please help, thanks in advance.

Would you mind (if you haven't already) opening a bug on the HTTPServices issue over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Please include sample code so we can reproduce this internally.  Once added, please post back with the bug number or URL so I can investigate internally.
As for the second issue, are you using Flash Builder, Flash Professional, or some other tool when publishing your app?
Thanks,
Chris

    Log Message:
    SDK-15848 - Conditional compilation constants defined in flex-config.xml are never used if a single constant is specified on the command line
    * There's a possibility this will break a conditional complication test which disallows overwriting an existing definition -- I don't know if that will break the build, but the test should be removed either way.
    * Using append syntax ("-define+=" on the command line or ant tasks, or append="true" in flex-config) and redefining a value works now if you use an already-defined namespace and name.
    * So your flex-config may have -define=CONFIG::debug,false, and you may want -define+=CONFIG::debug,true from the commandline build, or FB build.
    * Made the ASC ConfigVar fields final as a sanity check since overwriting is now allowed. It would be harder to track changes and subtle bugs if they were mutable. This means that you must build a new ConfigVar object if you need to make changes.
    Bugs: SDK-15848
    QA: Yes. Please read the updated javadocs in CompilerConfiguration. Tests need to be added to validate that overwriting is allowed, and happens correctly in different situations: I believe the order should be that flex-config is overwritten by a custom config (can we have more than one user config? is the order deterministic? I forget...), is overwritten by commandline or OEM. Did I miss any? (I didn't write code which changes this, it works however the existing configuration system allows overwriting and appending; if we have tests for that, maybe we don't need them duplicated for this feature.)
    Doc: Yes. Please read the updated javadocs in CompilerConfiguration.

  • Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.

    Hi,
    I am tryng to create a Flex Project, but got stuck with an error....
    The Error is  Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
    Initially I download jboss-5.1.0.GA and placed it in C folder.
    While creating project, I selected J2EE server,  selected remote object access service and LiveCycle Data Services...
    In the next step, I de-selected the use default location for local  LiveCycle Data Services server.
    In the root folder - C:\jboss-5.1.0.GA
    for Root URL:  http://localhost:8700/flex/
    Context Root: /flex
    when I clicl Validate Configuration.. this is the error I get  Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
    I can't understand what is going wrong here....any ideas....
    Thanks for the Help.....
    Thanks

    Run the wizard, select ColdFusion as the server technology, but don't
    check the option to use remote object access service. Then, open the
    project properties dialog, go to the Flex Compiler page, and add a the
    compiler flag: -services
    "C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\WEB-INF\flex\services-config.xml" (obviously
    changing the path as appropriate). This flag is what gets set by the
    wizard when you opt to use Flash Remoting.  -http://www.feed-squirrel.com/index.cfm?evt=viewItem&ID=77732
    Above is a work-around/solution that was successful for me.  Below are screen shots of how I initially configured the project, following the above solution.
    In the image above, notice how I didn't tick the "Use remote object access service" checkbox.
    For the image below, the 'Y:\' value is a mapped network directory to my server (IIS) webroot, which is "\\windowsserver/Inetpub/wwwroot/".  Root URL is the name of my server.  Fill in the fields with correct values and hit finish.
    Then navigate ( Project>Properties>Flex Compiler ) to this project's 'Flex Compiler context menu.
    And 'W:\' is another mapped network directory that points obviously to my Coldfusion's WEB-INF\flex.
    I hope that this helps.  As you may see, I'm hoping that this will help you and others that are likely to come across problem.

  • Managed Servers not starting with options configured in config.xml

    Hi,
    I Installed an Weblogic 10.3 on a Red Hat system and i configured an domain and 2 managed servers.
    I configured the servers with some java arguments like this:
    -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -Xloggc:/home/oracle/logs/managed-server{1,2}_gc.log -XX:NewSize=128m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -Xms384m -Xmx384m -XX:PermSize=128m
    I do see in the ${DOMAIN_HOME}/config/config.xml the managed servers with the settings that I have configured it via the Web Gui Admin Console.
    Now I want to start the Managed Servers with the following command:
    +cd ${DOMAIN_HOME}/bin+
    +./startManagedWebLogic.sh managed-server1 http://admin:port+
    When i check the console, I don't see the correct JVM settings! Also other options that I configured in the Web Gui Admin Console, don't appear in the logfile.
    The JVM settings I see, are those from the AdminServer.
    How can I change/fix this?
    Please help.

    Hi,
    Please add the changes to the startup script startManagedWeblogic.sh.
    You can add the memory args settings as "-XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -Xloggc:/home/oracle/logs/managed-server{1,2}_gc.log -XX:NewSize=128m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -Xms384m -Xmx384m -XX:PermSize=128m"

  • Music Start/Stop Times with iTunes Match causes iOS Music App to glitch

    I set Start Time and Stop Time values for my music in iTunes to crop off non-music parts of tracks, but the Start/Stop Times cause the iOS Music app to glitch out when the track streams via iTunes Match. If a track has a Start Time set, the track will get stuck, and repeat the first fraction of a second of the track over and over, seemingly for the amount of the Start Time. And if the Stop Time is set, the NEXT track will glitch out. For example, if a track has a Start Time of 0:10, the track will glitch out for at least 10 seconds before the track actually starts playing. Sometimes the track never stops advances beyond 0:00.
    I think the problem caused by the fact that iTunes Match is streaming the entire track so the Music app just freaks out for the duration of the Start/Stop Times.
    Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a workaround?
    For now, I've just been searching my 22,000 song library for tracks with Start/Stop Times and exporting new hard-cropped files, but this is tedious, takes up hard drive space, and degrades the audio with lossy-to-lossy double-compression.

    I'm having the exact same problem and from my research I believe that the old process of being able to turn ITM off, sync your music to your iPad, and then turn ITM back on no longer work.  You are correct that going through this process wipes out your music.  It's only on IOS 6.0 on my Gen 3 ipad because on my gen 1 iPad, I can't upgrade to IOS 6.0 and the old process still works fine under IOS 5.0.
    In order to get around this I created a massive playlist (a superset of all my other playists) that I downloaded by using the download button in order to get local copies of my music on my ipad 3.0.
    It seems to be working for now but I can't force my ipad to keep all that music local anymore.  If I download other music or movies in the future (and become low on space) Apple makes the decision about what to remove from my local copy in order to fit the new content on the device.

  • Compiler.define in flex-config and compc

    I'm having an issue with compile time constants.  I'd like to define these constants in two places, but when I do the flex compiler forgets constants defined in my flex-config.xml (DEBUG::DEBUGGING and DEBUG::VERBOSE).  I am using flextasks.tasks in ant to build the project.
    In my build.xml:
    <target name="build-project" depends="init">
        <echo message="Building ${proj.swc.file}" />
        <compc output="${proj.target.dir.bin}/${proj.swc.file}"
            target-player="${proj.flashver}">
            <compiler.define name="INFO::VERSION_MAJOR" value="${proj.version.major}" />
            <compiler.define name="INFO::VERSION_MINOR" value="${proj.version.minor}" />
            <compiler.define name="INFO::VERSION_RELEASE" value="${proj.version.release}" />
            <compiler.define name="INFO::BUILD_TIMESTAMP" value="${proj.build.timestamp}" />
            <compiler.define name="INFO::BUILD_TIMEZONE" value="${proj.build.timezone}" />
            <load-config filename="${mx.sdk.dir}/frameworks/flex-config.xml"/>
            <load-config filename="${basedir}/flex-release-config.xml"/>
            <source-path path-element="${proj.build.dir.src}" />
            <include-sources dir="${proj.build.dir.src}" includes="**/*.as **/*.mxml"/>
            <!-- <compiler.external-library-path dir="${proj.build.dir.lib}" includes="*.swc" append="true" /> -->
            <compiler.external-library-path dir="${proj.target.dir.lib}" includes="*.swc" append="true" />
        </compc>
    </target>
    In flex-release-config.xml:
    <flex-config>
        <compiler>
            <debug>false</debug>
            <keep-generated-actionscript>false</keep-generated-actionscript>
            <verbose-stacktraces>false</verbose-stacktraces>
            <optimize>true</optimize>
            <define>
                <!-- Enables debugging mode -->
                <name>DEBUG::DEBUGGING</name>
                <value>false</value>
            </define>
            <define>
                <!-- Provides more information to the developer -->
                <name>DEBUG::VERBOSE</name>
                <value>false</value>
            </define>
        </compiler>
    </flex-config>
    If I compile using compc on the command line I can use -define+=NAME,value and it works.  Why is it not working using the compc task in ant?

    Try adding the append="true" attribute to the define elements. I'm not sure if this will work, but that's how it works (append="true" is the equivalent of +=) for other elements like external libraries.

  • Can i reference external flex-config in flexunit ant task?

    flexunit gurus,
    i'm trying to figure out how to best specify the compiler arguments for the flexunit ant task in flexunit 4.1 beta 1.  from the documentation i see this sample flexunit usage:
    <flexunit workingDir="${bin.loc}" toDir="${report.loc}"
    haltonfailure="false" verbose="true" localTrusted="true">
    <testSource dir="${main.src.loc}" />
    <testSource dir="${test.src.loc}">
    <include name="**/*Test.as" />
    </testSource>
    <library dir="${lib.loc}" />
    </flexunit>
    in this example, the source and library paths are explicitly listed.  in this simple example all the needed libraries reside within a single directory.
    when i build my application, i use a custom flex-config.xml file, as the following snippet shows:
            <mxmlc file="${application.file}" output="${swf.debug.file}" debug="true" headless-server="${headless.server}">
                <load-config filename="${flex.config.file}" />
            </mxmlc>
    in that custom flex-config.xml file i list all the build options (e.g. source dirs, library paths, theme, etc.) appropriate for building the application.  the libraries i reference are in a number of different directories (in general each 3rd party library is in a different directory).
    in the flexunit task, i could individually reference all the same libraries that are in the flex-config.xml, but that'd be a pain to keep them in sync.  i suppose i also could parse the flex-config.xml to extract the library information and use that to populate the library argument.  really what i want to say in the flexunit task is "build all source and tests as indicated in flex-config.xml, then run the tests", perhaps with a syntax like the following:
    <flexunit workingDir="${bin.loc}"  toDir="${report.loc}"
    haltonfailure="false" verbose="true" localTrusted="true">
                <load-config filename="${flex.config.file}" />
    <testSource dir="${test.src.loc}">
    <include name="**/*Test.as" />
    </testSource>
    <library dir="${flexunit.lib}" />
    </flexunit>
    i'd rather keep the flex-config.xml file free of any test specific information, so ideally i'd specify the path to the flexunit swc's and the test path in the flexunit task (as in the above example).
    is there support for such usage currently or planned for in the future?  recommendations on how best to accomplish my goal of not duplicating library information already present in a custom flex-config.xml?
    thanks.
    -mike

    hi brian,
    thanks for your response.
    i understand the desire to avoid re-implementing the flex sdk ant tasks.  i'm not sure that can reasonably be accomplished wihen the TestRunner is dynamically generated from within the flexunit task.  in addition to the source path and library path, the theme setting and namespaces settings can affect successful compilation, and the runtime-shared-library-path setting can affect whether the produced swf runs correctly.
    perhaps there's an alternative.  what if we separate the creation of the TestRunner.mxml from the compilation and the execution of the tests.  if flexunit offers an ant task that can produce (but not run) a TestRunner.mxml, i can write the mxmlc task that compiles it properly, and then i can invoke the old style flexunit specifying the swf argument.  this would still accomplish my primary goal of not needing to manually enumerate every test file in a TestRunner.mxml that i have to maintain (and which neither Flash Builder nor maven builds require).  to compile the TestRunner.mxml, i'd load in my custom flex-config.xml, then append to the source path and library path to include my test directory and flexunit libraries.
    maybe something like the following to create the TestRunner:
    <generatetestrunner output="${bin.loc}/TestRunner.mxml">
              <testSource dir="${test.dir}">
                 <include name="**/*Test.as" />
              </testSource>

    thoughts?
    one other thing i noticed about the current library argument to flexunit is that it assumes a directory even if you provide an explicit path to an swc (i tried switching <library dir...> to <library file...> but that didn't seem to make a difference).  in my case, there are specific swc's i need in the library path, and the task assuming i mean a directory when i specify an explicit swc is problematic.  the directory my swc libraries are contained in sometimes contain multiple and conflicting versions of a library (each library directory contains various snapshot builds of the library).  i need a way to explicitly indicate which library to use.
    finally, could you point me to the java source for the flexunit ant tasks?  i've found the flexunit action script source ok but haven't found where the java ant task is defined.
    thanks.
