Start up Error Problems

Hi,
K7N2 Delta
Sempron Processor
MSI- GeForce FX5200 Video Card
1Gb RAM
Creative Audigy ZS Pro Sound Card.
Just built my system with above main bits. Got spurious error messages on bootup.
"Service not Started" which according to the Event Viewer is idfferent at every boot up and has no effect on the pooter and occasionall Flash MIBI Error pops up and disappears to quick to read properly but I suspect are MSI / Videocard related.
According to the following post
Please help..."nvraidservice.exe" error at Windows startup with MSI K8n Neo2 Platinum (more & long)
Which was the same type of problem and following the advice therin I disabled MSI Live update  which seems to be the main problem however when I re-booted the computer would not even get as far as looking for drives to boot  from. I rescued it with a timely Ghost Backup and tried again with the same result.
Now I am a bit confused, I cannot turn off the offending service (which I am pretty sure is Live Update) without screwing the entire thing up.
Do I need MSI Live Update running? I do not want it and I cannot see why it should cause such a disaster after being disabled?
Can I uninstall this 3D Turbo Experience ? I do not use this machine for Games I have a proper pooter for intensive graphics but I do use it for watching TV via Win TV so if I uninstall £D will it cause problems?. What does 3D do that a FX5200 can't do on regular drivers.
I would like to remove as many unecessary MSI utilities asd I can starting with Live Update and 3D Turbo Experience + anything else I can ditch, which will hopefully clear my spurious start up errors as I strongly suspect MSI utilities are causing problems...
Can somebody give me some advice on the removal of non essential utilities  please?
Or should I just go buy an Intel MOBO and Video Card :-)
TIA

Hi,
Quote
If I have to reinstall this machine again the MSI stuff is in the bin and I am putting Intel Hardware in it.
Is this an L or ILSR?
A new install will take you less than 30 mins!
You say that you re-wrote your drive using Ghost - are you saying that the Ghost image was used on another (non-nVidia) motherboard? If so, you should have done a new XP install at the start.
Also put your Audigy card in the third PCI slot to prevent any possible conflicts.
Is APIC enabled in the BIOS (don't confuse this with ACPI)? If not, it should be enabled before and during a new XP install.
The following doesn't make sense:
Quote
when I re-booted the computer would not even get as far as looking for drives to boot from.
If this is the case then a Ghost rescue wouldn't have made any difference. If the system can't find your drives then you wouldn't have been able to write to them.
I suggest you clear the CMOS with the FSB jumper set to SAFE - see this thread:
How to clear the CMOS
Then return the (FSB) jumper to USER then install a fresh OS (after checking your APIC is enabled). Also don't forget to disable your onboard sound and don't have an active LAN line connected during install either. I'm assuming of course that you've not done ALL of this
Try to install only the nVidia LAN drivers manually after the install of XP (should be on the CD you may have to unpack it first) so that you can access the web, then download the nVidia nForce/Platform unified drivers from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
as well as your VGA card drivers if they're not included (dunno as mine's an ATI).
It may also be advisable not to install the nVidia IDE drivers at first (you should be given the option during the nVidia driver install) as some people report problems especially with older CD-ROM drives.
EDIT: TBT just saw your post! and wot he (TBT) said  :
Quote
If you have time please list your COMPLETE system specs of all you hardware, including your RAM brand, and PSU brand wattage and max amp ratings for the 3.3 5 and 12 volt rails.
I may be wrong, but a BIOS update should be done.
Good Luck and repost with any further difficulties!
Intel!!!

If the latter, please don't refer to it as "PS5".  Are you sure you are trying to start Photoshop in 64-bit mode?  Photoshop CS5 is the only Mac version that ever offered a choice between 32-bit and 64-bit modes.

    Thanks for the info Umesh,
Just to be sure - I should simply change "SOURCE_PACKAGE" to "DATA_PACKAGE" in the code of the start routine? "Source_Package" is present in two places in that code:
    METHODS
          start_routine
            IMPORTING
              request                  type rsrequest
              datapackid               type rsdatapid
            EXPORTING
              monitor                  type rstr_ty_t_monitors
            CHANGING
              SOURCE_PACKAGE              type tyt_SC_1
            RAISING
              cx_rsrout_abort.
    and then after that in:
    Migrated update rule call
      Perform routine_9998
      TABLES
        SOURCE_PACKAGE
      CHANGING
        l_abort.
Or should I revert to the 3.5 version? (as a side note, that Data Source (2LIS_13_VDITM) has been activated in 7.0 version by default, when I replicated data sources in BW).
Praveen, as to your remarks, I have the datasource 2LIS_13_VDITM (in version 7.0) active, along with the appropriate Infosource. Transformation between the DataSource and InfoSource is active, and only the transformation between the InforSource and the Cube poses problems.

    Alek

Thanks again and apologise if my post is duplicated, however i do need a solution.

It slows down my surfing, a lot and I do not notice the error page, until I notice the slow speed, because it is as small as a page can be, showing only the " -, +, & full size boxes with a border"

  • When starting computer, multiple DIAdem attempted startups (5 copies try to start) and errors.

When starting computer, multiple startups of DIAdem clog the boot up process (5 copies try to start) and error messages state "Data Finder cannot start due to an internal error  (100): invalid config  STORE! USIF  error MSG:"     I did not ask  or want DIAdem to autostart but it sure wants to.  WHY?  Any help here?

    Helllo Brad (and Matthias),
I have  been using the tool Matthias recommended and it is indeed a very useful program.  It looks like I can stop it from doing the autostart.  However, I did not intentionally cause DIAdem to autostart and do not know how this happened.  (I must have done it since no one else messes with my laptop.)
A bit of historical info.  I originally used a demo disk of ver 10.0 and then used the activation code after purchasing.  I started having trouble with auto start and decided to upgrade to version 10.2 hoping ver 10.0 would  be deleted and all troubles would be gone.  No such luck.  I now have both versions and need to remove ver 10.0.  However, the control panel and 'add or remove programs' only finds one Nat Inst program (and it doesn't identify version).
Manually starting ver 10.0, generates an error message: "cannot open data store "MydataFinder"
Manually starting ver 10.2 generates an error message: ""data finder cannot start due to an internal error (100) invalid config etc."
In  spite of error messages, the programs seem to generally  work fine.  I am in the process of using the program recommended by Matthias to eliminate startup issues. I am also considering uninstalling and re-installing but am uncertain of which version will be uninstalled since only one program is identified.
After I send this, I'm going to do a restart and see if problem with multiple restarts has been eliminated.
    Thanks for all your  help.

  • RRAS doesn't start. Error 8007042a. EventID 20103

    Hi all.
When I install and enable the Routing and Remote Access service on a Windows 2008 R2 (with Remote Access and NAT), the service does not start (EventID 20103 - Unable to load C:\Winnt\System32\Iprtrmgr.dll).
    In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess\RouterManagers\<protocol>\DllPath:
     Value data: %SystemRoot%\System32\Iprtrmgr.dll
Iprtrmgr.dll is located in the C:\Windows\System32\
When I install RRAS without Remote Access, the service is start without errors.
Can anybody help me to solve this problem?
P.S. sorry for my bad english.

A complete solution to the RRAS won’t start with 8007042a or event ID 7024, aka the “routing remote access unable to load Iprtrmgr.dll” problem.
History: The history of this error, which has mostly gone unsolved, dates back to Windows 2000.
    Platforms affected: Windows Server 2008 R2, Server 2008, Server 2003 R2, Server 2003, Server 2000 (both 32-bit and 64-bit installs are affected).

Event ID: 7024 The Routing and Remote Access service terminated with service-specific error 193 (0xC1).
Event ID: 20103 Unable to load C:\WINDOWS\System32\iprtrmgr.dll . (32-bit installs).
Event ID: 20103 Unable to load C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\iprtrmgr.dll . (64-bit installs).
Cause: There are two basic causes for this error.
An incorrect key in the registry if you are running IPv6.
    TCP/IPv4 corruption.
    Related causes:
This has happened to me on a couple of Dell Windows 2003 R2 64-bit servers that had Broadcom NetXtreme II adapters. My problem was the second cause above, TCP/IP corruption, which I believe that happens for some reason when you install the driver for the
Broadcom adapter. It certainly may happen with other adapters, but there were definitely a high number of unsolved cases on the Internet with various Broadcom adapters.
    Additional factors:
This happened even on clean installs as I tested using both the Dell-specific Windows Server 2003 R2 media, and Microsoft media downloaded from the Volume License site. It happens with either media.
Troubleshooting that did not work for me, or most people on the Internet:
    Reinstalling clean.
Running sfc /scannow (I got no errors).
Comparing, and replacing, the iprtrmgr.dll’s from a working server.
Reinstalling the NIC’s after deleting them from Device Manager.
Running “NETSH INT IP RESET C:\reset.log” or “NETSH RESET WINSOCK”.
    Running “NETSH WINSOCK RESET”.
Checking for ghost adapters after setting devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and then showing hidden devices in Device Manager (I had none).
Reregistering Oledb32.dll and Oledb32r.dll , and renaming C:\Windows\System32\ias \dnary.mdb, and ias.mdb files and restarting RRAS. Those files are located in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory on 64-bit systems. This was in KB840696
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840686.
    Solutions:
If you have Server 2008, and are running TCP/IPv6, your problem is probably not TCP/IPv4 corruption, but rather that you have this extra key, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\currentcontrolset\services\remoteaccess\routermanagers\IPV6, which you will remove after
you back it up by exporting it. Removing this key was an easy solution that widely helped many people on the Internet.
If you still want to use the TCP/IPv6 protocol you may have to do more. Since I did not apply to my server, and I could not test it, you may still have IPv6 corruption, and may want to troubleshoot by removing and reinstalling the TCP/IPv6,
akin to the solution below. The above solution may just be masking potential corruption by avoiding the issue.
If you are not running IPv6, the chances are that you have TCP/IPv4 corruption, and the solution is to reinstall it. If you have never noticed, if you try to uninstall TCP/IP, it is grayed out. To get around that, I followed KB 325356:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325356 . That says it is for a domain controller, but works on member servers also. The steps are:
Just in case, disable RRAS in the RRAS mmc, as this will uninstall it.
    Backup your registry.
Ignore steps  1-4, and step 21 if you are just on a member server.
    1.Restart the domain controller.
2.When the BIOS information appears, press F8.
3.Select Directory Services Restore Mode, and then press ENTER.
4.Use the Directory Services Restore Mode password to log on.
5.Click Start, and then click Run.
6.In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
    7.Locate the following registry subkeys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2
8.Right-click each key, and then click Delete.
9.Click Yes to confirm the deletion of each key.
    10.Close Regedit.
11.Locate the Nettcpip.inf file in %winroot%\inf, and then open the file in Notepad.
    12.Locate the [MS_TCPIP.PrimaryInstall] section.
    13.Edit the Characteristics = 0xa0 entry and replace 0xa0 with 0x80.
14.Save the file, and then exit Notepad.
15.In Control Panel, double-click Network Connections, right-click Local Area Connection, and then select Properties.
16.On the General tab, click Install, select Protocol, and then click Add.
17.In the Select Network Protocols window, click Have Disk.
18.In the Copy manufacturer's files from: text box, type c:\windows\inf, and then click OK.
19.Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click OK. (Note: This step will return you to the Local Area Connection Properties screen, but now the Uninstall button is available).
20.Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click Uninstall, and then click Yes.
21.Restart your computer, and then select Directory Services Restore Mode as mentioned in steps 2 - 4.
22.In Control Panel, double-click Network Connections, right-click Local Area Connection, and then select Properties.
23.On the General tab, click Install, select Protocol, and then click Add.
24.In the Select Network Protocols window, click Have Disk.
25.In the Copy Manufacturer's files from text box, type c:\windows\inf, and then click OK.
26.Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click OK.
    27.Restart your computer.
Configure and Enable Routing and Remote Access.
At this point, your RRAS should start.
    Related problem and solution:
When I would enter a static IP address, although it would hold the static, the properties would reset back to “Obtain an IP address automatically”. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network and delete the Config key. Reenter
your static settings, and they should hold, and rebuild that Config key.
I hope this solves this difficult problem for many of you.

  • Opmnctl fails to start with error:  "Main: Nls Initialization Failed!!"

Hi. Just thought I would add this here since someone else will probably hit this error when attempting to start opmnctl: "Main: Nls Initialization Failed!!" when using 10g App Server on Windows.
There is a known workaround, which is to avoid libociei.so, but I don't have that object on windows, so I found that I have some conflict with other installed programs on this server. I removed them from the path, even the end of the path, opened a new command window, then, opmn started with no problem.
Probably not a long term solution, but if you are working on a dev server, like I am, you probably have a bunch of stuff installed that is no longer used ;)
    Hope this helps someone,
    Robin

Actually, I would first check on metalink to see if there is anything that can help with this error message. I resolved it by cleaning up the environment, but you probably need to keep your existing environment the way it is, since you have already installed.
Sorry--I didn't read through your question very well the first time.
