Start Up Screen on thye Zen touch...it may work

My option for changing the startup is not greyed out in Mediasource. I want to try it, but I want to be able to change it back to the original screen if I don't like the new test one. Anyone have a link to that image?

it's October and this really annoying problem still exists !
the unnamed screensharing-loginwindow keeps "Connecting...", and I'm unable to shut it down...
...even after my screen sharing session is over
...even force-quitting is impossible (this 'app' just isn't showing up in the force-quit-window...)
please Apple - fix this ; under 10.5 it was working great !
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this ?
(besides restarting my Mac)
Thanks !

Try # 2 and 3 in link below. If neither work, your screen digitizer might need to be replaced.

  • Zen Touch still not working on pC

After countless tries, and following of instructions by Uber Gurus and whatnot, My zen touch can still not work on my pc.
Since I got my zen, it worked fine on my pc, but randomly one day it started malfunctioning.
It started with my pc freezing on loading the library in nomad explorer and mediasource, now the library does not load at all and nomad explorer shows nothing. GODDAAMNIT this is pissing me off.
It works on another computer but that's not what's bothering me.
I have installed the newest drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled, I've done the same with mediasource and nomad explorer.
--I have gone into recover mode, cleaned up, and rebooted, result: NONE!!!
It works on another computer so what can be the problem?
---I've cleaned the registry of any creative tracks and what? NOTHING!!!
There has to be something, honestly, so far all I've written in the forums is complaints and problems.

When you restore, Touch ID will not work.
Maybe you backup is not good? Try restore as new:

  • Zen Touch buttons not working prope

Recently THe forward button has been either pauseing my player or randomizing all tracks. The back button also needs to be pressed more then once or hard to get it to work.... Anyone know why it has begun doing this?

HI All. The problem with the Zen Touch buttons starting to behave strangely is well known in the old users community. Luckily enough, somebody documented very well the instructions to disassemble the unit and fix the issue on another Zen users forum:http://www.nomadness.net/modules.php...ewtopic&t=8668 Believe me: it needs great patience, but it works. And I speak on the base of my personal, direct experience Cheers,M.E.A.

  • Why do I need to start up Screen Sharing twice to get it to work ?

I have an Intel Mac Mini connected to my TV, so I started using Screen Sharing from my MacBook Pro to be able to work on it when others were watching TV.
Both Macs used to have OSX 10.5 Leopard, and everything worked fine.
Now they both have OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard, and whenever I startup Screen Sharing, the connection-windows asking for my Name & Password comes up properly, but then it hangs... it stays in "Connecting..." for ever (litteraly).
I'm not able to quit or force-quit the connection-window by then, so it stays in view...
(Screen Sharing isn't even listed in the force-quit list as a running app)
    but...
when I just try Screen Sharing again, I get connection immediately and it seems to work flawlessly...
...it's just that the connection-window is impossible to quit...
it stays in view an is really annoying...
    this looks really crappy...
can anyone tell me why I do need to startup Screen Sharing twice to get it to work ?
    Is this a bug ?
(If so : please apple fix this a.s.a.p.)
...or am I doing something wrong ?
(if so : what am I doing wrong ? and how can I get rid of this annoying screen ?)
Thank you for your kind reply.

  • Zen Touch doesn't work with Napst

I just got a Zen Touch, thinking that it works with Napster files. AM I mistaken? When I try to transfer Napster files I get a "license missing" error. (I am a current Napster subscriber).
    Help!

The pay downloads should work. The Zen Touch will have to support Napster To-Go (and you'll have to pay more per month) to transfer the things you download as a part of a premium subscription.
But again, the $.99 downloads should transfer.

  • Touchpad on my Zen Touch is not work

Hi, I have had my Zen Touch for approximately 2 years now. It was working great, no complaints. But about a month ago, the touch pad stopped working. I tried resetting it, but to do that you need to work the touchpad. My warranty expired obviously. How can I fix it's

  • Zen Touch: battery not working anym

I have bought my Zen Touch a bit more than a year ago, so I am not covered anymore by the warranty (and apparently I can get any official support from Creative...) Not many serious problems so far, up to a few days ago.
I can only use my Zen Touch when plugged on the power cord. The battery is not responding. When plugged using the cord, I don't have any indication of the battery being charged. When I take out the plug, the player "dies". I tried to connect using the USB cable (and without the power plug) but that did not work (I think that was not working on mine since the beginning anyway.)
So far, I have looked for a similar problem on the forums, reset the player, rebuilt the library... Without any result.
If you have an idea how to solve this problem, that would be nice Otherwise, I will open it to see what the battery looks like...
    Thanks.

    Yep, try a reset.

  • Zen Touch touchpad stopped work

Alright so I bought my Zen Touch 20GB on September 4th, 2005, for $200. It's been great for the year since until recently the touchpad just stopped working... I updated the firmware to 2..0 just now and it still doesn't work. The Random button works so right now all I have it a huge Creative Zen Touch Shuffle.
I believe my free -year warranty expired just a couple of days ago which is quite unfortunate. I didn't purchase any extended warranty. Not sure what to do now. Any ways to fix it's Does the player have any value any more?Message Edited by artanisxvi on 09-08-2006 05:45 PM

A couple of days might be wai'ved when dealing with Creative's warranty. Act fast. Try reseting the player, and if that doesnt work, contact creative through email (support>contact). They still should honor the warranty, if you are really polite =)

  • App gets stuck on start-up screen at launch iPod Touch 5th Gen - full disk issue

Can't do anything. IPod touch 5th generation.
    thoughts?
This is all that I can see...
A couple more notes... I have the latest version of iOS and 2.7GB of free space.
I have rebooted to release memory and it still gets stuck on the intro screen.
Are there any users out there who have this working on a 5th Gen iPod Touch?

    Hi,
there are some users that have run into the same issue, we have not been able to reproduce this issue which means that we need your help.
If you could give us the crash logs that would help a lot, they are available at the following locations on your desktop once you've connected the device to it:
    OSX: /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/DeviceName/PSTouchphone....log
    Windows: C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\DeviceName\PSTouchphone....log
    The known workarounds are:
Uninstall and reinstall from iTunes with USB (normally works)
If that doesn't work the only known workaround is to upgrade your iOS version.
Did PS Touch always behave like this on your iPod? I.e. - when did you first install and start PS Touch?
If not can you recall how you installed PS Touch the first time?
Over iTunes or AppStore? And do you recall how you updated it?
    thanks,
    Ignacio

  • The screen of my ipod touch is not working. it turned white with green bars. what shall i do? :(

I didn't drop it. Im using it for only 9 days.... why did it happened?

For a blank iPod or "white screen of death"
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
All the troubleshooting steps in the above are likely to lead you to restoring the iPod. Follow the instructions in this procedure to the letter. Here they are, with emphasis on some easily overlooked requirements:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Select the iPod in iTunes and choose "restore from backup".
If you still can't get it to work, you have done all you can and only Apple will be able to help.

  • 20 GB Zen Touch won't work at all

... and I've only had it for 5 days!! Last night I tried to play some music on it only to find:
    - the touch pad isn't working
    - to navigate i need to use everything but the touch pad
    - it won't play any music at all
    - I can't access the menu screen properly
I can't access the rebooting screen either. I've heard the "clicking" sound it makes and tried slapping it on the back but that didn't really help and I've also reinstalled the software.
I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else at all, or did I just manage to buy a defecti've one? Anyone know how I can fix this? It was working fine for the past four days until it suddenly stopped working properly yesterday and now I'm just getting really mad/frustrated.

Sorry if youre already tried this but only thing i know of - not quite sure by your post
to access menu you have to stick a small object like a pin or paperclip into small hole situated on the bottom left of player. At same time hold down play this should bring up menu. Press either reboot or clean up or both if other doesn't work

  • My zen touch has stopped work

completely, doesnt work, first the screen stopped working and now you cant turn it off and it makes a buzzing noise when the headphones are attached, i've tried resetting to no avail and i cant enter rescue mode as the screen doesnt work, is it gone cimpletely or is there anyway to fix it's

You can try connecting it to the mains adapter and resetting a few times (5-20). If it doesn't revi've after this it's faulty.

  • Start up screen quest

is there a recent firmware that will allow me to change the start up screen for my zen touch 20GB?

No, the only firmware that allowed this was the original one, which isn't even available from Creative anymore.

  • Change start up screen on to

What do i need to do to change the start up screen on the Zen touch? And how do i go back to the old firmware?

You need a monochrome bitmap of the correct size. As I think you're hinting at the newest firmware seems to have a problem, but I honestly wouldn't bother downgrading just for startup screens. They get boring very quickly.
