Static & Crackiling Noise in Background

Hi,
I am recording some vocals and after recording I export to itunes. When I playback, there is a constant cracking noise every one second or so.
I have an imac G5 and am just using the built in microphone. Are there some settings I need to adjust to avoid this?
Thanks

If the last bar in any of GB's meters lights up it means you're "Clipping" and it will sound like that. Could this be the problem?

  • Static audio noise during a call

    Hello,
Few days ago I bought Z3 compact and all works fine but one thing. I hear static audio noise (ssshhhhh) when speaker is activated - for example when i make a call or if i play music/video and turn volume down/off. I would like to know if this is normal on Z3 compact or i should go to service? I tried some other phone brands and there is absolutely no static noise on them. Can someone confirm me if he does/doesn't experience this? Btw. volume of that noise is not huge, just enough to annoy you during a call. Thx.
    Regards.

Hi. Just an update on subject. I took the phone to the repair service and they said all is normal - so they are telling me that background sound noise in earspeaker is a normal thing on a top model worth 500 EUR. Great. This really deserves detail sound review to be made via YT video. I will analyze amount of sound noise with sound editing software and publish video. Then we will see how normal all this is. Btw. same problem is described also here:

  • Static or noise

I am able to make calls from my iPhone and hear the other person fine, but they are complaining of a lot of static and noise on their end. I am in full signal from AT&T... so is the microphone on the iPhone going? Is there a setting to adjust it? It is almost like the microphone picks up more background noise and is not picking up my voice as the primary. Any thoughts?

I'm having a static problem too. Only I hear the static and the sound fades out but the person on the other end of the call doesn't hear it. AT&T says the sim card needs replacement, but I find that odd given that the other person in the house is having the problem on her AT&T service and she doesn't have an iPhone. Any suggestons?

  • Static crackling noise, Right speaker when audio is being played

I recently purchased this Satellite C50D-A Windows 8 Laptop. I have had it for less than 3 months. Recently the right speaker has started acting up with some sort of high pitched static crackling noise whenever audio is played regardless of it being in a web browser or any other media. Even computer sounds are distorted from this. I typically use this computer for school and play music to study. How the hell can I fix this so I can actually listen to audio without this rather irritating issue?

I tried that and it didnt seem to do much of anything.
I played part of a song on spotify and recorded it to perhaps give you an example of what it sounds like?
I covered the left speaker so most of what you hear is the right speaker alone. The distortion is pretty clear when audio comes out of that speaker.

  • Wi-fi Calling (or Wifi Calling) static interference noise through Bluetooth

I have been hearing nothing but static interference noises every 4-5 seconds on my 5c whenever I am talking to my girlfriend on her 2009 Volvo S40 2.4i. She is using a 5s via Bluetooth when driving and I have Wi-Fi Calling enabled on my 5c while at home. Turning off Wi-Fi Calling eliminates the noise but I get disconnected due to poor service reception with T-MOBILE. This was the BIGGEST feature that I have been looking forward to but it has let me down!

I would suggest to you, and to the previous poster JeffMasters, to PM Peter (Toshiba rep) with your serial number and a link to this post so he knows what it's about.  Sometimes resolving a problem requires you to have to take the innitiative.

  • Static popping noise

Recently I've been experiencing an annoying static popping noise while listening to iTunes. It sounds almost like a click. It has been occuring on songs that were fine before. I also noticed it in Garageband and when I play DVDs. I can also hear it on CDs I burn off iTunes.

I get this same thing. The songs randomly spit and hiccup, no matter what the volume. I just did a test through quicktime playing some songs, but it didn't happen. Has to be Itunes. It's very minor but happens all the time is enough to be annoying. Did you ever resolve this?

  • How to measure static phase noise by N4440A spectrum analyzer

Hi, i am new in the RF measurement, and i have to measure the static phase noise, stray and pulse modulation of a DUT, please explain me how to use the spectrum analyzer (N4440A) for this purpose. It will be very helpful for me if you explain the steps for the measurement. Thanks and best Regards

    Hi Ikram!
This is Peter Erskine in Applications Engineering. I was not able to find any information on a N4440A Spectrum Analyzer. However, I was able to find information on a E4440A spectrum analyzer. This is a spectrum analyzer developed by Agilent, and you can find the user manual here.
If you are looking to use this spectrum analyzer in LabVIEW, National Instruments has the E4440A instrument driver page that will help you out. If you have any additional questions about how to use LabVIEW with this analyzer, please let me know. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
However, if you are looking to get help on the spectrum analyzer itself (without the use of LabVIEW), I would suggest contacting Agilent's technical support either by phone or on their forums for additional information.
    Have a great day!

  • New P67A-C45 (B3) - Static/hissing noise almost in sync with HDD sound

I just bought a new New P67A-C45 (B3), fixed everything up, installed the realtek sound driver then i start to hear the static/hissing noise from my speakers.
The noise seems to be in sync with the HDD activity.
I research online and it seems that not only I have this problem, quite a few people having the same sound chipset on a Gigabyte board are also facing the same problem.
But all solutions is in the direction of mac, stating that a v262 driver have solved the problem.
Anyone got any idea about this? I am rally very irritated with the static/hissing noises coming from the audio..

Have a look in your manual of the included accessories with your mainboard. Note the 'Back I/O Plate'.
For this I think you all are talking about the back panel right? One of the tabs is touching the exterior of the ethernet port. I assume it should be correct?

What they mean is you need to remove the graphics card and unplug the cables from the motherboard and remove the motherboard itself, check the grounding screws (The screws that the mobo sits on and in to which you screw the mobo screws into to hold it down) and make sure that all of them match the holes on the mobo, if there are any that don't match Remove the standoff because it is causing the improper grounding you are experiencing. If you are missing any ("only using two"?) and have standoffs laying around, add the standoffs to the holes that fit.
I did this just last night and it fixed my reboot problem after I had done everything via bios and OS to try and solve it.
Done as well. The base plate in my casing for the motherboard was just fitting for it. I do not need any stand-offs, there were six bumps that align with screw holes nicely.

  • Chromium + pepper flash + pulseaudio = static/crackling noise.

With pulseaudio and chromium+pepper flash from the AUR I get static/crackling noise in the audio. If I disable pulse and just use alsa I don't receive any static/crackling noise... Is there any way to fix it?

Did you already play with the "tched=0 option" and the other pointers mentioned in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=164959 ?

  • *Important--iPhone4s Static/Crackling Noise

    All,
There seems to be an increasing number of complaints coming in of iPhone 4s static/crackling noise coming from the phone when placing calls.  I personally had the same problem on an iPhone received 10/14.  Replacement devices seem to be having similar problems.  Here are the following symptoms:
-Very intrusive and abnormal crackling/static noise can be heard through the ear piece while on a call. More obvious in a quiet room.
-When call ends, the sound can STILL be heard coming from the back of the phone. Which means the source of the noise may be coming from there?
-Atleast one person noted that the noise can be stopped by shorting out the signal by placing hand over two top antenna bands forcing a "switch".
-Replacement devices are having same symptoms.
Is anyone NOT having the the symptoms described on the new iPhone4S?

Me and my girlfriend both got 4S's at the same time. Hers is on a Canadian carrier called Bell, mine is with Telus. Her phone does not have any of the crackling noise. My phone, whenever I made a call, would create a horrendus crackling through the earpiece before connecting the call. Sometimes, the caller would not be able to hear me. I also experienced the same crackling as everyone during a call, and even had to hang up a few times because it got so bad. I called my provider for an unrelated issue, but was able to demonstrate the issue to the tech. She had never heard of this, but suggested it might be a SIM Card or Hardware issue. I was inclined to agree. So after I got off the phone I proceeded to remove and replace my SIM. At first I turned my phone off, took it out, booted up the phone, and replaced it. The noise was now even louder than before. !@#$! So, I took it out again with the phone on, blew in the SIM slot, and ensured that the SIM stayed completely in the tray when inserting it. Voila, no more static. I suggest everyone give this a try before blowing up Apple. It could be you're SIM's were hastily inserted and causing some kind of short out interference. Hope this helps someone else!
TLDR: Take out your SIM Card with the phone on, blow in the SIM slot, and ensure that the SIM stays completely in place and in the tray when inserting it. • Fixed line static/crackling noise

Hello All Just want to see what ppl's opinions are on where to go from here. I've been a having a problem with static/crackling noise on the fixed line for about 2 months now.  When Tech No. 1 came out, he said he changed something at the pillar, which is located somewhere between my house and the exchange. After he left, I got a text message saying the line test was ok. But it wasn't really ok, but I left it to see if there were any improvements. Fast forward to two months later, I noticed the noise was just as bad. So I reported the fault online and got a call from a lady the next day saying the fault would be investigated and repaired within x number of days. Then on Sunday, Tech No. 2 came out to my house without any notice at all. He too said that he changed some part. The line was actually ok when he called my home number using his mobile. But today, the noise is back. Should I report the fault again and hopefully one day Telstra might actually replace the line? What do ppl here think? Thanks.

If it's within 14 days of the callout by the engineer, you should be able to get an engineer out on the same incident. Definitely call, and have it checked. I asume you have filters, and no doubt they've told you that "if the problem is on your equipment then you pay the cost" etc etc So it's obviously outside your premises, and there may be something seriously going wrong on the lines/exchange if it's simply not lasting.

  • GT70 2PE Dominator Pro increasing static/white noise during different games.

    Hello.
I'm quite in a predicament here. I have an MSI GT70 2PE Dominator gaming laptop.
Every time I play a game[doesnt matter which one, ones demanding high specs and also with games that can run on toasters :p ] after a couple of minutes I start hearing this increasing static, white noise coming from my speakers or headset. After a couple of moments it also sort of disables my microphone as well. IE When in in VoiP while playing a game, after the noise increases my mic also stops working.
I tried everything I could think of. Reinstall drives, format the laptop, all the little advice people give in other threads about this kind of problem. I also sent it into repairs and they said it was fixed but alas it still isnt. I tried using different power adapters and that doesnt seem to make a difference.
One interesting thing is that when I just play on batter power - no issues at all. As soon as I plug in the adapter - the noise start building up again.
Anyone has any ideas what might help?

  • Static/crackling noise in earbuds

I have a strange static/crackling noise in my earbuds (plugged into my iMac) when I have my iPod touch connected to the computer. It stops when I turn off the iPod completely or plug it out (not when I put the iPod touch to sleep). How can I get rid of the noise, it's pretty loud...

u cant get rid of the white noise, its common among all stereo devices, its just amplified on the touch. I say: just live with it.
