Starting and Stopping Batch Processing

Is it possible to stop a batch in process so that it may be re-started later?

Yes it is
To pause a job, batch, or target, click the corresponding Pause toggle button. The Pause toggle button becomes the Resume toggle button.
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/Compressor3_Batch_Monitor_UserManual.pdf
Click the Batch Monitor-button in the Compressor batch window, to open it. You can also make Compressor automatically open Batch Monitor every time you submit a job. Look in Compressor > Preferences.

  • Suspect in define time start and stop process

    Hi experts,
    If you want to set the time to start process at one time and time I stop process at one time.
    How?
    Thanks,
    T N

    Hi
    For your extract process you can use the parameter BEGIN of the command ADD EXTRACT to set from what date on you want to start
    capturing information.
    ADD EXTRACT <group name>
    {, BEGIN {NOW | yyyy-mm-dd [:hh:mi:[ss[.cccccc]]]} |
       , EXTSEQNO <seqno>, EXTRBA <relative byte address> |
       , LOGNUM <log number>, LOGPOS <byte offset> |
       , EOF |
       , LSN <value> |
       , EXTRBA <relative byte address> |
       , EOF | LSN <value> |
       , PAGE <data page>, ROW <row> |
       }You should review the reference guide for more info.
    But still you have to start and stop the process manually, but an option could be to use a cron to run
    an script that starts or stops the GoldenGate processes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Starting and Stopping FMLE from command line yields corrupt .flv files

    I am using FMLE to record and live stream TV content. In order to this I am remotely calling FMLEcmd in order to start and stop encoding processes. The problem that I am running in to is that the .flv files generated are corrupt. The odd thing is that if I use the exact same profile XML from the GUI, then the encoding process works just fine and results appear as intended.
    Here is the way my workflow works:
    I start the process by calling
    FMLEcmd /p C:\lighttpd\htdocs\xml\default.xml /l C:\lighttpd\htdocs\logs\log.txt
    then at the conclusion of the recording I call
    FMLEcmd /s "C:\lighttpd\htdocs\files\default.flv"
    When I attempt to open the files using FFmpeg I get a codec error saying that no codecs were detected. When I attempt to open the files in VLC I get a error saying that the media types are "Undf". When I attempt to open or modify the files with flvtool2 I get an end-of-file error. My guess is that my stop command is incorrect and somehow abruptly stopping the stream, but I don't know another way to stop the stream. Do I need to specify a specific stream duration in the XML and make sure to call the stop command *after* the duration has been reached? What would cause this codec corruption when the same profile works properly from the GUI?
    Here is the profile I am attempting to use.

    If issue of corrupt file after cmd line not in GUI mode. Are you using some automation to copy/paste output flv to someother location?
    AFAIK, after placing stop command, FMLE took some time to write proper EOF in FLV. wait ~10 sec for FMLE to complete file writing process and than play in FLV PLayer.
    I tried manually with steps you mentioned and it's working fine for me.I playerd file in Applian Flash PLayer. "http://www.applian.com/flvplayer/"

  • Batch file to start and stop services

    I've setup a CF Probe on my Development Server to ensure my
    CF Production server is up and running (services = Apache and CF
    Application Server). It checks the PROD login page and if it times
    out in 30 sec the probe fails. I understand I can execute a file
    (batch file with net start and net stop) but the problem is I need
    to have the probe somehow point to the .bat file on the PROD server
    and not on the local machine. How can I remotely access this batch
    file and execute it? I don't know how to point to the file on the
    other server... can anyone help?

    Hi Ken,
    You had pointed me in the right direction regarding the
    psstools in order to create a batch file that can remotely start
    and stop services.
    i used the psexec command and am able to successfully restart
    the services needed remotely... however when i pick the file in the
    coldfusion administrator (in the probes section) how to i point to
    the batch file to run? it seems like the probe is not running the
    script like i want... the file is located on the c:\ so i entered
    c:\test2.bat...
    Thanks,
    Matt
    Matt,
    You should review the online help in the cfadmin for probes
    and the links it points you to in the developer's guide. Basically
    you need to define a new probe in the cfadmin by clicking the
    "Define New Probe" button. One of the probe's attributes will be
    what action. Define the action as a program and point it at a batch
    file running psexec. You will probably need to run CFMX as a
    specific user and not as localsystem, which is the default.

  • How to Start and Stop Processes?

    How to Start and Stop Processes?
    Im trying to create a program which allows me to Start and Stop (and Restart) GameServers. I will then expand on this so i can start and stop them through a web applet with build in useraccounts.
    Currently the way we do this is to log into the server using a RemoteAssistance. Which is not very safe as the users have the abbility to do anything on the server and potentially corrupt it.
    Below is my code for how i start the servers. But i dont know how i would stop the process.
                    private void startServers()
                   for(GameServer gs : servers)
                        int ID = Integer.parseInt(gs.getID());
                        if(isChecked(ID))
                             try
                                  String cmd[] = gs.getStartString();
                                  Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
                                  int sleepPeriod = Integer.parseInt(sleepField.getText());
                                  Thread.sleep(sleepPeriod*100);
                             catch(Exception e)
                             System.out.println(e);
                   }//end of iterator
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"All Selected Servers Have been started.","Servers Started",2);
         }//end of startserversAnyhelp would be great thanks.

    Using the process class would give you a nicer API, but using destroy isn't a nice way to shutdown a process. Its like killing the process with your task manager. You should make a connection in some way with the game server and tell it to shutdown in stead (gracefull termination).

  • Batch file to start and stop

    Hi,
    The simplest script would be something like this. Save it as a .bat file, set all your services to manual and then set up a scheduled task to run this script when the computer starts.

  • Starting and Stopping Repository Mgr Service

    Hello All,
    I am running Forte 3.0.D.0 on Windows NT 4.0. At night, I run batch files to backup and clean the repository.
    With previous versions of Forte (before 2.H) my scripts simply did an rpstop, rpcopy, rpclean and finally a rpstart to start the repository again. This worked great.
    Now, however, I am running the Repository Manager as an NT service, so I can no longer run rpstop or rpstart (rpstart does not start the Repository Manager service).
    One solution I have found is to use Net Stop and Net Start to stop and start the Repository Manager service, so my script looks something like this:
    rpcopy...
    net stop "Forte Repository Manager 3.0.D.0"
    rpclean...
    net start "Forte Repository Manager 3.0.D.0"
    This seems to work fine most of the time, but occasionally the service won't stop or start (like when a workspace is open). My questions are:
    1) Are there any other command line processes that people know of to start and stop a service?
    2) What is Forte's recommended process for starting and stopping the Repository Manager service in a script?
    Thanks for your help

  • Start and stop a loop automatically subtracting at each iteration

    Hi there,
    I know that there are some topics about it, but I could not find any solution, especially because I use the version 7.1 and cannot open new version files.
    My problem is as follows:
    I need to charge a tank from 6 to 10 in the morning, every day during 3 days. The process must start and stop automatically, which means, no bottoms to start or stop. The start and stop conditions come from the hour.
    I start with a big loop of 72 iterations, which corresponds to 72 hours.
    The tank must start at level 6 every time it starts.
    After the start, 1 unit must be subtracted in each iteration. Which means, that at 6 am the tank has level 10, at 7 am level 9 and so on. In the end, at 10 am the tank level is equal to 2.
    In the next day, the process must start again and the tank must start at level 6.
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    While this may work it can be improved significantly. This really isn't a state machine. This is basically the same as your flat sequence with the exception of using a While loop with a Case statement to implement each frame.
    You should define what your actions are and create a typedefed ENUM naming them. State names of 1 through 24 are meaningless. Not to mention in your code many of the cases are duplicates of others. That would mean that all of those can be one state with logic to determine what action/state comes next. A properly defined state machine would not need the outside For loop. Without knowing your specific needs some examples of reason state names would be the following: Start, Stop, Exit, Error, Initialize, Get Tank Level, Fill Tank, Drain Tank, Idle, etc. Can you see how these are easier to understand than 1 through 24.
    There are lots of examples of state machines here. Try a search and take a look at some of them.

    How to configure PI scenario to stop different com channels when this message received ?

    check this link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/45/0c86aab4d14dece10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
    make sure that MQ send http request to PI. i dont think a configuration scenario is required in PI. Only roles should be enabled with proper user provided to MQ team.
    However, for security reasons, you can configure a scenario if you dont want to expose PI infrastructure directly to 3rd parties.

  • Start and Stop Apache

    Hi All,
    We are using Oracle Apps 11i, Can someone tell me how to start and stop Apache, I mean what are the commands.
    Thanks
    J

    Hi,
    I have no idea or visibilty about your system. In fact the script you mentioned must be running the apachectl start/stop command to start/stop apachectl.
    So your solution may be good for you (local scripts) but it is not a actual solution.
    In Oracle App, we use opmnctl startall/stopall to start/stop all processes including apatche.

    Have you referred this [SAP Note  81692 - Suspect database |https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/81692] ? Its lists possible causes for such situation. I would first determine the root cause of such issue, which can be identified in SQL Server Log.

  • Starting and stopping applications via a Java-application on Windows/Unix

    Hello,
    I want to start java and other applications via a java application.
    This java application should start several different applications on windows and
    on unix systems and take care of their current state (e.g. running/not running).
    For all applications to be started there are .sh-scripts for unix and .bat-scripts
    for windows. In the scripts there could be a java call, e.g. "java someApplication",
    or some executables could be called. These scripts set the applications' environment etc.
    and start the application finally.
    My java application calls these scripts via the ProcessBuilder API, which is working fine.
    But there is the following problem: on windows, when executing a script that starts
    some other application, the ProcessBuilder gives me process-handle to the started
    process. If calling destroy() on this handle, only the cmd.exe gets killed which
    started the application. The application itself is running on. This is undesired behaviour
    since I want to be able to control the started applications, at least start and stop it which
    is impossible that way.
    On unix, it is working when using
    "exec java someApplication"
    instead of just
    "java someApplication"
    in the .sh-scripts. The exec command substitutes the shell process with the underlying
    process started in the script, so everything is working as expected on unix.
    But how could I get this working on windows systems? Is there any equivalent to the exec
    command on unix? Any suggestions appreciated.
    If something's unclear in my description, please let me know.
