Startup Boot Error - Loading Screen Stalls

hi guys,
atm i am on my windows laptop because my mac ibook G4 has a problem with the startup sequence or somthing. I power up my PC and it makes chime sounds then goes to the gear that spins in circles with the apple emblem (loading screen) and makes beeping sounds every few seconds. I can boot it with Mac OSX CD and get into disk utility and did a disk utility repair on my hardrive and it fixed 1 problem with my storage folder which is where i store stuff (not where the main osx stuff is stored.) I restart it it does the same thing.. just sits at the spinning gear loading screen and makes beeps every few seconds.. I carn't even start it in safe mode by holding shift down soon as I hear the chimes... I even did the reset power management **** to no avail.. ITS REALLY FRUSTRATING!!!! If nothing can be done will a format and fresh install fix this problem?! <pulls hair out> thats the last measure I want.. A format -.-.
Thanks,
Pico

  • Error Loading Screens - No End Label

In out Quality client, transactions XD01, XD02 and XD03 are all getting the following error:
Error Loading Screens - No End Label.
Yesterday our DEV and QAS systems crashed (I'm not particularily sure why they crashed as I was not involved with the crash/recovery; I believe it may have been power related).
I'm simply wondering if any of you have stumbled on this error. There does not seem to be any extended error information in SAP. I tried breaking into the code; however, the first screen of the above transactions is a Modal Subscreen, so I cannot enter the /h command. I tried getting to the source by debugging from the menu, but quickly got lost in the German code/comments.
Any tips on finding the source code would be appreciated; however, my main question is if anyone has run into this error, and if so, how was it resolved?
We are going to try and rebuild the source. If that works, I will post to let others know.
    Thank you,
    Steven Coolbaugh

    Unfortunately, I can't see it.
It appears as an Error Message (red bar at bottom of screen). Any attempt to F1 or click the message to recieve details on it simply kills the transaction. Therefore, I am only able to see the displayed text.
Is there a table where I can use the text to find the msg no?
    Thank you,

  • Z87-G45 Gaming - Boot error code A2 (stalled)

    Hey folks,
I just purchased this board with an i5-4670k
I have a weird issue with the boot process.  It doesn't occur at bios default values, only when I change them.
Here is the steps I do prior to get this stalled on BIOS load screen
1- I change the OC settings to get to either 4.2 or 4.4GHZ (1.29v for CPU 4.4ghz and 2v for input)
2- hit F10, save and restart
    3- Boot normaly into windows.
4- Launch AIDA64 to stress test the system for 8h.  Yes I did the 8 hours at first.  It successfully passed the stress test.
    5- I browsed a little bit.
    6- I played battlefiled
    No issue so far.
    7- I shutdown the computer.
8- I then restarted it, and BOOOOMM.  It stalls on the black screen, prior to the Dragon screen, with a A2 code in the lower right corner.
So I know the the OC is fine, since the stress test is OK for that long.  I tried it several time, but only stressed it for 30min, then reboot and BOOMMM again.  :/
So can someone, from MSI, help me?
    Thx

    Hey!
I decided to chip in since I have almost the same issue.
My PC boots to Windows and runs just fine apart from the 2second A2 debug code delay. Been playing games like BF4 for a good amount of time etc.
I just seem to be getting that same A2 debug code whenever I boot, seems to be the WD Caviar Red drive I just bought a week ago, already tried a few different sata and power cables, which dont help the case. When I unplug it the boot happens normally without any debug codes. Thing is the HDD seems to be working just fine, tested it with HD Tune Pro and CrystalDiskInfo. Also im not certain, but pretty sure that the A2 debug code only started happening after I installed a GTX 770 (day after the WD 1TB Caviar Red drive). Then again that doesnt make much sense? Since then it would most likely be an issue with the PSU, but seeing how I can play BF4 on high settings for 2hours straight it most definately isnt I think. My problem doesnt have anything to do with overclocking though, since I run everything on default.
Any ideas? And again, sorry for chipping in your thread. Just saw the same debug code problem and thought I shouldnt do a new one.

  • Startup/boot error

My computer must have shut down on its own and when it tried to boot back up it has an error message that says "cannot boot from any device" and then it lists the current boot order and device statuses. Each of the options say that either the device is not found or there is no operating system. I tried to modify the boot order but that didn't work either and my computer won't turn on any further than this error screen. HELP!

which machine model are we talking about here?

any help on how to fix this 13+ minute gap would be MOST appreciated - thanks!

Roam has made a good catch.
It looks like the long lag begins from Software Update. (Booting in Verbose mode or looking in system.log might give more clues as to what's going on.) Is Sys Prefs>Software Update set to automatically check for, or download, updates (daily?) If it is, it may, for some reason, be getting hung up there. Uncheck that preference and see what the boot time looks like.
I would create another admin account (I always have one set up for testing purposes) and see if the boot up is the same.
You may have a problem with Software Update
Delete the contents (not the enclosing folder) of this folder
    /Users/yourusername/Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate
And move this file to the Desktop:
    /Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
(there may be several more nearby titled "by host," with a long string of numbers; get those, as well.)
They are both in your Home Folder Library.
    Then restart.

  • Extremely slow startup/"Error loading kernel" when single user mode is run

My daughter's iMac has become very poorly responsive with a very slow startup time. It takes about 1 minute for the progress wheel to begin when I startup her machine. I can't picture what is doing this other than something missing or muxed, but perhaps it's time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.

  • Unmountable boot volume error blue screen

I have a toshibia laptop that has crashed, I am eventually getting the unmountable_boot_volume error blue screen, the recovery disks that i ordered will not work, just disk 1 loads windows file then goes to a black screen with the cursor pointer, computer repair does the same thing, os is windows 7 satellite c655d-s5120 64 bit the bios does show the hard drive name and the boot log is showing the last driver loaded is windows/system 32/drivers/atipcie.sys, can I order a recovery for the windows 7 or is there any other ideas to fix this?not sure why this is happening

If you've already ordered a set of recovery discs, you probably don't need to order another one. While it's possible that the discs are bad (and maybe you should call customer support just to see what they say), it's also possible that you have a hardware failure of some sort.

  • IPhone connects/charges on system boot up. When it gets to Windows 7 loading screen it disconnects.

    Hello to all who read,
I've usually used my iPhone with my iMac so perhaps that's the issue in itself. But now I've done away with my iMac and trying to connect and update my phones music library through the latest Windows iTunes. My iPhone refuses to connect to my laptop no matter which USB port I use. I've observed however it does connect to my laptop when it boots up and when it hits the Windows loading screen then it disconnects.
So I'm assuming there is something in the Windows set up that is making the iPhone disconnect when Windows loads. I've looked at multiple tutorials floating around but to no avail either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I desperately need to update my iPhones music.
    Cheers.

    Hi,
Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory.  Post back with the details of any error messages.
If both the above tests pass, try the following.
If you don't already have one, use another PC to create a Windows 7 Rescue CD.  Download the relevant ISO from the links below.
    Windows 7 32bit
    Windows 7 64bit
You should use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.  Once created, or if you already have this, insert the CD into the notebook and restart to boot from it.  Select the Repair option.
Select the 'Repair your Computer' option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run Start-up Repair – you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.
    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html
If the above fails to help, make a note of any error messages you may get during the procedure and include them with your next post.

  • "Error Loading Operating System" Message on startup. Need Help~~

    Hi Peoples,
I got the "Error Loading Operating System" message when restarting widows. Been pulling my hairs off the past few days looking for solutions, but with no dice. anyone have a solution??
I think the problem occurred when my computer got crashed, so I forced to turn off the computer buy hitting the power button, the next time I started the computer and it gives me a "Error Loading Operating system".
I have tried the recommendation from Microsoft by updated the bios. Didn't work.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326676
Other solutions that recommended from varied resources, recommanding to set the drive from LBA to Large. But I don't see that option in the Bios setup.. maybe because my HD's was setup as RAID 0?
and other recommended to use a startup disk boot into DOS and use the  fixboot/mbr to fix the mbr. But when I tried to boot with a startup disk I can't seems to find my C:\  (which is the RAID 0). How can can boot to the into the RAID?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Stu, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I think the bios is configured correctly and the Raid is configured as the way it use to be.
About the crashed, last time when I shutted down widow, using the Shut down button in the Start Menu, Window got got freezed and the power is still on, due to frustration I hit the Power button to turn off the computer, the next day I turn on the computer, and it gives me the error message.

PS: Is there a way to boot into the C: (Raid 0 drive) Using Dos? or maybe I can check the files is still in C drive? If the files are there, means the drives are OK? and Maybe I can use the "Fixboot" the problem? Please advise, again thanks for your help.

Hi, I'm getting "Error loading operating system" followed by the pc blinking _

i received the following message while i was on my macbook air "you do not have enough space in your start up disk - you must delete some files"-restarted; only got startup noise then blank screen. i waited for a few minutes to see if it would load - nothing just the lit up screen but nothing loaded - held power button it asked did i really want to turn off - i selected shutdown -turned off and left it off for awhile tried to turn on no noise no screen load. the same lit up screen but nothing loading.  please help thx in advance if anyone can offer some suggestions

You can get there from here (booting normally); it just may take you a few steps to do it.
If the disk is almost full and the system won't boot then sometimes it will boot in Safe Mode.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564?viewlocale=en_US
Empty the trash after it boots.
Then for hints on how to free disk/SSD storage see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5872318?tstart=0
If the Safe Mode boot does not do the trick then you can install OS X on an external hard disk, boot from that, and then delete files.  You can also reach the disk via Target Mode.  A third option is to take it to an Apple store where they can do a network boot and help you remove some files.

  • Slow Loading screen during boot up after a major update

Ever since I installed an update my mac has been taking forever to startup. Usually when I shut down the computer, and then maybe the next day turn it on, I hear the chime, and then the computer goes straight to a loading screen that takes forever to finish. I would say it takes about 15 minutes or less just to start up and get to the log in screen. Does anyone else have this problem? What do you think I should do to fix this? I just don't have time for a 15-20 min boot up. Who really does?

    Hello again:
If you want to restore your entire system from a Time Machine backup, the instructions are below:
Important: These steps will overwrite data with the same name in the same location, such as files on your desktop and in your Home folder.
Connect the external disk you've backed up to.
Start from your Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6 Install DVD. (Insert the disc, then restart and hold the C key.)
Select your language. Do not start an installation.
Choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
Select your internal Mac OS X disk that you want to restore to.
    Click the Restore tab.
Drag your internal disk to the "Destination:" field.
Click the "Image..." button next to the "Source:" field.
Navigate to the location of the backup image you want to restore (located on your external disk).
    Click "Open" to continue.
Click the "Restore" button. Confirm you want to "Restore to Disk" by clicking "Restore" again. This will replace data on your Mac OS X volume with data from your backup that has the same name and is in the same location.
Enter your admin name and password when prompted. If the backup disk image is encrypted, enter the disk image password if necessary. The time it takes to restore from the image depends on factors such as the amount of data on your backup disk image.
While the slow boot is occurring, you might want to look at the activity monitor to see what is going on...

  • Error loading OS (first boot-up, new system, freeze at boot-up)

I have built up a new system with:
    CPU: AMD3 Phenom II X4 945
    Board: MSI-7642 (890GXM-G65)
    Memory: DDR3 Dominator 2x2GB 1600Mhz
    Drive: SATAII 700GB Western Digital
I am using the onboard graphics card
I built the system up, turned it on and have the message:
    Error loading OS
(the system then freezes on that message)
at startup there is a single beep, the message "Error loading OS" is straight after the v890GXM-G65 splash. There is no BIOS message on the monitor, no RAM count, no chance to get into BIOS.
Basically immediately after the MSI splash the error message shows.
I would like to boot from my windows XP install CD and format the Hard-Drive and install Windows.
After reading similar messages in the Forum I will:
*reset the BIOS with the mainboard jumpers
*set the Harddrive to SATA-I speed with the jumpers
does anyone have any other suggestions?
I don't have another PC that I can format my Harddrive on; it was formatted before simply with one partition (not a boot partition) as a backup drive.
Seems to be a common problem, the "Error loading OS", pity MSI doesn't have a error code listing somewhere.

I managed to sort the problem out.
It seems that the BIOS system (Version 1.2) didn't accept hard drives when they are inappropriately formatted. It also had a problem with the USB Keyboard.
I managed to sort this out by connecting SATA Harddrive that was used in my pervious system, which had windows XP already installed on it. Surprisingly this was not only accepted by the BIOS, I didn't have to reinstall Windows or any programmes at all - although the previous system ran on a Gigabyte Board, with a 939 socket AMD processor!
Another problem was that my Keysonic Intuition-XL ACK-5600 USB2 keyboard wasn't accepted by the BIOS in the "new system state". Only after I had windows running, and the mainboard USB2 chipset drivers were installed in windows, was the USB2 keyboard accepted by windows or the BIOS. I couldn't connect a PS2 keyboard to the main board, because there is only one PS2 connector - which is taken be the mouse (more necessary for windows than a keyboard). Perhaps the BIOS had a problem with the keyboard, because it houses USB ports and audio connections.
    The conclusion:
*The MSI-7642 (890GXM-G65) mainboard only accepted a SATA drive with a primary bootable partition. I couldn't start up with a Installation CD and install any drive.
*The USB Keyboard didn't function during the BIOS boot until I installed the mainboard USB Chipset drivers in windows XP. This is strange, as normally the BIOS should be totally independent of the OS . The Keyboard itself doesn't need a windows driver.
;-))For a system builder it is advised to format SATA drives as primary bootable drives before building the system, and use a "simple" USB keyboard (with no electronic or ports), or better a PS2 Keyboard.
