Starting WebLogic Commerce as an NT Service
Hi. I have tried running the WebLogicCommerce Server as an NT service,
using the wlservice from the weblogic/bin directory, and setting
correctly the environment properties needed for running the commerce. It
seems to start.... When I run the portal examples, they do not run, i
get a 500 http error, and i think what is causing is this the following:
weblogic.utils.ParsingException: nested IOException:
java.io.IOException: cannot resolve 'lib/esjsp.jar' into a valid tag
library
at weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspLexer.parse(JspLexer.java, Compiled Code)
at weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspParser.doit(JspParser.java, Compiled Code)
at weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspParser.parse(JspParser.java:115)
I suspect that the wlservice appends incorrectly the <weblogic
home>/classes directory to the classpath, and this makes the commerce
confused with the classloaders.

It looks like you do not have WLS 5.1 service pack 6 installed correctly. I
say this because I do not see the sp6 message at the top of your log and I saw
this message in your log:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no

Hi
I am unable to start Weblogic Server 6.1 as a Windows 2000 Server

Hi
I forgot to add in my prevoius msg that I am able to start the weblogic
server
from the cmd propt with out any error. The problem is only when I try
to start
it as a windows service .
Thanks
babu
Have you resolved this yet?
I had the same problem, and read that if I add the
"-password <password>" argument to the "beasvc.exe" command
in the "intallNtService.cmd" script, the problem was resolved.
To do this, you will have to use the "uninstallNtServer.cmd"
script to uninstall the service, edit the install script to
add the "-password <password>" argument to the beasvc.exe
command, then run the "installNtService.cmd" script to install
the service.
For me, it now works.
Good luck. -
JMS resource not located when starting Weblogic 8.1 as windows service
I have a Weblogic 8.1 cluster which I am trying to configure as a Windows service.
The managed servers startup up without errors when started from the command line, but when I start it up as a service they do not seem to find the JMSConnectionFactory that has been configured.
Any ideas on what I am missing ?
MaliniCan you post the error message? Are your custom connection factories targeted to the cluster?

I created a windows service to start a managed server and the services was created successfully and stated. WHen I go to the Weblogic Server Admn console, the server is still showing shutdown. Whenm I try to start it, it returns with error that the the service is not able to start. Has anyone ran into anything similar. I am running on Windows Server 2008R2 and running Weblogic Server 10.3.6 and Fusion Middleware 11.1.6.
CHi,
For starting managed server as windows service there is no need of nodemanager .
Please follow the steps given in the below doc:

at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:248)Hi,
I've gotten past this error, but I still can't start my Weblogic service. From what I can tell, there is something wrong with the PATH. I've set the path within the InstallSvc.cmd file, however, after it's installed, I checked the registry entry for the service, went to the path defined and tried to run java.exe.
It does not work as there is no java.exe in the specified path. In the registry, the 'Path' parameter is set to 'D:\product\Oracle\11.1.1\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin' which is my weblogic home directory. Obviously, there is no java.exe in this directory, so this is normal behaviour. However, I would expect the 'Path' to be set as:
Path=D:\product\Oracle\111~1.1\MIDDLE~1\patch_wls1032\profiles\default\native;D:\product\Oracle\111~1.1\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\native\win\x64;D:\product\Ora
cle\111~1.1\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\bin;D:\product\Oracle\111~1.1\MIDDLE~1\modules\ORGAPA~1.0\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\Java\JDK16~1.0_1\jre\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\Java\JDK16
~1.0_1\bin;D:\product\Oracle\11.1.1\client\OraClient11g_home1\bin;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;D:\product\Oracle\111~1.1\MIDDLE~1\WLS
ERV~1.3\server\native\win\x64\oci920_8
Above is what I set in the installSvc.cmd file. Maybe the 'Path' in the registry for the service has a different purpose than the 'PATH' parameter I specify above.
Please note the Java home directory is specified in "8dot3" format. I am using version 1.6.0_18.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you. -
Starting weblogic server as NT Service.
Hi,
When I start weblogic server at cmdline our classes generate many
messages like "Server started successfully" etc as console output. But
when I start it as a service I dont see any of these. Can I specify an
output file for all the messages when starting the server? If so what is
the exact syntax?
Regards,
BilloHi.
Most of these messages are also in the weblogic.log file. Is this what you
are looking for?

i didn't succeed to start weblogic as a service, when i try to start the "beasvc ...." service, this process terminates without starting the service. where can i find log file to have details.
Can anyone help me please.
Thanks in advance.Hi Jit,
Rename the boot.properties to boot.properties_back,
Now are u able to start the Admin Server with direct StartAdmin.sh script???
If yes, what were the credentials used during startup, were they weblogic/weblogic???
If you have forgotten your username and password
Follow the steps provided in the below link for resetting the password
http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=323
Once you follow the above steps
Try login to console with the new username and password.
Now changes needs to be done in installSvc_iw.cmd
set WLS_USER=weblogic
set WLS_PW=weblogic Regards

Weblogic commerce server start problem
Hello,
When I try to start the Weblogic Commerce server 3.2,
I get the error message:
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
Exception raised: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission
weblogic.management.password read)
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission
weblogic.management.password read)
I have changed the property weblogic.password.system in the weblogic.properties file
to the system password for Weblogic.
Any ideas?Double-check the weblogic.policy file in your WLS 5.1 installation directory. My codeBase and
FilePermission for my WinNT installation looks like this:
grant codeBase "file:C:/wls/-" {
permission java.io.FilePermission "C:${/}wls${/}-", "read,write,delete,execute";

BEA WebLogic Commerce Server 3.5 with MS SQL Server 2000 as DB
Ooops !
Sorry but in my last mail I forgot to attach the file with the

Hi to all.
I have a problem using BEA WebLogic Server 3.5 (with service
pack 1) with SQL Server 2000 as the database. I followed the
instructions for SQL Server 7 included in the file readme.txt > in WLCS_35_DDLand the (thin) Web documentation on the
subject. The I tried to run the example portal and the
templates examples. All is working well apart from the fact
that some data seem not to be taken from the database. For
example the example portal lacks the news titles in the "News > Index" portletand the ads in the "AcmePromotion" portlet. In > the templates examples some logo

Aug 21, 2003 10:19:22 AM CDT> <Error> <COMMERCE_SERVER_FRAMEWORK> <W646> <Admin>
<main> <> <> <000000> <LOG_FATAL: WebLogic Personalization Server: Core Server:

I have got a temp license. i copied and pasted in the group of the license.bea
file. Is that the way i do?
Plz let me know what is the solution for this error.
I have installed Weblogic server6.1 with SP5 along with this server
Thanks,
EshwerHello Muffy,
It looks like you do not have WLS 5.1 service pack 6 installed correctly. I
say this because I do not see the sp6 message at the top of your log and I saw
this message in your log:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no
further input; "transaction-isolation" is not allowed

Starting Weblogic Server 5.1
Hi,
I've downloaded the evaluation license files as instructed but am having
problems starting the Weblogic Server.
I'm using the following :-
NT 4 Service Pack 5 on an Intel Pentium III platform
250MB RAM
9 GB hard drive
This server was prepared from scratch specifically for the evaluation of
this product. I have tried both JDK 1.2 and JDK 1.3 as well as not
installing a JDK at all and just rlying on the JRE that comes as part of
the installation.
Using the weblogic console (which fires up OK), I get an error
associated with the Java file that parses the license XML file resulting
in a weblogic.common.LicenseCorruptException.
In addition, the console dialog reports that javai.dll could not be
found (searching for this dll using explorer shows that the file does
not exist on the machine). As I understand it, this dll has been
superceded by jvm.dll for the JDK 1.2 for Win in any case.
Finally, when I examine the properties by using Weblogic ->Show
Settings, I notice
that one of the system properties reads as follows:-
weblogic.security.home= =C:\weblogic\weblogic.policy
i.e the equality operator appears instead of the assignment operator.
The installation itself is completely standard with weblogic being
installed to the root directory i.e. C:\weblogic.
I would appreciate it if anyone could please let me know why this error
is
being caused and how it can be corrected.
Regards
Michael M. AkramTry validating the license file with a separate XML parser ( e.g.:
Apache Xerces ). The only reason I can think of why it is complaining of
a LicenseCorruptionException is the license must not be a fully valid
xml document. (some missing beginning or closing tags, misspelt element
names, etc.)(

Yes, I do see a valid XML file. In fact, there are two files - one for the Weblogic
Server and one for the Weblogic Commerce Server. I've run setenv and the class
paths seem to be OK.

Thank you for your reply Jesus.
I have actually tried this and I get a number of errors with the first being
weblogic.common.LicenseCorruptException: Error parsing XML file.
The license files are in the correct directory and have been downloaded twice
to ensure that there was no corruption during the download.
Any other tips would be very welcome.

YOu are better of running via the console using startWebLogic.cmd, and

Edited by: 829347 on Feb 2, 2011 12:48 AMHow are you starting the managed server? Is it a new install? The error suggests that the managed server is already running. You could check the windows task manager to see if there is a Java process running (or two if managed and admin server is on the same machine)
