Static IP for LWAPP Device

Is it possible to assign a static ip to a LWAPP device?
The reason for it is because one of our remote offices does not have dhcp enabled (due to 3 people being there).
If it's not possible we can always setup a dhcp server there, but hoping there's a way to statically configure a LWAPP's IP address.

I've done the following to set an static ip address for my Suse 9 Linux box:
- Take not of inet address value from ifconfig command. ie: (172.17.2.14)
- Change this value in /etc/hosts for my linux box.
Since Suse is configure by default to use DHCP for assigning dinamic ip_addresses i'm not sure whether will lastly be set as a static address. I've rebooted my box and it seems to be OK.

/etc/hosts is not configuration file for ethernet interfaces.
Configuration files for ethernet interfaces are stored in /etc/sysconfig/network directory.
For example if you have eth0 device then configuretion for this device is stored in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 file.
Important directives:
DEVICE - interface (eth0)
IPADDR - IP address of interface
NETMASK - netmask
BOOTPROTO - "static" for static configuration, dhcp for dynamic configuration via dhcp
ONBOOT - activating interface during boot (yes/no) (yes - of course :-) )
GATEWAY - default gateway
So for example you want setup static IP (192.168.10.1 / 255.255.225.0) for eth0 interface.
Edit the /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 file and your configuration should be:
DEVICE=eth0
IPADDR=192.168.10.1
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
BOOTPROTO=static
ONBOOT=yesThen you simply restart the nework using:
/etc/init.d/network restartOR
/sbin/ifdown eth0
/sbinf/ifup eth0 OR
ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 up

There are two basic varieties of LiveCycle XFA...Static XFA and Dynamic XFA, which are very different in terms of their future for potential support in Adobe Reader for iOS. Which variety of XFA are you using?
Static XFA uses the PDF markup language for content and form fields, so users can view the documents in Adobe Reader for iOS, but we currently do not properly handle filling, saving, and submitting those forms. I have improving our handling of Static XFA on my roadmap, but cannot offer any specific date yet (sorry, policy plus actual uncertainty). I know that there are some other apps that partially support Static XFA, though I do not know how complete their support is. If you can even open the XFA document in Adobe Reader for iOS, it is likely Static XFA.
Dynamic XFA is effectively a JavaScript application packaged inside a PDF wrapper, which generates layout and form fields via code and requires a significant engine to support this. Support for Dynamic XFA is unfortunately not currently on our roadmap for iOS due to the nature of the technology, and our concern that any implementation we try likely will not pass Apple's restriction against installing something that allows other "apps" to be downloaded and executed from within it. The LiveCycle team is exploring solutions for our enterprise customers wanting to use Dynamic XFA from mobile devices as part of their server offering, but I cannot offer any insight here. To my knowledge, there are no applications that handle Dynamic XFA other than Adobe Reader for the desktop platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Static MAC for a router interface

I have a Cisco 851 router that is setup as a VPN device. I have a managed switch connected to an interface on the 851. I want to be able to assign a static MAC for the paticular interface so that the connected switch is the only device allowed to connect to that port. However, the router must still be able to learn and pass traffic from MAC addresses of devices connected to the switch. Is this possible?

STATIC IP for PS3/XBOX is this possible on FIOS Routers?

I have both consoles and I am trying to figure out if it is possible to attatch Static IPs to these two devices?
I went inside the Router site and noticed they both were there with their own IPs assigned but I am wondering
if once I turn them on tomorrow will they have different IPs?.
I want to do port forward process for them or if possible add one to the DMZ in order to use VERIZON FIOS TV on xbox 360 with full potential, but if they get another IP tomorrow what will be the point?. So basically I just want to know if i can assign static IPs for both ON THE CONSOLES ITSELF then just use those IPs to portforward them or assign XBOX 360 t0 DMZ.

Let's assume the router is physically fine....
First, did you run the network test from the Xbox? If not, do so.
If you've done the network test on the Xbox and it still shows moderate/strict, let's confirm the router configuration:
Verify that you updated the router's DHCP range so that some addresses will not fall in the DHCP range (like your xbox at 192.168.1.70). So, you might set your DHCP range from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.50).
Verify you've created a static address (192.168.1.70) on the router and verify your Xbox's MAC address was entered correctly.
Verify you've entered the IP address for you Xbox in the DMZ and selected the enable.
Finally, verify the manual network configuration on the Xbox, with the information jumpin68ny detailed in an earlier reply.
After making any change on the router, you should reboot it. I prefer the hard reboot (on/off button on back). Wait for the router to come back online and the internet light to glow green and start any network adapter you may have connected to the Xbox, then the Xbox itself.
It might help if we knew:
What router and firmware do you have?
Is your Xbox wired to the router or is it wireless?

How can I open another iCloud account for each devices with the same apple id

my family has 2 iPhones 1 iPad 1 Macbook and 1 iMac. I had all the devices set up with one iCloud under 1 Apple ID. Now things are getting so mixed up with pictures, videos, calendar, notes and reminders etc. 1 iPhone is also unable to sync due to not having enough storage for all our devices. Someone from Genius Bar said we can have iCloud for each device under 1 Apple ID. I backed up all pics. videos notes important docs to my iMac and MacBook then I turned off all iCloud in all of the devices now I need help to create a new iCloud account at least for my 3 mobile devices to end all the confusion. every time I try to click the button "set up iCloud on this device" I always go back to apple site with step by step by step instruction but I keep going around in a loop. I'm not sure what they told your at the Apple store, but each Apple ID can only create a single iCloud account. If you want separate accounts for all these devices, they will have to be created using separate IDs. Note: you can do this and still share the same ID for other services such as your iTunes store account. The iCloud ID does not need to be the same as the ID used for other services.
To create an account, go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with a different Apple ID. If you want to migrate a copy of the current iCloud data to the different accounts, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the devices keeping the current account will not be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iDevice and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data.

I have been reasearching how to do this on the internet, but I haven't found an easy explanation yet. My family is going crazy over each others imessages being sent to others in the family and not being able to use FaceTime because of conflicting email addresses. I have read that if each person gets their own iCloud account, this would work. However, I need to know what to do after I set everyone up with their own iCloud account. Do I make that the default email address to be contacted or can they still use their hotmail email addresses. Any help- with easy explanation- would be much appreciated!!

We do this in my family now. We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores). Each iDevice has this configured.
Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud. That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup. That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice. You can just restore from it.
So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.

Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response. What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures. Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures. 1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

Same apple id for multiple devices

I have been use the same apple id for multiple devices (both are iPhones running iOS 6 - one is a 4, the other a 4S.) I'd like to sync separate content for each device using the same instance of iTunes (iTunes V 10.7 installed on MacBook running OS X 10.6.8.) Can I assign the second device a separate apple id in odrer to differentiate the content? Thanks for your assistance!

No, a second Apple ID will not work. iTunes can already tell them apart.
When you connect the first iPhone to iTunes, check and uncheck the things you want and Sync.
Do the same with the second iPhone.

If I understand correctly it sounds like your phone hasnt been recognized in iTunes on your PC since the last couple of updates. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article which will walk you through the steps one by one.

Creating a site for mobile devices

Good morning,
I have a number of questions relating to the creation of a
site for mobile devices. My client has given me the assignment to
re-design his current website, and to also create a sub-site
suitable for mobiles. I have spent a number of hours looking around
on the Internet and trying to gain a better understanding of these
issues. Still, a number of questions remain. if you can give me any
additional understanding, that would be great.
Question 1:
Is my understanding correct: I basically need to create two
sites, one for the wide-screen browser, and one for the mobile
browser? I can direct visitors to the mobile site using a CSS or
javascript link - if their browser identifies them as a mobile
browser?
Question 2
Mobile devices come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and
versions. PDA\s and iPhone's have different screensizes and
resolutions that smart--phones, which in turn are different again
from older and simpler phones. Should I design a site for a number
of different types of phones? That would a huge amount of work...

I also own Device Central, an App which I should think is
very useful in this situation. But I fail to understand it! OK, so
I can see what my photo or website or flash file looks like on my
Nokia N73 - but I am not designing specifically for that phone. I
also want my design to look good on all the other phones! My client
needs a website that is not tailored to one phone, but to all
phones.

I would think it is popular enough to warrant its own profile... (I

Quick Trim option in Save for Web & Devices

Hi,
a feature to do a quick Trim in Save for Web & Devices dialogue would be great, especially if it was enabled with a checkbox, then when you enable it, it activates a dialogue with the three options that already exist in Trim option (Transparent pixels, Top left color, Bottom right color).
Let me know what you think.

I need to figure out why my trim option is always grayed out. It's saved in PSD format, yet the option to trim the transparent pixels is grayed out. why is that? what am I doing wrong? I must have to change something.

HT3819 Home Share issue: I have a Mac and Apple TV. Both are log into the same Wifi network and the same iTunes account (I can view purchased movies on AppleTV). Home Sharing shows 'ON' for both devices. BUT...AppleTV shows no computers. Itunes sidebar-no

Has anyone else found solution to Apple devices not 'seeing' each other on Home Share? I have a Macbook Air (new Nov'12) and Apple TV (new Dec'12). Software updated on both. Both are logged into the same Wifi network and the same iTunes account (I can view movies purchased from iTunes on my AppleTV). Home Sharing shows 'ON' for both devices. BUT...AppleTV shows no computers... and ... Itunes sidebar does not have a 'Shared' area at all. Help please as without this functionality, my Apple TV only provides portal to purchased (i.e. Netflix,...) content which I can get from Wii or Xbox.
I have already tried the following without success:
1. Homeshare DID work the first day after I setup Apple TV... but the next day it has not worked since then.
2. Powered off 30 sec then re-started (Apple TV & Macbook & iTunes login)
3. Checked Firewall settings per Home Sharing troubleshooting guide (correct settings)
4. Turning on Photostream in iPhoto and selecting iPhoto within iTunes and then checking to see if Photostream shows anything on AppleTV (it shows 'on' for my iTunes account but 'Zero' pictures found ... despite the >3,000 pictures showing avail in iTunes).
I also have 'Remote" app on my iPhone 4, with Home Sharing turned on (same Wifi network)... it has a very similar message as the Apple TV and same result that despite all devices having HomeShare 'on' they cannot see each other: "Remote will automatically find the iTunes libraries and Apple TVs that have Home Sharing turned on using the account xxxx (it lists my correct itunes account name)."

I solved this by reset of the Wifi (unplug cable and power to both modem and wifi ... wait 60 sec ... plug in modem cable and power ... plug in wifi power and LAN to modem ... restart AppleTV and Mac ... Turn Home Share 'OFF' in iTunes then back "ON" ... it took ~60 sec for the AppleTV to pick up my Mac in computers.

I suggest you try the very clean and very forceful AutoLoader method:

Beware that it is completely destructive...the device will be "like new"...no data, no apps, no accounts, etc. Be sure you take a full backup first, as well as make full manual documentation of all apps, accounts, configurations, etc. Sometimes a restore reintroduces the very corruption one is trying to eliminate, and manual reconfiguration is necessary.
You can also use this to fall back to a prior OS if you desire...you can install any OS level for which you can find an AutoLoader. (Hint...search over on the CB site!)
