Starting multiple wllogic 6.1 services

Hi! I have successfully installed two web logic 6.1 services. However, after starting the first one (using cpu mgt under control panel), then starting the second one, the first stops!! I can continue to start either the first or the second, but not both at the same time! Thanks for any help

For the shutdown, reverse the order (i.e. start with the concurrent manager, and finally shutdown the database).

Check your services and see what’s running. This can be done by going to Start>>Run and type “services.msc”. Then look for anything that starts with National Instruments or NI. Look to see if there are any entries running twice or if you are trying to call a service that is already running.

Attempted to start multiple instances of the service

After installing LabVIEW 8.5.1, I keep getting this message after a computer reboot. It does not say what multiple services are running. Anyone seen this before?

Start multiple services on a list of computers

I'm trying to write a PowerShell script to start multiple services for a computer list in a txt file. I know there has to be a way, but I'm running in circles trying to figure it out. My latest test is
Get-ContentD:\Scripts\test.txt|Foreach-Object{Get-Service-Name
'spooler'|Set-Service-StatusRunning}
Which starts the service on the server I'm running the script from. Also, the services I want to run are not on the server.
I'd appreciate any help.

If your sample text.txt file contains a list of computernames (one per row), then you simply need to add the "-computername parameter to the Get-Service command follower
by the PS default variable $_.
Get-Content D:\Scripts\test.txt | Foreach-Object{Get-Service -Name 'spooler' -Computername $_ | Set-Service-StatusRunning }

Start multiple domains simultaneously on 1 Weblogic server installation?

Is it okay to start and run multiple domains simultaneously. Better yet, when having multiple domains on 1 WLS server, should each domain have a different port number in order to be run simultaneously?
Here's my scenario - I installed Oracle Business Intellgence, which by default installs and configures WLS server for certain Business Intelligence applications (BI Publisher). This instance was running fine and good and still is.
Then I had another application, Oracle Data Integrator, which has a Console piece that requires a domain on WLS. So instead of modifying the existing domain for Oracle Business Intelligence, I created a new domain via the Configuration Wizard and selected those components for Oracle Data Integrator.
therefore current domains:
...\domains\bifoundation_domain --> installed automatically as part of Oracle Business Intelligence
...\domains\odi11g --> I created this domain after I
Now I have 2 domains under 1 WLS Server (windows 7 64bit), but if I startWeblogic.cmd for the bifoundation_domain, and I startWeblogic.cmd for the odi11g...then only the components for the bifoundation_domain become available via the WLS Console.
Questions:
- Can I run both domains simultaneously?
- Should I have modified the bifoundation_domain to include Oracle Data Integrator component; therefore only having 1 domain but having everything run under that domain?
- Does the Port for each domain matter? both bifounddation_domain and odi11g domain use ports 7001
Are there any other considerations? Thanks much.

Hi,
It is perfectly OK to run multiple domains on a single Weblogic server installation. Only constraint would be you have enough capacity available on your server to start multiple instances.
Things to note is, if your domain1 is running on listen address : port { localhost : 7001 } then your other domain should be configured on a different port say {localhost : 8001 }. If you want both domain to run on same port then go for virtual IP's to be plumbed on your physical network interface and configure as,
domain1 - { ip1 : 7001 }
domain2 - { ip2 : 7001 }
this way you will can access both domain admin console on same port.
Remember, Weblogic resources cannot be shared between domain, however a single nodemanager will be enough to monitor both the domains.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:

Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.

How to start and stop the BI Services in Solaris 10

Hello All,
Can anyone guide me on how to start and stop the BI Services in Solaris 10. In windows there are options set in Start->Programs->Middleware_Home->Start/Stop BI Services.
Primarily after doing changes to the scheduler configuration, I need to restart the services to get it implemented? If yes how can I do it?
Any help will be appreciated

I had to create a registry key and reboot:
1.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
3.
In the right pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry.
Note If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:
a.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
b.
Type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER.
4.
Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.
5.
Click Decimal, type 60000, and then click OK.
This value represents the time in milliseconds before a service times out.
6.
Restart the computer.
After the reboot, the service was running. Thanks for your help with this.

I think you have to maintain the Workflow Template as General Task and then only it will appear in the GOS.

Problem Starting a custom built portal service

When I try to start my custom build portal service I get the following error message:
"Server 4128450:Error in the listener class com.sap.ip.portal.admin.portalanywhere.QueryHandler during the process of handleTopic."
Does anyone have a solution on this problem?

Yes TemplateCC is my class. I originally used RSA (Rational) to export the JAR, but have since also done it with Vanilla Eclipse (Using the same export options that you use). Eventually I've come to the conclusion that there's nothing wrong with the jar, but rather something wrong with my App server. Here's why:
If I install and start the component on another ES2 server (running on JBoss) it installs perfectly and works correctly in a LC application. The problem only occurs when I try to install the component to my ES2 server on Websphere. I was wondering if it might have something to do with the IBM JVM, but haven't been able to confirm that suspicion yet.
In pursuit of a solution, can you confirm whether the following statement is valid: "If a component installs and starts on one LC server, it must be able to deploy and start on another, even on different platforms"

You are trying to start the program called tomcat\bin\net which does not exist. The net command belongs to Windows. Just issuing "net start tomcat" or "net start tomcat5" should work from any directory.
Or just go through the Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services dialog to start and stop Tomcat as a service.

Allow a user access to start and stop a particular service in Solaris 11 using RBAC controls

So, using svcbundle I created a service called "oracle" that starts and shutdown a db. I'm aware of how to grant RBAC access to be a "service operator" to be able to control start/stop ALL services. But I'd like to grant a user access to start and stop JUST this service.
in this document on page 15, it states that it's possible to do this kind of granularity but doesn't explain how to do it step by step.
how does one achieve this?

You need to add a property group such as

Then add the solaris.smf.manage.oracle authorization to the user profile.
