Start-up won't let me use my account name

I just got a brand new MacBook Pro and as I was setting it up, I entered all my info and I was on the page to enter my user acount information (name and password). As it was being processed, I quickly clicked the back button because I mispelt my name. I fixed the error and now as I try to continue, it wont let me progress and says "The name you have entered can't be used. This name is not available. Enter a different name."
Is there a way to completly start over again?

Using an Administrator account, go to System Preferences --> Users & Groups. Delete any extraneous accounts by highlighting them on the Password tab and clicking the minus sign in the lower left (first unlocking the padlock in the lower left if needed). Then add the new account by clicking the plus sign in the lower left.

Migration Assistant creates a new account and migrates all the information you have requested to that new account. There is no way around that. However once migrated you can move the data to the account you want to. Here are some instructions for doing so:

My old iPad icloud account has an old account name that I no longer subscribe to and will not let me access it. I need to in order to transfer my info to my new iPad. It won't let me change the account name to access the icloud.

You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud. Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Mozilla won't let me use the back button. How do I enable it?

I recently downloaded Mozilla. I like it but the only thing that I cannot do is use the back button. It won't let me use it. The color that highlights the back button is dimmed. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Do you get a drop-down list if you keep the left mouse button pressed on the Back button?

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.

Sounds like you installed iWork from before there was the Mac App Store.
If you installed it from a Family DVD you are entitled to install that on 5 computers and can do that from the DVD.
If not then you need to purchase it from the M.A.S. and will be able to install it on any of your computers using the same Apple I.D. However Apple is promising a new version before Christmas so it may not be a good time to buy now.

Windows Movie Maker does not import MOV files as you surmised. Third party software is necessary to convert it for importation to WMM.
One such software(free) that works is: 'RAD Video Tools' from 'Bink and Smacker':

The RAD Video Tools software will allow you to convert MOV files to AVI files, which will import into WMM

It may look intimidating at first but all you really need to do is:
1) Browse to your MOV file, select it, then click 'convert a file' at bottom menu.
2) Then in the new window that pops up, make sure the output file type is .AVI(the default output file type should be AVI), then click on 'convert' at right menu.
3) Import the newly created AVI file into WMM
