Start up password

while trying to recover original system password with the Mac OS installation disk, the system rebooted and now when I try to turn it on,I face the same pop-up requesting the system password, which I don't have !!!!
I cannot seem to get around it. I cannot access the installation disk by using the ALT key or the C key, because it is stuck on the password request.
Can anybody help out????

Hi, the following link should be of assistance as it sounds like you have an 'Open Firmware' password set (assuming the password you are being asked for is prior to the computer booting into Mac OS X).

    @mugsydean
    1. Press WInKey+R
    2. Type "netplwiz" (without quotes).
    3. Uncheck the box "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer".
Then you'll have to enter twice your password.

  • Database Error when starting UCM - Password Expired?

I'm getting a database error (see full stack below) when I try to start UCM after Weblogic. I was not having this problem before. When digging through the stack trace (below) I notice one of the error its outputting is that my password expired. However, I'm able to connect to the database using SQL Plus just fine, and even changed the system password just to be safe. Same error. I tried researching the issue even further: tried following this - http://kishantha.blogspot.com/2010/03/oracle-enterprise-manager-console.html , but when i ran the 'emctl stop dbconsole' i got a config issue, which led me to a different blog post when i tried running 'dbca' to configure and it gave me the following error - "Listener is not up or database service is not registered with it. As for the listener issue, did you follow the suggestion, or just dismiss it because "from what I can tell my listener is running just fine" Did you verify that the db instance was registered to the listener? What did you see from 'lsnrctl status'?

  • Dbconsole wont start after password changes

I have an oracle database on a test windows image that i haven't used for a while. the passwords for lots of accounts had expired, including MGMT_VIEW. I have reset the password on the account to MGMT_VIEW without realising that wasn't the original password for this account and also that you should not touch the password for this account (although what you are supposed to do with it, when Oracle is complaining that the password has expired, is another question). Now however, the dbconsole won't start up at all.
the release of Oracle is 11.1.0.7
    1) Is there anything that can now be done to "fix" the dbconsole ?
    2) where are the logs for the dbconsole that would explain why it is failing to start ?
I realise now (now everything has failed!) that MGMT_VIEW is a super important account and you should never touch its password (because it will break lots of things!) but it is done now and i need help to get my database working again.
sorry for the stupid question but hope someone has some hints.
    thanks

i solved the issue after another days work.
i couldn't reconfigure the dbconsole because of the max reuse limit (i was trying to reuse the same password) set in the MONITORING_PROFILE profile. it was causing all sorts of problems when the emca tried to recreate the DBSNMP user object.
after working through lots of KMs to manually drop the dbconsole / EM repository objects and figuring out this limit above, then i managed to reconfigure dbconsole and get it to run again.
    thanks for your help.

  • Ocactl start Error:Password store missing.

    Hi All
I need to apply patch 9.0.4.2 to an OracleAS 9.0.4 installation. But it seems to have Oracle Certificate Authority installed. my problem is that the OCA password is missing or maybe there is an installation error.
when i try to start OCA with ocatl i get the following message
    Error: Password store missing
Since i have to install the 9.0.4.2 path i don´t know if there´s any problem with this issue
    any help would be appreciated

I am working on a second server, updating the port number for the Infrastructure repository from the default port 1521 to a different one. I am following the instructions in http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13995/ports.htm#i1035175 and I am getting the same error.
I do not have that ocmpassword.p12 file either, but the funny part is that I don't have this file either on our production server and I have already made this identicle change following these exact steps. I even typed up the step by step instructions for what I used and did in a text file!
That is the strange part. It worked before on another EXACTLY IDENTICAL server. The only thing that is different is the hostname. I kid you not.
Any other reasons, could be getting this error. I am stuck at this point.
    Thank you,
    Tony

  • I set a start up password. But now, i am unable to unlock my iPad. What can i do?

Can anyone offer me some advice please?

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone

  • Has anyone started making all the password changes necessary to ward off the effects of the Heartbleed bug?

Everything I have read about Heartbleed is enough to make you go back to the age before computers. However, even if you did, the support systems for everything these days is computer based. So there's no escaping it. Plus this is only the beginning. I wonder what will be next?
Anyway, I have started making password changes after carefully checking each website for vulnerability. It is a tedious process to say the least. It is painstakingly slow.
Does anyone have any ideas to make this process easier and less painful?

This may not help you this time but I use LastPass as my password manager and they made it very easy because they very quickly released a tool that allowed me to automatically check all of my stored passwords and alert me to which ones were for affected sites and whether or not the site had yet corrected the problem. Additionally LastPass has always been able to sense when I make a password change for a site that I have a stored password and makes it easy to store the change. It also has a capability to generate passwords with random characters, etc. http://blog.lastpass.com/2014/04/lastpass-now-checks-if-your-sites-are.html
In terms of help for this time, the password generation ability and the ability to store the passwords is something that may make your job easier.
