Start Wars missing iTunes Extras

Purchased the Star Wars digital collection on release day, but I can't find the iTunes Extras. Can't find them on Apple TV, iPad or Macbook. Am I missing something? Did I buy the wrong item?

Hello dormsby,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Movies which contain iTunes Extras have a blue iTunes Extras badge on their product page.  If the item you purchased does contain that badge, then please look at the information in the article below.

Take care,

I can not upgrade from 10.2 to 10.6 because of missing "itunes.msi" file.  I can not delete ITunes and start over either.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

By the way, I just purchased this movie last night.  I somehow deleted Cars while the other parts of the bundle were still downloading.  I tried looking into iClod but I was unable to find a link to download the movie again.

  • HT203175 How does one fix the  problemd.... "application itunes helper.exe - mobile me service failed to start becasue missing  MSVCR80.dll" ?  This started after the last "update" of itunes

With a recent update of itunes, ( a couple weeks ago), when plugging in my iphone, itunes did not automatically launch...and when manually selecting itune to open I recieve the statement ...
"application itunes helper.exe - mobile me service failed to start becasue missing  MSVCR80.dll" ?
I have gone to the itunes site and reloaded itunes....and did not fix the problem. ....help

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Grrrrr!  Some iTunes Extras Artwork Missing....AGAIN!

I had to tackle this issue a couple of weeks back but it's reared its ugly head again.
Last time, all iTunes Extras movies artwork vanished.  I ended up having to delete the movies and redownload the films from the 'purchased' section of iTunes.  Hey-presto!  Artwork back!
My problem now is that only some of the artwork for iTunes Extras has gone.  I have tried redownloading films as before but the artwork is still not there.  If you do the usual 'Get info' on the film and look at the artwork section it is blank.  Adding an image to this seems to work until you 'ok' it. Then it doesn't show and is blank again when you go back in.
    Any clues?

Anybody got the same problem like me ?
Yes, Vaio owners world-wide have been battling this problem for about 2 years. It's some bad Sony software that deliberately attacks itunes. Apparently 4 months ago, you launched the Sony media center that came pre-installed on your machine.
Upgrade the Vaio Media software, as mentioned here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2715
And here is the thread from 2 years ago where it was discover the Sony bloatware was causing it:

  • Duplicate itunes extras

for some reason I have 10s of thousands of copies of Thor's iTunes extras, both on my mini snow leopard server, and on my appleTV ( which is really not happy). after deleting all the extra copies in the server file system, reformatting my apple TV, and building a new itunes db and library, I'm seeing the same issue again. What did I miss ?
    d.

    Kinda unrelated...
Didn't work for me either. All 3 codes just downloaded the 3rd movie.
So I took the set back and got a new one.
    Same deal.
I contacted both Universal and iTunes Support.
Both gave me a new set of codes (actually iTunes did not give me actual codes - but they added the download to my account and it automatically started downloading when I opened iTunes).
So - with the new codes - I could get all 3 movies into iTunes.
    HOWEVER.
None of them will sync to my iPhone or iPad. Bizarre - it says the movie(s) are not authorized to play on this computer. Well - actually on the computer they play just fine - they just can't be synced to a device.
Needless to say I've emailed both iTunes and Universal back tonight.
    REAL frustrating.
Think I'm just going to return them and stick to my old plain old DVD set. At least I can RIP those dvds just fine into iTunes.
    Anyone else having issues?
I did have several copies of everything.
I just started deleting them all.

Has anyone found a quick, permanent solution to the missing iTunes.msi File? I have tried many times to upgrade both itune and quicktime and get the same old error notice. Surely, by now, someone has found out how to get around this mess. Please....

  • ITunes Extras file locked on External iTunes Server  - Help Appreciated

    Hi all,
    Here's the set up.
I've just put our entire iTunes library (it's all housed within one iTunes account) on a new LaCie Wireless Space NAS unit. So basically everyone in the household (me, wife and two kids) can access the same music library etc.
I've pointed everyones ITunes preferences to the external library on the NAS and they can all individually access and play tracks OK.
The problem seems to arise when, for example my son fires up iTunes on his MAC starts to play some tracks, but then my daughter wants to do the same, she cant get on to the music library on the NAS as we get an error message that says- "The iTunes Extras is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file"
I've tried trashing various .plist files, checking access privileges, but cannot seem to solve the issue.
She can access the library OK when it seems no one else is doing the same, it seems to be an issue when multiple users try to access the same iTunes library on the NAS.
Any help, suggestions or work-arounds would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Is iTunes running on MB A when you open iTunes on MB B? If so, that is probably the reason iTunes is saying the file is locked. Only one iTunes can read/write to the DB files at a time.

  • Downloading iTunes Extra "Error -19" Message

    Hey Everyone
I've recently run into a strange problem.
While downloading the iTunes Extra for two movies (TED Unrated + Batman Begins), I'm getting the error -19 message.
The extras download fully, I can see in the Status window that iTunes starts processing, then I get "stopped (err = -19)."
There was a problem downloading “Batman Begins - iTunes Extras / Batman Begins / Christopher Nolan”. An error occurred while reading from the device.
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.
    I'm running iTunes 11, with MacOS 10.6.8.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    All the best!

I went through the forums and I found several other threads with exactly the same problem:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20998828#20998828
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20622344#20622344
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20842273#20842273
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/21000350#21000350
I contacted Apple support and the representative added the album back to my available downloads in iTunes, but the problem still persists. All songs download fine except for the iTunes LP.
I wonder if anyone using the US iTunes store is having this problem... I'm starting to guess this is related to the LP not being available in some of the other stores, which is strange as the album with the LP was available for sale...

  • ITunes Extras for The Help not playing

I bought The Help in HD with iTunes Extras. I can't seem to play any of the videos such as the deleted scenes. I contacted Apple Support and they sent me another file to download again. The same problem still occurs though. Apple said that they'll look into it.
I broswed my computer hard drive and found the missing files for the bonus videos. They're all located in C:\Users\Owner\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\The Help - iTunes Extras _ Tate Tayl.tmp\The Help - iTunes Ex 1.tmp. There's a total of 8 videos loacted in 8 different folders titled Tate Tal.tmp\The Help - iTunes Ex 1-8.tmp, but the files names are all titled download. They can't be opened in iTunes Extras because they don't have the correct file name.

I've seen a few of these threads now. I think the current build of iTunes must be failling to unpack the video files properly. I've had another hunt around the Extras folder structure and it seems the files are detailed in ...\controllers\data.js. This is the relevant section from the Batman Begins Extras:
      audioLoop : { src : "audio/batmanbegins_loop.m4a", loop : true},
    extras  : [
{ thumb : "image_videoBox_mind.png",    structure: "shaping",  string : "Shaping Mind & Body",         src : "batmanbegins_shapingmindbody.m4v",  time: "12:49",      blurb : "Examining the construction of the fight sequences. "},
{ thumb : "image_videoBox_tumbler.png", structure: "tumbler",  string : "Batman: The Tumbler",         src : "batmanbegins_batmantumbler.m4v",  time: "13:40",   blurb : "Goyer describes it as a cross between a Lamborghini and a Humvee. This featurette details it from conception to its current form."},
                  { thumb : "image_videoBox_journey.png", structure: "journey",  string : "Batman: The Journey Begins",  src : "batmanbegins_journeybegins.m4v",  time: "14:16",   blurb : "Interviews with Christopher Nolan, David Goyer, Christian Bale, production designer Nathan Crowley, as well as others. "}
Using this it might be possible to work out what the temp files should be called. They need to go into a videos folder.

  • My files are a mess - how can I start over in iTunes?

Over the years, my music files have become scattered all over between different locations on my internal drive and various externals. I have tons of duplicates, lost files, and it's just a general mess.
I would like to do a search for all my music files, and completely start over with iTunes and keep them on my MacBook Pro. I have room on my internal (or would, if they were oranized properly and I got rid of duplicates!) but a lot of the files that show up on iTunes are on an external so of course it will ask me where they are. This is driving me crazy and I want to just scrap everything and start over fresh.
I have a 1TB external that I can dump them all on while I change over.
Any suggestions on the best way to do this would be welcome, as well as whether there are programs available that would help with this (or is it just as doab;e without a separate application).
    TIA, Alicia Morgan

basically, the question is: does iTunes know where all these files are ? or does iTunes show a "!" next to any files ?
I have tons of duplicates ...

once you have gotten rid of dupes and located the lost files, you could consolidate your library:
    (a) go iTunes > preferences > advanced and make sure
o iTunes media folder location is pointing to the iTunes music folder on your startup disk
o +keep iTunes media folder organized+ is checked
o +copy files to ... when adding to library+ is checked
    (b) have any external HD holding any of your media files is mounted on your desktop
    (c) go file > library > organize library > consolidate files
if the option to +upgrade to iTunes media organization+ is available, select that too.

I have closed iTunes and reopened. Restarted my computer in between the purchase and the first error message to. Anyone else having this issue? Never had issue with previous iTunes movie purchases.
    Thanks

I'm having the same problem.  Started last week (week of November 3rd).   I posted an issue with Apple, but they came back with a BS response and I decided I did not have the patience to work with folks who clearly failed to read my writeup on the issue.   Trolling for someone who had the patience and worked with them to figure out the solution.

  • ITunes Extras could not be used...

I recently had to replace mthe HDD where I store my iTunes files. All of my movies appear to have been restored from backup but each of my extras displays the following when I try to open (iTunes Extras only) I get the following message:
The movie "xxx-iTunes Extras" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you loke to locate it?
There appears to be a separate *.ite folder for every movie but I cannot locate either an .exe file or some file that woud trigger the extra content although all of the data files appear to be there and intact.
These are all digital copies which cannot be reloaded. and it seems that i AM MISSING SOMETHING OBVIOUS.
I am using a desktop PC with Win7 (32 bit).

iTunes won't "search" for the folder but if you either
use the iTunes File menu > Add Folder to Library option when adding the music
    or
drag the folder into the Library listing of the iTunes Source List (left-hand column)
your problem should be taken care of.
If you don't want to keep that folder as the location for the music files, make sure that Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library has been checked in the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > Advanced tab > General sub-tab.

Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
    (2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility.
