Static electric on the new iPad when charging

When I'm charging the new iPad, touching on the back cover will give static electric. Would it damage the device in long run?

Was gifted an Ipad missing an AC Adapter and cable. Bought new cable and adapter. Made the mistake of buying and using a 5 Volt adapter. Made the mistake of using the Ipad when it was being charged (plugged into the electric outlet). Made the mistake of returning and picking up the Ipad after walking across a rug. Blew out that 5 Volt adapter which no longer would charge another suitable (5 Volt correct) device. Bought 10 Volt adapter which would not charge my Ipad as well.
iOS devices charge of USB specification that means 5 Volts ONLY.
A 10 Volt charger would damage the device.
I believe you are confusing Watts & Volts.
Many USB chargers have a higher amperage (that means they can supply more current, not Volts). That translates to more Watts (overall power output).
It allows iPads to charge faster because they have more battery to fill.
The standard iPad charger is 10Watts (the spec isn't visible on Apple.com, so this is from external sources).
iPhones usually have chargers that supply 5Watts
The safest option…
Use an Apple charger that is rated for the device… as you can see Apple sell 5 Watt & 12 Watt supplies for iPads
http://store.apple.com/us/ipad/ipad-accessories/power (search for iPhone chargers etc).
None of this helps you speedgo, sorry. I don't know if static could cause issues. I would move it to another wall outlet, try other rooms - if it still happens take it to an Apple store & ask them for advice it may also happen at the store if the device or charger is faulty.

I have the new ipad when I connect to my pc I do not find the videos and photos

What OS do you have on your PC ? I assume that the video was taken with the iPad - if it was originally synced to the Photos app from a computer then you will need to use a third-party app such as Simple Transfer to copy it off, you can't copy off synced photos/videos via the camera wizard.
If it was taken with the iPad and you have XP on your PC then large videos may not be recognised by the windows camera wizard . If the camera wizard isn't recognising the video then you could try copying it from the iPad manually :
Note: Windows XP cannot import video files larger than 500 MB using Camera and Scanner Wizard. You can transfer these files directly from your device by selecting them in My Computer and dragging or copying the movie files to your computer's hard drive.
If you find that not all your photos were imported from your device's Camera Roll after performing the above steps, you can either copy the photos to your computer using Windows Explorer, or you can use additional software such as Windows Live Photo Gallery or Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 or later to import all pictures.
To copy the photos to your computer using Windows Explorer:
Connect the iOS device to the computer.
    Choose Start > My Computer.
Double-click the logo for the device to browse its camera folders.
    Navigate to [iOS device]\Internal Storage\DCIM\100APPLE.
Manually copy the content in this folder to your computer, wherever you would like to store it.
Disconnect your device. Open the Camera Roll and manually delete all the pictures from the iPhone Camera Roll that you just imported.

  • How many hours needed to charge the new iPad when connected to the wall outlet.

How many hours needed to charge the new iPad wifi 16 gb?
Yesterday it was my first time to charge and it takes around 8 hours (it was not on wifi& not on working any application)
when connected to the wall power outlet using the supplied charger, dock and the USB wire.
I,ll be waiting for urs reply.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. hi am looking to purchase the mew ipad when on holiday in vegas can anyone tell me if i can use a british sim in it thanks

Using a UK SIM suggests that you will be accessing 3G data in the States using your UK card.  The cost of this is likely to be horrendous.  Advice: DON'T use a UK SIM abroad for data access, buy a local SIM at your destination and top it up as necessary.  Example: my local telco charges me 1p/Mb for 3G data at home; if I roam in Europe they charge £3.58/Mb.

  • Is Tax Inclusive or exclusive in the new iPad when buying in the USA?

I am buying The New iPad. i just wanted to know that is Tax inclusive in the Unlocked Version of Wifi + 4G, 32 GB. (the Price is $729)

    Hawaii
Hawaii does not have a sales tax per se, but it does have a gross receipts tax (called the General Excise Tax) and a Use Tax which apply to nearly every conceivable type of transaction (including services), and is technically charged to the business rather than the consumer. Hawaii law allows business to pass on the tax to the consumer in similar fashion to a sales tax.
All of the states that you list, with the exception of New Hampshire, don't have a state sales tax, but many of the cities in those states do have a sales tax.

  • Videos cropped on the new iPad

On the new iPad when I add video it keeps cropping the top and bottom off. Because of this from the shoulders up on most of my videos are cut off as well as about the shin level. Is there a way to fix this? If not this is a major blow to how I felt about paying for this app. Reading about it was about everything I wanted in an app, but how can I make movies and such with no heads?

Are you shooting the videos vertical (tall)?
iMovie edits video for TVs, so can only handle videos that are wide, and can only export wide.
This is a limitation that is not specifically said in the literature as far as I can tell.
If you bought the app recently, you can ask for a refund:
First, open iTunes and select the iTunes Store link in the left-hand column
Near the top right corner, click the arrow next to your user name (email address) and then selectAccount
About half way down the screen, click the Purchase History button
In the bottom portion of the screen, you will see your App Store purchase history -- click the Report a Problem button
Locate the iTunes invoice with the application you would like a refund for, and click the Report a Problem link
Fill out the form that follows and be sure to be as detailed as possible -- when finished, click Next
If your reason for requesting a refund is valid, Apple should respond within a few days and process your refund within a week.

  • I have the 'new' iPad and it won't charge when I plug it into an electrical outlet.  It has been charging fine up until last week.

I have the New iPad and the last two times I went to charge it overnight, it didn't charge.  I tried moving the charger to a different outlet and it would click to indicate that it was charging and then it would stop.  Finally, it did charge, but today it just won't begin to charge.  Is this a common problem?  Very frustrating after paying the big bucks to get the latest iPad.

There are probably three reasons your ipad might not charge:
    1. The outlet is. It good. But you've already changed outlets so that may not be the likely cause. Just to be sure double check the outlets with another appliance to make sure the outlet has power.
    2. The charger is bad. First make sure you are using the charger that came with your iPad. Then double check all your connections.
    3. Your connector on the iPad may have dirt in it. Blow the dust out and try again.
If none of these work your iPad may be falty or you may need a new charger. Goto a apple store and have them check out your hardware.

  • I just get the new iPad air and when connecting it to my laptop, why the battery is not charging?

just get the new iPad air and when connecting it to my laptop, why the battery is not charging?

A lot of computers don't provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.

  • How long should I need to charge the new iPad and when?

Hello everyone I just bought the new IPad and till now I didn't charge it how long should I charge it and when ?
    Thanks a lot ..

You don't need to charge it before first using it, it should already be at least partially charged. Otherwise this page just says :
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
Mine takes between 5.5 and 6 hours to charge from empty up to 100%

  • When i take pictures with the new ipad why is there static

when i take a picture with the new ipad why does the picture have noise in it but when i look at pictures online the photos are perfect

Because both cameras have different resolutions.  The camera on the back of your Ipad (3rd gen.) is 5 megapixels; while the camera in front (used mainly for Facetime, etc.) is only 0.3 megapixels.  Hope this helps.

  • Is anyone having a problem with the new iPad (Gen. 3) not staying connected to the charger? It seems to ALWAYS get jiggled loose and no longer be charging. My iPad 1 has no issue but I can't browse Internet w/o new iPad unplugging. Horrible!

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?
    Thanks again!

  • Does any1 having the new ipad experiencing longer charging time?

My the new ipad take more than 3 hours to charge for 50 % and worser than it took apx 8 hour to charge from 20%
Im very disapointed regarding this problem and hopefully apple will take responsibility regarding it..oh ya today one of apple staff call me reporting about my ipad problem, they said that " we never experience such problem " but i could find many people complaining about it in many ipad forum, hope i will be provided will best solution..thx

  • Can I use my 10W iPad 2 charger for the new iPad air?

I need several chargers - work, home, travel. Therefore, can I use the 10W chargers from previous iPad models for the new iPad Air? I don't want to purchase 2/3 additional chargers when I purchase my new iPad. Also, can I use the 12W iPad air charger for my iPhone? I don't want to fry it so want to confirm beforehand.

The new model will have the 12W charger, so you should be able to use it with the new model - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4327 :
iPad models come with one of two different adapters. iPad (third generation) and earlier comes with a 10W adapter while iPad (4th generation) comes with a 12W adapter. iPad mini comes with a 5W adapter.
While these USB Power Adapters are designed for use with iPad or iPad mini, you can use them to charge all iPhone, iPad, iPad mini, and iPod models by connecting them with either the Lightning to USB cable or the 30-pin to USB cable.
