Static Noise through Pioneer Car Radio

I've found some threads about the static noise problem in the Ipod classics. I wonder if anyone has experience connecting the ipod to a sound system such as the Kenwood or Pioneer Avic-X3, the latter I now own. These car systems are state of the art, and one of the few systems who allow direct control over the ipod. I wanted the very best, so I specifically bought the Ipod for this purpose.
The problem is the audio quality because of static noise is simply terrible. Even if no music is playing there is a continues buzzing sound through the sound system (probably the HDD) which gets worse when you turn up the volume. turning off the EQ in the ipod makes no difference. Pioneer blames the Ipod, and by checking various threads it seems this is a genuine problem. What advise would you guys give me, is it worth raising this with Apple by going back to the store? I can't believe I spend more then 2000 Euros on this entire system and having this crap quality.

The Ipod classic didnt work on the Pioneer X3, you will get a ERROR A0 on your display .... the ipod video 5th version works great .... but not the classic,i bought the ipod classic ... and it dont work

  • How to play a music on my iPhone through my car radio ??

I want to play a song on my iPhone through my car radio but not via an FM adapter. I don't want to connect anything. If there is an application, I can search for any station on this application and the same station on the radio so It will connect automatically. For example, the station number on the application is ( 100.06 ) so I have to search for the same satation number ( 100.06 ) on the radio to play the songs on my iPhone.
    Thanks alot for your time.

You can use Bluetooth devices that are either integrated into the car or purchased separately. This might look something like: iPhone > Bluetooth wireless signal > Bluetooth receiver > wired analog audio plugged into car stereo AUX port.
If you don't have built-in Bluetooth or an AUX port, you will need an FM transmitter, some of which are wireless but do need to connect to the iPhone directly.

  • Recently I've been getting repeating static noise through USB connected devices in GarageBand

I've been using GarageBand for recording for the past year.  Only recently have I encountered an issue with the use of ANY usb connected device.  I'm using a Macbook Pro Retina 15" and the connected devices I've encountered the issue with are a Blue Snowball Mic, M-Audio Axiom 49 Midi Controller, and guitars plugged in via a Rocksmith Cable... pretty much any time I record through USB I get a repeating static noise approximately every 35 seconds that lasts for 2-3 seconds.  The noise is very prevalent and sounds very much like what cell signal noise sounds like.  I tested putting my iPhone into Airplane mode hoping that would solve the issue but to no avail.
I've been using this same exact setup for over a year and only in the last month has there been any problem like this.
Anyone else seeing this problem and does anyone know of a solution... it's pretty much rendered GarageBand useless for recording at this point for me.

Fixed my own problem... if anyone else has this issue and sees this all I had to do was update to ML 10.8.3 and it took care of what ever bug was in the system.

  • Powerbook G4 thru Pioneer car radio

I am trying to hook my G4 thru my car(2004Scion XB) stereo (Pioneer T1201) so I can listen to iTunes radio via my car radio(with my Verizon Wireless card) as well as the 2007 Garmin GPS 18 system($200) which I will hook up to my laptop via a USB cable. It seems silly to order a $2000 dollar GPS StreetSmart unit and subscibe to XM or Sirrius for $$ each month plus the $200 receiver when I can enjoy my music I already have. Anyone else done this, or have an idea about adapting?
    Thanks,

The power isn't a issue. I hooked up a 100w inverter containing a USB port for power. Computer taken care of. Now I have found a Pioneer IP-Bus adapter with RCA jacks. Installed in aux. port on back of radio. Now hooked up to computer via a set of Monster audio jack to RCA cables when I drive, listening to my music on my computer thru the car stereo. Now waiting on Garmin GPS with USB connection that will drive via my 15" screen all my GPS directions, and audio output of directions via the car stereo. The GPS is about the diameter of a aluminum soda can. Portable too. Very happy now. Thanks for your interest.

  • IMac 27" Static Noise through external monitors

Hey, I recently bought a 27" iMac and I'm running a pair of Yamaha HS50Ms out for monitoring audio recording. When I'm not playing sound the speakers output static from the computer (presumably hard drive noise or something?). It's especially noticeable when I scroll the magic mouse.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
    thanks

    -= Guaranteed Solution =-
Hi, I have a Quick and nasty solution. It will work, it's a good test also if this is not the case, however, I bet it is.
The problem is technically a ground loop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groundloop%28electricity%29).
The 'Quick and Dirty' solution is to buy a normal cheap double adapter, cut off the earth (I just used pliers) and plug the power of your iMac into this and then your socket, effectively, removing the ground plug to the Mac.
I have messed around ALOT. This is the cheapest complete fix. Be careful when you plug USB's into the computer. I now use a hub for USB, as without the earth you will get some sparks from the ungrounded mac aluminum frame, If this happens don't worry but yeah its not ideal.
If this test works I would then recommend getting a decent RCA Ground noise filter, I don't know if it will cut frequency's of the audio or not, I guess the other option is to try a fully reconditioning UPC unit I haven't tested this yet, I just assume it would work. (cost $200-$600+)
You can also try plugging the Monitors and iMac into the same power board or even better same split power cable. this might have some effect until you really increase power output as the earths are as close to each other. This works for me until I turn my Mackie MR8's up to about 75%. if they are plugged into different power supply I can hear the noise at around 25%-30%.
The iMac actually has an impressive sound card, I have a feeling either it or something on the USB is leaking earth onto the aluminum frame. maybe even the sound card itself isn't earthed properly and runs through the USB earth. It annoys me mac won't provide any kind of solution or admit any of this. ****, I would be happy if they at least sold a ground loop filter on there shop. I know I'm not the only person with Monitor setup and iMac 27" !!!!

the answer is 5. I downloaded the FM TRANSMITTER CASE . It asks me connect my iPhone to my case&Fm transmitter.

    Thanks alot for your cooperation.

i use a cheap wireless fm transmitter.  Purchased at a store called 5 and below. for 5 dollars.  works great.  plug the mic jac into the ipod/touch, select a station on the transmitter, set the station on the radio, press play and you are good to go

  • IBook to play through car radio?

I want to play music from my iBook through my car radio. like an FM translator or something.
I know you do this with an iPod, but can I do this with an iBook?
    Thanks,
    Jesse

Something like this should work, as should any FM transmitter which will take your iBook's analog audio output. Another option would be to get a wired casette adapter (if your car stereo supports it), but I reckon it'll look a lot messier than the FM transmitter setup.

  • TS3581 Crackling static noise in audio with 30 pin lightning adapter when battery is full

Anyone else get a really bad crackling static noise through the audio when using the 30 pin lightning adapter and the battery is almost full? I am using an iPhone 5, BMW iDrive with the Y audio and USB connection. I did not have this problem with the 4S and the normal 30 pin connector. The lilghtning 30 pin adapter seems to create interference when the phone's battery is nearly full. I also see the warning message indicating that charging is not supported - and according to the troubleshooting guide this is normal - but what about the noise????

Alright, another update:   I tried another iPhone 5, which did not charge, and an iPod touch (without the lightning adapter, obviously), which also did not charge.  Additionally, I tried the lightning to 30-pin adapter with an old sync cable and my computer, and it worked fine.  At this point, it appears that the problem may be in the MDI cable coming from the car, rather than the adapter.  Perhaps it was just coincidental that it stopped working at the same time I upgraded.

  • How do i get my ipod touch to play on the car radio

How do I get my Ipad touch to play through the car radio?

You can buy something like this Belkin Cable here, which I use, and plug it into your car's Aux port if it has one. They can also be found in most electronics stores.
If your car doesn't have an Auxillary port, you can buy something like the Griffin iTrip, which allows you to set your iPod to transmit on a specific FM frequency, and you can just tune your car to that station. You can find that anywhere electronics are sold.

error 80 when using bluetooth on pioneer car radio with my iphone 4 and 5

me too...did some digging on the internet and appears Error -80 means the car deck is expecting some bluetooth protocols that your iPhones wont give out.  mine was intermittent for last couple years (deck is 12 years old) as of last night i just get error -80 everytime i try to dial out or recieve a call via bluetooth. this issue was intermittent with an iPhone 3G, 4, 4S, 5 and now my current 5S.  im blaming Pioneer not Apple for this
I ended up buying a new deck for my car...gets installed tomorrow.

  • Static noise in Zuma

    Hi,
has anyone else noticed that while playing Zuma, especially in the higher levels, there is static noise through the headphones whenever the hard drive spins up? It's not just a slight hiss, but a rather loud screeching noise.
Hopefully it's just a bug in the game, not a defective iPod?

Is the static sound noticeable always, or is it more when the volume is up?
Does the static noise seem to vary depending on what you are doing? (moving the mouse cursor, for example)
Was the static noise present immediately when you first powered the notebook on, or was it after using it a bit, or going online?

  • N96 Nokia Maps "Voice" & Bluetooth car radio.

Hi, I have a problem with Nokia Maps voice and Bluetooth car radio. Although the N96 voice call works well through the car radio (tevion md 814508, Bluetooth version 1.2) the nokia maps "voice' does not come through. Also I would like to stream my phones MP3 music as well.
    Any ideas?

    Hi confiture
    A bit of an update.
Like johndub in his post I've found that if I switch the car stereo to aux I do hear a voice but really crackly and distorted. You can't really tell what 'he' is saying. Play some music with Car Menu/Music Player and it's clear. Switch the stereo to radio (or off) and the voice is gone.
This obviously is quite a bug. Nokia not being exactly 'joined up' when it comes to their hardware and software releases again possibly?
"If you start car menu and do not activate the music player, instead move straight to navigation, selecting your route etc then it will mute the radio and send the guidance down the mono channel like a phone call"
Unfortunately I can assure you this doesn't happen.
I have noticed there is a software update for the CK-300 but I don't have the correct cable for the job. Any idea where I could get this done? I found a link for Nokia installers on here a while ago but I'll be damned if I can find it now

  • I would like to take a iTunes play list and put it on a USB drive for my car radio to stay in my car. Is there a way to do this through iTunes so you have all the song info and there's no number in front of the name of the song? Is there a program?

iTunes only syncs to Apple devices.
Assuming the media is not DRM protected, any of the media can be dragged and dropped from iTunes onto other drives (external, flash, etc) as the user chooses.

  • How to play Mozaic over car radio speaker system without static?

Playing Zen Mozaic over Car?s Radio Speaker system without static?
I just purchased a Zen Mozaic and want to use it primarily for playing books downloaded from the local library over our car?s radio speaker system without static.
I purchased a cheap audio cable to connect the zen to the AUX interface in the car but I understand that trying to play it over the car runs into the problem of bad static.
Is there some device that will allow me to play the Mozaic over the car radio system without static?
    Thanks very much.
    Bruce? [email protected]

D? Are you simply plugging a jack from the headphone output on the Zen into a headphone-like input on your stereo? That sould work fine, with possibly only slight "whine". If you are wiring into the back of your stereo, it should work just as well unless you have poorly shielded cables or your car has crummy sparkplugs. Do a Google search on this---what you are doing in case 2 is common on motorcycles and they will tell you how to use a resistor circuit to cut down on ignition interference.
You can also either use a cassette adapter (if your stereo has a cassette player) or an FM transmitter (many varieties of these). The FM transmitter works well, but you'll pick up static and interference if you dri've into an area where an actual FM station is using that frequency. You just have to "change channels" on your radio and transmitter in this case---simple. The sound is pretty good (not as good as direct cable or cassette adapter) and is more than adequate for books.
