Startrfc.exe cannot be executed

Hello,
My environment consists of a Windows Server 2003 and SAP ECC 6.0.
An application on Windows Server executes a  SAP F.M. using startrfc via a command.
When the command startrfc.exe is executed with a command like
C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\rfcsdk\bin\startrfc.exe -3 -h <sap_system> -s <system_nr> -c <mandt> -l IT -u <user> -p <password> -F <function_module> -E <parameter>
the error
The system cannot executed the specified program
is returned.
Looking into event viewer at the execution moment three errors are returned. Two of them reports that dependent assembly Microsfot.V80.CRT is not installed on the system.
But the .NET Framework 1.1 is installed.
Has anyone an idea how to solve the problem ?
Regards.

Thanks for your replay.
I forgot to write in my message that i copied same program on my laptop with XP and it's run correctly.
startrfc.exe is include in a package named rfcsdk that it's possible to download from SAP Marketplace.
And also is competly platform independent.

  • Calling system with startrfc.exe. Log

    Hi.
We are involved in upgrade from 46c to 60 and we have some problems with execute a call RFC from external systems with program startrfc.exe. To determine the error firsts we need to locate the error log. Anybody know where is located the error log of startrfc process? Or it is possible to read the error with a SAP transaction?
    Regards,

    This may be a Hint
I think if you are using addition option -T in startrfc then this will turn trace on. internally this will write to the trace file 'dev_rfc'

  • Calling startrfc.exe from within a vbs script

Hello, can someone help me please
I am trying to process xml idocs into SAP on a Windows 2008 server. I have written a vbs script to process the file and am trying to call STARTRFC.EXE from within the vbs script. However I keep getting an error that it cannot open the file. The code is shown below. I have changed the server name and gateway and user/passwd for security. I'm passing the filename as a variable (str_expfile) but it does not seem to be able to extract the actual file name from the variable. I know from past experience that you can pass it variables if its running on a unix box and in a shell. But for some reason it not decipering the variable name in the vbs script
    Set objShell = CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
    str_startrfc = "D:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\startrfc.exe -d SID -3 -h hostname -s 00 -g hostname -x sapgw00 -u user -p passwd -c 100 -l EN -t -F EDI_DATA_INCOMING -E PORT=MYPORT -E PATHNAME=str_expfile"
    objShell.Run str_startrfc, ,True
The error I'm getting is shown below:

    Hi Markus
Unfortunately I can't do that because I need it to process hundreds of files one after another and I would have to hard code the file path each time. That's why I need it automated.
Can startrfc.exe not take a variable for the pathname in a vb script? It works fine in a unix shell. We are migrating from unix to windows and I need to convert all my unix scripts into vb scripts.
I notice there is a nother rfc type program available, can I use rfcexec.exe instead of startrfc.exe and would it take variables?
    Thanks

  • Search cannot be executed because the table has pending changes

I'm getting the following error ..... The search cannot be executed because the table has pending changes that would be lost .... in the following scenario ....
My 1st page is a search page with resulting rows from which the user can select specific rows to process ..... next button will populate the VO for the 2nd page by manually looping thru the selected rows in the VO of the 1st page. Loop logic is in the AM and it calls a method in the VORowImpl that uses setAttributeInternal .... the 2nd page displays the selected rows .....
Pressing the back button of the 2nd page will display the 1st page and if the user tries to do a new search .... the error shows up.
Any suggestions on how to handle this?
    Thank you.

It seems to me that you are using the same VO on both the pages. If that is the case try to use separate VO for each page.
And as suggested by Sumit, Never use/ rely on browser back button. Instead put a Back button on the second page through you can handle the event yourself rather than leaving on the mercy of browser.

    Good day,
On Search Page, I have searched for the record(s) then deleted a record and got confirmation message i.e. Record has deleted. Next when I search for any record I'm getting below error.

    Hi
Check this link Getting error in search page search cannot be executed
    Regards,

  • Error: Show Details cannot be executed when multiple items are selected in a report filter field or in a slicer

I have connected TABULAR Model to Excel, and in the pivot the filter is on multiple dimensions. When doing the drillthrough action it gives error - Error: Show Details cannot be executed when multiple items are selected in a report filter field or in a slicer
Is there any workaround to this error?  so that drillthrough can be done even with multiple selection.

    Hi Vikas,
The reason behind the error message requires the knowledge on what happens at the backend. When you perform a drill-through action, a query is sent to Analysis Services. This query is expressed in a query language called Multi-Dimensional Expression (MDX).
Since the MDX language doesnot support drill-through command against a set (collection of tuples) an error is persisted.
For now, there is no workaround as it is a limitation of the underlying language that is generating the query.
When multiple items are selected you lose the ability to drill-down on individual metrics. To resolve you must either:
    1. Select a single Item.
    2. Select all items.
    Hope this helps!

  • Front-end functions cannot be executed in the background in SM37

    Hi ,
I have developed a BDC program for Tcode HRUSER . The program is working fine in Frontend but when Executed in Background through SM37 gives a error -:
"Front-end functions cannot be executed in the background".
I am not using any function like GUI_DOWNLOAD or anything like that .
    Thanks
    Nikhil Arya.

    Hi ,
No , the program is not taking any inputs from the user .
when i am executing the program in background mode it is just showing the messages at the end which i am writing in the program for eg:
"creating a user for employee 2306328".
So , only the list of messages comes at the end .
    Thanks

Try find these files which package provides!
Edit: maybe package 'wine' provides this but as I see these libs are in /usr/lib/wine.

  • NOT able to call exe in ssis execute process task

I am creating an SSIS package in which we execute an exe file from the EXECUTE PROCESS COMPONENT which contains the logics and uses few sp’s which checks the expiry dates of the certificates of some URL's. But when we keep the file on sever and run it through
TWS it is showing the error "FILE NOT IN PATH" .But if we keep the exe file in local path then it executes through TWS. If we run the package locally without TWS then it runs successfully no matter if the exe is in local path or placed in a shared
server folder. So i want to know is there any constraints in running the EXE file from the shared folder through TWS.
    Note:
1.TWS- IBM Tivoli workload scheduler to call and execute ssis packages
    2. TWS is install in different server (Like server A)
    3. SSIS package and exe file located in different server (Like server B)
    4. We are using dynamic path in SSIS package to locate SSIS package and exe file.

    Hi SR_MCTS,
According to your description, a package that execute an exe file with Execute Process Task can be executed successfully without using TWS or the exe file stores in local path with TWS. While it fails when use TWS to execute the package with the exe file
    stores in shared folder.
If in this scenario, it seems that the logon user that use TWS to execute the package has no access to the shared folder. We can logon as the relevant account or change some relevant settings on TWS to make sure the user has access to shared folder which
    hosts the exe file.
Besides, since I’m not familiar with TWS, I’m not sure whether the issue is caused by there are some constraints in running the exe file from the shared folder through TWS. As to this issue about TWS, I suggest you post the question in the following forum:
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/forum?id=11111111-0000-0000-0000-000000002658&tags=tws. It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
    Thank you for your understanding.

Well...at least as up-to-date as on March 2nd(when I did last system-wide upgrade); trying to update system tonight to see whether this works.

Nope I didn't enable [testing]; I've discovered some packages in [multilib], namely gcc-multilib or something similar(with the -multilib subfix) and some of these packages belong to the group "multilib-devel". Is installing these packages a must for compiling 32-bit packages?
