Starting a podcast/ video show.

I have a 2012 imac 16gb ram, fusion drive souped up processor, a 2013 macbook air, heil pr40 microphone, i think i have everything i need to start it. But is there a way to video stream without using the isight camera and use a canon and what software should i do?

Have you checked the video section on the iPod? Videos must be played from the video section otherwise all you get is sound.

Video podcasts not showing up on iPod

Since the recent update of my iPod, my video podcasts are not syncing to my iPod. When I sync with iTunes, I have all the podcasts (both audio and video) selected to sync but only the audio podcasts are available to me via my iPod. What's going on here?

OK, so there they are in a new place. Would have been courteous for Apple to give some clue that they were moving things around. Especially because the video podcasts still show up in iTunes in the same place as the audio podcasts, same as before. Thanks for tip, lllaass.

Podcasts not showing up as podcasts

My podcasts do not show up under Podcasts on my Ipod. They only show up for a brief time under Playlists/Recently Added. They also do not show up if I use the search function on my Ipod. How do I get podcasts to show up as podcasts? Also, I have already marked all as new.

I don't know if this will help, but I was experiencing the same problem. Searching the discussions didn't help other than to confirm that I was not alone. So, I started poking around.
Background
5th gen video iPod. on a Macbook Pro. iTunes 7.3.2. iPod 1.2.1
I had been manually copying podcasts to iPod. Noticed this weekend new podcasts weren't showing up under podcasts, some did show up under music, and videos weren't showing up at all.
My Solution:
selected iPod device. Selected Podcasts. Selected sync. (wasn't syncing before). choose a couple podcasts to sync. Clicked apply. podcasts synced. wiped out all my existing podcasts but the new ones showed up. Still no videos though. Chose Movies. chose sync. Got message something like "The iPod "<my iPod>" is synced with another iTunes Library. Do you want to erase this iPod and sync with this iTunes library." I chose no (cancel), because I didn't want to wipe everything out without thinking about it.
Now Podcasts and videos show up on the iPod.

Problem playing Podcast video

My video podcasts are not playing properly. I get about 3 seconds of audio and that is about it no video. I f I hit the rewind button it just go's back to the end. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck.

I just started having this problem on Friday afternoon, with no changes to my system information. Most of the video podcasts just show their album cover (if available) while playing the audio without video.
I also have a similar problem that could be unrelated, but might give some insight into the cause of this problem.
Before this I've noticed that as podcasts finalized download in the queue the video and audio in the pocast I was listening to or watching would stop, for as much as 10 seconds, while iTunes processed the podcast and brought it into the Podcast window. Once it was there and nothing was being downloaded everything was fine.

Possible to move iTunes 'Music'... but not 'Podcasts, TV Shows, or Movies'

I currently have an enormous iTunes library. I have about 1 TB of movies which is currently stored on its own hard drive separate from any of my other iTunes media (I'll refer to this drive as "Drive X" from here on out).
Aside from these movies, the rest of my iTunes media (which includes Podcasts, TV Shows, and Music) is currently being stored on a different external hard drive (henceforth referred to as "Drive Y"). "Drive Y" is is also the location of my my iTunes Music Folder (as specified in the iTunes application preferences)
I have about 20 GB worth of music, which is not really that much, and I would like to move this music back into my 'User>Home>Music' folder on my primary internal drive...My reasoning? - I've started using an online backup/synchronization service called SugarSync, which I was hoping to use to do two main things:
1) Create an online backup of my music, and...
2) To allow me to stream this online backed-up music to my iPhone wirelessly, which is one of the services that they offer...

One of the unfortunate downsides of SugarSync is that it's only capable of syncing files that reside inside of the User>Home directory... thus, my rational for wanting to move just my 'Music' to my User>Home>Music directory, and not my Podcasts, TV Shows, or Movies.
My goal here would be to do so while somehow leaving my TV Shows and Podcasts (which have an accumulated size of about 200GB) on "Drive Y" and leaving my Movies on "Drive X".
Is such a thing possible (without losing all of iTunes' track specific metadata, such as playcount, etc, etc...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Update:
Still having issues getting new videos to show in the "Movies" or "TV Shows" categories of iTunes. However, last night I discovered that Home Sharing on my iPad lists the newly imported videos in the Movies category (iPad & Video app). So, the files aren't corrupt or anything like that. It just seems like I need to 'refresh' the Movies page. Is that possible?
Since I can see the files on the iPad now, I want to remove the extra copies of movies I imported. But, since I can only find them in Playlists, how can I delete them?

How can I reduce a large podcast video without losing quality?

I am in the process of putting online a podcast video, that I have exported for ipod with quicktime. However, the file is rather large (100MB) and it is complicate for me to break it into smaller files. As I start iWeb it warns me that the file is large and it would require long download times. I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the size of podcast/ipod files without compromising quality too much.

External Video: Show Current Frame

This isn't hugely important but since starting with FCP I have wanted to be able to show external video whenever I'm parked on a frame - i.e. not moving video. I often want "All Frames" off because it can choke on the full resolution/framerate I'm trying to assess.
For the longest time I thought External Video / Show Current Frame was supposed to do this but just wasn't working. It eventually occurred to me that you have to shift-f12 every time you want the output updated.
Is there a way to tell FCP to "show current frame" whenever I pause playback or step through frames?

Another strategy is to turn off 'mirror on desktop'. That reduces the processor overhead significantly which is very useful on low power machines yet you get all your images sent to the external monitor.
The check box can be found in: Menu Bar>Final Cut Pro>Audio/Video Settings> A/V Devices>
Scrubbing in the Canvas works and the current frame will show up in Canvas when you stop messing around. Canvas is only bypassed when you play the timeline.

Can't see podcast videos...

I just downloaded one of my favorite podcast videos that I'm subscribed to and I tried to open it to watch it within iTunes like I always have done before with other versions of iTunes but it won't play the video. I can hear it but can't see it.
I heard that you have to have Quicktime 7 to view video for the new iTunes but in order to have Quicktime 7 you have to have OS X 10.3 or higher which I don't have, so, unless I upgrade I'm screwed regarding my podcast videos? Also, if I bought a new video iPod would I not be able to view the video on there because I don't have the correct upgraded operating system?

These files can be found in your iPod's iPod_Control folder which is hidden by default. So turn on the option to show hidden files and folders, and from there you should be able to access this content on your iPod.

Imovie slide & video shows

Hi - Im a little confused and frustrated. I prepared a photo slideshow in imovie and I also have selected video clips in imovie which I want to intersperse with this slideshow so it becomes a combined slide & video show. So I may start with three or four slides, switch to a video clip then back to slides for a while then insert a further clip and so on. Is this possible and how do I do it? Ive trawled through a bunch of google how to's and apple community answers but there doesnt seem to be any easy answer except go back to iphoto and import from there which becomes tedious having done it all before. I would also like to keep the inserted maps that I made for the slide show. Any help is greatly appreciated

Podcasts not showing

All my vidio podcasts dont show, under the podcast folder in the vidio section.

Are they set to transfer?
Connect the iPod and go to edit-->preferences in iTunes. Hit the iPod tab, then the podcasts tab under that. Make sure automatically update all podcasts is selected. Now go to the videos tab and make sure automatically transfer all videos is set.
Click ok.
See if it works now.
Also, do they show up under music-->podcasts?

hi my itune U videos and podcast can no longer be viewed by "video" app after iOS 6 upgrade. they are there when i search for them. but just won't start. there is a new podcast app but i can't see my old podcast video from its library.
does anyone know how to access them?
