Startup problem after restore in recovery mode

Hello,
My iPhone 5S stuck in apple logo and did not start to home screen. I found that the best solution is restore in recovery mode, but it did not work. my device started but made the apple logo loop. seems that it start and shot down. even the iTunes could not recognize it.
After two days of having this problem, disappointedly I put the wake up bottom and I saw that my iPhone started but in factory setting. Non of my data on it. I was happy until I made a restore to get back my data, apps, contacts, that the same problem of startup happened.
Can anybody help?

The backup data seems to be damaged, you'll have to start all over again without the latest backup, sorry.
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If you are using iTunes on the computer, there might be more than one backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, check the article mentioned above for more info. If there is, use this one to restore from, to get at least some settings and data back. If there is no other backup listed, your backup data can't be used anymore, sorry.

  • HT201263 After getting the recovery mode screen, I tried to restore my phone. But it was not working, it displays an error. Wat to do now?

My iPhone was a contract phone then. I used it in India by using gevey sim. After 6 months, I unlocked the phone by factory unlock. Then I upgraded my phone from 4.2.1 to 6.0.1, after that sometimes the carrier signal will not appear and a message "restore needed" appeared often. One day I realize that my flashlight was not working. After a week, again same message"restore needed" appeared. I just restarted my phone, it came to the recovery mode. I connected to iTunes to restore it, but it showed an error. What to do now?

Your problem is that you've hacked your phone to unlock it. Apple warns that if you do this things may not work properly or work at all. Unfortunately, there is no support for hacked iPhones here, per this forum's terms of use.
You'll have to go elsewhere for help.
    Good luck.

  • How to restore an Apple TV first generation if it does not factory restore in recovery mode?

The other day, while watching a movie, my Apple TV 1st gen just froze and became unresponsive to any remote control inputs. My intital attempts to just remove power and startup again failed and resulted in repeated crashes and renewed startups. On the discussions here ( Re: Apple TV 1st gen Factory Restore Problems ) I found out how to force restart by holding down the 'menu' key and the ' - ' key simultaneously. This brought me to the Recovery Menu.
Restart from there didn't work, only resulted in coming back to the recovery menu.
Diagnostics showed my Apple TV to be working normally.
Factory Restore immediately brought up a failure message that factory restore was not possible!
I tried this several times but always the same result. My trusted Apple TV first generation had mysteriously turned itself into a brick.
After searching the web and trying all kinds of things, I figured out how to save it. Here's how:
for reference, have a look at this webpage, but keep reading below: http://www.tweaking4all.com/home-theatre/appletv/restore-appletv-os-after-erasin g-disk/
you need a good size USB stick, mine was 4GB
the first method described didn't work for me, is time consuming, and you need an ethernet internet connection
however the second method described (no network needed) worked, but not with the file posted on the website (had wrong size)
download the disk image with the Apple OS from here: http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php?title=Restoring_the_Apple_OS
I downloaded the Apple OS v3.0.2 file, this proved to be working
If you're on a Mac, download and install the ApplePi-Baker application from here: http://www.tweaking4all.com/hardware/raspberry-pi/macosx-apple-pi-baker/
If you're not on a Mac, follow the instructions in the thread posted in 1.
Using the ApplePi-Baker, or the other methods, restore the disk image to the USB stick; be patient, this may take a while
Unpower your Apple TV, plug in the USB stick, power up your Apple TV
Your Apple TV will now boot up from the USB stick and will install the latest OS on its harddrive
When completed, remove power, remove USB stick, power up and hold down the 'menu' and ' - ' keys simulatenously, this will bring your Apple TV into Recovery mode
    Select Factory Restore
Your Apple TV will now factory restore to OS v 3.0.2
Note: This worked for me right away, but if not you may want to try the earlier OS version, see notes on the OpenElec Wiki page.
Good luck, and keep enjoying your Apple TV first gen!

Based on your suggestions, I've posted an additional article on how to do this ...
    http://www.tweaking4all.com/home-theatre/appletv/restore-appletv-os-offline-1stg en/
Also note that I fixed the issue with the corrupted IMG files .... the files on Tweaking4All.com now work as they are supposed to.
    Thanks again James!

  • IPod 1st Generation Touch- System Restore from Recovery Mode

My iPod Touch 1st Generation worked fine one day and the next day all it would do is disply the little white "Apple" and then go black.  It was fully powered.  I opened my Itunes account and connected the iPod. Nothing.  Then I saw on a previous discussion board to hold the power and home button at the same time while hook to my computer. A graphic of the usb cord and Itunes appeared, and the Itunes account recognized the device but said it was in "Recovery Mode" and in order to have it work again I would need to allow for a system restore.  So I did.  It seemed to go through the process and then tried to re-sync.  It has now been "syncing" for over an hour.  It is stuck.  I can not do anything, even if I disconnect the iPod from the computer.  I have no idea what to do, I am super frusterated. My iTunes account seems to be locked and have not made any progress with the iPod of getting past any other graphic other grapic besides the usb/iTunes picture.  Please help if possible.
Also, since it is a 1st generation, I recently upgrade the OS to the only allow upgade however, I am not sure which one it was.  This is the first problem I have had with my iPod.  Apologize for the lack of specifics.
    Thanks much in advance.

Close iTunes and disconnect the iPod from the computer. Reboot the computer. Then try to restore again.
    - Try as necessary:
    - A reset.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Placing the iPod in
    Recovery mode
    - Placing the iPod in DFU mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - Both those modes require that you turn the iPod fully off. If you can't do that let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the reset.and restore again.
    - If still not successful time for an appointment a the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPhone 5 Will Not Restore in Recovery Mode

    Hi everyone,
I am currently having a pretty serious problem with my iPhone 5 16GB (iOS7.0.2). Today, I discovered that my phone was "searching" for cell service despite being in an area with good coverage. This issue continued for 5 hours. I tried to turn it on/off, a hard reset, turning "airplane mode" on/off, and even tried to restore it! When I attempted to restore it however, iTunes told me that "Find my iPhone" had to be turned off. Then, I kept getting an error that there was a problem deregistering it from my iCloud account. Finally, I decided (after creating a full backup) to put the phone into recover mode and try to restore it that way. Not only, did I get an "error (1)", I attempted that FIVE times and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode. Hopefully, I can get it fixed or else I'll have to replace the thing.
    PLEASE HELP ME.
P.S. I might add that oddly, the phone still receives calls; my wife tried calling the phone, and it not only rings, it even goes to voicemail...

    Hey there Lorenzo Carunun,
It sounds like you are unable to restore your device with iTunes at all. You did some great troubleshooting to start with. I would recommend the steps in this article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting update and restore issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Verify that your computer operating system is up to date. If an update requires a restart, check for updates again after restarting.
On a Mac: In the Apple () menu, choose Software Update. Install all available updates.
On a Windows PC: Go to the Microsoft Windows Update page.
Check your security software: Note: Most restore issues are caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software, firewalls, and network router settings or firmware.
Isolate the issue to third-party software.
    Update security software.
    Properly configure your security software.
Temporarily disable or uninstall your security software.
Temporarily remove any unnecessary USB devices, leaving only your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, the USB cable that came with your device, and a keyboard and mouse, if necessary.
Restart your computer and try again.
Note: To perform some of these steps, you need to be logged in to the computer as an administrator. If you are not sure if you have administrator access, contact the owner of the computer or the system administrator.
You may have done a step or 2 already, so feel free to skip those steps you have done.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

OK I hve just had my iPad2 restored and backed up to perfect after a couple weeks of this mess.
Major thanks to Rose in Apple Support 2nd tier senior superstar for sticking with this issue to resolve
It worked for me today after doing this 10-15 times previous - I beleive some server settings were adjusted and ow we are good to go!
    to fix:
    1. delete the ipsw file from ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates
    2. put the device into recovery mode by powering it off with the plug in the device, hold the home button while plugging into the computer.
    3. unplug the device while the download is coming down unless its less than 5 min.
    4. put the device in recovery mode again
    5. restore the device

  • "iTunes was unable to verify your device" after succesfully completing recovery mode on iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4 which has never caused me any problems, until i updated to iOS7 it started lagging and battery didn't even last until midday (having it charged 100% in the morning!).
In just a few days it turned off automatically and wouldn't turn on. I googled and solved it by pushing the two buttons together for about 10 seconds. iPhone revived, and all the data was intact though many people states it would've been erased.
The morning after, using my iPhone more carefully not to have it crash again, it crashed. 10 seconds wouldn't do and I gave up, until the day after I found by surprise that the battery had run out and it finally showed some sign of not being completely dead!
I connected the cable to iTunes and pushed the Home button before connecting the iPhone and it entered Recovery mode. Recovery mode was completed and the iPhone had to restart to complete the process. While completing I get the error message "iTunes was unable to verify your device, please disconnect and reconnect your device". And from here I don't get anywhere, so I will probably visit Apple Store and ask what can be done, but if anyone has had the same problem please share any possible solution to this problem!

I had to contact Apple Store and make an appointment. They tried the last step suggested (which I had already tried three times) and stated that the memory had failed. They said it probably failed due to having some small issue already on the phone and then updating to a new iOS.
They could only offer me an exact copy of my iPhone but new for 149€.

  • Startup Problems After Upgrade to 10.4.8

Six weeks ago I upgraded my RAM by adding a 1Gb chip, and after checking to see that the added memory was recognized, I installed OS X 10.4.6 from my purchased DVD. I was then prompted to update to 10.4.8. For the first three weeks I used my iMac G5 with no problems. Then, with no apparent changes having been made, I began having Startup problems with my iMac. Every Statup go like this after pushing the Power button:
    1) I get alternatively a black screen or the gray Apple screen frozen
    2) I use the Power button to Shut Down, then Start with the Power button and get the gray Apple screen with cascading text error messages
    3) I Shut Down and Start as in 2 while holding the Option-Command-P-R and get Desktop, but my applications repeatedly Quit Unexpectedly (Safari, Explorer, iTunes, etc.)
    4) I Restart from the Apple Menu and get the Desktop and my applications usually work without Quitting.
I tried re-installing from my OS X 10.4.6 DVD (Archive and Install), but I get errors when the Installer gets to Prepare the Disk. Can anyone tell me what else I can do, or do I need to contact Apple Support?? Thanks,
    ktanzoak

  • Time Machine problem after restoring to a new HD (after my original HD failed)

I am running Lion 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro Late '11
My HD was getting SMART errors, so I did a complete back up using Time Machine using a WD My Passport 1TB external, and then sent my MBP to Apple for HD replacement (under my Applecare plan).
I collected it yesterday and restored my system using Time Machine (using the data from my external HD) and everything was restored perfectly, which was great,
However, I'm now encountering a problem after plugging my external HD back into my MBP on the new system. Rather than Time Machine doing a swift 'top up' back up, it appears that TM is attempting to do a full back up. (I have 300GB and it took nearly 24hours to backup on the faulty drive) Is this normal after installing a new HD? Bearing in mind the Time Machine data is still on my external drive?
It's also appearing to be taking FOREVER to do this entire back up again. It is stuck on 'preparing back up' and when I do get some movement, it's doing a couple of KB's at a time and with no genuine back up progress.
Fundamentally, I just want to just top up my Time Machine back up without having do a complete back up, again. (which doesn't actually seem possible, viable at the min)
Any help / support would be much appreciated

AFAIK, it'll do that since the HD has a different UUID and the old TM backup won't recognize it. See Pondini's TM FAQs, for starters.

  • Kernel Panics on startup and when starting in recovery mode

I have a brand new Mac mini late 2014 right out of the box (2.8ghz, 8gb ram, fusion drive)
Upon initial startup the computer froze with a spinning wheel of death during the setup process and then restarted with a kernel panic. Hoping someone might have some insight or can understand any of this panic report. Thanks in advance for any help.
