Start volume full? but cant find source!

Hi all!
My macbook pro is telling me that my start volume is full. when i looked around to find what is taking up so much space i found that my main user is using 468.55 GB. but when i checked through the seperate folders i couldnt find what would be tkaing up so much space..the most i found was my library taking up roughly 60 GB and my music that takes up roughly 40 GB. What can i do to find out what is going on?

Try OmniDiskSweeper. It will show you the files and folders taking up the most space.

Hard drive half full but cant find files to delete

In as much as the previous owner did not erase and reinstall the OS when he sold you the MBP the best thing to do is to start over. Do an Erase & Install of the OS. Then you can set up the MBP with your own information and password.

I backup to an external hdd with Time Machine, when it ran out of space it did not delete old backups, now my internal hdd says its full when before it had heaps of space. I have searched for extra files but cant find any. Can anyone help, please.

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight as described here. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can also use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

I'm having sync issues too since I've updated to 11.0.4. My ipod 160 will no longer sync properly or will hang when attempting to sync yet my 4th gen touch doesn't have any problems. I am thinking about uninstalling it and rolling back to an older version of itunes.

Trying to Source 0COUNTRY_TEXT text but cant find it in ECC RSA5

Trying to Source 0COUNTRY_TEXT text but cant find it in ECC RSA5 or when i transfer the application hierachy (RSA9).
It does not appear under SAP-R3-IO or under 0CA-IO (Which is empty).
Any ideas on how to find this datasource in R3?

Hi,
You should be able to find it in "Cross Application Components" in RSA5 in R/3. Also check the ROOSOURCE table in R/3 for the datasource.
Also check in CA_GD-IO.

it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

If you create an Apple ID for your daughter, signing out of the existing Apple ID with the iTunes & App Store on her iPhone will not change anything on your iPhone.
All apps include DRM protection which is tied to the Apple ID that was used to download the apps.
If she starts using her Apple ID to download apps, when there is an app update for an app on her iPhone that was downloaded with the current shared Apple ID, she will need to use that Apple ID and password to download the app updates.

The instructions provided with the tv box were typically difficult to follow perhaps because Apple try to cover all languages etc. I also found the control on my iPad that pulls from the bottom of the screen and allows the iPad to control the tv. It sounds like you need to recover some missing files but do not have access to the iWork '09 disc you used to install it. If you have a Time Machine backup and know what files you need, you can use the "Restoring specific files or folders" section of the following article to restore them:

If you do not have Time Machine, you will need the disc to reinstall the software suite.

You're in for a fascinating journey that will soon have you understanding things you never dreamt you'd need to know, then when you think you've got to grips with 'em, you'll discover you don't really know the first thing about them...!

I will suggest (and probably be corrected) that what you're seeing is probably interlaced footage on your progressive monitor. (You mentioned you're watching the DVD on your computer.) Your TV has far fewer lines of resolution than your computer monitor, so FCP works within those constrictions. Also your TV runs at 29.97 frames a second, which is actually 60 frames a second as each frame is divided into two fields, which comb together to for one frame. These combs are very much evident when watching a DVD on a computer. Even high budget Hollywood films have this problem, especially when the camera or subject is moving. There is no way around this if you're outputting on DVD or NTSC.
You could create an Progressive file, which won't do this on your monitor, but thats a whole other ball of wax...
