Starting to get frustrated
I recectly purchased some new parts for my pc. MSI K8N Neo Plat., AMD64 3400 Clawhammer, 1024 Corsair XMS 3200 ( 2x512) Pny 6800gt. The video card i purchased locally the rest i recieved from newegg. I know the card works because it was in my old machine. Once the parts came from newegg is when i proceeded to swap stuff out. Everything went fine until I go to turn it on, Fans start turning, harddrives spin. Ethernet light comes on, but i get no video. I have done everthing i can think of from trying my old ram, video card, differnt dimm slots, etc. etc. i install the d bracket and it gives "Initializing keyboard controller" code and just stay there. I unplugged my keyboard and mouse and still nothing. Any suggestions on what else i can try is greatly appreciated.
Check cabling. You may just have something hooked up wrong or a cable installed upside down. Most likely a hard drive cable, but check everything. Also check master/slave jumpers on drives.
Also, check pins on cpu, make sure none are bent. See the following thread for reference:

If possible, try another cpu in the board.

If the link doesn't work, it's just a search on this forum for "initializing keyboard controller". Run the search yourself if the link doesn't work. There's lots of people that have had and fixed your problem themselves and it's almost never a bad mobo causing this problem....

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My circa 2007 iMac freezes up, and rainbow wheel appears when this happens. I know the computer is starting to get old but I can't afford a new one at this time and would love to continue using my Mac, but it's frustrating. Most of the time I ONLY have 1 thing open at a time, and keep my tabs down to a minimum. I bought this to do film editing on but with it acting like this I cannot do that. I know I need a ram upgrade (currently running 2 gb) and my OS is old, 10.5.8, but I think even with it being a bit outdated it should run better than this. Would a fresh install or OS upgrade resolve this? Or any other suggestions to keep this clunker chugging along for a little while longer?
How full is the hard drive?
Do you run any virus software or hard drive "cleaner" software like MacKeeper?
If your model is from 2007 you can install up to 6 GBs of RAM.
2 GBs is the barest of minimum RAM for OS X to run on.
Especially if doing video work. You simply do not have sufficient RAM.
Also OS X 10.5.8 Leopard support ended around 2009.
You could update to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, at least.
It is available on disc from the Apple store for U.S. $19.99.
I Would seriously upgrade your iMac's RAM to the max. 6 GBs before doing this.
Reliable Mac RAM can be purchase from online Mac RAM source Crucial memory or OWC ( also known as macsales). -
i used this iphone wire for a bit, it worked perfectly but then suddenly i couldnt charge my iphone 5 and it stopped working completely. ive tried many other wires but they dont seem to work as well. im starting to get really frustrated and im really unsure of whats the case. i really really need help with this. please help asap!!
Presuming you are using a wall charger - it would seem that your battery needs to be looked at in an Apple store

hi I'm new in this Ae and i loved it and started to get into editing but when i watch videos on how to use effects like magnify and CC light burst 2.5 it doesn't work why?
First, I want to clear up some vocabulary issues. After Effects is not intended for editing video. Editing involves cutting shots together to tell a story. Premiere Pro edits video. While you technically can cut video together in AE, Premiere is much, much better for that.
After Effects is used for creating shots - visual effects, compositing, motion graphics, animation, color correction, color grading, etc.
What exact version number of AE (down to the decimal points) are you using? Plus the questions Todd asked, plus the info in the link he gave.
Also, if you're new to AE, you should really start here. This resource will give you a foundation in how to actually use After Effects that will probably clear up your current problem and prevent much more frustration in the future. -
Cannot install windows, starting to get really pissed off with this PLEASE HELP
ok, i'm starting to get agitated with this.
i cannot install windows XP, 2003, OR Longhorn on my machine.
right now, i have the following setup:
msi 865pe neo2 motherboard
intel p4 3.2ghz w/HT (factory HS/Fan currently)
1 dimm of PC3200 crucial DDR400
30GB maxtor HD plugged into primary IDE
pioneer dvd/cd drive as sencondary IDE
alps 3.5" floppy drive
antec true blue 480wt PSU
i do the following:

the farthest i can get is 'registering components/completing installation' i either get a blue screen stop error which isnt the same everytime, or it just locks up and doesnt do anything.
ran the memtest checker and get errors on test #4
i had a DIMM of kingston that gave the same errors, so i RMA'd it and got another. same errors, so i RMA'd again and got a Crucial stick. same errors.
so i RMA'd the motherboard since i figured it had to be that. and it improved from the problems i had earlier. (the problems i had before were worse before.)

even with new mobo and ram, i'm getting errors in memtest86 #4 test as i always have. i've tried different slots with same problems.
i only have one module because i dont want to waste anymore money on a non-working system. once i get it up and running i'll add another 512. -
I am experiencing some major problems with my MacBook Pro. I have had some issues with it turning on/off at random times, but today, when starting, I get the grey start-up screen and a recovery bar. After filling in approx 1/4 of the way, the machine dies. After starting it in recovery mode, it will not allow me to download OS X Mavericks- it says the disk is locked. Any ideas? I do not have a back-up and do not want to erase everything before I have explored my options. Help?
try forcing internet recover, hold 3 keys - command, option, r - you should see a spinning globe
most people will tell you to do both pram and smc resets (google) and if you still have issues, either clean install (easy) or troubleshoot (hard) -

No, just uninstall the MobileMe control panel. All Mobileme services have been discontinued, so the control panel is not doing you any good being in there at present.

I have started to get this error message: "5.1.3 bad address syntax" in my email account. I am using Outlook 2011. It does not appear to be affecting sending or receiving email. I have no idea what it means or how to resolve the issue. Any advice? My email account is through Optimum online and I am using Airpost Express.
P.S. The error sound "bong" is driving us nuts!Please post on the Office for Mac product forums that Microsoft hosts. It's their product and they can best troubleshoot the issue.

I bought an 24" iMac on July 2009 and started to use... I realized that i spent my 27 years for using (fixing) computers. Because the Mac was perfect. After iMac, i was really fine with my computer... But after something, that doesn't bother me, happened. The screen started to get cloudy and black... And it increased. They changed my screen but in 2 months it happened 3 times and i wanted them to change my iMac with new one, under customer laws... In our country, the device must be changed with new one if the same problem occurs in 3 months. Because i know the customer satisfaction of Apple, i didn' worry about it but Bilkom refused my will... I spoke with them for 2 months but nothing happened, they just told me, it' not our problem.
Because of this speech, i sued them on June 2011... Last week, i won the case but just for the return of invoince... It costs 3.200 Turkish Liras (1.800$) and there's no 24" iMac unused... Bilkom again refused to give me an iMac... I thought that Apple's customer satisfaction can't be like this... I didn't write anything to Apple till now but if i can't get an iMac, i must return to normal PC after 2 years... And i don't want that... I offered an iMac 27" with core i7... No matter Bilkom accepts or not, they don't care of me... I'm a customer, they should do... I've never seen such a like company. I hope the real Apple will help my problem and save me from Bilkom...

Although, it appears that your problem is with a third party store and that you have won in court - did you get your money back? 24" iMacs have not been made since 2009 or 2010. Now there are 21" and 27" iMacs.

Hi all, I've got a problem concerning the RWB and Visual Admin. When I try to process a file of e.g.. 15MB the RWB hangs up and I also can not log on to the Visual Admin. I'm doing some complicated things within a self-developed module, but the usage
