Static thumbnail images not functioning (Encore 1.5.1)

I've been using Encore 1.5.1 (Build 42735) for many years now on this PC (AMD X2, Shuttle XPC P2500G), and have had no problems. However, in the last couple of weeks, the following symptom has developed...
My typical workflow is to encode M2V files using Premiere Pro 1.5.1, then import them as timelines into Encore 1.5.1. Once the timeline is created, I then set the chapter points, create menus, select video buttons, etc. Ultimately, I set thumbnail images for each video button using the "SET POSTER FRAME") option (based on frames from the M2V timeline), preview the project, then create a DVD image.
The Problem - When I try to "set poster frames" using timelines associated with M2V files, the image that appears in the menu editor's video button is severely distorted. (In some cases, the image is also upside down!) The image is corrupt when previewing the project and when the DVD is burned.
This only seems to happen when I use M2V files AND I make the buttom image static. In other words, if I check "Animate Buttons", the thumbnail image in the menu editor is corrupt, but previews and burns correctly. Also, if I use AVI files instead, everything works perfectly.
By the way, preview/playback of the actual M2V timeline works fine. It's almost as if Encore's menu editor is now having trouble interpreting the data from the M2V file.
As I stated before, I've been using M2V files in Encore since 2004 with no issues, and in the last few weeks this problem has begun. Has anyone out there encountered this problem? If so, what is causing it and is there a solution?

I've done some additional testing... But first a little background.
I have 2 PCs with almost identical software installed on them, including Premiere Pro 1.5.1 and Encore DVD 1.5.1. Although the hardware is different, I've configured these machines to be able to share any project I've EVER created. Any software installed on the first PC (built in 2003 - XP Home SP2) has been duplicated on the second PC (built in 2005 - XP Pro SP2). In fact, whenever I upgrade software on one machine, I always upgrade both to keep them in synch. Since 2005 I've been able to move projects back and forth between these two PCs with no problem whatsoever.
Now the test...
I created a different five minute m2v file on each PC using the media encoder (v1.1) within Premiere Pro 1.5.1. (Remember, that's my normal workflow.)
I took the m2v file from the older (and still functioning correctly) PC, then used that file to create Encore projects on both PCs. I took the m2v file created on the newer (and currently not functioning correctly) PC and created Encore projects on both PCS.
That's a total of 4 Encore projects. For each project, I created a simple "blank 4X3 menu", and added a single video button. I linked the button to the 1 and only chapter on the timeline, then set the poster frame for the button.
The results are as follows:
1) It doesn't matter which computer creates the m2v - Any m2v can be copied to the old, functioning PC, and the Encore menu editor and the preview function displays perfectly.
2) When using the Encore menu editor and preview features from the newer, problematic PC, single images (from m2v files created from either PC) set as poster frames are not interpreted properly. The image is displayed upside-down with a "mosaic" look to it.
3) If I set the thumnail image of the button, check "Animate Buttons", then render the motion menus, the menu editor still displays the corrupted image, but the preview looks perfect.
4) If I use AVI files instead, all these problems disappear.
Someone suggested this might be a codec problem, but if so, wouldn't the files not encode correctly as well? Remember, I can create the m2v on the "bad" computer, copy it to the "good" computer, and everything works fine.
It is true that (a month or so ago) I upgraded software on both machines - QuickTime 7.5.5 (which probably has some codecs) and Sonicfire Pro 5, which needs QT to run. Both sets of installs/upgrades went smoothly and the software on both PCs is working with no anomolies. Since the exact same versions are on both computers (with the old machine working perfectly), I'm having trouble buying the bad/rogue codec theory.
I could ignore this problem and just use AVI files. However, since AVI files are so much larger and take so long to back up to 4mm tape, I really don't see that as a long term solution.
Based on this information, does anyone have any ideas?

Some Thumbnail images not showing up in folders? just a icon

Just bought a Brand new Mac with i7 processor. It did not come with Lion installed though. So before doing anything I upgraded to the free Lion update. So here is the issue.
For some reason i cant view preview thumbnail images of some .ARW and .jpg files in some folders, while others I can. I made sure all the "view options" were set and everything. Also moved files to new folders. So here is what I did.
1. Reformated and Reinstalled Snow Leopard and put my .ARW files and the preview thumbnails show up in all folders with no issues. Then I updated to Lion again and now some show and some don't. The funny thing is that now files that did not show thumbnails the first time now does, and some that shown thumbnails now don't. Its different each time I install Lion OS
2. I removed the hidden .DS_Store files in these folders just to make sure those where not effecting it as well, but it did not do anything after a new one appeared.
Whats up with Lion? known bug? I did a search and did not hear about this issue yet? Am I the first lucky one?

I am having similar problems with viewing jpgs in preview / finder in 10.7... but only those that were create by either lightroom or photoshop ( LR 3 / PS CS4) after installing Lion... they preview fine in bridge and every other app.... Just not in Finder etc....
Very annoying!
If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears.

Safari Top Sites thumbnail images not updating automatically?

is it happening just with me, or the automatic update of the Top Sites thumbnail images is not working anymore?

It is intentional. When on the Top Sites view, hit Command+R to refresh the images. Supposedly this was done because the previews don't do a good enough job of detecting weird login pages and wifi password pages.
Personally, I'd like it to have an option to go back to updating the images on its own again.

MimeURL with images not functions properly on Integrated ITS

I'm new in ITS and I'm working on Integrated ITS (SAP ECC 6.0). I have to substitute some gif images on HTML template of a customer internet service (on SE80).
I have pointing on the folder:
YYWEB
-Topic 99
-IMAGE
A.GIF
and I create new MIME object B.GIF (under IMAGE folder) I save and publish it.
Into HTML template I have found this code (that's work fine):
<TD background="`mimeURL(~name="/image/a.gif")`" height=32 > </TD>
and I changed in:
<TD background="`mimeURL(~name="/image/b.gif")`" height=32 > </TD>
But nothing is appearing on the browser in place of the B.GIF image.
Any clues?

Perhaps try clearing the Browser Cache and the Integrated ITS Template and MIME Cache using transaction: SITSPMON -> "Template & MIME Cache"
If "B.GIF" is still not shown - use a HTTP sniffer like HTTPWatch to see if the template is ref the correct MIME in the View Source of the HTML page.

Adobe Reader PDF Desktop Icons No Longer Thumbnail Images

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 - and thanks to a fix for this I found somewhere a while ago, it's been working fine for the longest time. In the past week, I see that my Adobe Reader desktop icons are no longer thumbnail images - they are back to the old standard Reader icons. I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling Adobe Reader - unapplying / reapplying this x64 thumbnails fix - and combinations of the two. Nothing has worked thus far.
Does anyone have a suggestion / fix / etc. on how I can get my PDF icons back to the thumbnail images - NOT the standard gray .PDF reader icons?

Hi,
Instead of writing this in the docs: "However, no thumbnails appear in articles that use the PDF image format", better yet place in the Thumbnail view a thumbnail image with crossed red diagonals and writing in the middle: "Not available for the PDF article format".
It could also have "Click to generate thumbnail from PDF. This will can take a few seconds" functionality.

It's a long time since we generate only 'pdf folios', so we do not have any thumbnail any more in Folio Producer ...
Is this features so difficult to implement?

Encore button thumbnail image capture - then disable

Hi all
One of the good features of encore, that is most useful for inexperienced users
is the button thumbnail image/video extraction
however the facility to retain the image capture seems locked with the functional button presence on the dvd menu
have i overlooked a method of disabling of this within encore without loss of image capture, or is it a photoshop requirement

your solution seems like the most workable solution so far for video display in this button thumbnail, this does work quite effectively although the button is still present.
thanks for this, heres some further solutions/info we have
PHOTO ONLY DISPLAY after firstly setting the link of the button to the relevant imported image timeline to complete thumbnail capture choose - convert the button to an object
this effectively traps the image capture and resolves the issues of navigation and retains the auto button route.
VIDEO DISPLAY
The preview feature - render motion menus may be a good solution for the video thumbnail however it is exported in mpg and the quality may be reduced
the render motion menus facility will compile a video from the items visible at any time.
example
Hide from view all non required items in the motion background ie other buttons and text items
excluding the thumbnail button and background
then by setting the link of the button to the relevant chapter or video to complete video capture
choose - render motion menus
encore compiles a video background with the video thumb nail included and saves it in the respective project sources/menus folder named Video_Bpgc_Asf.mpg
by importing a copy of this into your project (must be a copy)
and using this as the motion background to the menu, all navigation issues and auto button routing are solved
after of course deleting or disabling the respective button from the menu and reactivating all hidden buttons and text etc.
or am i being lazy and trying to avoid a jump to another software to do this ?

Thumbnail images of Thumbnail Slideshow Widget not releasing Tooltips

I'm running Muse v2.2 Build 6 CL 770942 and had mistakenly assigned a number of tooltips to a number of thumbnail images of a thumbnail slideshow widget. After deleting those tooltips via the contextual menu on selected thumbnails and the "edit image properties" item in that menu, and after re-publishing to my Creative Cloud-hosted non-live site, and after refreshing my page in Safari 6.0.1 (8536.26.14) running OS 10.8.2, the tooltips are still there. This seems to be a bug.

I cleared the cache to no avail.
I tried opening the page in Firefox 15.0.1, and the tooltips not only still appear when I rollover the thumbnails, but all thumbnails, menu links, and heroes are totally off the page to the right!!

Aperture 2.1.4 problem - have thumbnail but not full-size image

I'm relatively new at using Aperture. I have been downloading photos from my Nikon D200 into iPhoto and then modifying those photos in Aperture. This has worked fine for several months. However, after installing v 2.1.4, I can no longer access the images I've altered in Aperture, although the thumbnail images are still present at the bottom of the screen. How do I access the images previously modified in Aperture? Are they stored somewhere in iPhoto?
I've been hesitant to download images from the camera straight into Aperture because I'm still not as proficient as I'd like with the program. For whatever reason, there are few training opportunities for Aperture here in the US....another issue.

Thank you for trying to help me with the problem. Let me back up a bit further so that you can better understand my problem. Here are some of the problems:
(1) I had been downloading all my pictures (Nikon D200) into iPhoto. After selecting a few that I would like to make adjustment using Aperture, then only I import versions of it into Aperture. The way I had been importing images is by going into Aperture, go to File show iPhoto, select photos by dragging them into album that I had created in Aperture. Is this the correct way of importing photos from iPhoto into Aperture?
(2) After making adjustments in Aperture recently, the next day I went back into Aperture to see them, all the pictures in the viewer is replaced by " Unsupported Image Format". Why Aperture let me do all the adjustments if this is unsupported image format? It only tell me this, the next day after I had tried to view all the photos with adjustments that were made earlier?
(3) Dozens of adjusted photos (versions) from my albums in Aperture had also disappeared. I had not use the vault in Aperture as yet. The question is where are all my adjusted versions being stored? My Aperture Library is shown to be empty! I thought at the very least, all my versions is stored in the Aperture Library. How do I store versions in this library?
Yes, my workflow may seems convoluted at the moment, using iPhoto as my reference and only dealing with versions in Aperture. The reason for my madness is quite simple ( I thought), I need to understand Aperture really well before importing photos directly into it and bypass iPhoto altogether. With all the problems that I am facing with Aperture at the moment, I am not quite there yet.

Open your iPhoto Library, go to that particular album and verify that you can view the full sized version of each image by double clicking on them. Report back with the results.

I have just installed Photoshop CC on my new Windows 8.1 OS computer and when I try to open one of my RAW files into Photoshop from the Photoshop 'open file' menu item I can only see file icons rather than the thumbnail pictures that are in the folders? I can view the thumbnails just fine from Bridge but not when opening directly from Photoshop? I can view all jpg's but no RAW files (both Canon and Sony RAW). I tried installing the Microsoft Camera Codec for Windows 8.1 but it won't install - error message says "not intended for this operating system" in spite of the fact that it explicitly states it is for Windows 8.1? Any ideas on what to do to be able to view the thumbnail images?

Why do QTVR interactive images do not function properly or at all?

QTVR interactive images do not function properly. Check this page out in firefox and then in safari and see the difference.....

I have Safari 5.1.7. I am using Mac Snow Leopard.
That page is using Flash as well as Quicktime. With Firefox, when I drag the cursor, there is no movement until I let go of the button. That makes it very jerky.
You could try disabling hardware acceleration and see if that works better with Firefox, in Preferences > Advanced > General.

Main image not altered, but thumbnail is?

im using a free trial of lightroom and when i try and adjust an image i.e, exposure etc where it makes a noticeable difference, only the thumbnail image in the top left changes. i.e darkens or brightens with exposure changes. the only way to apply the changes to the main image is to zoom in and out again.
im keen to buy a full version of lightroom, but im not paying for this kind of functionailty :S
also, btw, it did work for a few days and then suddenly it stopped working properly...

It is possibly not a fault some properties/businesses have multiple service points/sockets in, you can check this by calling BT and request to check this,did you pay a connection charge? if not BT will have carried out a check on the property prior to you moving in and for example may have found multiple lines so the main one you say that does not work may have been ceased meaning an engineer/installation charge would apply and the latter which you say worked may have just been a stopped line or takeover connection hence they choose to use that one,i could be wrong if it's only one line your main point may be broke does the working socket have a BT openreach logo on or is it a extension.also BT have supplied you as agreed so if you do need an extension or other line already present activating you would have to pay 127.99

HTML articles and InDesign articles that use JPEG or PNG image format display thumbnail images in the Folio Producer Editor. However, no thumbnails appear in articles that use the PDF image format.
