Startup with Green Lamp for camera on - no image possible

Greetings,
I have a situation that is peculiar - A new white Macbook, 3 days old, at various times when you turn the computer on, the green lamp next to the built it web camera at the top of the LCD display lights up for no apparent reason. There is no video that works in Photo Booth or iChat AV.
If you shut the computer down, not log off and back on again, but shut it down, it will likely work the next time. It's not a devastating issue, but it can be annoying.
The Apple folks in this area have not heard of it yet. I will call Apple care if I have to, but I have little time to spend on hold.
This is the first real issue of any kind that I have had with a Mac in 15 or more years. I'd appreciate any ideas at all along these lines. Thanks.

Does this also happen after you put the mac to sleep?
If it doesn't occur after a sleep I would just use sleep instead of a complete shut down. I had a similar issue, it just went away after a software update.
You can also try to start the mac and hold the shift key when you hear the boot chime and release it when you see the spinning wheel on your display. Restart the mac, after the start up is complete, as usual. It could help.

The logfile shows 1 fatal error:
FATAL: Payload 'Photoshop Camera Raw 8_8.7_AdobeCameraRaw8.0All 8.0.0.22 with a number following.
I have tried to uninstall an reinstall. Did not work at all, because the same Problem is shown.
I did not install in other folders. All other updates worked - but not this update. The problem seems to bee only caused by the Camera Raw Update.
Are there others with the same Problem? Any ideas?

it seems that i have found a dirty, but working solution for my problem on this site: Getting fatal Exit Code 34 when installing an app
To change these 3 folder names and reinstalling of my Programs worked fine without any errors:
Adobe PCD -> Adobe PCDold
backup -> backupold
caps -> capsold
Now the Programs are on the actual status with all updates included and everythings seems to be fine.

We like to use our ipads in the school. This works already very well. Sharing documents, presentation, ebooks ...
We also like to use our ipads at the exams.
The school will alow this as far we can guarantee that there are no images takes and no communication inside or outside the room (3G, Wifi, Bluetooth).
Is there any way (or app) who can stop the camera and the communication.
My idea is that at the start of the exams the teacher can deactivate camera and communication and look it with a code.
Very similar to the limitation apple allready can give with code look, but unfortunataly only for camera and bluetooth.
The ipads are all private and not school ipads.

Yes there is a way to lock the above mentioned things.
You even don't need an App for that.
You simply go to:
Settings > General > Restriction
In the restriction settings you can enable/disable apps or everything else on your iOS.
The teacher then could give it a code that you cannot change the settings he/she made.

In order for the AirPort Utility to "find" your AirPort Express, your utility's host must be connected to the same network that the Express is on. When you posted that it was "installed in my existing network," what exactly did you configure the Express for? That is, is it configured to join an existing network or to extend it?

After installing the latest update to itunes, and my ipod, I can no longer sync my computer and my ipod nomatter what I do. I have tried everything I know and can read. I am beginning to think it has something to do with the password that I changed, but I tried to change it back and nothing happens. Does anybody have any suggestions. I have been working on this for three hours and I can't figure it out? Apple is no help and it was their updates that messed the whole thing up.

The new version of GarageBand is only compatible with 10.9 and above.
If your Mac can run MacOS X 10.6.8, it probably can be upgraded to Yosemite, if you don't have to stick to Snowleopard for other reasons.
Is it possible to still get the older version?
Amazon or eBay are still selling iLife '11 installer disks, and you could reinstall GarageBand from these DVDs. But it will be expensive.
Have you checked your backups, if you can restore GarageBand from a backup?
OR, can I get another copy of the startup CD that came with my computer so that I can reinstall GarageBand?
Sometimes the AppleStore Support will replace missing installer CDs for a fee.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Thank you very much for your reply gdgmacguy :) I did all you suggested apart from restore as new device . Didn't know I could do that . After restore I did restore from back up only, as I didn't want to end up without contacts details on my phone. If I restore as new device how do I get my all contacts? Still will have to use back up? Sorry if it sounds like I don't know what i am doing, i just have no one to ask who would know. Thank you

I am putting together a proposal for a Final Cut Pro Workstation to use with a tapeless HD camera. Can anyone suggest the best camera (in the 5-10,000 dollar range) ? What hardware and software should I include in the package?

This is quite an open suggestion, but here are some ideas which might get you started. There are good HD cameras in your price range from Sony, Panasonic and Canon (and maybe other manufacturers). Tapeless formats vary. I have only worked with Sony XDCAM which seems pretty good to me. File sizes for material shot at 35MBS are not too huge and, with the free Sony transfer and conversion programme, are easy to bring into the computer via USB direct from the camera or from a fairly inexpensive converter. The Sony XDCAM EX3 can produce results well up to broadcast quality.
As to hardware, you'll need a powerful MAC - iMac, Macbook Pro or MacPro with 4GB or more of RAM and a good video card. Softwarewise, FCPX is quite a bit cheaper than FC Studio 3 and of course it's 64bit and can make better use of multi-core machines than FCP7. It's also designed to handle HD formats with less hassle than FCP7 and is matched to the latest versions of Motion and Compressor. But you'd probably be wise to search reviews of FCPX before you make your choice - it has some issues.
A good HD monitor will be essential and, for colour correction etc, you may want to consider a second monitor or HD TV foe editing. ( A MacPro is generally the best machine to connect a second monitor to).
This should give you a good editing system, but there are many other things you could add (Photoshop, professional sound monitors, etc)

Best video camera to use with iMove '11 for iMac

I'm looking for the best video camera with no difficulties for iMovie. Just to be able to plug in the camera with out having to load additional software or any other difficulties.
Or if any one else knows what type of file format is specifically needed for macs? MPG4 or AVI?

In my opinion, the camera will work with iMovie '11, HOWEVER....
I have a Canon SX30IS bridge camera [that is, not a camcorder], and the HD videos work absolutely fine on iMovie with one - for me - important problem.
As my camera is also not supported, when any number of short video files are loaded in together, iMovie will not understand the sequence they were taken in, and MAY load them in a fairly random order into a project.
This is not a problem where one or two files are concerned, but where there are more, it can be a major problem if you want them used in sequence.
You either have to load them into the project one by one, manually, or be able to identify clearly from the thumbnails which is which, or the order will be all wrong. It IS possible to relate what you see as a thumbnail back to the original file, but only one file at a time, so you can't use the thumbnails to work out the order, if the images shown don't do that for you.
I have used videos from 5 unsupported digital cameras, and even an 8mm cine conversion file quite successfully, so I have no doubt that the Nikon will also work.
