'Static fuzz' noises - only affecting iTunes (not WMP)

Hi all.
I've recently had the strangest of problems - all audio I play in iTunes sounds horrible crackly and staticy, as if it's coming through on a bad radio connection or something. I've been using iTunes for months now with no trouble.
I played the exact same audio files in Windows Media Player as a test, and they sound absolutely perfect - so the problem lies with iTunes.
I have a Creative Labs X-Fi Fatal1ty Soundblaster (a very good soundcard) and have never experienced any problems before tonight. I had just installed a TV card which I suspect may have been the problem, but I've since removed and uninstalled the TV card and reverted Windows to a System Restore point before the TV card was installed. Yet the static noises still remain.
please please please could someone offer some insight?

Well actually, I've been unable to run Quicktime as a separate prog ever since converting to iTunes. The only downloads I can find say "Quicktime with iTunes" and not "Quicktime ONLY" -- that's another thing that's been bugging me about iTunes :S

OT unwanted noises only in iTunes

I posted this on the iTunes forum, but no answer came back. I wonder if any audio pros out there might be able to cast some light on this:
My computer outputs through a MOTU pci card to an array of Motu2408s and DA/AD converters into a 40 channel desk.
All is fine, except iTunes. When playing audio or video from iTunes i get a gradual build up of crackling noise. It sounds like static discharge. It will build until the music or film track is inaudible. If I stop play it will gradually reduce to nothing, but will gradually build again when I start playing.
This doesn't happen in Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, DVD player, QuickTime Player, nor playing the same audio/video files in a finder windows.
Any ideas?

I find my son has the same problem, though not so seriously on his macbook pro/M-Audio Firewire Solo combination. Again only with iTunes, not with Logic (Express).
All volume sliders (iTunes, DVD player and System) are set between 40 and 60%,

My initial reaction is that it's a clocking issue. I have had a similar experience when trying to play something in iTunes whilst Logic was open. In my case my Fireface 800 was externally clocked from a S/PDIF source at that seemedto be the reason why. Once I changed to internal clock, iTunes played corectly.

Adding value to scale only affects X, not Y? Why?

So I I'm using Sound Keys to drive the scale of another layer. However, it's only modifying the X scale, not X & Y.
What's wrong with this expression:

also tried these, but got an syntax error:
s = transform.scale+thisComp.layer("solid").effect("Sound Keys")("Output 1");
[s[0],s[1]]
and

[s,s]

You were all around it. Try this:
s = thisComp.layer("solid").effect("Sound Keys")("Output 1");
transform.scale + [s,s]

Apple ID changed only on itunes, not iphone. :-(

I changed my e mail address since my old one is no longer used. After changing my e mail address on itunes, I can't seem to get it changed on my iphone when I try to download something from the app store, it shows my old e mail address for the apple ID.

You can change it in your iphone going to settings scroll down to app store and sign out and sign in with the apple id you want,also can be done in every itunes,app store or ibooks app,just scroll down.
But be sure about how you set up the sync in your computer because if you tick to sync email accounts and/or apple id may it change every time you sync.

Itunes Equalizer not working for video - only affecting songs

I have noticed that any Itunes equalizer settings that I select only affect songs in my itunes library. Videos are not affected at all by the equalizer settings. This means if I have a very dull sounding video I cannot use the equalizer to improve the audio. Does anyone know how to make the equalizer affect videos within itunes. Thanks in advance

Apple does not care. You have already bought their product and that's all that matters... They got your money and they're happy; you don't have to be. Sadly, all you've paid for is a nice logo on the back of what should be an amazing device.
Only buy an iPod/iPad/iPhone/iDevice if you are trying to impress your friends. Don't buy one if you want to be impressed, because this will not be the case. It will serve no purpose beyond making you look as though you have money to throw away.
But, since you have already given them your hard-earned money, I suggest you don't use an EQ setting. "Off" works best as it produces the least amount of distortion on the iDevices I've tried.

Bazaar high-pitched squeal/fuzz noise in iTunes when scrolling.

System info:
I'm using iTunes 6.1.3 on Windows XP Pro, and I'm wearing headphones (i don't have regular speakers).
Issue:
I noticed that if I click and hold down the scroll bars in the Library in iTunes (the scrollbars for Genre, Artist, and Album), I hear a faint high-pitched squeal or fuzz noise coming into my headphones. (If I scroll through the songs themselves, I do not get this noise. It's just the three above-mentioned scroll bars). Since it's pretty faint, I only hear it if nothing else on my computer is sending out music or noise (or only if the noise is also very quiet at the time). As far as I recall, I don't remember hearing this in conjunction with any other program.
Question:
Has anyone ever heard of such an issue? It's not really a big deal, but it does make me rather curious to know what's causing it. Try it on your own computer and let me know if you have the same issue. Could it be a sound card thing? But then why would where I click in one particular program have anything to do with it?

If you'd like to hear what I'm talking about (Since you might be tempted to think I'm making this up), I created a wave file recording of it. (I didn't want any mp3 compression to confuse the matter, so that's why it's a wav. Not that I know much about that sort of thing... but just in case.) I uploaded it to here: http://aranel.alasse.googlepages.com/itunessqueal.wav (Sorry it's so big... 5.3 MB... Obviously because it's a .wav file. It's a little over 30 seconds long. )
Process of making example file:
I recorded it using Audacity (which is an open source program that can be downloaded from sourceforge.net). In Audacity, I set the recording/input "channel" to be "Wave Out Mix". I turned the Wave out volume and the master volume all the way up, then pushed record. (Turning the Wave volume up caused additional fuzz, so concentrate on the contrast between the sections of the recording to hear the actual sound I'm referring to.) It's a pretty quiet track, so you'll probably have to turn the volume way up.
It's a 30+ second clip. Here's how the seconds break down:
For the first five seconds, I just did nothing.
From seconds five through 10, I clicked and held down the Genre scroll bar in iTunes.
From seconds 10 through 15, I did nothing again.
From seconds 15 through 20, I clicked and held down the Artist scroll bar in iTunes.
From seconds 20 through 25, I did nothing, once again (I kept doing this so you could hear
the difference).
From seconds 25 through 30, I clicked and held down the Album scroll bar in iTunes. (Notice that this one seems to be slightly higher in pitch than the noise from the previous two scrollings I did.)
The last couple seconds, I did nothing again.
More weirdness:
Changing the volume on my computer (both the master mix, and the wave out mix, and any other mix that exists (e.g. line, microphone, CD Player, Mono out, etc.)), or even MUTING the volume of any of these mixes does not make the sound go away or change in volume at all! It's always at the same volume no matter what I do. I can only make it go away if I unplug my headphones (remember: I don't have regular speakers. If I did have those, unplugging the headphones might only change where the noise is heard.). Changing the wave out volume only affected the recording (which is why I turned it way up. If I turn the wave out volume all the way down, then push record, I still hear the noise coming from iTunes while I'm recording, but if I play the recording back, the noise is gone.
Very bazaar...

Called Apple support, they said they do not support the use of iPods in cars, they may have sold you your car kit, but they dont support it. So buyer beware. I have three cars, I upgraded my Nano to 1.1, which is the latest, didnt fix it. I went out and tried it in all three cars, squeals in the Toyota (with Monster Cassette Adapter to Original Radio, hisses in the Nissan (with Audio 3.5 cable to audio jack to after market Sony radio), and works fine in old Mercury (with 3.5 cable to old JVC with audio jack).
So I better take care of the old Mercury.

ctrl B shows the menus.
ctrl S shows the sidebar.

You don't install iTunes on your phone. iTunes is a program that runs on your computer. As RG asked, please explain more clearly what it is you are trying to accomplish.

I have the same problem on the latest iTunes software and Windows 7. My window is maximzed and I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

You'll need to copy the music from the old iPod back to iTunes first before you can transfer it to your new iPod. Did you recently update OS X? The icon indicates you have a version of iTunes that is not compatible with the version of OS X you now have installed. The current version is Apple iTunes 11.0.2, and it's compatible with 10.6.8.
