Start up screen will not stop.

When I turn my MacBook on I get the gray screen with the apple and the spinning dashes, but it will not go any further. I left it open today for hours and it stayed on that screen. What does this mean?
Before this happened I had been working on the computer and it just froze up. Nothing would work so I force quit with the power button.

What operating system are you running please?

I have a 13" MacBook purchased almost two years ago. The computer recently froze completely. I tried to restarted the computer but it would just go to the white start up screen (w/ Apple logo) over and over again. I turned it off completely and let it sit for a hour or so while it was plugged in. Now when I turn on the computer it will not turn on - it makes the Apple chime and goes to the white start up screen with grey logo.
Is there anything trouble shooting I can do to try and resolve this problem?

You can reset your phone to factory settings if you wish to see if it corrects your issue. Resetting to factory settings will wipe out all your data so you should save it first. To save all your stuff download and install BlackBerry Link on your computer from the link below. Resetting will not back-up the OS on your phone. Once you have downloaded and installed BlackBerry Link connect your phone to your computer and save your stuff. Once saved disconnect your phone from the computer.
To reset your phone: tap the Settings App, scroll down and tap Security and Privacy, tap Security Wipe, tap the blank box and enter blackberry.
Once Wiped reconnect your phone to your computer and install your stuff.

Screen will not stop blinking

Screen is blinking and contains the following in plain text:

I tried connecting it to a power source and also to my computer and it still hasn't stopped. In addition, my computer isn't recognizing that it's even connected. I tried to reset it by switching the hold button on and off and holding down the Menu portion of the wheel and that hasn't worked either.
What should I do?

It can be a long list of items including being exposed to a static discharge, dropping it, getting it wet, overheating it, getting it too close to Bill Gates, feeding it pirated music, putting Blue Canyon Boys hardcore bluegrass on it, etc.

My data wheel will not stop spinning (i think i am being tapped)

Perhaps it's trying to access your voicemail. Is that working properly? Does the Phone app work?
Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

The simplest operation your Mac can do is start up with the Option key held down. The code is all in ROM. It uses a One size fits all resolution to light up the display and draw an icon for each potentially bootable Volume.
The most effective thing your Mac can do when confused is to start up using the Shift key. It does one pass of Disk Utility "Repair Disk" then boots up with minimal extensions loaded and ask you to login. But if your Mac is really sick, it may never get there.

Had hard drive failure on MacBook 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo, so had to rebuild the OS on new drive. Was on Lion 10.7.5 prior to failure, but had to reinstall Snow Leopard 10.6.3 since that was most recent OS on media I had. After finally getting ethernet connection to router working, was able to get to internet and download / upgrade to 10.6.8. I assume I can probably buy the upgrade to Mountain Lion 10.8 from there.
Problem is this, Airport will not stop self-assigning IP address for my wireless connection, and unless I can get wireless back on this laptop, doesn't make a lot of sense to continue the rebuild and reinstall of all the software that was on it prior to HD failure. Only way to my home network and router is ethernet now. Everything else on my network (Apple MacBook Pro laptops, iPhones, desktops, and non-Apple printers and laptops) is hooking up to router wirelessly fine.
Any ideas how to resolve successfully so that the airport will stop self-assigning and allow the router to assign the IP address?

I know exactly what you mean. I got that as well. On a few of them, when I opened the websites using the generic test screen icons and then closed them, they changed back to the way that they should look. For the ones that did not change, I recreated the home screen shortcuts and deleted the generic looking ones - the test screen icons.
And don't get me started on iBooks.
For the very limited use that I make of the iBooks app, i haven't noticed any problems, but I rarely use the app. I don't read books on the iPad other than a few user guides and if they are pdf guides, they reside in more reliable and feature rich pdf apps on my iOS device.
I wish that I had the fix for the spinning activity icon, but everything that I try, is temporary at best. IMO, this is the buggiest iOS update that I have seen, and I have been using iOS devices since iOS 3 on my first iPad. I realize that there are plenty of people that are not experiencing issues, but I have seen a number of weird things that I wish I could fix. None of my problems are major, but they are annoying.

My ipod touch will not stop playing music. I will pause the music, leave the playlist, and after 30-60 seconds, the music starts playing again. I use my ipod when I run and when I drive (hook it up to the stereo). It is very annoying when I stop to take a phone call or listen to directions, turn off my music, and then hardly a minute into my stop, the music starts right back up again.

Sounds like it is hanging when you exit and later try to restart Firefox.

Nano will not stop scrolling songs

Nano is continually scrolling through all songs without allowing me to play any of them. It just starting doing this after using it without problems for over a year. It will not stop, but scans through all songs without letting me play them. When I touch the play button it stops for a split second then goes back to scanning all my songs. I have tried everything to fix it.

Okay, the problem is fixed. Try this, It worked for me.
Deauthorize and reauthorize your account in iTunes
In some cases iTunes may "forget" that your music is authorized. You can refresh the authorization by deauthorizing and then reauthorizing your computer. To deauthorize a computer:
1. In iTunes, choose Deauthorize Computer from the Store menu (your computer needs to be connected to the Internet).
2. In the resulting dialog, enter your Apple ID and password.
3. Click OK.
You can now reauthorize your computer by simply trying to play one of the songs you've purchased. A dialog box will appear asking you to enter your Apple ID and password. Once you have done so, click Authorize to finish the process.

If your computer is not freezing when you are referring to a white circle, there may be an issue with the touch screen software installed on your computer. To correct this, I suggest re-installing all of the original software and hardware drivers that first came with your computer. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8), and then update the software by Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8). If the white cursor will not stop blinking after performing the steps in the documents above, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point to before the issue occurred. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
Should the problem continue, I suggest performing a backup and recovery of your operating system. This can be done by following the steps in this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8). I just took my new MacBook Pro out of the box and the screen will not work. Display is, black no life to the screen at all

So I just ordered my first Mac book Pro. I took it out of the box and hit the power button to do the start up and the screen will not work at all. I shut the computer off and back on again. I plugged it in and unplugged it. I've done everything I can think of and the screen still stays blank with no life at all

Is the battery charged? Press the little button on the left edge, near the front. If no green dots, no charge.
Does it charge? When you connect the MagSafe charger, does the pilot light on the plug light up?
Does it actually start? Should sound a chime after you press the power button on the top/right corner. If it chimes, does the Caps Lock pilot light when you press it?
If it starts and Caps Lock does flash on and off, have you tried pressing the screen brightness control for awhile? F2 turns up the brightness, may be turned fully down.

Start up screen will not stop.
