Start-up problems...help please
I was told my start-up should only last 10-15 seconds, but it takes at least 60 seconds for my computer to boot up. Is there anyway I can fix it to start up faster? what are the reasons it may be slower when booting up? thanks
It's possible you have too many applications opening when you start up. To see what you have go to:
System Preferences-Account-Login Items
If you see non essential applications starting simply remove them by highlighting them and then click the - symbol at the bottom of the box.
Another possible (however unlikely) cause is your internal HD is failing. You can easily check it's status by running Apple Hardware Test. A less comprehensive test is to open Disk Utility-Highlight your internal HD-Choose First Aide Tab and see if the S.M.A.R.T. status is Verified. If it is the HD is probably fine, if it shows anything else then it's in trouble.

Soundtrack problems - help please
Help please. I tried doing a send to multi-track project from FCP with the base layer video option and kept getting the 'error sending selection to Soundtrack Pro' message. I did a search and the suggestion is that I have no disk space but I have over 600GB!
Then I tried a send with the full video and the file saved okay. However when I try to open the .stmp file, Soundtrack Pro starts and then freezes. I've tried opening in various ways.
Help please, I just cannot figure this out! What am I doing wrong?Not sure how much help this is, but since you're having problems with the layout, did you try deleting the layout file? MacintoshHD/users/username/Library/Application Support/Soundtrack Pro/Layouts
BTW, I found a BKiLifeConfiguration.plist in the following path:

Can't start Macbook..help please
Ok, so I was in my Windows partition and I shut down to restart to Mac and it won't load.
It's just the blue start up screen for a while. So I put in the Mac OS installer and it takes it a while to load, but it does. And wants me to reinstall it. It shows my hard drive and my windows partition. But when I try to install it on the disk, it says there is an error. So i went to my disk utility and tried to repair my disk. IT says that there was an error coming out of the process or something.
What do I do?
I need help please. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.If Disk Utility is showing a problem that it can't fix, then you'll need something stronger such as DiskWarrior. BTW, exact message help tremendously.

I am currently using Application Express 3.1.2.00.02 I have developed an online questionnaire with a multiselect list for one of the questions. The problem i am having is that i need each choice to be totaled up separately on the report generated.
My table of answers looks like this:
Column name e.g. (Question 9)
Answer "Dog" "Cat" "Mouse" "Snake" (underneath column name Question 9 depending on what is selected).
The reporting page would look like below:
*(Column Question 9)* Count
Dog 1
Mouse 1
Snake 1
and for the question you could have another respondent who chooses similar of items on the multiselect, so their answer looks like this:

This would then start a new row on the reporting page like below which is not what i want:

K8N Neo2-fx Ram problem Help please
I have three ram(2x512MB single sided , 1x1GB double sided). Is there any way I can put them all on the motherboard? When I place them all the computer is not starting and it`s making a "beep" every 2-3 seconds. If i connect the 1GB double sided on the Dimm1(green) and the one 512MB single sided on the Dimm3(green) it`s working properly. Is there any way I can use all my ram at the same time. I`m desperate. That's the rule mate which you need to gives all your component in details including your PSU and Bios revision so that others can help you! Like what BOSSKILLER say it won't works with 3 DIMMS unless you purhased another 1 GB of RAM then it can solve your problem with 4 DIMMS or else with 2*512MB RAM. Make sure that you've lowered your HT to <=800Mhz as default is 1000Mhz. GD luck. -
VIRUS PROBLEMS, HELP PLEASE???
I continue to have messages popping up saying my computer is infected. It wants me to cleanup and I have to register with Mac Shield 2.6. Pronograhic websites keep popping up. Anyone having this problem? Did not have this problem yesterday, but it's here today! There is also a Red Sheild on the top of the toolbar where it shows the time, battery life, etc. Right clicking on the sheild drops down Scan Now, Cleanup, Control Center, Scan, System Info, Settings, About, and Register. A pron site just popped up again! Need help Please!!

Your exactly right, it is possible that if you visit a site and need the scripts to run for something that the malware that uses Javascript is on that site, then your going to be presented with it.
The thing is with the Firefox + NoScript combination defeats alot of the web side trickery the malware authors are using to get the malware to appear in the first place.

1) If the user submit the form without checking at least one checkbox, then the system should be

These are working well. But my problem is how to wrote the "AddNewFinal.jsp" page to save these

It is clearly that your problem is not on the database end, more like a servlet/jsp issue.
I will not comment on the javascript portion, but rather the 2 jsps.
a simple way to trace what's go wrong is to check the final result (the html code) of the first jsp (showFinal.jsp), and compare against what is expected by the 2nd jsp (AddNewFinal.jsp). Most browser do provide "view source" on the page visited.

not too sure on your intension, assume you wish to update only those selected (checked) row to db.
some suggestions:
1) <input type="text" name="ChkNicno" size="10"> </td>...
<input type="text" name="basicSal" size="10"> instead.
then use javascript to based on checked element index (refer to javascript spec for more details), for those index not checked, clear off the correspond index "basicSal" field value.
e.g. ChkNicno[1] is not checked, empty basicSal[1] value before submission.
This will give us only selected rows values.
2) retain the code

Hello! Thanks for reading. I'm not very experienced with the Mac OS; I've always been a Windows guy myself (sorry!), but I had to get a MacBook Pro for school when I switched majors last Fall.
Also, I really apologize for the length of this post, but I'm kind of freaking out here. This computer was really, really expensive, and it's mandatory for my major, and has all of my work on it. Any help or comments are greatly appreciated!
Here is some prerequisite information before I continue:
-The computer involved is a MacBook Pro from June 2012 (not the newer Retina Display one) running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
-It has a 750GB HD, 16GB of RAM, and a 13.3" screen.
-I bought the computer used.
-I have never experienced any other problems remotely like this with the computer.
WHAT WORKS:
-Internet Recovery, Mac OS X Utilities
WHAT DOESN'T WORK:
-Everything else
So last night, my computer froze. I could do nothing but switch between desktops (swiping to the left or right with three fingers), so I pressed the power button to force shut down. But, upon rebooting, I was greeted by a folder with a question mark, flashing on and off. After doing a bunch of stuff (resetting the PRAM, resetting the SMC, trying and failing to enter both single-user and safe modes, etc.), I finally got Internet Recovery to work (after multiple attempts and receiving multiple error codes, none of which have ANY support or even mention on Apple's site) and the computer to get to a place where I could access Mac OS X Utilities. Unfortunately, I have no Time Machine backups, nor do I have the reinstall disc (I bought it used), and the "Get Help Online" option yielded nothing. However, Disk Utility was readily available. The day was saved! Or so it seemed.
When I click on Disk Utility, the only options on the left are "SuperDrive"--the CD drive, which is greyed out--and "disk0," with a dropdown category of "Mac OS X Base System." I have scourged the internet far and wide, and I can find absolutely nothing on what to do next, or what these directories even are. The Apple support site says to highlight my HD, go to the First Aid category, and click "Repair Disk;" however, my HD is not listed (unless it is, for some reason, going by the name of "disk0") and the "Repair Disk" option is greyed out, as are all the others.
I have absolutely no idea what to do next. I have tried booting up in safe mode and single-user mode, but the computer is having none of that. I've reset the PRAM and the SMC. I've tried holding cmd+R, D, and R during bootup to no avail. The only thing that seems to work is holding opt down during startup to get to Internet Recovery. I seriously cannot fathom the possibility that the forced shut down I performed last night could have seriously damaged the physical HD. I may not be an expert on the Mac OS, but I do have some basic computer knowledge. I'm probably going to take it in to a Genius tomorrow (it's Labor Day today), but I'd really like to get this solved without them (my budget is almost non-existent). I'm also really, really hoping that a complete wipe of the HD is not necessary.

Start-up problems. Please help me.
Iv'e got this very annoying problem with my brand new computer. When I power it up, 7 out of 10 times it'll just simply stop at the very first screen. You know, the screen where it counts RAM, tells you which CPU you have and so on. It never starts counting ram, and never shows any data, it only shows the very first text at the top, and at the bottom it says "Press TAB to POST, press DEL to enter BIOS". I can't even do this, it freezes, and I'll have to reboot about 5-7 times until it suddenly starts showing info and pass the start screen, letting me enter XP and operate the machine as normal.

What could be wrong? I guess there is something I'll have to change in my BIOS. I installed the drivers from the CD but haven't updated the BIOS. Could this be the problem?Have you tried clearing CMOS? Unplug the cord from the power supply to the surge protector, move the CMOS jumper from pins 1 and 2 to 2 and 3, wait about 15 seconds, then move it back to pins 1 and 2. Plug the PSU back in and try to boot. This should fix the problem if the BIOS settings are wrong.

MBP start up problem. Please help
When I turn on my MBP the screen stays black. I don't hear the start up tone. The power light in the front of the machine turns on then dims to low. I hear the HD start up but then all goes silent. Any suggestions anyone?

A limited repair is also performed as part of a Safe Mode boot.

If safe mode won't boot you can try using single user mode and then run fsk:

The two latter ones have free trial versions that let you see if the software will help before you decide to buy but you have to have an empty hard drive to dump the results. Diskwarrior does repair in-situ.
However, if you're getting a boot error perhaps you can paste some of the message here because it may be that something else (potentially simple like a single missing file) may be wrong and would save you the $100-$200 of all the software purchases.
