Static Support

I am a very new convert to Mac (4 days). Just purchased a MacBook Pro and having some serious issues. I get electric shocks in my wrists when typing and mac is on mains power, seems ok on battery. Has anyone else experienced this or is this just some kind of penance that I have to pay for using a PC all this time?
Second problem is a pixel has given up on me already and is burning nice and bright. When I took this up with the store here in the UAE they told me that Mac will not do anything about screen until at least 5 pixels give up, is this true.
Support here in UAE is poor, can anyone suggest alternative contact to sort out these issues or is this the sort of quality/service Mac users have to live with?

Thanks very much for your advice. The sockets here are 3 pin but extension cable provided is 2 pin with earth provided if there is an earth pin in the 2 pin socket. (I know what I mean I think). I have found that if I insulate myself then there is no problem but wearing rubber boots in this temperature is.
The pixel is fixed! I tried both your solutions and nothing seemed to happen but when I looked again about 10 mins later its was normal again. Well done!

Here's my problem. This support class has a small Java GUI associated with it.

instantiated, the GUI appears. There is a button on the GUI that will kill this

when I attempt to kill this instance by calling dispose and making all references
to it null, it has
no effect. The bean remains alive. I can't get it to get garbage collected.
Any advise?

Joel,
You can not use interactive utilities on server side
by definition. I mean - you sure you can, but it's not
going to work. So the only way to fix your problem
is to rewrite this utility, or to ask your vendor to do it.

Apache: mod_wl.so: symbol ap_log_rerror: referenced symbol not found

I am working with os solaris 64 and weblogic 12c.
I installes weblogic and wiork fine, I compiled the apache and start without problem bt when I try to load the module for weblogic the apache no start.
This is the sentences:
./configure prefix=$APACHE_HOME with-apr=$UTILS/apr with-apr-util=$UTILS/apr-util with-pcre=$UTILS/pcre enable-module=all enable-rule=SHARED_CODE --enable-so
I did the make and make install without problem.
I add the Load Module in the httpd.conf and fail the start:

Regarding Ironport rating

apologies if this is brought up in the wrong forum or channel, but I did not find any proper entry point for this case.
It has come to our attention that one of our host names which we use for serving application data (through an xml and json API to mention a few) has gotten a very low rating in Ironport, which subsequently causes the host to be blocked. This is causing us technical difficulties and loss in revenue for our customers operating in networks using Ironport.
I have read through the publicly available information on which criterias can cause a low rating, none of them fulfilled by our application (as far as I can deduce).
We would like to open a dialog on this, since we feel the rating is not justified, including being presented what is causing the low rating.

Does anybody know of a product that caches files in IIS?

We currently have the bulk of the static support files for our portal (.js, .gif, .jpg, .css, .html, etc) in the application .ear file. We'd like to move these files into IIS, since we frontend our cluster with IIS with the BEA WL Proxy plug-in, but due to time constraints are unable to for at least a 1 quarter potentially longer. That being said, does anybody know of a web proxy cache product (like Squid on Linux) which works with IIS that could cache these files at the IIS layer so the requests for these static support files did not have to go all the way to the portal servers?

CAC or smart card use with Oracle database and web server

I've been asked to smart card (CAC) enable our Oracle web server and database access. We currently use CAC to access many of our other applications.
Where can I find the following information
Oracle software required (and is it an additional cost)
How to integrate Oracle App server (web server) with CAC.
How would I need to change the database users accounts to be CAC enabled rather than database users accounts.

Create RAC on Virtual Nodes

I have to create 2 node RAC db where the 2 nodes are vm's.
What is the process?

Lack of Support, Crashes, Static....Spread the word!

I bought a new system and was told the X-FI XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro would work fine in Vista. No where did I read that I would lose all sound for no reason, that games would crash, or that I would get static. I feel like I'm playing the lotto and am greatful if my sound card works for 20 mins.
Its my goal to spread the word to other people thinking about buying a CL product. Clearly CL isn't doing anything to help fix the problem (or you would at least think they would post here saying "yeah we know its an issues we are working on it") Its my goal to help other people now waste their money buying these cards until they work.
For those of you who dont have problems that great, and I'm happy for you (really I am), however this is for the thousands that are stuck with out sound. The only way CL will hear us and do something if we can hurt them financially (I know I dont stand much of a chance in doing this, but hell the fans mad Fire Fly into a movie!)
Now I'm going to re-enable onboard sound and hope I like it as much as my new paper weight.

2 - why we buy their prodcuts? when they works they rulezzzzz!!!
3 - even after 5 years some SB sound cards are far better than integrated solutions but they have reach EOL (end-of-life).

Is XIB not supported in static library (for creating Native Extension)?

Hello,
These day I'm trying to build a static library in XCode to build a Native Extension. The original project from which I'm creating a static library is runs well on device. But when I creates a static library project along with one XIB file within, and port it to the Adobe AIR, the expected XIB view never opens up.
Somewhere some gentleman mentioned that static library can not include XIB, graphics file etc. Is that true (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2797214/trouble-using-xib-files-in-libraries)? Can't I bundle an ANE with XIB support?

Adobe has never developed a Flash player for I devices, so there is none. You might try searching the Apple store as there are some browsers there that can play some Flash content.

Does labview support dll which has sub functions that are static functions?

I wrote and compiled a C function into dll to be called by labview. The function calls a sub function. It works fine if it is a normal sub function. However I see that if I declare the sub function to be static, labview will crash. So is it that labview does not support static function in dll?

A static function simply means that it is local to the C module that defines it and can't be seen from other C modules in a library. It should not change anything else about how it works.
So in conclusion it should not make a difference in if it crashes or not but only create possible problems in linking the library. It seems extremely likely that you have another problem in your library that gets somehow triggered more easily when you compile your code with the static functions, but it should not have to do anything directly with the fact that you have static functions in itself.

Does Airport Extreme support Static Routes?

I have client using an Airport Extreme as their Router. They currently connect to another device outside their network using AppleTalk.
It is planned to put this device onto TCP/IP but on a different subnet (e.g. their subnet is 192.168.5.X and the device will be on say 192.168.25.X). Does Airport Extreme support (like other Routers) the ability to set up a static link to a device on a different subnet (can’t find any information in a doco or the utility) or do they need to replace this with a “real“ router?

Sure, I could do something like route add -net 10.100.10 192.168.0.100 on every client machine on the subnet, but there is no such way to configure a web cam and similiar devices

Static methods not supported?

When I create a static function in netbeans 6.5 like:
class Conversions

}I get the warning that *'static is no longer supported, it will be removed soon, use script-level declarations'.*
Does anybody know what this means, how do I declare class level functions?
Besides that, where is a good, uptodate, complete language reference, I get all unknown pages?

Found it myself, but I think that there's an inconsistency with the javafx plugin and the javafx compiler, because the code in my first message gives a warning, but does run.
When you change the 'static' into 'public', it behaves as a class method, in the IDE. The following code, does not cause a warning in Netbeans:
