Static in entire video after detaching audio from clips

After exporting, I was having some audio/video sync issues with my 1 hour and 38 min movie.
It was suggested that I detach the audio from the clips...so I tried it on my 6 minute preview with good success.  I exported the preview and the sync problem was fixed.
So I started detaching the audio to fix the regular 1h 38m movie.  I got through most of the clips and then went back to play a certain section of the movie...and I noticed that now there is a bunch of static in the entire movie.
How do I get rid of the static?
This also has seemed to really slow the project down.  Anything I try to do on the project and iMovie just tanks.

Thanks for your reply Geoff,
I basically have a soundtrack 3.28 minutes long which I want to be the only noise thats playing throughout my interchanging video clips, so I would like to completley move the audio from the all of the indivdual video clips that I am adding in, I thought the 'detatch audio' button would be the one for this, but as I continuously play back bits of the movie to prefect editing I can still slightly hear the sound from the individual videos that I am adding?
So frustrating, but Im sure thats its something real basic that I am missing.....

  • Detaching Audio from clip from the film library panel?

I was wondering if anyone knows how to grab video only from the film library panel. I want to just pull video and not audio as I layout video only out onto my timeline and don't want to hasstle through detaching audio from each clip in the timeline. Does anyone know how to do this? I know Adobe Premier lets you do this but I'm fairly new to FCP and would like to know

Unchecking the audio in the sequence so that source/left A1 isn't connected(not touching) to timeline/right A1 will ensure audio is not added to the the a1 track.
In Premiere 5.5 if you unhighlight a1(source/left) and A1(timeline/right) no audio will be added to that track.
If you unconnect A1 & A2 in the sequence  audio will never be added to timeline whether you drag a clip from a bin or insert/overwrite from the viewer window.

  • Lost video after exporting audio from mpeg-4

I have some mpeg-4 files of my band and wished to improve the audio. I chose the Export Audio option and yes, managed to create an audio only file but seem to have lost the video. Have I lost it permanently or is it still lurking somewhere? I suspect that I might have to reimport this particular file so having done this how would you recommend splitting the audio and video, editing the audio (I use Logic 9) and then putting them back together? Or is there another option?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You could do this in either iMovie or GarageBand.
I would open a new GarageBand Instrumental Project. Drag your TV show file into GarageBand. Then save the project to an audio only codec such as AAC or MP3.
In iMovie, you would use SHARE/EXPORT TO QUICKTIME and pick an audio only codec.

  • After Detaching Audio, how can you re-attach it?

Occasionally after detaching audio from a clip I need to re-attach it.
If I have done several minutes of editing in the meantime, using the Undo function is not viable.
Is there any quick and easy way to re-attach it as when Expanding and Collapsing Audio/Video?

  • Detaching audio from video clips

    Hi
After trying the standard 'detach audio' button I cant seem to find a way to completley detach audio from a clip in order to hear the track I have added to the clip. All I can seem to do is turn the volume right down, and inturn still able to hear it, which is proving annoying!
    Any ideas would be appreciated!
    Thanks

  • Detaching Audio from iMovie Clip - iMovie 9 (2011)

I am using iMovie 9 (2011 - latest). I am trying to detach Audio from a portion of a video clip. I have the Video in the viewer section. I have selected the portion of the Video that were I want to detach the Audio. I read that I have to use Advanced tools to do this (new method). I turned on "Advanced Tools" in the Preferences section. Now I still do not have the menu option to use "Advance Tools" and Extract the Audio. Could you please tell me what I may have missed? Thanks

If you right click on the clip, you should see Detach Audio in the selection box.
I think it is also in the Edit menu.
If you want to detach audio for only a portion of a clip, first select the portion, then right-click/Split Clip. Then right-click/Detach Audio.

  • How do I stop Firefox from playing video after I navigate from the page or leave Firefox?

Simple and annoying. . Extremely frustrating issue with Firefox for Android. ..
I watch a YouTube video or any flash video. . And after I hit play, the ONLY way to stop it is to hit pause or let it play to the end or close the tab. .
It will NOT automatically stop if I open another tab. or if I navigate from Firefox. .
I feel this is a very basic feature. Did I set something up that was wrong?
    Can I ask two questions?
I have another extremely annoying and frustrating problem with Firefox for Android.
The "top" (if you pull down the tabs) search bar DOES NOT allow my stock Samsung keyboard to auto space. . Thus instead of typing
"How do I stop Firefox from playing video after I navigate from the page or leave Firefox?"
    I'll type in
    "HowdoIstopFirefoxfromplayingvideoafterInavigatefromthepageorleaveFirefox?"
Unless I manually got the space bar.
Using a recently factory data reset Samsung Galaxy s4 active.. android 4.2.2 and stock Samsung keyboard ... Firefox 34.0.1
    Thanks in advanced.
    Ps
I was a hardcore xscope user for years and just recently gave in to Firefox when i lost all my bookmarks due to a forced factory data reset. .

I'm using a different keyboard which works fine in the most top search bar...
I cannot believe that it's not a feature.
What if I was watching a video and wanted to shut it off quickly? I'll have to hit back? Wait for the previous screen to load then hit the power button?
Please tell me that feature ids soon to come

  • In v.11, how can I capture video but not audio from a camera?

In v.11, how can I capture video but not audio from a camera?

    Rodney
I see what you mean....Premiere Elements 10 appears to be the last version that had options for the user to select Capture Video and/or Audio in the its Capture Window.
If you are doing DV data capture firewire into the Premiere Elements 11 Capture Windows and want a final file without audio and you cannot do this at the camera level, then consider....
    1. Do the Capture "to the Timeline" - video linked to audio result on the project's Video Track 1
    a. Right click the Timeline DV AVl and select Delete Audio and then edit accordingly.
    or
    b. Import the DV AVI but, when you go to export it, in the export settings, remove the check mark next to Audio so that the export contains only the video portion.
Publish+Share/Computer/AVI with Presets = DV NTSC Standard
Please let us know if any of that worked for you.
    Thank you.

  • How can I reinsert the deleted audio from clips in my sequence?

How can I reinsert the deleted audio from clips in my sequence?

I can tell you a work around to get you going in the meantime, just may be time consuming if you have a lot of clips in the timeline.
double click a clip missing audio
press the go to in point and copy the timecode to notepad
press the go to end point and copy timecode
right click clip, and reveal in project
double click the original in project
paste in timecode and set in & out points again
    drag audio
As I said not the quickest way, but it works, and won't actually take as long as you'd think, 30 secs or so per clip, i just hope you don't have over 100 clips without audio

  • After I detach audio from the video, and I go to delete the video portion but keep the audio, it deletes both. Am I doing something wrong?

    Hello Everyone!
I would appreciate your support if you can. I know how to detach the audio from a video clip. Once this is done I wanted to add another video shot (B-roll) over the audio I detached. When I go to delete the video (which is detached form the audio) It deletes both of them automatically.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Do I need to unpin the audio somehow?
    Thanks again.

  • After detaching audio, audio and visual shift

After I detached the audio from the video in a trimmed clip, the audio and visual both shifted from what point in the clip they were located before, making the person repeat what they just said. How can I fix this? I know better than to hope for a magical preference setting that will solve everything, but why does this happen? And how can I fix it? Are other people experiencing this issue?

    What part don't you understand?
I have a trimmed clip that I detached the audio from. The portion of the video and the audio that is being displayed is a different part of the raw footage (<1 sec off).

  • After detaching audio, how do I re-attach it?

I right clicked on a clip and selecte Detach Audio. Now I don't see (from the same popup menu) how to re-attach the audio back to the clip?
    Thanks

Found a tip that might help you. If you select the clip you want to re-attach the audio of in the timeline and hit Shift+F, the exact selection of the clip will be selected in the Event Browser. You can then drag and drop the selection over the clip without audio and it will restore the audio to the clip. This may kill any video effects you may have added to the video, I'm not sure, but this will restore the clip to have both audio and video.

  • Releasing audio from clips

Have a project in iMovie V9.0.4 with audio and have detached it successfully from the clip. However, when reducing clip length the audio follows, indicating both are still tied together. What is desired is to reduce clip length and have the audio remain as it was.
    Is this possible?
    Help would be appreciated.

You need to make sure that your project is at least as long as the audio clip you want. If you have a 30 second audio clip and a 20 second video clip in your project, the audio will be shortened to match the video. The audio is still there. If you add some video clips or photos, you should see the audio reappear.
If necessary, you can add some placeholder clips to your project. You can find some placeholder clips (animatics) and some colored backgrounds under the Maps button on the middle toolbar.

  • No audio from clips from camera

I am using iMovie HD 6 and I have transferred my clips from cam corder. The problem I am having is that I am manually dragging video clips from my camera to iMovie and the clips go in except they have no audio. Any solutions to this problem would be great...

What kind of camcorder are we talking about? I suspect this isn't a tape based MiniDV type camera, right? And instead you are importing from some sort of DVD, Flash, or hard drive based camera? If so are the videos in MPEG format when you add them to iMovie?
QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, when you convert videos they sometimes only get the video and no sound since iMovie (really QuickTime) is not looking for the audio track within the video track and it gets lost.
Here is an article explaining it when you try to convert video to iPod format...
iPod plays video but not audio of some exported files
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302588
One way to work around this is to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to fix this issue...

  • Removing Audio from clip

Ok, I just got FCE for X-mas and I am completely lost. I need to know how to remove the audio from the clip, and/or how to edit the audio seperately than the video.

    Hi John.
There are many ways. Probably the simplest is to highlight the audio in the timeline and press the Delete key.
However, if you are new to FCE you will have an extremely steep learning curve ahead of you and I would forget about making a serious film for at least a month!
You should get a simple step by step instruction book.
I can thoroughly recommend Tom Wolsky's book - "Final Cut Express 2 Editing Workshop".
It is very "user-friendly" and guides you easily through all the steps. You are told exactly what to do and why. It's the next best thing to having a tutor sitting alongside you.
Tom is also one of the main contributors to this forum, so is available should you have any problems.
Don't be put off by the FCE 2 name - it works for FCE HD just as well.
You can get it from Amazon. It is well worth the money and will save you from countless hours of frustration - which will almost certainly happen if you struggle on alone.
