compilers were broken for first-time Leopard users). A few months back most of issues seemed to be gone (I successfully installed the new compilers on 3 Mac Pros and 1 Intel iMac) and I was able to upgrade my Macbook to Leopard and the new compilers.
Here starts the drama : last week I had to upgrade my hard drive so I backup everything and did a clean Leopard install on a new and bigger HD (Hitachi 200Gb 7200rpm). Everything went fine except the fortran/C compilers. The error message I get is unique (try Google) :
ifort: error fatalerrorterminated: Fatal error in /opt/intel/fc/10.1.014/bin/ifortia32, terminated by segmentation violation
(I got similar message if I setup 64 bit compiler)
I can not compile anything. Even a simple hello.f. I even update to 10.5.4 but nothing changed. In fact, it was so frustrating that I decided to do another clean install of Tiger. Yes, I downgraded Mac OSX to 10.4, downloaded the old Fortran compiler (the one I had) and guess what ? I got the SAME message.
I triple checked my shell environment, looked over all libraries but nothing seems wrong. The ONLY thing that caught my attention was during the installation, when I selected to format the new disk using HFS+ journaled (non case sensitive). I do not believe that my old original drive had a case sensitive system but I did not checked it.
If you can help, it would be very much appreciated !

Here is the crash log file I am getting :

  • Cannot install windows, starting to get really pissed off with this PLEASE HELP

ok, i'm starting to get agitated with this.
i cannot install windows XP, 2003, OR Longhorn on my machine.
right now, i have the following setup:
    msi 865pe neo2 motherboard
    intel p4 3.2ghz w/HT (factory HS/Fan currently)
    1 dimm of PC3200 crucial DDR400
30GB maxtor HD plugged into primary IDE
pioneer dvd/cd drive as sencondary IDE
    alps 3.5" floppy drive
    antec true blue 480wt PSU
    i do the following:
    format with maxtor cd
    boot from OS cd
    start setup, reboot, continue
the farthest i can get is 'registering components/completing installation' i either get a blue screen stop error which isnt the same everytime, or it just locks up and doesnt do anything.
ran the memtest checker and get errors on test #4
i had a DIMM of kingston that gave the same errors, so i RMA'd it and got another. same errors, so i RMA'd again and got a Crucial stick. same errors.
so i RMA'd the motherboard since i figured it had to be that. and it improved from the problems i had earlier. (the problems i had before were worse before.)

yea, i dont plan to run the 250. im gonna wait for the new 480.
thanks for the info about ram timings as well. i havnt gotten any solid answers about what to set it to.
even with new mobo and ram, i'm getting errors in memtest86 #4 test as i always have. i've tried different slots with same problems.
i only have one module because i dont want to waste anymore money on a non-working system. once i get it up and running i'll add another 512.

  • Unable to start gnome-session or gdm

Sorry for the vague title. I don't really have any specifics to go on for this problem.
When I try to start a gnome-session through startx, I get a screen that says, "Oh no! Something has gone wrong", with no error outputs in xsession-errors.

I'm pretty lost now. I finally managed to get X working on my Nvidia/Intel combination with twm, but it refuses to work with gnome-session.
    Any ideas?

    Same problem for me too!
After kernel update on restarting GDM try to start but fails. I've last nvidia-173xx driver installed.
I've solved the problem forcing nvdia driver reinstallation. This is my Xserver log!

  • Why is my itunes not installing properly? I installed it and it was fine, then it started to show Errors. iTunes exe - Entry Point not Found. And the Error 7 (Windows error 127).Itsays to reinstall iTunes. I did that and same error. new pc, same on old

Why is my itunes not installing properly?
I installed itunes day before yesterday,  I spent hours last night linking all my music photograph and movie files, its a new windows 8 laptop.
I plugged in my 64GB ipad 3 rebooted it and reloaded all the information I wanted on it, took hours... finally completed this this morning. After this I restarted the laptop to configure my icloud link for the laptop (which I installed last night while I was loading files, I chose to restart later)
on completion I turned my laptop off for a few hours, when I turned it back on I went to itunes to connect my iphone to do the same and I got this message:
iTunes exe - Entry Point Not Found
    The procedure entry point
    AVCFPlayerAppliesMediaSelectionCriteriaAutomaticallyKey could not
be located in dynamiclink library F:\Programmes\iTunes.dll
                                                                                               OK
then after pressing 'OK' the following message:
    iTunes
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes
    Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I went back to apple website to reinstall iTunes, first reinstalled it same again, then unsinstalled it and the reinstalled it, same again.
The same thing happened with my old lap top and I replaced it with this new one at the start of the week.
Has anyone any idea what is going on and how to rectify this problem, I am now going on 3 weeks without iTunes.
    Regards,
    Damian36

I started up and plugged in my iPad  and then the following message came up:
           iTunes
❗️This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not
Installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install
        the 64-bit version of iTunes.
                                                                                             OK
I then proceeded to the "iTunes64Setup" expanded folder to load "AppleMobileDeviceSupport64"
Started the install and then received this message:
          Apple Mobile Device Support
❗️Service 'AppleMobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device)
failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient
        Privileges to start system services.
       Abort.               Retry.                Ignore
I tried all tree options, last being ignore.
I continued to download the other 2 you suggested with out any drama.
I did a system restart and then opened iTunes.
    Connected my iPad
    Then message appears:
          iTunes .exe - System Error
❌ The program can't start because CoreAdioToolbox.dll is missing from
Your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.
                                                                                           OK
Press OK and then the next message:
           iTunes
❌ iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.
          Error 7 (Windows error 126)
                                                                                           OK
    Any suggestions?

  • Black screen instead of TTYs after Xorg once started and leaved

    Hi,
I've installed Arch on my laptop and experience following issue... I log in after boot and run "startx", then openbox starts properly. This is fine, but when I leave X, I can't see anything (TTY expected). I can switch to another TTY, login as root and type "reboot" or type "killall X", then log in as regular user and type "startx" to get openbox again. So there are TTYs obviously but I can't see anything but black screen.
By leaving X (above) I mean...
    - typing "sudo killal X" in xterm
    - using openbox "Log Out" menu option
    - switching to another TTY by hitting Alt+Fn
All of these lead to the same issue.
I assume it's not Xorg problem, but I may be wrong of course. Is that driver related? I have Nvidia card and use proprietary drivers installed via pacman. Can anybody give me an advice where to look? Thanks a lot. I also attach (maybe relevant) outputs. If there is anything else needed to know please tell me and I'll post it.

I was having this exact same problem, then it just stopped. I am using the nouveau driver and I have a tnt2 card.
IIRC, I was having an unrelated problem with xorg or udev or something was having problems detecting my monitor, it claimed I had two monitors connected, I wrote an xorg.conf file and that fixed the problem. IDK if its is related or not because I don't recall exactly when things started working when I would switch ttys.
Try using the nouveau driver and see if it does the same thing, it has a kernel module so it might make difference,

  • NVIDIA Optimus on MSI GE70 2OE: No screens, then server fails to start

    Hello,
I have recently acquired an MSI GE70 2OE-071 laptop with the following configuration, intending to run Arch Linux (dual boot with Windows 7) on it:
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4700 MQ
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M (2 GB DDR5 memory)
    LCD: 17.3" FHD 1920x1080
    Memory: 12 GB DDR3
    HDD: 1 TB 7200 RPM
I originally installed Arch Linux the same way as described in the beginner's guide. I could get the basic twm setup to work, but the moment I installed the proprietary drivers (using pacman -S nvidia, followed by nvidia-xconfig, followed by a reboot), X Windows crashed, i.e. I started getting the No screens found error. So after some days of digging, I found the NVIDIA Optimus wiki page. Following the advice here, I could get rid of this error, but I still cannot get into the GUI, because the server terminates. There is no hardware problem that I can think of because Manjaro Linux works fine, and being a perpetual Arch novice eager to learn, I just wanted to get this thing to work from the ground up.
So I'd really appreciate some help.
Here are the relevant files and command outputs.

If I understand this correctly, then you have an Optimus graphics card (couldn't find anything online, but your lspci looks like it). I too have such a setup on my laptop. The thing to keep in mind here, is that your main graphics card is the Intel integrated card. So instead of installing your system like with an nvidia card, you install it like an intel card. Specifically, you would want to follow the instructions on Bumblebee. Once you followed them, the whole graphics part runs on the Intel card. Once you want to play a game or do some other heavy graphics card work you call your application like this:
    optirun wine /path/to/game.exe
Notice how optirun tells the system to use the nvidia card. It will take a second or two to start it (specifically, enable the card, start another X screen and launch the application on it transparently). Follow the instructions in the Wiki if you have any problems.
If you don't have an Optimus card (just NVIDIA, no Intel), then don't follow any Optimus instructions, just usual NVIDIA stuff from the Wiki.

  • No start up & ugly tone sound & flickering front light!!

    hello,
thanks for reading my topic question.
I have a question about my iBook's recent problems; they seem solved but little signes show I am heading for the same "crash"??
Under OS X10.3.3 (original from first buy July 2004) my iBook developed problems:
-suddenly quitting applications, at first the same ones repeatingly, later random as it seemed, Mail, Safari, iPhoto, but in the end also Dreamweaver.
-not starting up applications: showing them in the dock, but the menu's wouldn't work
-certain applications such as Toast totally vanished from the iBook. Nowhere to be found!!
-the documents folder wouldn't open: it would jam the whole computer. I don't know how many times I had to restart the iBook.. or how long I waited hoping it would finally find it's way. It seems the files in the Document folder were only accessible when displaying icons. No other folder had these kind of problems.
    - it needed reinstallment of the original cd 3 times, to get Mail back on track. But after 3 times it had no more effect. Apllications as Mail and Safari wouldn't start anymore. Finally Dreamweaver wouldn't start anymore either. And the documents file never got better after the reinstallments.
-All in all, about two months of growing trouble. I use the iBook everyday.
I starting backing up all my files.
    - in 2 months time I had 2 crashes (the black screen with sqaure in the middle, jaoanes/chinese characters....requiring a restart. I believe this =has a name and is very bad, but I can't remember the name.
Help was on the way; my familypack share Tiger 10.4 all the way from Holland to Greece.. on a dvd. As we (me and my Mac using family) thought the old system was just worn out..
All my files, everything saved on back up cd's. this was a slow and difficult process as the cd's would often not be recognized after a certain period of time (while filling it) so that I couldn't burn it. I had to start over again many times. (to have it recognized I needed to exit and reload). And in the meantime my Toast version had vanished.
-Then ready for Tiger. Erase and install....
all went well, succesfully installed, so...restart.
Seemed fine at first, but the start up never got past the white screen with the rotate gear below the Apple. I could wait a decade.. it didn't go any further.
-tried several keyoptions and restarting. no result.
-The iBook was producing a strange sound like a tone from the telephone and after this weird sound like two seconds it would flicker the little round light in the front of the iBook for one second. After that the start up would preceed untill the white screen with apple.
In all forums I couldn't find anyone with this similar detail<<<<<</div>
-ALL the tricks in the book were tried to find out what was wrong. The iBook was actually reporting to be fine!
-it reported it couldn't get passed the login window. But this was an "erase and install" new system... why the login window?? It wasn't really erasing?
    - it wouldn't start up from the original install cd anymore. So that was it. Stuck. Disaster of course.
Anyway, after searching for the Apple doctors here in Greece and thankfully being able to show the original invoice, the iBook went to Athens.
In Athens they concluded the iBook needed a new Hard Disk. I decided for 80GB instead of the 60GB it originally came with.
    It's working.
Though, Mail has already quit once. Safari has already quit once, One resart gave me the same sound and flickering light as before, the software update keeps quitting whatever I do.
Does anybody know what is really wrong with my iBook?? I can't imagine a new hard disk within another 2 months is going to be the solution.
the iBook is now running under tiger 10.4.
I tried updating this to 10.4.6 which has not succeeded as yet. (i have added this software update problem to another topic on this forum).
I feel like I'm handeling a time bomb. I never expected this from my Mac.
Maybe someone recognizes anything. Or knows what is exactly going on.
the iBook is a precious tool for me and the only computer that I have. If you would know how few mac's there are in Greece...
Doing without my Mac for one month! and having to work on windows pc's.....if I can find one with software on it. This is Greek drama!
Thanks to all you very smart Mac friends,
    Miki.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4)   1,2 GHz / 768 MB DDR SDRAM / new HD:74.53 GB Toshiba

    Sorry for your problem,
but glad to hear of a similar case.
Although it seems it did'nt occure exactly the same way it does sound very similar.
Indeed it seems not be a software problem as reinstallment of my 10.3.3. at the time didn't help much when little problems where already occuring.
In my case I was also unable to start from the original install cd after it eventually chrashed. I couldn't eject it the normal way either.
I also reset the PMU and the PRAM with no result for starting up. My screen turned white though, so just 1 step further.
    The diagnose was the HDfailure.
And after having it repaired, a new one put in, it seems to be working okay. Because of the time consuming procedures I was without mac for more than a month. (The repair here in Greece was 160 euro's for the HD, 62 for the technician, and a total of 23 euro for the courier to bring to and take it from Athens).
I didn't know of any software before (and probably) couldn't have used it anyway as there was no other mac to find in miles around/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png) to try and fix the Hard Disk. Through Apple Discussions I found something that might be of use for you:
    http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/index.html.
Disk Warrior is said to be the best in fixing hard disks. you can check with the search option to find out more what others have said or go to the site.
I'm certainly getting my copy, I'd rather be prepared for a next time.. of course no guarantee that it will actually work, but you can give it a go.
Still I am very concerned as the noisy and lighty start up DID happen again/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic ___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png
1 time when the computer required a restart.
I had only just received it back.
Maybe another experience can confirm what's actually causing this.
Good luck/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png please let me know how it works out?

  • 400 (or maybe 500) Mhz Titanium won't start.

I've adopted an old friend's Ti (of unknown configuration/OS) to see if I can get it to run. (He said he hasn't used it for over a year...but the last time he did use it, it started without a problem.)
I've read all (most) of the discussions about non-starts.
    Questions:
    1. Can I safely use my 65W 1 GHz Titanium power adapter to start the dead Ti?
    2. Can I safely use my 1 GHz Titanium main battery in the dead Ti?
    3. Does the 400/500 MHz Ti power adapter have a light on the plug that is supposed to go on (like the newer Ti's)?
At this juncture...I don't know whether the problem is A) the Power Adapter; B) the main battery, and/or; C. the PRAM battery.
(I'm trying the AC Power adapter for 48 hours with the main battery removed solution.)
Last, but unrelated, question: Will the 133 MHz DRAM work in the older (100 MHZ DRAM) Ti? I have 500 MBytes of newer Ti memory sitting here unused (I upgraded the 1GHz Ti to 1 GByte of DRAM).
    Thanks.....

Hi, John. Yes, you can use the 1GHz Tbook's battery and AC adapter safely with the slower Tibook — they'll work fine. And yes, the old AC adapter is supposed to have a ringlight on its plug. If the adapter works and the light comes on when you connect that adapter to a different Powerbook, the DC-In board in the old PB is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the light doesn't come on with another Powerbook either, the adapter may be faulty. Use the 65W adapter to charge the old Tibook's batteries, then test the older adapter with the machine it belongs to. It's possible that the 45W adapter's light won't come on when it's being used with a Powerbook that expects a 65W adapter — I'm not sure about that.
Assuming that isn't the problem, your internal backup battery is undoubtedly dead after so long. That alone would prevent the Tibook from starting, and recharging it may solve your problem. It won't take 48 hours to do so without any main battery in place; 4-6 hours should do the trick.
PC133 RAM that worked in the 1GHz Tibook should also work fine in the older one. It will operate at PC100 speed.

  • DRAM wound too tight??????? Neo 865PE Board Advice needed

    RapidShare Account-ID: 14334524

First - My computer is normally rock solid with no problems.
I turned my computer on today and it would not even boot to the BIOS.
It was if there was no power going into it but then it started to boot for about 1 second
then died. I tried again and the same thing kept happening.
I opened it up, checked the Main Board, reseated the graphics card and power cables.
This time it booted but before the bios kicked in it gave the following message:
    'DRAM is wound too tight'.
I have not changed anything in the BIOS as I would not know what to change but
it then booted to the BIOS and under the power settings it says the following:
    Dynamic Over Clocking       = Private
    Performance Mode            = Slow
    CPU Ratio Selection         = Locked
    DRAM Frequency              = Auto
    Spread Spectrum             = Disabled
    Adjust CPU Bus Clock(mhz)   = 200
    DDR Clock (mhz)             = 333
    Adjust AGP/PCI Clock (mhz)  = 66.66/33.33
    CPU VCORE Adjust            = No
    DDR Power Voltage           = 2.50v
    ?GP Power Voltage           = 1.50v
If anyone can make any suggestions I would be most appreciative as I cannot
afford to loose my computer or any data that is on it.
I'm worried that the Main Board maybe failing or maybe the RAM or PSU?
In case it matters this is what is in my system.

    Thanks in advance.

    thanks for the replys everyone.
I take it then that my problem is the PSU?
I am shocked that you rate the Q-Tec one so badly, it is the one that was supplied
with my computer and has worked with out a problem for about 3 years or so now.
I cant take a chance with it so its going in the bin.
Having done some checking I have located a trusted stockest who has
Corsair VX 550W ATX Power Supply (CMPSU-550VXUK) [CMPSU-550VXUK]
    or
Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK) [CMPSU-650TXUK]
for just ubder £80 in the UK.
Are either of these any good and is one better for me than the other considering what
main board I have. Also the new CPU has got to fit in my computer case so its physical size must match the old one.
I am not a modder so this is all a bit alien to me so any tips or hints much appreciated.
    Thanks again

  • Issue Logic 9 Crashing when new project is started

i have been having this drama with logic 9 over last few days first it was my mac pro playing up now logic,
whenever i start up logic everything works fine then when i go to new project, one of my templates or open any project it freezes , what it specifically does is when i got to the finder at top the rainbow pin wheel pops up and it just keeps spinning until i am forced to "force quit"
included is a log of what happened when it crashed last

PS i am using a OSX 10.5.8 / Macpro Intel Xeon 2.66 Quadcore late 08 model
    any help would be appreciated

yes i am using latest version of logic with Project mix i/o and novation remote keyboard (something in my head was telling me that auto map might of done this but after i uninstalled still had dramas)
every this looks ok until i got the finder then the rainbow pin wheel of death pops up and will not go away until i force quit , even bloody cubase seems to be working right

  • Compile error when using DRAM

I am using the NI PCIe-1473R Framegrabber on Labview 2010 SP1. I would like to do some image processing on the FPGA. I started off with the 10-Tap 8-Bit Camera with DRAM example. I am trying to replace the DRAM FIFO with DRAM circular buffer. I need to be able to address different parts of the image, not simply stream the image, so I can't use it as a FIFO. I created a control that is a cluster with 2 U64 elements to be able to interface with the Pack80To256 CLIP. I changed the properties of the FPGA to access the DRAM banks through Labview FPGA Memories, then added 2 memories (one for each bank) using the 128-bit control described earlier. If I do not connect anything to the output of the DRAM (Memory Retrieve Data function, Data output), the VI builds fine. However, when I connect anything such as an indicator I get an error during compilation.
ERROR: Place:836 - Not enough free sites available for the components of the
      following type(s).
BLOCKRAM    Number of Components 104    Number of Sites 96
Although the symptoms are not exactly the same, they are similar, so I tried using the patch here http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8A46A432EA47D261862577B300779F41 and the one here http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/BBD7A87F2ADC2028862577FB005F6B19
But I get the same error.
I am not in front of the development computer right now; I will add the VI and anything else that may be useful to debug this.

    Hi elsayed03,
I'm sorry you didn't find my response in my post or our conversation on the phone yesterday as informative as I meant for it to be.  Let me try to be more clear.
In the VI that you are working with, you appear to be monitoring the data stored in your DRAM banks.  The DRAM is a large memory location that can store a significant amount of data in it.  If this memory was stored on the FPGA fabric (logic gates), it could take up a considerable amount of space and significantly limit what else could be done on the FPGA.  This is the reason that the DRAM is used.  Because you have an indicator attached to the DRAM bank, the FPGA fabric is being forced to store a copy of this value as well.  In short, you are using the DRAM bank to store the data, then after reading it, storing it again in the logic gates.  Additionally, DRAM is a destructive read type of memory, so once you've read the value through the logic gates, the DRAM is destroyed.  So in effective, by adding an indicator, you are using DRAM as a transport medium from the FPGA to the FPGA with single read capabilities, which is probably not what you were looking to do.  A FIFO would be better suited for this type of data handling.
The two clusters that you are pulling out of DRAM are clusters of unsigned quad numbers.  This data type is fairly large in terms of memory usage and is avoided in most instances on FPGAs.  However, since it appears that this is the format that the data type you are working with, it appears that you are limited to using this data type.  As a rule, you will typically want to use fixed-point number to limit resource usage.  Since you can't in this instance, the best way to minimize the effect of using this data type is to avoid displaying these values on the front panel as this uses additional resources on your FPGA.  You correctly found this written in the KnowledgeBase you linked in your last post.  Performing manipulation of the data from the DRAM will not require the same resources as creating front panel objects for that same data, and that is why you can manipulate the data and compile as long as you do not display this data using an indicator.  I apologize if I was not clear in our first interactions.  In short, the fewer objects you have on your front panel, including the front panels of SubVIs the less blockram you will be utilizing.
My suggestion regarding using a larger FPGA in my previous response was in response to what seemed to be a need to display the data set to a front panel object. I assumed you were going to use a Read/Write Method perhaps to post to a Host vi.  If that was the case,  using a Target to Host FIFO might be a better way to forward this information back to the host.  Either way, you are limited by the available resources on the FPGA to do this sort of communication.
If you have additional questions, don't hesitate to let us know and we will be glad to help.  There are limitations to the physical resources on an FPGA that can't be worked around, and depending on your requirements, you may be limited in what you can do with a specific piece of hardware. If we can help you more, let us know.

  • DRAM loaded to tightly

Occasionally when I am viewing a DVD or listening to music with Windows Media Player and I do something else, the computer shuts down. If I turn it on immediately, it won't work. Give it about 20 minutes, and the BIOS screen will pop up. It will say DRAM loaded too tightly and ask me to press a key. The last two times my system shut off, I haven't gotten that message. Is it the same problem and what do I do to correct it?

Are you setting the DRAM Timings manually or using SPD??
What is your DDR Voltage set to? I know that I had to up mine a bit for stability. 2.65V seems to be the "sweet spot" on this board. I have tried everything from 2.5 to 2.9V and 2.65 seems to be the best all around for stability and performance...
Also check DOT Settings as it may be trying to OC your memory which can cause timing issues if they are set too tight as well as your memory performance settings (i.e. Turbo, Ultra-Turbo)

  • Using DW CC... Win 7 : Every time I start DW,  I get  message telling me to 'switch to" or retry.

Its more of an annoyance than a problem. I'm using Windows 7 Professional on an Intel i7 950 with 16 Gbytes of RAM and a Gforce graphics card with 3072 MBytes of RAM. I'm using the full suite of CC apps.
Every time I start DW I get this error message to "switch to" or retry before it will start. It's got something to do with a browser (I've got 3) but only Chrome has any Adobe related add ons. I recall some time many years ago I got the same message starting Corel Draw or Photo Paint. Come to think of it, that was the reason I moved to Adobe in the first place.
Any help will be gratefully accepted.

Well... Yes and no to fixing it.
I followed that link's instruction — altered for Dreamweaver and yes, it lit up cleanly as administrator but before ever it reached 'booted' stage it warned me I had 00 days of trial left and needed I to register it. OK I'm a paid up renter. I fed it my username and it finished booting only to tell me again, I had 00 days of trial left and needed to register it. I knew where this was leading before ever I entered my email and password for the second time but let it happen anyway.
Then I decided I'd continue with the instructions, log out of DW and re-start it normally. Opps! This application has already been registered on two other machines. CC Manager at it again. Another hour wasted fixing CC dramas. I rebooted the PC without any external drives connected, just the 4 internal drives. OK... Lets start DW and see what happens. I'll tell you firstly that I installed DW on this machine 6 months ago and promptly removed it. Why? Because I get quicker results using notepad++ and I needed to get a job done in a hurry. No time to try and get my head around Dreamweaver in the process.
Honestly speaking I didn't 'cancel' that installation. I didn't realize this antique process still existed.  Anyway... I reinstalled it last month with some time now to 'get my head around it'. CC doesn't speak my language and hasn't yet learned that when you tell it to remove a program, it needs to remove the registration of it too! So I got the 00 days trial left garbage again. Only difference this time it told me both the original install and second install (on the same machine) were still registered but luckily (I won't say for who) There was an option to cancel all other installations. and yes... It loaded cleanly and faster than I can recall it ever had previously. Will it keep doing this? Is this mess going to happen ever few months?
I'm prepared to believe CC's shocking uninstall is to blame. At the best of times it is a messy process, leaving registry entries and files scattered all over my drives. NOT very nice for such a complex program manager. I used to be able to keep it under control with Revo but now CC manager wants to do it all I think it needs a bib or diaper to stop messing up my computer. If this happens again now that I've killed (renamed actually) the folders in the instructions to fix lightroom doing the same thing... I'll lodge a critical error ticket.
Incidentally... How come searching for this solution didn't show up the answer you pointed me to? Is the forum search bot flaky too?
