Starting Firefox Setup 4 10.exe German version it will unpack the file and then stop

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have downloaded Firefox Beta 4. When I doubleclick the setup.exe the window extracting shows up and runs till 100% are reached. After that nothing else happens. I have tried this with Beta 4 9 and Beta 4 10.

See [[Firefox keeps opening many tabs or windows]]
You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an ''Open with'' download window.
Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.
You can delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/mimeTypes.rdf mimeTypes.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to reset all actions or set that action in Tools > Options > Applications to 'Always Ask'.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions ("File handling in Firefox 3 and SeaMonkey 2" and "Reset Download Actions")

  • HT2518 I have tried 3 times to migrate my info from my pc to my mac and it gets as far as starting to transfer the music file and then stops any ideas thanks

Hello just got my MacBook pro but cant migrate my pc info yo the mac tried three times gets as far as trying to transfer music then stops any ides thanks

as an addendum  - is there someway to "restart" a stalled restore.
When I went to bed last night my picture download was in the same position when I woke up. I am on the edge of cell service. I have NO cell service on this device - as the phone service has been transferred to a iphone6.
My phone is sitting 10-15 feet away from my wifi access point. there are appx 1200 pictures - so the restore takes an inordinate amount of time - much more than the few hour stated.

  • My Microsoft Silverlight just stopped working. It says that I need to reinstall so I deleted all of the files and then tried to reinstall. Now it says that a newer version of silverlight exists already but there are no versions of silverlight in the drive

    What should I do?

Those instructions are somewhat out of date.  There is no WPFe.plugin.  Even these instructions are out of date.
There seems to be two of these "how do I remove and update silverlight" threads going on at the same time.  Here's a link to the other one.
I was recommending the same thing over there as here with the same lack of results.  So I'll repeat here my last post in that thread not knowing at the time I am writing this whether that suggestion will work:
I only have one idea left.  After that you need to do some google searching on "uninstalling os x silverlight".  Apparently this has caused problems for a number of folks.
Remove the following two installer receipts:
    /private/var/db/receipts/com.microsoft.installSilverlightPlugin.bom
    /private/var/db/receipts/com.microsoft.installSilverlightPlugin.plist
/private/var may be invisible on your system so use the Finder's Go To Folder and type (or copy/paste) /private/var/db/receipts/ and click the Go button.

  • Curve 8520 starts loading the bar halfway then stops

I was just using whatsapp before this and it was going very slow and then when I would click on whatsapp, there would be a message saying uncaught exception or something like that so then I pulled the battery out and it never started properly after that but would just load the bar about 2/3 of the way and then stop.
I've tried charging it, it was fully charged before though and I've left it out the whole night and it still isn't working?
    It's a Curve 8520 with OS v.5

    Hi mairay
    Welcome to the Community
Please try to start your device in Safe Mode KB17877 ( after inserting the battery before the loading begain and red led blinks just press and hold the Escape  key for a min .after loading complete it will give you an option to start in safe mode )  and then uninstall whatsapp, and it will be nice if you recall the error message you recieved  and let us know.
Try and and let us know.

  • I get the following message when I attempt to start Firefox 5.0 - Error: Platform version 2.0.1 is not compatible with minVersion = 5.0 maxVersion = 5.0

I was asked to upgrade to version 5.0 tonight. As soon as I upgraded, Firefox stopped working with the above error. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, but I got the same message.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • I've installed the latest version of itunes but every time i try to run it i get to the eula and then it won't actually start

I'm running windows 7 sp1 and every time I try to run windows I can get to the EULA, which I agree to, and then it doesn't do anything. Nothing in task manager or anything.  It used to run, but then it started to give me an error saying that I didn't have proper permission to access the disc it's on, and then I went through a **** of a time getting the program to reinstall, but now it just won't even start at all.  frustrating.

It shouldn't be necessary to reboot the computer to complete an update.<br />
Download a fresh copy of Firefox ([http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html]) and do a reinstall of Firefox on top of the current version.<br />
You may need to do a clean install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • My LabVIEW exe starts to run and then stops in Windows 7

I have built an executable in LabVIEW 2010 on a Windows XP machine and set the properties to be built for Windows 7 or later but when I try to run the exe on the Windows 7 machine the application starts up briefly and then stops running with no error message. Has anyone seen this? I have disabled the firewall on the Windows 7 machine.

    Hi Wassa,
It's very strange that your application window opens and then slowly fades away while "LabVIEW shuts down." Can you first verify that the VI itself runs properly on the development machine? Can you then build a .EXE and ensure that it too runs properly on the development machine? If we can get the .EXE working on the development machine you have two deployment methods:
    1. If you are deploying to a computer that already has the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine and any additional drivers required for your application, then you simply need to copy the .EXE to the deployment machine
    2. If you are deploying to a fresh computer that has no NI software, you'll need to create an installer. When creating the installer, you will need to look through the 'Additional Installers' sections and select any of the additional drivers etc. that are required for your application. By default, LabVIEW only includes the Run-Time Engine. If you are missing any of the 'Additional Installers,' the application will not run properly.

  • Firefox 31.6.0 ESR version not allowing upload of files (404 error)

I am using Firefox ESR version for my organization. I am not able to upload files to a web based COTS product. I had no issues in ESR v 24.1.1. Is there a setting that I can use or something I'm missing? I have seen that this was an issue in the home use version, but not sure if it will be fixed in the ESR version.

So, in same environment on another machine (same GPOs applied) I have 24.1.1 ESR. No issues with uploading files.
A bit more (novice) explanation: To configure my security tools that use a web gui, I need to upload config files. When I click "upload" in any given tool, I get the 404 error. If I go to the 24.1.1 version, I get the gui to browse for the file and upload it.
    Does that help a bit?

  • Firefox always says using old version even after running the upgrade programme. Even after uninstalling & reinstalling? Why?

Every time I open Firefox the message "using old version" appears I have tried uninstalling the program and then reinstalling but no change, When I use Firefox as my browser a message appears to say you are using an old version of Firefox. This is just fustrating what can I do to correct?

It's certainly possible that Youtube has changed something...

  • I started downloading a movie but then realized it was not the english version. How do I correct and then download the right version?

I started downloading a movie from ITunes but then realized it was not the English version. I stopped the download. How do I return/cancel and instead download the English version? Thanks.

Are you sure there is an English language version available?
You'll just have to continue with the download and then delete the movie.

  • "Firefox 11.0.exe.part " Windows can't open this file.

I have been asked 3 times to update my Firefox over the past few days. Each time I tried it, Windows says it cannot open this file, or that it needs to know who created it. Then the next day I am told once again that I have to update Firefox. This is annoying to me.

The extension, ".part" indicates an incomplete download. Delete the file and re-download the update.

  • When I try to download Firefox for Windows, it unzips the file and says it cannot find 7-Zip file and stops download

I have windows 7 on a desktop. I had firefox before which worked fine then I attached a router to my computer that may have been defective and may have damaged the computer. I took the router off. Firefox suddenly reverted back to the start up page of when you are new to firefox, e.g. here's how it works, and stopped loading my normal home page. Even though I entered the tabs I wanted for my startup home page every time I shut down my computer it went back to the beginning thinking I had only just loaded it. I did lots of system diagnostics but nothing appeared to be wrong with my computer so I uninstalled Firefox, restarted, then downloaded it again. When I download it, it says run or save and I choose run. Then it extracts the file and a message comes up that says "7-Zip. Cannot find file. Then nothing more happens. No files are downloaded to my computer and it's as though I never tried to download it.

SAVE the installer to your hard drive (do not use the "Run" option); save it to your Desktop so that you can find it. When the download is complete, close whatever browser you have open, click or double-click the file you downloaded and see if it installs without a problem.
The downloader is a self-extracting archive and should not need or use 7-zip. I have 7-zip installed on my system and it does not interfere with nor is it used in the Firefox install process. Hopefully, you have not set the downloading of .exe files to be associated with 7-zip.
