Starting ColdFusion server: error, no known vms (check for currupt jvm.cfg file)

just installed ColdFusion, from adode flex 3 training from the sourse. But when I check to see if it works correctly by entering jrun -start cfusion in the command prom I get the error, no known vms (check for currupt jvm.cfg file). I tried uninstalling Java and reinstalling but nothing changed.
I don't know what I need to do to get it working can anyone help?

When you say you can't open the jvm.config file, what exactly does this mean? Is the file zero-length? How have you tried to open it? It's a text file, and should be opened in Notepad.

You should use the NortonAV uninstaller to uninstall it. Disabling the dreadful thing in the past hasn't always been sufficient for it to cease creating system havoc. The Mac NortonAV version has a long and well-earned reputation for doing truly seriously nasty things to OS X. Shame on Comcast for inflicting NortonAV on its Mac customers. It's not a matter of if NortonAV will mess up OS X but when and how badly. I can't help but wondering if some setting in your Norton AV has decided that NortonAV, rather than you, will be making executive decisions about what you are allowed to install on your computer and is keeping that fact a secret.
After you are done uninstalling Norton use the finder to search for any Norton files that the uninstaller might have missed. Add the option to search for invisible files.
After you have removed all the Norton bits and pieces restart in safe mode by holding down the shift key right after the startup chime. Keep holding down the shift key until you see the Apple logo and spinning gear. Safe mode does some maintenance tasks which means a much longer than normal startup time. Use Disk Utility to repair permission
If your Mac works normally in safe mode restart. If things still aren't fixed you might want to give another shot at reinstalling Snow Leopard from the install DVD and applying the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo before taking your Mac to the Apple Store.
If you feel the need to run AV software on your Mac use ClamXav in manual mode. It's donationware and doesn't seem to cause the litany of weird problems that are associated with other AV software.

Workflow will not manually start - getting Server Error in '/' Application - Runtime Error

I've tested so far in three site collections and I am not able to manually start a workflow. I am getting the below error

Starting coldfusion server on fedora core6

I am having problems in starting the coldfusion mx server.
Coldfusion has been installed but problems in starting it. After
installation i got this message.
To continue with your installation, go to
/opt/coldfusionmx/bin and type
"./coldfusion start" to start your server.
I get the code below when trying to start the server when
logged in as root. Could some please help?

you did not say which cf version you are running....
for cfmx7/cf8 on win xp:
go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
in the list of services look for Coldfusion services (should
be 3-4
there). the main one is called Application Server. make sure
the status
next to the name shows "Started". if not, double-click on
that service
and in the window that opens select Automatic for Startup
Type, click
Start button and then OK.
NOTE: even with Automatic Startup selected i still have CF
not starting
with win xp sometimes on my dev computer and have to manually
start it.
If the status of the service in the Services panel shows
"Started", but
you can't view any .cfm pages, then try restarting the
service, and if
that does not help look into re-configuring the web server
connectors...

We are trying to start the service using the command prompt, at that time we are getting an error.
Mean while we try to start and stop the services using the "Start & Stop BI Services" from the windows start menu --> programs and then the Admin server was got started & we are able to access the BI url .
But my concern is the weblogic server should also need to be start from the command prompt.

Make sure MagnusPostInit.dll is present in the directory (<installdir>/bin/https/bin/MagnusPostInit.dll)
if not present means try to copy that dll in that specified location or to reinstall your directory server.

According to your description, the exception “System.IO.IOException: The file exists.” is thrown out when you export the report on report manager.
Generally, the exception is thrown out because there are more than 65535 files without deleting previous temporary files in our temporary directory. Based on my research, it has reported the same issue when exporting the report on report manager, and deleting all
temp files from C:\Windows\Temp could resolve the issue. I would also suggest you remove the temporary files from C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp. Please refer to the first comment at this link:

Getting an error when trying to check for update for my iPad

On the iPad itself, there is no option such as 'update' in the general tab under settings. So I connected the iPad to my computer and on iTunes, whenever I click for 'Check for Update' I get an error message that says:
The iPad software update server could not be contacted
Make sure your network setting are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later
My network is absolutely fine and I have been trying since almost 2 days now.

If you would like help from these user forums then saying what the error message was would be useful.
