Starting a new project - JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 or 11.1.1.6.0 ?

Hi,
I am a little bit unclear as to which of the latest JDeveloper releases (i.e. 11.1.2.1.0 and 11.1.1.6.0) to use when embarking on a new project. I understand that the SOA development extensions are not part of the 11.1.2.1.0 release, but then there are features in each of these releases that are mutually exclusive.
Is there a matrix table somewhere that compares what is available (and what is not) for each of these releases?
What is the "official" recommendation as to which one to use and is this decision based solely on whether you will be using SOA?
Can someone explain the reason(s) behind the need for two separate JDeveloper branches (11.1.2.* and 11.1.1.*) ?
And finally, I understand that these two releases will eventually be merged into a single release 12c. Is this correct?

till now i did not find one :(
At the time the other thread was started, the answer would be easy summarize as use 11.1.1.x.0 if you want to use SOA, WebCenter, or BPM, use 11.1.2.x.0 if not (my interpretation)
Now with 11.1.1.6.0 available it's not as easy as some new features are available in this version which are missing in 11.1.2.1.0 right now. Somewhere I read (can't remember exactly where) that some of the new features in 11.1.1.6.0 are back ported to the upcoming 11.1.2.2.0 release. Hm, this makes me think, which are back ported and which will be missing. As long as I don't now this I really can't give an advice in any direction. This it at least true if you don't have some constraints (e.g. I need to use JSF 2.0, or I need SOA) which make the decision easy.

I don't like the solutions I saw there and I am not sure they will work.

Nobody replied so I called Apple. They seemed to think they could fix the problem but I had to agree to pay about $20 first. I told them to put it down as a complaint. I only want to use the software I bought. I can't see that it is my fault it is malfunctioning. I guess I will have to pay. It doesn't seem right.

I am using Premiere 2.0, its part of the Creative Suite Production Studio Premium. Premiere will launch ok, but when I try to start a new project, i.e try to create a save location, it locks up. On one occasion I used the default save location and it opened fine, but when I tried to do anything such as import, save, etc...again it freezes. So basically I am not able to do anything at all without it freezing. Everything else in the CS Production studio works just fine, Premiere is the only problem...so I am baffled! Oh yeah, I uninstalled and reinstalled twice, and still the same problem. PLEASE HELP!

Adobe Premiere Elements Won't Start A New Project?

When I open up Premiere Elements and try to start a new project, all it shows is a black and purple line, then it just stops. I have already tried updating QuickTime, Windows 7, Nvidia Drivers, and Uninstalling and then Reinstalling Premiere elements. I am running it on a PC that has an AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six Core Proccessor, 8 GB of RAM, a Nvidia G-Force GTX 650, and i installed the program on a secondary hard drive with 761 GB of free space.

What is this "secondary hard drive" on which you originally installed Premiere Elements 12? Internal or external and how formatted NTSC or FAT32?
I do not see where anyone has asked about "Scratch Disks" as they relate to your issues?
Please refer to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks...
a. Where are the scratch disks directed and how much free hard drive space is at that location?
b. Do you have all the scratch disks categories directed to the same place? If not, do so and make sure there is lots of free hard drive space where you are pointing them to.
Please look for pile ups of preview files in the Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files Folder and pile ups of conformed audio in the Media Cache Folder. Both these folders by default are in Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/12.0.
Please go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and hit the Clean button in the Media Cache Database in that area.

Yes you can install Premiere Elements on any other drive. For that you need to follow these steps:
1. Uninstall current copy of Premiere Elements.
2. Start the installer of Premiere ELements.
3. Choose a location on d:\ drive after choosing the default TV format.
Please keep in mind, even if you select d: drive as the install location some amount of data will get copied to C: drive.

"cannot allocate memory" When trying to start a new project in FCPX

So I am I getting the "cannot allocate memory" error whenever I try to start a new project in FCPX
System specs:

"Movies" folder is on a drive with about 120 GB free. The folder is not locked. Imovie uses the same folder, and that works.
The account is not a server account.
I've removed all preferences and all references to FCPX, reinstalled, no difference.
I have tried every suggestion on every apple support discussion thread, save reinstalling the OS, which I will not do. Nothing works.
FCPX won't let me select a default location for projects, either.
This is the only application on my system that doesn't work. Anyone have any suggestions?

I figured it out:
FCPX does not support NTFS drives, even with Paragon NTFS working perfectly for everything else on the system.
I guess Apple (just) assumes that nobody will, or should, be using any other filesystem than Mac with FCPX.
I wasted hours looking for a solution, when a better error message besides a misleading "cannot allocate memory" could have been something more useful.
Not impressed.

I recently installed PSE8 and was able to start a new project wothout any problems. Today I attempted to start a new project from the welcome screen and got nothing. It acted like it was thinking for a bit but then resorted back to the original welcome screen. Am I missing something here?

You have launched the render-only app. Check to launch the correct full app.

Cannot Start a new project with a mapped network drive

When I try to start a new project with Encore and save the file to our network cluster (An Isilon Server), I get a file not found error message. When I try to do this to a local drive, it works just fine. None of the other Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) have this problem with this network drive.

Yes, it worked on the local drive, and also to a Windows Networked Server that was not the Isilon. Even after creating the project and moving it to the Isilon, it was generating error messages after a few minutes of use. The Isilon is using a BSD variant of Linux and Samba. The really strange part is the all other Adobe products from the Production Suite work with this server without any problems at all.

Error when starting a new project in Premier Elements 11

When I open Premier Elements 11 and select Video Editor - New Project, I keep getting an error that says, [..\..Src\Core\Preferences\cpp-338]. When I click on the Continue button, I get a Runtime Error and the application closes. It doesn't stop running, though. I have to stop it in the Task Manager Processes screen.
I have Windows XP SP3, and I have installed all the latest Windows updates, I have updated my Java version, I have defragmented my hard drive, I have run a disk clean up application, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times over with the DVD, and I have Quicktime installed with its latest updates.
I worked with an Adobe support tech yesterday who worked with my system a little, but he left me hanging and didn't call me back today.
I paid money for this application and desperately need it for my job. I hope someone can help me.

For Networked home folders (aka Personal folder), here's a work around script that you are free to use. (Based on AJohnF's suggestion.)
The Script verifies if the current domain user has an 'J' drive if not, it starts APE, if there is a home folder assigned to the domain user...
It temporarily changes the User Shell Personal folder registry.
Starts Adobe Premiere Elements and waits for it to close.
Once APE is closed it will change the registry back.
You can remove the ' in front of the msgbox lines to get prompts along the way for testing.
Create a new desktop shortcut that will point to the "Start Premiere 11.vbs" (or whatever you called it)
We deployed it via SCCM and replaced the existing desktop shortcut for APE with new shortcut. Deployment of script and desktop shortcut could be done via computer startup, preferences, SCCM it up to you.
Change the "J:\" and "J:\My Videos" to match your environment.

Started PE12 but when i click Video Editor and then select New Project the button shows the purple and black lines for about a minute and then stops and nothing happens

It is late where I am so I will give you some things to work on.
Premiere Elements does not fare well with 2 video cards/graphics cards. Have you disabled the Intel and observed the consequences?
Determine if the problem is there with and without the antivirus disabled.

in the Premiere Elements Folder will be one file and some folders. You do not want the folders or what is in them. You want that file which is the BadDrivers.txt file. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path shown. Be aware that after you open the program again after the file deletion, the program will generate a new BadDrivers.txt file but by that time the problem should be gone (hopefully).
I would probably be going after the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file -

and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.

How to start a new project in SDK

Hi, I'm totally new in SDK and I need to make a project, plugin, on the Uni. Could somebody explain me please how to install the SDK? I downloaded the SDK, but there is now exe file, so I suppose I need to add these libraries to the new project in Visual Studio. I really have no idea how to do that, so let me beg you for your help. Can it be Visual Studio 2013, is newer than 2010 also ok? Pls help

Hi! As long as I know, you cannot install SDK. The best thing to do is to explore sample projects - and then modify them for your own purpose.

CC 2014 closes after opening/starting a new project.

So i called Adobe about this problem on Friday and after an hour and a half of trying stuff, it was all for not.
we ended up getting disconnected, and i didnt feel like calling them again.
once i open Premiere Pro CC2014 all seems good till i try to open a Project or start a new one,
it just immediately closes with out letting me do anything.
The Custmer Support guy tried:
- Reinstalling it.
- updating my graphics card.
- removing some files.
- making a new user on my computer.
all of which didnt work...i really hope that i can get it up and running soon ><
