Startup without programs

Windows 2012 r2 Hyper-V Dell R710 starts up in safe mode fine but with normal startup it comes to logon and after authenticating powers down. I suspect some UPS software installed on the host machine just before this started is the fault. I have a Windows
2012 R2 Essentials server and one Windows 8.1 Pro running perfectly as guests and I do have a full Altaro backup of the guests.
Is there a way I can come up as command prompt and then see what programs are on the host and delete them? I can get to Command prompt only but don't know how to get to programs to remove. Thanks
Guzzifrank

You can do this from Safe Mode boot using this tool.

  • Upload table with a flat file Once - without program

    Hello,
    I know that it is possible to upload a Z table from a flat file. (without program)
    I do not have a problem with this table. I manage a  maintenance view (SM30) and I can thus enter one by one a recording in this table and to put it in an transport request(R3TR-TABU)
    I would like to enter all the recordings only one (with a file.)
    I know that it is possible... but how???
    Thank you to help me.

  • Piiip Piiip trying to startup without extensions...

    The other day I tried to startup without extensions (I tried to rebuild a hard disk, but the Disk Warrior said the disk is in use and that the solution is restart without extensions), I press the shift key then a piiip piiip sounds in the G4 for twice and then the disk with ? appears in the screen.
    Also when I tried to start with a CD pressing the c key...
    What can be????
    I startup withtout pressing any key and the Mac goes OK.

    Hi, xjulia -
    This Apple KBase article indicates those beeps point to a RAM problem -
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58442
    Why that would occur when booting with Extensions Off and not normally is odd.
    Try reseating the RAM modules - one or another may not be fully seated in its socket.
    You can also download and run DIMM First Aid, which can provide some basic tests of RAM modules, and even repair coding on some which are a bit under spec -

    Another way to try booting to a CD is to put the CD in the drive, then open Startup Disk control panel. If the CD is bootable, the OS on it should appear there and be selectable. Do that, then restart.
    If it balks at booting to the CD after restarting, you can switch the machine back to booting to the OS on the hard drive by zapping the PRAM.

    I found the solution by myself: just remove the "%u" of the yakuake command entry and uncheck korganizer from autostart applications in preferences

  • HT201250 my mac froze on a grey screen after i tried to login so i tried a safe boot, but now  i am stuck in the startup utilities program and i cant get out of it

    My mac froze and wouldnt startup because it was forced to sleep while a complex program was running, and simply ended up on a blank grey screen, and this happened upon every startup. so then i tried to use a safe boot but this ended me up on the startup utilities thing. i have realised that none of the options: restore from time machine backup, reinstall osx mountain lion, and repair disk are available to help me startup, and i cant select a startup disk either as it says none are available. so i am stuck on this program and it reapears every time i restart or shutdown and reboot, so i cant do anything. Please is there any way i could either quit startup utilities or get back to my computer desktop as i have lots of non-backed up image and video files that i cant afford to lose. please help!

    Maybe this will help.

  • Can I run a .bat, .cmd, or .ps1 on SBS 2011 server startup, without login.... like a service.

    Hi all,
    I'm running Windows SBS 2011.  I need to run a script at server startup, prior to login to any user account (like a service does...).  This short script will check the status of another service.  Because this
    service depends on Exchange & SQL, it sometimes fails to start at reboot if Exchange and or SQL Server haven't finished initializing.
    I was also thinking of using sc.exe to change the config of the service in question (adding dependencies), but this is a third-party software from Reuters, and I am somewhat reluctant to edit the configuration of someone else's code (and possibly break something).
    This is a production server at a law firm.
    here's the script:
    start of listing
    =============================================
    @echo off
    rem Look for ProLaw Groupware Agent in running Services.
    rem check to see if ProLaw Groupware Agent is running. If it IS
    rem running, jump to exit-program label, else run the Agent after
    rem waiting for Microsoft Exchange & Microsoft SQL Server to start.
    rem =======================================
    :start
    C:\Windows\system32\sc query "ProLawGroupwareAgent" | find "RUNNING" >> c:\temp\plgwagentstatus.txt
    if errorlevel 0 goto :end
    rem wait 10 min after server startup,
    rem to (Allow Exchange & SQL to start)
    rem THEN, start ProLawGroupwareAgent
    rem ========================
    echo "Service not started.... Let's wait 10 minutes, and retry." >> c:\temp\plgwagentstatus.txt
    c:\
    timeout /t 600 > nul
    cd "\Program Files (x86)\ThomsonElite\ProLaw GroupwareAgent"
    net start AgentHostService.exe
    timeout /t 20 > nul
    goto :start
    :end
    =============================================
    end of listing

    What I do in this case (I don't have access to exact script I use) is a similar script scheduled via windows task scheduler every five minutes to check if service running, if not start it but you can have the IF-THEN-ELSE do whatever is required.

  • I have a macbook pro 10.6.8. My question is, is there a way to bypass the startup items (programs) when booting the computer?

    I perform music with my Macbook pro.  so I have several music applications that startup automatically when the computer boots. they look for the audio interface that they are supposed to talk to and then everything is good.  but sometimes I boot my computer when it is not connected to the audio interface and this breaks the conncetion link between the music applications and the audio interface.  If the is a way to bypass (turn off) the startup items as I boot the computer when it is not connected to the audio interface, then I'd no longer have this problem.  is there a way to do so?

    This is a third party software problem you need to contact the developer to fix, perhaps they already have a update and you need to apply it.
    Nothing should "break" if it's not connected to hardware as with portables people are always connecting and disconnecting.
    If it's breaking the connection between two other pieces of software then it's poorly designed.
    Some hardware + software combinations are meant for pernament desktop installations as a integrated system, not for portables.
    The only case I can think of that software won't work without the hardware attached if the hardware is a form of content protection, that it won't run without the dongle etc., attached.

  • NSP ABAP Automatic Startup without logging on

    I have the ABAP trial version loaded on a standalone PC.
    I access the NSP system remotely, and rarely log onto the NSP system directly.
    Is there a way I can configure the system so that the NSP Server is automatically started at system startup, rather than when I log on?
    Many thanks
    Jack

    Hi Markus,
    Thank you for the suggestion, but the startup folder is only executed when you log in, just as the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run is also only run at logon.
    I was looking for a way to start it automatically after the system boots without the logon requirement.
    Kind Regards

  • Auto startup of programs

    My imac os10.5 auto loads microsoft word when logging on. I am using parental controls and have gone on to the administrator and made sure there are no startup programs listed. But when I log on to student it starts up Word. How can I turn this off? Help

    Richard,
    Quick way would be to log into the user in question, ctrl click on Word and select "Open at Login" make sure that its not checked. If that doesn't work open System Preferences -> Accounts -> Select Account in Question -> Login Items (tab), remove Word.
    Hope that helps,

  • Skype 7.6 disabling autorun startup without signing in

    With the new 7.6 skype you cannot disable autorun from the install options, you cannot disable autorun from msconfig, you cannot disable autorun unless you log in and disable. As a technician I install Skype on every machine I format, but I have it disabled to keep startup times slow. So now, it's either adding back the feature to disable autorun in the installer, or me not installing it altogether anymore, unless there's a way to disable it that I missed, that *does not involve signing in*.

  • Mount external HD on startup - without user log in

    Hi. Does anyone know how to set up OSX 10.4.11 so the computer automatically mounts an external firewire hard drive on startup? I'd like to be able to access a firewire drive over my home network without having to first log into the target computer. Thanks.

    Try this:
    sudo defaults write \
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount \
    AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin -bool true
    Copy and paste these three lines into a terminal window from an account that has admin access. This command should mount all "findable" drives.
    I got it from this site: http://blog.reverycodes.com/archives/000042.html

  • Pismo won't startup without resetting PMU

    Hi
    I have a 400MHz G3 powerbook with 256MB RAM running Mac OS 10.3.9 very successfully. My problem is that if I shut it down it won't complete startup again unless i reset the pmu (holding down the reset button on the back panel for 3 secs) every time. It does the chime but the screen doesn't come on. The main battery is good (it lasts 2 hours or so) and as far as i can tell the PRAM battery is good too (i tested the voltage across it and it reads 6.77 volts or 3.39 volts depending which of the 3 connections you read). I tried charging the PRAM battery without the main battery installed and it didn't go up at all so i assume it's fully charged.
    Anything else i could try?
    thanks

    mrbump,
    There are two or three hardware components that can cause this issue:
    - The most common is a failed backside L2 cache. When booted to 10.3.9, see if the System Profiler reports 1MB of cache. If you have a bootable 9.x CD or 9.x on the HD, first shut down, then boot to 9.x. If there is a problem with L2 cache, you will get a dialogue during startup; this test does not run through a restart.
    - The other two possibilities are a bad CPU or logic board and I do not know how to determine this.
    If you have your Hardware Test CD that came with new Pismos, give it a run.

  • How to mount one of two external drives on startup without login

    I have a Mac Mini that runs as a server on my network.  It has two external USB drives attached: one contains documents, and the other is a TimeMachine backup of the server.  Neither disk mounts on a machine on the network until a user interactively logs in, but I would like one of them to be mounted at startup of a MacBook Pro on the network running OS X Mavericks 10.9.3.
    The following script was suggested at <https://discussions.apple.com/message/5770284#5770284> in response to a desire to mount all external FireWire drives running under OS X 10.5 Leopard:
    You can do this with the following command (note: it will ask for your admin password):
    sudo cat >/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount.plist <<"EOF"
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin</key><true/>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    EOF
    I have two questions about this command:
    1.  Is it valid for OS X Mavericks 10.9.3?
    2.  Can it be modified to mount only one of the external disks attached to the server (the one containing documents)?
    Thanks in advance for your kind assistance with these questions.
    Best wishes,

    I can now confirm this file
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount.plist
    does automatically get created on Mavericks Servers but not on non-Server Mavericks machines. It is possible to create it on non-Server Mavericks machines and reports are this works as expected.
    Obviously the fact it is created automatically by Server.app on Mavericks servers means Mavericks still supports this.
    Rather than hand-editing the file as per the original tip the following will achieve the same goal but will result in a binary format plist file which is what Server.app would create.
    sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin -bool true
